About Carphone Warehouse:

The Carphone Warehouse was founded in 1989 to bring mobile services to consumers. The market has always been complex and our aim from the very beginning has been to offer our customers simple, impartial advice while also offering outstanding value. As a result we have grown from a handful of stores operating exclusively in the UK selling mobile handsets and contracts, to a European-wide platform of over 1,500 stores in 10 countries, providing a wide range of mobile and residential telecoms services.

Nothing wrong with Carphone Warehouse but they need to remove their association with the iD mobile network. This virtual mobile company are technically challenged and incapable.

The useless network I have had thew misfortune of using. Does not work in busy areas such as airports (even if you have signals bars confirming network). You are unable to phone/text or use the web in these places. The customer service department are TERRIBLE!! They fob you off with incorrect information and send you round the houses rather than dealing with it themselves (such as telling you to send an email to another one of their own departments rather then sending it on your behalf.) Avoid this network, their deals seem to good to be true for a reason.

Bought a new galaxy s7 online only for 3 weeks later whilst on holiday the camera wouldn't focus the fast charge stopped working then it just turned itself off a day so on my return rang carphone warehouse who told me to take it into a store. I took it to Junction 32 at Castleford where the most unhelpful woman told me it would need sending away for repair as we were outside the 28 day exchange (bearing in mind if the phone had come from anywhere else they exchange up to 3 months old) and it could take up to 4 weeks so I've had a top end phone for 5 weeks and they want It for 4 weeks to fix oh and they didn't have any spare phones to offer me to keep me going whilst its repaired. Great! I only shopped with carphonewarehouse again because they had gone in with Dixons as they were always rubbish in the past but thought thing might have changed but obviously not still as rubbish and don't care about customers as ever. Never again will I spend money at Carphonewarehouse.

This is the worst phone company I have every had the displeasure of dealing with. I ordered a sim card online only to be told I needed to go into store to activate it. I then said I was leaving as I did not sign up for this. The women on the phone agreed and said I would not be charged for anything as I was leaving within 14 days of starting the rolling contract. All should have been fine and I would not have took the time out of my day yet again to write this review. But not this waste of space, company couldn't even cancel a contract and agree to what they promised me as they continued to charge my bank account. I have no cancelled the direct debit after noticing two payments have been made. I called up to get a refund only to be told I had to go into the store again. Are you actually being serious? Why? why should I waste more of my life sorting out problems created by this unfit so called mobile phone parasite of a company. I hope you get shut down for the sake of humanity!

Worst service ever. No phone after 6 days as it didn't arrive in parcel, only charger! Called 6 times. Cut off 4 times - twice they couldn't deal with it and had to get someone to call me. No one did. Called again after weekend - tried to make a complaint but told manager busy hen phone went dead. Called again - got Indian call centre again and when I asked to be put through to do a survey on shocking customer survey phone went dead again. I cannot get a UK number to speak to someone of authority so instead I drove to a shop. They then called a dept in the UK and sorted my problem of missing phone in 2 mins. I will never ever use them for anything again which is a Shane as their UK sales office was excellent.

Placed an order, paid for it then got an email saying that the item I ordered is out of stock. I was told to wait another two(!) weeks. Also it was said in the email that money will not be deducted from my bank account. The money was taken from my account in the same day. Called customer service 5 times to cancel and get the refund, I was told will take up to 14 days for the money to reach my account. Made a complaint online and 5 days later still havent heard back from them. The worse company that I have ever used....DO NOT USE THE ONLINE SERVICE, they will still your money and will give you headaches trying to get your money back. DO NOT RECOMMEND|!!!!

Ordered a phone on their website. Was told it would be a next day delivery and a week later, have now been told because of a 'security error' my order didn't go through. They lost my order which I paid over £500 for. Beyond angry and frustrated. Never again Carphone Warehouse.

This company are saying I incorrectly gave them my debit card details wrong over the phone to refund my money, despite being sent multiple orders using same debit card and are now refusing to pay back my money of a refund. They have confirmed receipt of phone but won't return the up front cost back to me. Please can someone help me? I have tried the Financial Ombudsman - apparently Carphone Warehouse are not obligated to communicate and therefore can get away with stuff like this. I'm out a fortune sending recorded delivery letters. I'm afraid to claim through small claims court in case I mistakenly called a digit out wrong while being really upset in their branch while speaking on the telephone to their main customer services - which are completely useless and they win the case. Surely, I have some rights to my money back despite calling a digit out wrong - just in case I did. I emailed my details to them sent them via recorded mail on numerous occasions this is ongoing 6 mths.

My customer care from Charlotte in Nottingham Albert St was outstanding. I have a disability, I am deaf and Charlotte not only went over and above her duty of care but treated me like a normal human being. This does not happen often! You must very proud to have such fantastic staff represent you. Thanks again

Lied to about details of contract was told that when setting up new fone I could contact my provider and I would get 12 months sky sport and Spotify only to be told that it needs to be done at time of sighting contract. Also I went for the Samsung Galaxy edge 7 as I was told that I could use it with my television, this I have since found out to be untrue if you are buying as a package. Have tried to return within 14 days but CARPHONE warehouse won't take it back. Real shoddy customer care all they are interested in is getting the sales

Techno virgin hubby ripped off by cold calling from carphone warehouse. Said phoning on behalf of EE. He was signed into a 24 month contract with a poor quality phone, Galaxy Young 2, tariff is to small for what his history would have shown them and with no mb's. (300 minutes and 500 text.) Has been going over minutes limit every month so has been costing him over £30 month! EE have confirmed it was Carphone Warephone who called him. His is now stuck in this contract and all EE can do is give him free call from 7pm to 7am.

I purchased my upgrade online, I request the delivery at home, I don't know for what reason but the phone has been, apparently, delivered to my neighbor, even if we don't have any proofs of it, and even if online says clearly ''DPD will leave a card, telling you they tried to deliver. Please call the number on the card to arrange a convenient time for your order to be delivered.'' and since then they never help me, left me without phone for now 3 months, keep paying my monthly contract, saying that i have to deal myself with police, or DPD, it is not them problem...(even police said why do i need to deal with something that i have never received??) THANKS FOR THE GREAT EXPERIENCE CARPHONE WAREHOUSE.

On Thursday 31st of March 2016, I have purchased a new phone, iPhone SE. After 10 years I have decided to change my carrier service, and decided to go for Vodafone as it seemed to be the cheapest. I have chosen my contract plan, purchased the iPhone SE online and collected it the same in Carphone Warehouse which was based in Currys. Very impressed, curious and excited I have rushed home to try out the new phone, activate the sim and its connection around. However, unexpectedly, when after the sim card was inserted, there was no service whatsoever in the left hand corner which i thought was quite normal and hoped it would change in couple of minutes and enable me to activate my sim and be able to use my new iPhone. It did not do that though, so I tried googling information to solve my problem the same day and activate my sim. I found that I had to register on the Vodafone website, so I have. However, Vodafone requires a number, the sim number in other words, in order to be able to register. Following this, I have searched for ways of how to find out my new number despite the fact that my sim was still not activate. On the Vodafone brochure it has said that if you want to find out your number, call * #100#. When I did, it come up with ‘Error perfoming request, Unknown error.’ Which did actually make sense, as I tried to ring a number to find out my own number in oder for Vodafone to activate my sim. But how the hell am i meant to find out my number if my phone has no service and i require service for Vodafone to activate my number, but i can’t find out my number without my sim being activated? Nonsense. Absolute nonsense. Following this, I have visited Vodafone website and tried to get help from the live chat which it offered. After 30 minutes of pointless questions provided by the employee, I got told to wait 24 hours and the card will activate by itself. After 24 hours, my phone still had no service, so I have decided to use the live chat again. After further 30 wasted minutes, I got told to ring their Customer Service, and that apparently they are not aware of anything and told me to ring the company therefore Carphone Warehouse where I purchased the phone from. Ok, I have rang Carphone Warehouse just like I got told by Vodafone and they have also told me that they are not aware of anything and to ring Vodafone. I was very unimpressed as it have seemed like they was shifting the blame from one company on another. Following day, I got fed up and went to Carphone Warehouse myself, to which I was made to wait for additional 20 minutes for someone to actually serve their customer, while the staff must of thought I was invisible as about 10 staff was walking around probably discussing which one of them should come and serve me. When someone actually came, additional 10 minutes was wasted of mine which consisted of the staff looking into a computer to which he told me there was an error with Vodafone. 10 bloody minutes for him to tell me there was an error? Really? Does he not think I already bloody know that after all this time?! I came there to get it sorted and not to be told something I already knew. Additionally he has concluded that if I want a new sim, I have to pay extra £60, and if I would wish to keep the old one, he would ring up Vodafone Monday, and by Tuesday the sim would be activated. Funnily enough, it is Thursday today, and guess what? I still have NO SERVICE :) …Great service. Vodafone does not want to help Carphone Warehouse, and instead of looking after their customers which pay them, they shift the blame on each other :) I still have my contracted iPhone SE which I pay for but i cannot use it. The joys :)))

I found an I-phone 5 SE on offer on-line and went into the Carphone shop in the Curry's store in Rochdale. They offer a price match promise on one of their leaflets which states 'if you find a cheaper deal than ours on any smartphone, we'll match it and pay for your first month'. On speaking to an assistant I was told that because it was not with with a 1st party and was a special deal that it did not count. I always thought that if it states'any deal' that was what was intended. Sadly not!

I've had mixed service and phones. I bought a Windows Lucia from them for work and on their own ID network. It's been terrible, I can't reply to emails as the cursor jumps all over the place, the network coverage isn't good in rural Devon nor in my house in central Plymouth. I want to return the phone as its not fit for purpose. Told in shop have to deal with head office so I will do that. On the plus side when I asked for a decent phone for work in the store in George St Plymouth the service was excellent. I have an iPhone 5 with Vodafone and very pleased. If head office do something about my Windows phone or the termination I will be even more pleased. So try George St and go by their recommends.
