I recently bought a Samsung TV from Best Buy. As a native Minnesotan, I like the idea of supporting a local company... even if it's a big one. The sales representative was knowledgeable and helpful. The purchase went smoothly. We decided to use a different company to mount our TV because they were astonshingly cheaper. (mycablemart.com) After it was mounted, the installer noticed that it appeared the TV had been used before. It was covered in handprints and had someone else's Netflix account on it. I tried to contact the store I bought the TV from, but they weren't taking my calls. I was put through to a call center. The person on the other end of the line told me that we could exchange the TV or Best Buy could compensate us for a portion of the cost since the TV wasn't new. After working through this situation, it was determined that because I made the purchase in store, I would have to go in to the store to resolve it. Ridiculous and annoying. When I went into the store, they said they would only do a trade, not compensate me for the difference between a new and used TV. I asked, since the TV was mounted, if they would put the new TV on an existing mount. Nope. Since we didn't buy from them, they wouldn't do it. This low level of customer support made me walk out the door very disappointed. My family is very good at boycotting stores we don't like. Best Buy just got blacklisted. The next TV, appliance, phone accessory, whatever that we buy will not be from them. In the end, they got to keep the price difference between the two TV's because I won't haul in the one we bought (it works fine). Their gain on the transaction by not compensating me for the difference in price between a used and a new TV? $40. This is a net loss for their company. I will definitely not buy from them again and discourage friends and family from shopping with them. That being said, if someone from Best Buy were willing to contact me to resolve this situation appropriately, I would be willing to modify or remove this review. Maybe even shop with them again in the future. Let's see if they vaule their customers.

We worked with assistant to purchase a TV. The attendant Highly recommended 43 inch tv and we were ready to purchase the one he sold us on.. then says “oops all out!” Know your stock sir before you waste our time! Asked to find another store close to us for tv he recommended… “ oh Jeeze all out, my bad”

I bought a cell phone from Best Buy and they want $45 restocking fee if you return it. Three of their employers were to busy talking to each other while I waited for someone to ask me if I need help with anything. I will take my business somewhere else

We have a 2 year old washer we purchased at Best Buy, the water drain pump went out on it, on March 19, 2021 Servise man came in on on March 29th ordered the part, 2 days later was determined part on back order or not available, on on April 29th was sent for resolution as no part available, today May 8 th , still no resolution, no washer! THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE, it is a ridiculous guarantee!!!!!!!

They promise anything you want to get you to buy!!! Beware!!! Once the sale is complete, their promises mean nothing!!! They have your money and you’re at their mercy!!! Never again!!!! Well buy from anyplace else other than “NOT BEST BUY”!!!! Don’t need their lies and empty promises anymore!!!!

I am so disappointed, I don’t know that I can in good conscience purchase from Best Buy again. I’ve been a faithful customer for many many years, since circuit city died and Best Buy came in as the Goliath they are. We purchased a new dishwasher in February of 2020, it was a Samsung. I won’t make that mistake again, but that’s only part of the story. The Samsung was on sale, it was an open box item. Little did I know. We were buying a defective model. This model was returned for some reason, and I believe we found out why. We just didn’t learn until after a while. The metal seal that holds the gasket in place on the bottom right corner came loose, so the bottom drawer would no longer slide in. It was rendered useless in a period of about 11 months. But hey, it happens, we were smart enough to purchase the geek squad warranty. So, I called them up and was greeted by a friendly voice, the gentleman offered me an exchange, all I had to do was go to the store and they’d replace it, like for like, since it was not repairable. Sadly, a simple exchange was not possible. They did have one in stock, but since we got a “deal” on the dishwasher, we were asked to pay the significant difference. We bought an open box, and since they didn’t have an open box one, we had to pay the retail price. After some discussion with the store manager, we opted to have them give a full refund while we decided what we were going to do. Well, we ended up buying a different dishwasher, a Bosch this time, one we’ve owned before and loved. It was on back order, so we had to wait for some time. They sent someone out to pick up the broken dishwasher, he was willing to install the new one, but.. it hadn’t arrived yet. I was frustrated, but oh well.. we moved on. We originally had a delivery date of 1/23/2021, but then the date was pushed to the 27th which was frustrating. We dealt with it. Today they delivered the dishwasher, only to find out the front door was dented in the upper left corner. They weren’t prepared to install since we hadn’t paid for it. But. When they took the other one, they were willing to install it free of charge? How does that make sense? I digress. Now we have a dishwasher that’s damaged, so we call for a replacement. Which is great! Except.. it’s no longer available. I can’t express enough my frustration. I am an elite plus member, and have been for many years. I’ve convinced many of my friends to make large purchases there, but I can’t do that anymore. They don’t stand behind their geek squad.

I received a coupon for $5.00 ... I’m disabled and couldn’t physically get to a Best Buy by the date the coupon stated... I did go one day late and they couldn’t honor my coupon!!?? Come On!!! There’s a friggin pandemic! So rude !! I’m looking for a 65 “ flat screen my daughter took ours to college and I’ll be damned before I buy it there!!! I have purchased so much here!! Keep your 5 dollars idiots I’m done

The Geek Squad which provides very spotty service is excellent at charging renewal of service without authorization. f a customer attempts to reach them, they are put on terminal hold, disconnected and asked to go on line where it dead ends. BEWARE.- providing Best Buy with your credit card # they attempt to use it at their discretion without authorization.

I actually like Best buy but something shady happened today. I went to the one in Ontario Ohio (Walker lake Rd) and made a purchase. They are asking for donations to St. Judges hospital, a charity that I like donating to. Today I declined a donation but the girl still put on my receipt a $10 donation. Its fine to donate but if you say no thanks and actually type it in the machine as no thanks then why was I charged? I seen the charge on my order before I was asked to donate. Again not a big deal to me but very shady. Watch your receipts. Maybe the sales person gets an incentive if customers donate.

Best Buy refused to 'price match' on a MacBook Pro that was also being sold at a local MAC retailer for $150 less. This product has the Price Match notification. Their (very friendly, helpful otherwise) customer service rep on the phone said that they only price match against specific retailers, but the Best Buy website states: "Best Buy is dedicated to always offering the best value to our customers. We will match the price, at the time of purchase, on a Price Match Guarantee product if you find the same item at a lower price at a qualifying online retailer or at a local retail competitor's store". I found the lower price at a local retailer. And Best Buy's Details exclusion info doesn't show that my request should have been denied. I find this to be very misleading on the part of BB. I'm giving the rating 2 stars only because the customer service rep was friendly and apparently following 'policy' that he had no control over. Very disappointing!

Purchased a dryer from Pacific Sales - great experience - delivery scheduled and dryer delivered and installed 11/2/2020 without issue. Delivery persons failed to look at the delivery order and therefore did not reverse dryer door hinge - which I paid $49.99 at time of purchase. (I wasn't present but working at time of delivery so unable to confirm this was done). I called within 10 minutes of delivery persons leaving my home, only to be told I need to call in 48 hours as I am still in the system so they cannot schedule another appt. I call back, am told someone will call me. 4 days later I receive a text (Sunday evening 11/15/2020 at 7pm) saying they will be at my home Mon am between 7a-1p and if needing to reschedule to call between 9a-8p Central time M-F. Seeing that I will be at work during that time, I called first thing in the morning and spoke with someone who said they were in Guatemala City and they couldn't understand me well, they spoke with a fairly thick accent and broken English. I was told my appt was cancelled, which took almost 15 min to just do this, and at this point I need to leave for work (will lose cell service in my garage), so I ask if he can call me back - he tells me yes and confirms my number. Never heard back. About an hour later I receive a call saying they are at my door (entirely different person from So. Calif - she said they had nothing to do with rescheduling/cancelling and couldn't help me). I now called back and rescheduled for Tues 11/24 between 12p-8p (also spoke with someone with a thick accent, but she seemed to understand me).....we'll see what happens. Terrible communication with a disconnect and one end has no idea what the other is doing (sounds like 2 different countries!).

The worst customer service ever experienced. I just spent close to $1700 and the work order isn't the same as the store receipt I've been trying for 4 days to talk to someone and finally got a call center agent and instead of fixing an item on the order, she cancelled the item, stupid. 92 minute call. Today I got another call center agent and he was into trying to change the order and if so the install date would be delayed another week. So I was in the middle of the call and he put me on hold at about 50 minutes and now I look on my phone timer, it's one hour and 41 minutes. I'm hanging up now and tomorrow , even though I'm on a walker, I will go to the store and cancel my order and go across the street to Costco's. When I started my business I bought all our PCs from Best Buy not to mention the $7K Pioneer plaza that I am replacing now. Where's that company now?

Absolutely worst “after sale” customer service (that’s a misnomer with regard to Best Buy) I’ve ever had. They believe in take the money & run. Sales must make their money on selling service contracts because if you don’t have one you’re sunk. Walmart would have helped me but they didn’t have the TV size I had to have.

I bought my first two computers (a HP and an ASUS...one primary and one for a backup) a printer and service contracts at Best Buy. I have no complaints with their Geek Squad nor any of their personnel who do their best. Both computers went down. Lucky me. I had to make an appointment 10 days ahead of time just to drop them off. I worked IT 35 years ago and that is inexcusable (pandemic or no pandemic and by the way...their business is booming). I will remove the autobill for a second year of Geek Squad service. I bought a Chromebook at Staples for a third backup to my first two computers. It sucks but I need it and it's functional.

Went to best buy to buy washer and a small freezer Did not review paper work My fault Was there on Friday and they said they would delivering Saturday Great Got a text on my cell phone that they were coming They didn't Looked at paper work and realized they had old address from credit card I had years ago No one called or texted to ask why wasn't at the address I dried calling store for 2 days no luck Had to drive down for them to tell me I had to wait a week for delivery Said very sorry Yada yada

I understand during pandemic period, it takes longer to reach the Best Buy customer service. However, after waiting more than 30 minutes to get my turn to the customer service, I am not sure if the customer is drunk or what: First, he could not remember the phone number I provided more than 3 times. Second, after my question, he simply just point me where to get the info & put me on hold & then hung up?!! Does Best Buy really watch their online customer service quality? My current experience is not. Very lousy Best Buy online customer service quality & only creating more frustrating customers seems it is the goal of Best Buy online customer service group.

Went to Best Buy in Savannah, GA to have a tablet serviced. Was told I needed an appointment, when attempting to schedule I was told the next available appointment to DROP OFF (not have any service done, not have anyone look at it, just drop it off) was 14 days from today (07/21 appointment). When I asked why I could not just drop it off today and then have them get to it on the 23rd I was told that the Corporate office does not let them touch the service items for 2 days once dropped off. Now I am not that smart, but if an item is dropped off on 07/07 and they dont look at it till 07/23 that seems like more than a 2 day quarantine. When I pointed this out to both the employee who was scheduling my DROP OFF and the assistant manager they both said this was corporate policy and covid was the cause. I am so tired of hearing Covid caused this and that it when the issue has nothing to due with the pandemic. A 2 week waiting time to DROP OFF a product for service is absolutely stupid, I understand the service can take some time, but a 2 week wait to DROP IT OFF absolutely STUPID.

Trying to buy something from them is a major hassle. Their IT Dept. needs replacement. The links loop, always back to "buy something," never to an answer. Their "help" function is categorized so none fit a simple question, "order status." More loops. The Reno Best Buy store couldn't process my credit card or debit card, and insisted it was my fault until Best Buy.com processed it with no trouble. Then she didn't bother to apologize when I gave her the info, just to be helpful. All this, and the web page gave me a delivery date of July 23. Then an email, "please schedule an appointment." Then they demanded a reschedule to July 30. By now, I'm thinking that if the refrigerator ever arrives, the hassle will only be starting.

Got forced to pay 50$ more on headphones for a 2 year warranty even when I clearly told the employee I was not interested. Didn’t notice it was added to my total until it was too late. Disappointed but unfortunately not surprised after a speech about how great the warranty is supposed to be.
