It was my second time using BookAway site and I'm super happy with the service, easy & safe. i had to change my ticket date and the customer support team was ON it in 5 m!! they covered all the trip destinations i wanted to go and had all type of transfers

SCAM ALERT: Bookaway featured Siwa minibus service that had not been operational in Alexandria nor Siwa. I paid minibus price but was switched last minute to uncomfortable bus. In addition to the inconvenience/discomfort of bus, I requested reimbursement of difference for minibus service not received. Using Bookaway does not provide any value given the false advertisement. I recommend independent purchase of your bus ticket in person, then you can be better guaranteed of service you paid for. I would avoid Bookaway for future travel at all costs.

2 days post customer service request to make simple change to pickup point. They take your payment at lightening speed then customer service is lame. I have used them before but never needed customer service. Avoid booking with Bookaway: useless customer service and zero control over local operators We booked transportation with Bookaway months in advance, trusting their platform, but on the day of our trip, we were left stranded while other passengers who had booked with 12Go were able to board the van. The driver told us that no other vehicle would be coming and that our only option was to pay for a last-minute private transfer, risking missing our international flight, which would have cost us hundreds of euros. The worst part was Bookaway’s customer service. They have been giving us the runaround for two months without providing any real solution. They have no control over their local operators, and if you have a problem, they will leave you on your own. Recommendation: Book directly with local companies or use alternatives like 12Go, which did fulfill their bookings that day.

Booked a ferry off an island 2 months in advance. The day before all our reservations were cancelled due to it being full. 100% they didn’t reserve it and only sent a 10% off coupon. After losing out on hotel fees and having to extend my local hotel. DO NOT USE.

Misleading Information & Poor Customer Service I am extremely disappointed with this company. The booking confirmation and website provided the wrong pick-up time, causing me to miss my shuttle—yet they refused any refund. Instead of offering a fair solution, they only gave me a 15% discount for a future booking. Absolutely unacceptable customer service—never again!

Before booking with the operator you chose, all customers are informed to check the correct pickup time, which is assigned by the supplier and available on the ticket. This information is also repeated in the confirmation email and on the voucher. Avoid Bookaway – Unreliable & Untrustworthy! We booked a speedboat transfer from Lombok to Gili Air through Bookaway, arriving two hours early. The boat? It never showed up. After waiting for three hours, we had no choice but to purchase new tickets with another company to avoid being stranded. We filed a complaint with Bookaway two months ago, and despite repeated follow-ups, we still haven’t received a refund. Their excuse? They “haven’t been able to contact the boat operator.” But here’s the issue: we booked with Bookaway, not the operator. The responsibility is on them, yet they refuse to take accountability. If a company sells a service and fails to deliver, they should refund the customer—full stop. Instead, Bookaway is dodging responsibility, leaving us out of pocket for a service that never existed. If you value reliability and customer service, do not trust Bookaway with your travel plans.

In fact, book away is an intermediary that bears no responsibility nor can it solve a problem. We had booked tickets for a round trip from La Paz to Uyuni through book away. The transport company canceled the itinerary without warning and we missed the excursion to Uyuni. Then we asked book away to refund our money. 8 days have passed and Carla from support is still trying to contact the transport company and asks us if we got the return itinerary for a trip we never did. We have sent her all the evidence that proves that the itinerary did not happen and we are still waiting. If something goes wrong, be sure that book away will not find you a solution. With get your guide, we had a similar problem and they found a solution for us the next day.

Warning to travelers booking Egypt train tickets through Bookaway ⚠️ I booked round-trip train tickets (Cairo-Alexandria-Cairo) through Bookaway in December 2024. My experience revealed serious issues that potential customers should know about: 1. Despite Bookaway's written policy requiring their agent to provide physical tickets "at least 9 hours before departure," their agent failed to deliver tickets as promised. 2. For the outbound journey, after multiple delays and last-minute changes, the agent provided second-class tickets despite my having paid for first class. 3. For the return journey, the agent: - Attempted to force a change to a different train time despite my stating this wouldn't work with my schedule - Sent invalid tickets for an evening train on the morning of travel - Made questionable claims about "coordinating with train staff" when challenged - Left me with no choice but to purchase new tickets to ensure I could travel 4. When I reported these issues to Bookaway customer service, they have repeatedly delayed resolution by claiming they cannot reach their agent. This was not a case of minor inconvenience - it was a pattern of problematic behavior that caused considerable stress and extra expense during my holiday. I attempted to resolve this through their customer service but received only delays and excuses. I recommend booking train tickets directly at the station or through more reliable services. The small price premium that Bookaway charges is not worth the risk of similar problems with their agents. We booked a 5:30pm La Macarena bus through Bookaway from Medellin to Cartagena, Colombia. It said on our tickets to arrive at the terminal 30 minutes before our departure. When we got to the terminal they said a 5:30pm bus and company does not exist here and we would need to get on a different bus 2 hours later. We tried to call Bookaway support and no one answered. We tried to use their “online chat” feature which does not exist and emailed and messaged on Facebook with no response.
