Well...what an ungrateful, bone idle piece of work that came to collect my Moms dining table! He moaned and said it was damaged! It had about an inch square of "colour discrepancy" which could easily be rectified. After much head shaking he decided to take it. Then started huffing and puffing saying it was too heavy! There were TWO of them! So my nephew picked it up, took it through the front door and carried it (on his own) and placed it right next to their van for them! What an ungrateful charity, getting something for nothing and then charging the earth for it. Wish we had donated elsewhere.

Wish I'd read the reviews before .I recently donated some of my mums furniture to the charity but had poor experience. The delivery guy got me to dust the items as he said he didnt really want to eat dust for breakfast it was just a bit on top of a tall cabinet that I had missed then on seeing there was one tiny door knob missing on the fire surround they rejected it saying we dont have the resources to make repairs?screwing on a knob ?? I think they expect way too much perfection forgetting they are a charity shop I'd never donate again .

Purchased table and folding chairs. Customer service - great man help immensely. Table filthy when it arrived. They dragged it across floor and bent leveling screw which split the wood as well. Very shoddy delivery men. Not happy. ☹️☹️☹️

Looking at all these reviews I am having the same issue. They are fussy and ridicoulous. They need to be shut down. I am not selling them something nor am i giving something of low quality. And twice theyve rejected it. And its experiences like this that sadly the reason people dont give to charity.

As many people have already stated, please don’t waste your time donating to this company, as there’s probably way more deserving places your things could go. Was given a particular morning delivery slot, just for drivers to turn up at 7am, they’d called, but when I didn’t answer there seemed to be no initiative to at least call me back. Rudely interrupted a guest sleeping downstairs, and all that just to tell me they couldn’t even collect the items noted down, books that I’d put on my donation list had been taken off the list from the booking employee. All round waste of time, if I could give no stars I very much would. This was BHF Smethwick.

Very bad experience. I had to re-booked twice and was a wasted of time. Two guys came and started to check the stuff and they only accepted to take the books. I had a double mattress, TV, baby Cot and a football table game. Nothing was worthy for them. I told them tell your manager to update the BHF Website in order for us to upload photos of our stuff to giveaway and do not waste out precious time. The store I booked a collection was Cricklewood, no way I'm going to book again for collection.

If I could give no star, I would. Staff and driver at BHF Bromley are rude and seem to think they are doing donors a favor. I donated one of two sofas to BHF in Bromley. The 2nd sofa had a little rip and I said they could mend it and sell but they said they don't mend items and only wanted items saleable straightaway. The driver arrived to collect the good sofa and I requested that they help me put the 2nd sofa out in my back garden (I am a 62yr old disabled lady) and they said I had to give them a drink (alcohol) or £10. They were both rude and standoffish. I called the BHF to speak to Mark who told me that it was not part of their job to help me and that they could charge me for helping me move the sofa from my Livingroom to my garden. Mark was no better than his driver. He was rude and condescending in the way he communicated with me and there really was no reason to be rude. I told him that none of them needed to be rude and could have just said they don't do favors for customers. I did tell Mark from BHF Bromley, I would never again donate anything to BHF ever again and he said "fine!" There are lots of other charities out there and next time, I would offer the item for free on Facebook rather than give it to BHF.

If I could give no stars I would. Two men arrived to take a sofa in mint condition away. Only thing needed was to take the feet off. This was far too much work for them….one muttered he only got paid £3.00 per uplift and this was too much trouble. They were so lazy it was unbelievable. I certainly won’t be buying or donating again from BHF.

Our mattress which we waited nearly two weeks to have collected has nothing wrong with it. It is in mint condition, from a very clean no smoking home and has a fire label. Only replacing as we had splashed out on a new expensive one. It has been refused today because the black metal bed frame it was lay on has left some marks. As soon as the driver left, I got to work with a sponge and water and they scrubbed away instantly. Called him back 10 minutes later to explain and he said he was in a location already that takes 45 minutes to get too so won't be returning. Must have wings on those BHF lorries! These guys just couldn't be bothered lifting a mattress into their van... pure laziness. I also mentioned that I would have cleaned it in advance but I assumed everything gets deep cleaned before it goes on sale anyway. To which he replied only sofas! That's absolutely disgusting. Why would a used mattress not get deep cleaned before going on sale?! Won't be donating to BHF again.

James who claims to be area manager at Dumbarton Rd store in glasgow is hostile n aggressive when you're making a valid enquiry n complaint.Nasty piece of work and appears to be an oxymoron to bhf claims.Bought a suite, which was unsuitable and under policy can have it returned within 30 days.Weve had nothing but stress trying to get it returned and get a refund.James at this store treats customers with contempt and leaves you out of pocket n stressed out enough to have a heart attack. However,I won't be letting this little dictator away with this and will expose nhf's treatment of a genuine customer, and mot tolerating being treated so badly n in my view illegally by refusing to deal with me contravening company policy and sale of goods act.A nasty vile hostile piece of work is James at bhf Dumbarton Road shop.Ill never deal with bhf againSerioysly let down and disgusted!

I went to have a look in the British Heart Foundation shop in Salford lest week. I was surprised at the prices of the items. Very high prices are being asked for musty smelling junk.

Waste of time, arranged collection of a perfect condition sofa bed with fire label. Reason getting rid was that it belonged to previous owner. Upon collection they found fire label as described then were seemingly looking for any small detail as to why they could not remove the sofa from property. They in end stated that the mattress part did not have a label. The label on sofa covered the whole sofa not just the case. I expect as with other comments here they just could not be bothered to remove the item. Perhaps BHF should look to outsource to another company going forward so more peoples time is not wasted.

Had made an online application to collect a freezer box. As, always I make sure items I donate have good retail value, as I've donated previously and they got the retail price that I originally paid. This freezer was less than a year old and no defect, fully working. However, after being given a time for collection I recieved a call, and when conversing I told them it was a box freezer. I was then told abruptly "oh it cost us £10 to collect" so I told them to cancel... as I say its like new and would easy get full retail value being a trusted brand. However, for the sake of £10 I'll take it too the local Brick Project (charity that helps the homeless) and I'm sure they will be better on reception. I'm sorry to say I find the Heart Foundation just too greedy for a charity. And this review is Wigan branch

We had arranged a collection of some bedroom furniture in very good condition from the Crawley branch, and waited weeks for the items to be collected. They tried to call 4 times in 4 minutes from an unknown number on the morning of collection, which I missed because I was on a quick conference call. I called the shop an hour or two later to ask if they were coming - I was told by the rather rude person that they tried to call, had now moved on to other collections and would no longer be calling. Absolutely disgraceful. What a waste of everyone's time - you'd have thought they'd have tried to call back 5 minutes later because I didn't pick up. It's now going to the tip. How ridiculous.

A waste of time and energy at a time when I'm short of both. I offered to donate a wardrobe, sofa and 3 side tables. BHF gave me a collection time of between 8am and 2pm. At 7.30am the driver phoned. He barely spoke English. I couldn't understand him. I thought he said they'd arrive at 11.30am. They turned up at 8am. As soon as they saw I had a dog, they declined to take the sofa. I'd hoovered it but they found a couple of tiny dog hairs on it and said they couldn't take it in case a customer has an allergy to animals. If their policy is not to take soft furnishings from households with pets, they should say so up front. They declined to take the wardrobe, saying they couldn't carry it down the stairs (and I suspect this is the real reason they didn't take the sofa). When booking the collection, I explained that I'm in a flat with no lift and asked if their drivers would manage to carry furniture down stairs. Again, they should have said up front they couldn't do it. They took just the three side tables. Given the current cost of petrol, I doubt the amount they sell them for will even cover their fuel costs in collecting them. Which is a waste of a charitiy's resources. I'm disabled with a spinal cord injury, it took a huge effort on my part to prepare for the collection, all for no benefit to the charity or to me.
