Nothing went wrong but feel that Caledonian management should have a quiet word with Gary who seems to be the new face of Caledonian Travel in Scotland….Travelled with Gary on several trips and his attitude to his passengers sometimes leave's a lot to desired, he can be quite passive aggressive sometimes, he spoke to two elderly ladies who were merely trying to adjust the temperature control on our last trip a few weeks ago, instead of offering to help he actually said “what are you trying to do, break the the thing”…. He his in most part very knowledgable about the local area even though his favourite subject is Gary..

That star is for a fab driver would giblve 5 but don't want the experience think it was for them. Went on the Harrogate/ xmas lunch in a steam train. Great driver Nick. Polite friendly and funny and helpful getting people on and off coach. Git to train station told to book in and go through to cafe. Got coach and table No and that it was for 3 people. However the coaches A,B and C didn't exist so they had to rearrange. Cafe NOT open to get a cuppa. Got to table after a nasty step up, no assistance offered. Table set for 2 not 3. Min xmas decor. No music at all. Then what a shambles, some people getting pre ordered cold drinks and others a disgusting frozen meal just big enough for a toddler. Stuffing balls so hard they couldn't be opened. 1/2 slice of turkey breast very thinly cut. Still no cold drinks till we finished our meal. Out came flat square shaped xmas pudding. Spent 20 mins on train then 20 mins stopped then went back again to station. Staff started clearing tables then declared " sorry due to lack of staff the meal is over goodbye" ! We were told it was too kate to have our hot drink and mince pie. Totally disappointed and that lot are doing polar express!!! God help those kids. I would rather have bought a £1.99 frozen meal from my local shop, instead of £69 each on that. Will never go again and will never recommend it.

Lots of issues. My daughter and my partner booked a trip to Edinburgh. My partner has mobility issues. They expected to be dropped off in the centre of Edinburgh only to find they were dropped off a 20 minute walk to the centre. When they got to the centre they saw other coach companies dropping people off dead in the centre. My partner had to get a taxi back to the coach. The Drivers attitude was not the best.. When they got back from this trip they complained. Caledonian was not bothered, no empathy and blamed them for taking the holiday. However they offered a £20 voucher to travel with them again. Will never use them again. Not recommended If you have a mobility disability beware

Mystery Tour-On arrival to the coach we were all told that there was no alcohol allowed on board and all alcohol should be brought to the driver & stored under with the luggage. We were threatened that if anyone was caught with alcohol would be removed from the bus & have to make there own way home at their own cost. Not the most welcoming start to our trip. The drivers attitude to his customers was unacceptable. On boarding the coach to spend our second day of our trip we were told the toilets were told the toilet was full so unable to use.Our coach had to be changed on the first day as the door was broken, does that mean the toilet hadn’t been cleaned from the previous trip.It was impossible to have filled the toilet as no one had actually used it on the way down apart from a couple of people. Our driver should have either been retired or looking for another job as he certainly lacked people skills.I certainly won’t travelling with Caledonian again !

Just been on a trip to the Matlock illuminations this was booked with an over 60s club. when we arrived are hotel had been changed with no notice to a very basic hotel food was very poor and no lift my mum had struggle up a very steep flight of stairs which she struggled with. The evening of the illuminations the coach dropped us miles from the park with no direction as to where to go most of the group struggled with this walk to point where we nearly did not make it. After the event finished we were expected to walk all the way back and little bit further this was discussing as a there were other Caledonian coaches picking people up outside the park. There were a lot of people that were complaining to the driver who had a serious attitude about this. Not in a hurry to go with this company again.

We travelled to Edinburgh on 15th August 2024 to see the Tattoo. The coach and driver were good. The Tattoo was excellent. The hotel (Brittania) was absolutely disgraceful. We were taken in to the hotel via a fire exit rather than the main entrance were the corridor was full of leaves and dirty carpets. Cracked sink in bathroom, bath stained and mouldy sealant, filthy carpets, cracked tiles around lift areas. The food was basic at best. The bed was like sleeping on a bed of rocks. We have complained to Caledonia travel and sent photographs with evidence of the above with no reply. Wouldn't travel with this company again.

My husband and his 2 brothers have just returned from 5day tour staying at Scarborough Grand. I had asked Caledonian to check with the hotel before booking that there would be a three bedded room available and the operator contacted them while I held on and was told yes this was available. When they arrived they were shown to a room with only a double and single bed in it. The hotel denied they had been contacted about a three bedded room. Even before opening the room door they were aware of a very strong smell of drains. They complained and were given a better room with 3 beds. Other passengers complained about their rooms being unsuitable and were told they would have to pay an extra £20 per night to be moved.! The restaurant manager-Richard-was extremely rude to passengers who only had their room keys to show instead of a card. No one was aware they needed the card as well as the key and were made to return to their rooms to get their card. After a long day travelling this was a trial for some of the older passengers. The food was terrible. The rooms were not serviced. They had to ask for clean towels and dirty towels were not removed for the whole time they were there and when they asked for toilet roll were told there was none and to come back later,.They went out and bought some. Teabags and coffee were not topped up. This hotel only allows one pillow per person which could cause distress for people with respiratory problems. Corridors were dirty, with litter lying about and there were painters working in them every day with the added issue of the smell of paint always present. A lot of other passengers from the bus were complaining that the hotel was not up to a standard they expected and wondered if anyone from Caledonian travel checks hotels before using them for tours. I feel these complaints should be taken up with the hotel before further customers are faced with these issues.

This trip from start to finish was absolutely diabolical, the coach ride to Llandudno was a disgrace, people in their seventies drinking alcohol and shouting give us a blow hob and I'll give you a can, this is by the way with children on the coach, bus driver did nothing to stop this behaviour, also caladonian added people to our trip and also gave them our seats, the new loretta hotel was a disgrace you were treat like 5 year olds you weren't component enough or trustworthy enough as fully functioning adults to decide where to sit in the restaurant to eat your meals, the room was dirty, mouldy and full of cobwebs, total bleep show would give it no stars but got to rate 1 to review

Came back from Great Yarmouth on the 15th of July after a four day break, I'v never met such an ignorant driver, he never spoke through any of the journey there or back, gave us any information about stops pickups or any thing. Also the Nelson Hotel were we stayed needed alot of updateing and the food wasn't upto much either. the biggest complaint was the driver its the worst experience i'v ever had..

Everything. A trip that was almost fully booked, Harry Potter Studios and Central London, during a week I had available, has been postponed. I needed this and I shall never forgive Caledonian as it is doing this again and again to several of my friends too.

Used Caledonian maybe 10 times over the years ..Just back from Llandudno.. New Loretta.. 4 day holiday.. The room we were allocated was Absolutely awful.. like being in fawlty towers.. . Room 123. .. .We tried to come home early ..But only one place available on the home coming bus.. Complete waste of money .. it’s unlikely we will use your company again.. if possible we would like Martin Locks e.mail address to contact him direct ..

Booked this as 60th Birthday surprise for my sister. The biggest surprise was how bad the hotel was The Torbay Hotel in Torquay is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in we had to ask for our room to be cleaned as it had clearly not been for our arrival everything was dirty it was cleaned the day after but not again in our 4 day stay had to ask for clean towels as they had not been replaced at all. Food really bad really disappointed will not be going again

We went to the Edinburgh Tattoo with Caledonia Travel in August 2023. Stayed in the, 3 star, Brittania Hotel, which was dreadful and should not even be rated a 1 star! We waited 1.5 hours to get checked in, others waited longer. When we eventually got to our room it was disgusting; filthy windows; stained and un-hoovered carpets; dirty sink/bath; no hook to hang wet towels, curtain coming off the rail and very poor decor. The view from the room was of the reception roof which had empty cans, used vapes and other litter strewn around. Slept on top of the bed due to the uncleanliness of the room. The lounge/bar area was unpleasant and poorly furnished. We were informed the bar closed at 11pm despite it being a Friday during the Edinburgh Festival. The dining room was dull and set out like a canteen. Meals were self- service so food trays had to be carried from the lounge to dining area causing some difficulty for people with mobility difficulties. The choice of food was very basic and unappetising. Desserts were also left on a counter, uncovered for 2 hours, before meal time. We ate out in Edinburgh including breakfast the following day, which was an added expense but at least it was fresh and appetising. Caledonia Travel must have been aware of the poor online reviews for the Brittania Hotel yet continued to use it for overnight trips to the Edinburgh Tattoo. Coaches cannot park directly outside the Brittania Hotel! We witnessed people struggling to climb the hill to the coach due to mobility issues and breathing difficulties. It's a disgrace. I've done trips with Caledonia Travel before but will NEVER use them or recommend them again.

Been on a shirt break with your company to the Ayrshire coast and Loch lomond shores wouldn't go again we stayed at the Adomton Country House Hotel you can tell it dates back to the 11th century food lukewarm rooms dirty the first room didnt even look like it had been cleaned and excursions are OK if you want to go shopping every day not much of a scenic holiday wouldn't recommend this holiday maybe someone from the caledoian office should stay at the said hotel and see if its exetable to ask paying guests to use it also some of the kitchen staff were rude you couldn't even go out of an evening unless you were prepared to pay £15 for a taxi to go to Prestwick really disappointing holiday.

They changed my seating reservation without my knowledge…. They supposed to let the person in question who reserved the seat ,of any changes… used this travel company numerous occasions… sadly they have lost six customers now… bums on seats policy… they often change the itinerary without prior notice.. saying includes trip to Manchester. Then go to Salford keys.. not recommended…
