We bought a Benson king size bed and mattress 2 years ago. Recommended by the sales guy as good as any brand out there. How wrong we were to believe him. We have just ordered a new Silentnight mattress elsewhere because unfortunately the Benson one has not survived even 2 years. I regularly turned the mattress aligned to the instructions at least once a month, it could not be turned over, just turned around 180 degrees. There is a very big dip as if the coils have come apart( a big V dip) on my side, I am about 16st . When I contacted Bensons, they suggested that the 5 year warranty would not cover this, but if I paid £50, for a third party to come out to see if it was covered under warranty, it may be covered. In my mind this is a company that does not have faith in its own products, why do we have to pay what I believe is an insurance indemnity so if it was deemed as warranty, would cover the cost of a replacement mattress meaning that Bensons get away with selling sub standard products. I will never buy anything else from Benson for Beds for that reason alone. Can't wait unbroken the new mattress arrives and I can throw the Benson one away. Do not get caught out.

We purchased some wardrobes few years ago, they are ok, No issues to speak of. However one of the handles on the doors broke on the Bracket attachment. Simple issue, although we expected to Pay for the Bracket replacement, did think it would be an easy process but it was far from it. I contacted Benson's by phone in Dec 2019 providing the details of what the problem was (Broken Brackets on Door need replacing please provide cost). They called back week later saying someone would contact with details. No response for 2 weeks. Called again in Jan 2020 again was told some one would call back but no one did. Called again in Jan 2020 was told that they & I Quote "We are Experiencing a high volume of emails" The usual message we have received numerous times before. They asked for our details & order number, which we had already provided in Dec 2019 but sent again. Nothing again so called Twice over 2 weeks in Feb couldn't get through to speak to someone. Called again in March got through & spoke to someone, they said they had the details & told us they would pass on to the team who deal with Parts. Then no contact at all received in March. Tried again in April but only urgent calls were being accepted. No contact received in June or July & couldn't get through. Next time contact was made was in 24th Aug 2020 when I sent yet another email with the details & received the reply "We are currently experiencing a high volume of emails". No further contact received. Sent another email 3rd Sept got the same reply again. No further contact received Then received an email on 15th Sept asking for our details again but this they sent a copy of the parts so that we can let them know what we needed again which we replied to & sent again. Now Sept 19th received reply saying " I am sorry for the delay in responding to your email as we are currently experiencing higher volume of emails and calls" All this just to get 2 Brackets for Door Handle Absolutely Shocking Aftercare Service. Awful!!

It's customer service is a disgrace. First of all I ordered a bed frame at the end of August. This was meant to arrive on the 16th September. On the 14th September I got another message saying it was again due on the 16th September. On the 15th September I received a call from a male who dealt with logistics. All he could tell me was that the bed frame was out of stock and they could not deliver it? When I have asked what they plan to do about it, all he could say was I'm logistics you have to contact customer services. Now that's the first bad example of Benson's. Secondly I contact customer services who explain they will get in touch with logistics and get back to me. This took over 24 hours. What to find out when a bed can be delivered? Then I received a message from Ursula. This stated that the bed would be delivered on the 28th September. I have kindly replied if the bed was actually in stock as I was in two minds of asking for a refund which was my right under consumer law. Nobody replied for another 24 hours on instant messenger. Instant doesn't mean instant with Benson's. I then received a further reply saying that the bed was discontinued and that I could choose a different bed. I initially sent an Instant message, but knowing it would take 24 hours, I have contacted the so called customer services. This took me 35 minutes which if it's on my phone bill will be coming to your head office. I have spoken with the delightful Eve. Now with the name Eve I think she was more all hollows Eve than Xmas. I have explained the situation and she had taken 5 minutes to think about it and then said "you can choose a different bed" I have asked Eve what alternative bed are they offering as I was not willing to pay anymore. Eve " you will have to go to a different office" What? So sick of wasting my time I have asked for a refund. The almighty Eve has said "Well you are entitled to a refund" I know I am so can I have a refund please. The response is mind blowing "You will have to email internet sales to get one" This being from internet sales customer services. This whole business feels either badly organised or they are on their last legs and are soon to go bust. Please stay away. I currently have a 12 year old sleeping on a mattress due to their shoddy service.

7 months later... Avoid like nothing you've ever avoided before!! So after 7 months of lies and being fobbed off I had to take out court action. This was weeks after Bensons had gone into administration with PWC and the new investment owners took over. The day the court action was filed and I'd started to email senior management, a date was provided for Bensons to come and collect the faulty mattress (that was deemed faulty 7 months previously). The delivery chaps turned up on the date planned, which is a mircale unto itself, and guess what? The driver tells me the mattress must be wrapped before it can be taken away! With what exactly? Toilet roll? Not once was I told this in any correspondance. Luckily enough, we'd just bought a new mattress from The Bedman in Redditch (amazing service and products by the way) and I fetched the wrapping out of the wheelie bin to put the Bensons mattress in. The comment from one of the drivers as they were loading it into their van just about sums it up, "This mattress is a bit bloody floppy isn't it?" Oh yeah. You'd better believe it. £400 mattress as well. To end this miserable experience, we ended up getting a full refund. Right now Bensons For Beds is not fit to be a high street retailer. They are taking money from custmers and providing delivery dates that simply cannot be fulfilled - and they know this as well. Spend your money anywhere - absolutely anywhere apart from Bensons for Beds. Simply the worst company with equally despicable lies and overpriced junk furniture on the high street. The faster this company goes under the better off we will all be.

It is unfortunate that I have no alternative but to give 1 star.......as I wanted to award this sham excuse of a business zero stars. Ordered way back in January, Covid19 lockdown was the first excuse ( although my bed was due prior to lockdown) then delivery failure after delivery failure. Eventually cancelled ordered ( then the battle for a full refund commenced:bloody cheek!) And now buying from a small independent bed suppliers... whilst all this has happened....I have had a conservatory and house extension...no kidding! This business needs to be more honest and transparent with its customers if they are struggling.

Faulty bed, Benson's refused to either replace or refund. Blamed me for fault as I "sat on the mattress"....not sure how they get into bed 😂 Absolutely dreadful customer service, spend hours in a queue for an agent, then spoken to very rudely before line is disconnected. Avoid this company at all costs

Ordered a bed wardrobe and bedside drawers in January bed delivered in march damaged!!!! Had to be replaced. Wardrobe arrived damaged! Waited for it to replaced but they only sent parts! Was told they would send a whole new wardrobe! They didnt they had one in the van but only replaced parts! They were going to leave me with missing parts as well. This took 9 months to sort. Would not recommend this company to anyone. If you are foolish enough to think about buying it just set fire to some money while stood outside their shop because you will not get your products from these people.

My bed was delayed for 4months. Bed was ordered in Feb, I was given 4 different delivery dates to no avail, my bed has now arrived but the bedside cabinet was missing from the order and is yet to be delivered. Customers service response was incredibly poor, lady I spoke to lacked empathy and compassionate, rude at times with no customers service skills. I was left feeling frustrated, destressed and emotionally drained for many weeks.

In store experience was good but thats where it ended. Ordered bed & mattress and had 3 failed deliveries, lots of different reasons why, unable to get through on the phone, took numerous emails, fb messenger messages & twitter to cancel it. They seem to be taking money for goods they cannot supply. AVOID

I have had a bed for 18 mths, one side/edge has collapsed and is not fit for purpose as you roll off the bed. I had taken out extended care & protect at a cost of £90. i have been told as its not an accidental fault its not covered speak to Bensons . Bensons have said they wont do anything unless i pay for an independent report to prove the bed has a fault. NO WHERE IN THEIR 5 YEAR Guarantee T's & C's is this stated. i asked them to put this in writing to me but they said they cant send emails . Awful company would give them ZERO STARS if i could.

Ordered and paid in full for an adjustable bed and headboard in March (before lockdown). Finally received the headboard in August turns out it’s not the headboard we ordered, after emailing with no reply every day for a week, I called the shop who actually managed to get it sorted even though they had to put a new order in. Were they just hoping we would accept a headboard that was over £150 cheaper?. That finally was delivered 3/4 weeks later. The bed is another matter, text received that delivery was between 7th and 11th September. That has come and gone with nary a peep from them. I will never buy so much as a pillow from them ever again. Staff in the shops do their best but everyone else in this appalling company just ignores you, disgraceful.

Ordered and paid for 2 mattresses on 20th July given delivery date of 9th September and that we would be notified 2 days before to confirm delivery. I phoned and emailed them 2 days before as I had not been contacted,delivery was confirmed on the phone and via emali for between 1 and 6 p on the 9th.. 7.03pm on the 8th received a message to say only 1 mattress was being delivered. Rang customer services on the morning of the 9th and after over 30 minutes on the phone nobody could tell me anything regarding 2nd mattress so I asked them to cancel the while order and was told this could only be done on line. I immediately did this and asked for a full refund. At 9.30 the driver phoned to say he would be here in the next hour (remember I was told between 1-6 ) told him not to call as I would refuse delivery as order was cancelled. Had to request a refund a second time as they did not reply to my emails glad to say I have got my money back .

Had a text message last week to let us know that we would be contacted a couple of days before delivery date to confirm delivery time. However we have been called today by employee from Bensons for Beds to tell us that our delivery of 2 single divan beds and mattresses has been delayed. We were expecting them to arrive next Wednesday 16 September but now we learn they will not be delivered until 9th November. After reading these reviews we’re feeling worried that they won’t arrive then. Wish we had gone somewhere else now!

I went and spent £1,149.98 on a mattress and bed. This was two months ago and was told the delivery date would be today and I could pay someone to set the bed up. Bed didn't come and I had the man asking me if its been delivered yet. when I called up I was told they don't have it in stock and I have to wait till they have it back again. I then had to say sorry for the handy man for them wasting my time and theirs. I don't know when I will get the bed and im now sleeping on a mattress as I got rid of my bed thinking its coming today. I will never ever use this company again. what kind of customer service or business are you even running? taking my money and making me wait. Joke!!!!

Our experience started well with Bensons.. great in store sales team at New Malden who were knowledgeable. I even left a 5 star review to applaud that. However, once they have your money, it went terribly wrong. On the planned delivery date, the bed never turned up and we had no communication to say so. I rang their customer services team at 4pm and was advised that they'd known beds to be delivered as late as 11pm sometimes, so we hoped for the best. The following day, with no explanation why the bed had not arrived, I rang customer services (annoyed as we had slept on the sofa for the evening, including my pregnant wife). The order was rescheduled for a further 2 months and the only compensation offered was an inflatable bed which we had to buy ourselves from their store (and they claimed they would refund). This was not acceptable in my eyes and we declined. Staggered, I tried to raise a formal complaint and was passed between departments, and also asked to contact the store. Still no bed. A few days on, I rang to make a formal complaint and was advised it was a supplier issue (the first we'd heard of this) and that there was no way we would get the bed before Nov 2020. As compensation, they were prepared to offer £50 cashback (on an order value of £1,350). Frankly, this was an insult of an offer and we will be cancelling our order. The customer services staff are nice, and advised to make complaints on social media, as there is nothing they can do with the current internal processes. Perhaps my feedback on their staff is that they are not consistent with their advice. I can live with supplier disruption due to covid, but the lack of communication leading to my pregnant wife sleeping on cushions for two evenings was simply unacceptable, not to mention needing to buy a temporary bed at short notice. AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID. I cannot stress enough have different an experience was before and after they had our money. Absolutely shocking.
