This is my second time of writing. I am still waiting for a refund on the hedge trimmer/chainsaw that I had to return as the battery that was supposed to come with it never arrived. It has been over 2 weeks. Each time I phone they promise that they will refund me and they never do, I am really not sure what to do next.

I ordered a telescopic chainsaw/ hedge trimmer from this company on 17 May they took the £164.97 payment the next day. I was aware at the time that the item was out of stock, however I received a confirmation of my order. Two weeks went by and I heard nothing, sent an email and was told item was expected on 15 June. Rang on 16 June to ensure delivery but was told item was still out of stock and not expected until either 22 June or 26 June but not sure. I cancelled my order and requested a refund. Despite numerous calls and emails, nearly 14 days later I have still not received a refund. They have tried to fob me off by saying it has gone to PayPal despite the fact I paid by debit card. My last email informed them that legally the refund must be with me by 14 days, after which I will take further action. I read that previous contributors have mentioned one of the directors but there are two the main shareholder is David Charles Hatchard who actually owns 90% of the shares.... So he is your go to guy!

We purchased the multi garden hedge trimmer/chain saw/and strimmer earlier this year from Tragos in Newton Abbott. Devon we have had to take it back twice so far as the pole jammed and theStrimmer keeps breaking. Trago have been great. But the tool is a pain. When it works its great. But we cannot keep get it to work for more than a few minutes, especially the strimmer at no time since we had the apparatus has the Strimmer worked properly the cord keeps breaking and not realising more twine when required. I have spoken to Trago and they have advised what to do and suggested I used a thicker twine and it still does not work. So far I would NOT recommend Eckman to anybody I feel I have wasted over a £100 pounds

I have three Eckman cordless tools purchased from My smart Buys. I had to get two new lithium batteries recelled indepently but I have been trying to replace a mains charger for two months without a reply , I have even written to the CEO without any response This is just about the lousiest firm I have ever dealt , or tried to deal with It is a pity because the tools are quite good when working My advice is to keep well away from these cowboys An frustrated 80 year old

Have nothing to do with this company, they sell inferior shoddy products at inflated prices and ignore any contact made. Beware.

I have emailed Susan Clarke of Eckman 9 times and phoned the company 3 times to try to buy a replacement charger for my Eckman mower. I also returned a product they sent in error via the post office which they claim they have not received so no refund as of yet, In desperation my last email asked for the contact details of the company's C.E.O, to date this request has been ignored. My 1st contact with the Eckman " Helpline " was on the 20th of April and here we are 2 months later with no help whatsoever. Dave Woods

I ordered a sonic cat repeller from eckman on the 1st June and the order was confirmed automatically on the same day providing an order number. 5 days later I had heard nothing so e-mailed them. After another three days they replied saying they could not trace my order without my address, despite the fact that I had quoted the order number they provided in their confirmation of order. I immediately provided them with my full address. Another 5 days and I had still heard nothing so I e-mailed them again. Finally, on the 16th June I received an e-mail advising me that the item ordered was out of stock and a further supply was not expected until July. To add insult to injury I discovered they had taken the money from my credit card on the day after they received my order, despite the item being out of stock, and without advising me.

Purchased a 4 stroke multi-tool, the "saftey" guard ripped apart on 1st use throwing debris accross the garden at great force, lucky the kids were in the house. Returned the item as faulty for a full refund which was promised in 3-5 days - 13 days later I am having to try to get a charge back because Eckman have STILL NOT given the money back and are not responding to eamils DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NON EXISTANT!!

Purchased a Eckman elite 2 in 1 telescopic chain saw and hedge trimmer last year and used twice. went to use yesterday and it is almost as though the chainsaw is too heavy for the pole as when I was holding out horizontal the plastic fitting that the chainsaw or hedge trimmer clips into just snapped, could have been dangerous as well had I not been aware. Called Eckman this morning and told no parts available and they did not own the company that sold me the item so are not responsable for any warranty. Very poor. Read the rest of the reviews and stay well away from this company.

Eckman Garden Products have the customer service also the worst garden maintenance products reliability I have ever dealt with. After purchasing 2 of their garden products from My Smart Buy over the past 2 years and having to replace the re-chargeable batterys which still failed to hold charge after approx 6 months of medium use. The company My Smart Buy went into liquidation and when I looked up Eckman customer services, I was directed to a company who had bought the brand name and stock from the liquidators. However this company allthough holding the selling trade name of Eckman tokd me that my problem did not lie with them. When I asked if they could supply me a contact number of the company where they buy there Eckman Products in from the person said " I don't know who that is" ! It seems to me they are witholding information, so I asked them to find out the companys address and telephone number for me to contact Eckman, I'me still waiting..... When I spoke to Citizens advice the lady agreed and advised me to submit a formal complaint by contacting them and asking about how to pursue the complaints procedure. Customers ard very vunerable to companys such as these, and are often diverted from one number to another in the hope that botedom will set in and there interest in following up this complaint dwindles and dies. The mass production of these faulty products is to common and the publuc are often the victim who due to poor customer service will be the victim.

I am absolutely disgusted with the poor service I have received from Eckman. I purchased the 9ft telescopic hedge trimmer last year and I just used it twice for 20 minutes. It was packed away for the winter and took it out recently to use and recharged the battery, it seemed a bit strange as it charged very quickly. I plugged it into the machine but after a few seconds it died. I repeated the procedure after waiting the recommended 30 minutes, recharged the battery but exactly the same thing happened. The machine is now not any good to any one, I cant use it, sell it or give it away. I contacted Eckman, who were just as useless. I would have to purchase a new battery at a cost of £40+. I also wrote a letter explaining the above but absolutely no reply. I have just come off the phone after yet another attempt to get some redress I spoke to someone called Ann who said that she could sell me a new battery !! I asked to speak to higher authority only to be told that she would ring me back I left a number but would be surprised if it happens. I do think that the company should be brought to task. My son is a lawyer in London and I have not as yet spoken to him about this, but if a response is not forthcoming then I shall be forced to. I am an elderly pensioner and cant afford to squander money on useless machinery. Come on Eckman take responsibility for the products you sell. Jon

Bought a telescopic hedge trimmer 2 years ago , battery is now not charging properly . Have tried to contact Eckman but get no reply. Will not buy from them again. M tarry.

As an 79yr old bloke l bought battery garden equipment from Eckmans to help me last year, this year went to use the and the batteries only lasted two minutes, charged them again and the same thing happened. On emailing them was told had to get new batteries at nearly £40.00 each, on being an OAP its just to much, so now l have equipment that is useless. I also tried to ring the but get no answer.The company should be taken to court as the batteries are no way up to standard. A very unhappy old bloke!!!

I have read the reviews and am also having the same issues re obtaining a battery for my four Eckman products. The previous battery which was less than a year old failed. I have phoned and emailed the company. Very little sympathy that's for sure. Feel like contacting BBC's Watchdog for help!!!! Steve Cross. Essex

I have just rang again to find out when 18V battery being delivered not now until 22 June previously told.would be in 20 May, ,14 May and before that early May . Just been told this is a very popular product but it comes without battery and this is extra. I order mine in December delivered in February not asked for it to be returned this appears to be a good way to get money in supplying something that is not fit for purpose

Ordered a lithium battery operated hedge trimmer and chainsaw in February and after chasing it arrived in late March batteryless. I rang them up and they oh yes it will be with you shortly. Several emails later told they had a delivery from suppliers on 5 May and my battery would dispatch asap. 5 May came and went more emails and telephone calls and now told delivery on 22 June. They also said they had they had known about this problem and had been sending out letters, none of course ever arrived and now they have a new catalogue out, sent to me still advertsing the item despite them knowing they have no chance of delivering it. This company is the worst organised British company I have ever come across, poor service from delivery through to customer service which is basically non existent and just deals somewhere between half truths and lies. I have risked buying stuff from China before and its arrived in 5 days, how come Eckman haven't sacked their suppliers and gone elsewhere if they are so bad, an absolute shower. DON'T buy from them!!!!

I ordered several items in April and was informed that 2 of the items were out of stock and was gived delivery dates for those. I requested that all the items could be delivered together. Some items turned up but as there was no extending chainsaw yet I queried the delivery date. On the previous delivery note it stated 20/05/15 in stock. I phoned today ( 26/5/15) to see if the item had been despatched. I was unbelievably given a new approximate date of delivery to Eckman of 27/6/15!! I queried why they had not informed me and the lady said "Sorry, we should have sent you a letter". I asked for refund and cancellation so I can get one elsewhere and was told it should be in my bank in 5 days. They take the money straight out when you place an order ( Even when not in stock ) so why can"t they refund immediately!!! I won"t be purchasing from them again

I ordered muti-purpose chainsaw, hedge trimmer, strimmer/ brush cutter pack, I new it was out of stock due to its popularity and was prepared to wait until new stock wasexpected on 27th April, the package was delivered by Yodel and was in an appalling state with some items protruding through the side of aboxwithout any internal packing. The package had been handled so roughly in transit coursing Yodel to attempt repackaging. The attempt to repackage was terrible and in the process essential parts where lost. I contacted Eckman and arrangements where made by them for a swift collection and acomplete new package was received within five days. I am highly delighted with the unit,it seems to me that most of the problem lies with the packaging and Yodel only minor improvements are needed for me to give Eckman 5 stars. I Swales, East Yorkshire.

I ordered an Eckman strimmer, chainsaw, hedge trimmer, brush cutter set, the first one came smashed up in it's box, so we arranged for it's return and replacement. Over a month later it was collected and replaced in one piece, hopefully I put it all together and used the strimmer, after 15 minutes the cheap plastic fittings broke apart making it unusable. The design is poor and bad quality, instructions are poor, basically avoid this product and buy something better.
