Hired a van with Easirent in November 2018 - first time I had use the company. I arrived on time to pick up the vehicle, but the van was not ready and arrived over an hour after the agreed collection time. When I had finished with the van I called the company to find out where the drop-off point was (it had not been provided previously) and was told it was at an NCP car park and given a postcode. What they did not mention was that there are 2 NCP car parks at the same postcode - the first one I arrived at was the wrong one. I was in the car park for around 20 minutes before managing to phone the company again to confirm it was the other NCP car park. Nearly 3 months after I had returned the van I received an email from Easirent. It contained an attached 'final notification' of a parking charge notification from NCP and stated that, because of failure to act on the earlier notifications, the charge was now £100. The date on the letter was 19/12/18 with a payment deadline of 02/01/19. Easirent only emailed this to me on 28/01/19 - nearly a month after the payment deadline. To this day they have not provided me any information regarding the 'earlier notifications'. They have also charged me £55 as an 'administration fee' for handling the parking charge notification. They are now not replying to any of my communication to try to clarify the matter. Overall a very unsatisfactory experience using this company. I will not be using Easirent again and could not recommend it to anyone else.

Had to leave the office without a car as I wasn't going to pay the price for their insurance which was three times the rental price. I ended up going to Europcar and getting a car cheaper than what Easirent was with their inflated insurance scam, and I could leave a small deposit on my debit card. It's a shame you can't give 0 stars as that's what this rip off company deserves.

Went to pick the car up which should have been ready for 17.30 on Monday 28th Jan. Checked the car for damage and once completed the guys tried to open the bonnet as the car required washer fluid. After trying for 10 minutes and being unable to open the bonnet it was then decided that another car would have to used. This was checked by the light from a mobile phone with the assurance that all damage was on their system so if anything had been missed it could be verified. Upon returning the car on the 1st Feb, earlier than agreed, the guy who checked for damage went straight to the back of the car and found a scratch that hadn’t been seen when picking the car up. Bear in mind the weather conditions on the Friday where it had been snowing, so lots of spray and dirt so the back of car quite heavily coated in spray from the roads this was quite some achievement. At no time did he check the rest of the car. I was then advised that he would check their system to see if this scratch had been reported before. He couldn’t tell me whether it had been recorded but advised me that customer services would be in touch via email regarding this, and would advise if any money was to be deducted. No communication from Easirent but £270 has been deducted from my card on 2nd February.

Rude staff member, who is rarely at the desk and never apologises for anything. Arrogant, combative and thoroughly unpleasant. Literally the worst experience I have ever had renting a car anywhere in the world. At the Aberdeen branch.

Con merchants and fraudsters. Released a car to me at 10pm at night with Easirent employee using a mobile phone torch to do the precheck. Returned car within 17 hours having driven just over 80 miles later to be told I had damaged a wing mirror and would be charged £270! I have driven for over 20 years with clean licence and no accidents and there was no way I could have done this alleged damage given the route I drove and parked. Do yourself a favour and avoid these fraudsters and use a reputable company.

Never use Easirent at BELFAST INTERNATIONAL or any other outlet. They may be cheap but that is just a way of getting you through the door. Once there you are at the mercy of all manner of scams to get you to pay extras for fuel, insurance, fictitious damage etc etc. They will insist on ridiculous proof of address with utility bills etc as per the very small print and unlike all other car rental providers - as a way of extracting expensive excess insurance at £70.00 for two days? That's what they did to me. And the BELFAST INTERNATIONAL Easirent is a 20 mins drive off site by their van and they keep you waiting up to half an hour. Once you are in their office prepare to have your pockets hoovered!

dont touch this company - they will work out far more expensive than you expect. Dodgy as ...... cost me a fortune and I thought I'd not been charged when booked on line so paid in the office only to find there was an extra £180 to pay for insurance and they also had so many rules about filling the car up within 5 miles of drop off, having a receipt to prove it. Car service light was on from collection, booked a Ford focus, got a Renault !! small print says you pay for insurance but realistically aren't covered for even a damaged tyre of windscreen (that could be a no-fault chip etc), so you could lose upto £1500 from your pre-authorised credit card.... I took 40 picture of the car before driving it away and recorded every single scratch, chip, dent and scrape to alloys - I made it clear I wasn't going to be paying for damage I didn't do. Save yourself cash and hassle - go to one of the big boys who wont rip you off and will treat you with more respect. These guys need exposing and shutting down. They advertise cheap rentals but in reality that is definitely not what you get - and you get the headache that you could get scammed out of your deposit or more once they have your card details...... read the reviews and do the sensible thing

I recently made an online booking for a rental car + insurance with easirent.com. Once arrived at Manchester Airport, I waited for my parents flying in from another airport and rang up the company for pick up. I had to call 4 times before we finally got picked up more than 1 hour later. At the easirent office, an advisor set up a contract for us and made us sign on a signpad. There was no printed contract or cost summary. Having payed everything online when I booked the car, I was not expecting hidden costs. The advisor briefly outlined that there was a deposit to pay for fuel and in case we had an accident but that everything would be reimbursed once I returned the car. Having booked cars online before, I thought this was a normal procedure because a deposit is usually withhold at car collection. Only when I checked my email the day after, I found that I had been charged 487£! When I returned the car (4 days later), the manager gave vague explanations such as ‘I showed up 3 hours later than my plane landed which is why the first booking was cancelled and a new contract had to be set up’. After long discussion, I was told that the only thing I could do was to contact the head office the next day. While talking to other customers outside the easirent office, I realised that providing customers with dubious information to make them sign intransparent car rental agreements seems to be common practice. The customers said they were charged 300£ extra because easirent would not accept their credit card although apparently these cards were usually working just perfectly well. Our charges included, for instance, a 180£ fee because the lead driver and the credit card holder were not the same person. I specifically asked whether there would be extra charges for this matter twice (over the phone and in person) before signing anything and I was reassured that there were no extra costs. I was charged 100£ for upgrades that I had never asked for and honestly still don’t know what those upgrades entailed. I was charged 92£ for some extra insurance I had not asked for. The advisor told us about a 95£ fuel deposit which would be reimbursed if the car is returned full. We’re still waiting to receive the money.

Awful underhanded and deceitful company. Arrived at Belfast airport and called for shuttle bus to come get us - was promised “be there in 15-20mins”. Nobody came. Called again “we just coming now”: nobody came. 1 hour later after another call “I promise I’m coming now”. Rock up with no apology just excuses. Then there is the rental. Hidden fees, poor explanations, attitude problems, and just overall liars. I’ve been charged incorrectly because of a glitch in their IT system and now I have to put it in writing to them. Rediclous after it was their fault. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. I’d rather get a horse and cart next time than ever have to give this shambles of an organisation my money.

They took an unlawful charge at collection ('fuel deposit') which wasn't in any of the communication or paper work on booking. They refused to allow the rental unless £95 was debited from my card (which was much more than the entire cost of the booking). The car was dirty, and the petrol tank was only three quarters full. On return I had to bring the car back with a full tank so paid out an additional £25 on fuel that they won't refund. They also are not refunding the £1500 deposit despite the car being returned and it being cleared for return. This outfit (I used the Heathrow branch) should be avoided at all costs.

A really racist and discriminatory company. If really want to avoid a bad experience, avoid them. I have been living in Newcastle for the last 7 years, and never had an experience like this. The manager was extremely rude and abusive. I have provide them with every proof of address details they require but the more I did, the more they asked. Showed them bank statements and council tax bill, and the manager said to me how do I know these are not fabricated? , Showed the statements directly from my Mobile bank app, still. He wanted me to show my mortgage documents that I left at home. How on earth , I would get that. This is purely because of my race. Taking this further, in the meantime, if you a foreigner or something like that, this is the worse place you can go to, I had to stop myself not to punch the manager.

Business model is based on getting you in with a cheap hire and then hitting you with huge fees for minor damage that they knew about before the hire. My issues with the hire; 1- was told fuel gauge was broken and not indicating as full on pick up. Magically the fuel gauge was showing on fuel when I fueled up. 2- clown on reception tried to sell me a tank of fuel for 95 ponds. It costs 70 to fill it up. 3 - they indicated zero damage on the inspection form at pick up. The car clearly had dink’s all over it. Their business model is to scam you, These people are scum. Go to a proper hire company staffed by humans.

Dear sir/madam,Hereby I would like to file a complaint. Our car rental was not even close as you would expect from a decent company. When we arrived at the pickup point, we immediatly called the shuttle. They didnt answer the phone. After 20minutes someone answered. There would be a shuttle in 15minutes. 35minutes after we tried to call, still no shuttle. We tried to call again, but no one responded. After waiting for 1hour and 10 minutes in 10 degrees celsiuis. We took a taxi that did cost 15euro.When arriving at Easicar, it was very busy. 4 employees of easirent were at location. But only 1 of them was able to let us signs contracts etc. The other 3 were doing nothing. Very inefficient. When we were at the dropoff point at then end of our rental, we had to wait 30minutes for pickup back to the airport. The people there were very unhelpful and the way that guy was driving, was not good either.Overall the experience with easirent is horrible. I really hope you guys can give me any refund or compensate me for the extra expense we had to make. This is not how you treat customers.Melvin

Please don't not use this car hire company. The are cheap on hire charge but they con you by charging you totally unsubstantiated damages. I hire a seven seater from their Southampton branch in mid Dec 2018. I did not buy their excess insurance as I have my own. Upon returning the car, a staff checked the car for any damage, and said there are a few very minor scratches that were not recorded and he had to checked with the HQ to see if they were logged. So nothing was agreed or disagreed at that point. But my credit card deposit was locked for a week. Then they sent me an invoice of £365 total for a scratched wing mirror, some minor scratches and £75 admin charge. Upon queried about all these damages that had not be agreed, they said that they were entitled to deduct money from my deposit as that's the contract. I can only say that they are robbers and anybody using them will risk being robbed. Don't touch them with barge pole.

They had sold out of the class of car I’d booked so after waiting half an hour for pickup at Belfast International then driving 15 minutes to the office they then had the cheek to say I would have to pay an extra £120 to hire the next class up of car. After arguing for half an hour they returned me to the airport as I refused to pay extra because they ran out of the right class of cars. All other companies were booked out so I then paid £55 for a taxi. No refund yet.
