Product arrived faulty, email them on the day, several days letter I am still waiting for a returns number. Very poor customer focus.

Everyone should avoid this company - it has previous form. One of the directors is Melvyn Eden who was behind the company 'My Smart Buy' which previously sold Eckman products. They went bust a little while ago leaving all customers without warranty or any kind of service. Now Mr Eden pops up again with a 'born again company' - Eckman Ltd. Most of the products are useless and have a very short usable life like the products I bought.

phone eckman regarding a spare for my tiller x.gt 44.3 was suppose to phone me back instead i phoned again 3 days later still said will phone again still waiting

1 star is too much for this cheap quality company. Don't expect your product to last 12 months and if it doesn't don't expect the company to be there to cover your warranty.

Do not buy from this company, they have recently bought out the name Eckman and do not support any warranties from the previous company. Don't expect your product to be covered in 6months time. Absolutely rubbish customer service not even discounting for a new battery for my 11 month old hedge trimmer. Ps eckman lithium batteries use cheap cells so don't expect them to last.

Had a marvellous little tiller worked a treat for years, gromet in fuel tank started leaking so contacted Eckman through "spares" on their website, couldn't find part, so emailed them. Reply was "we don't do spares". Think twice about purchasing one of their machines!!

Thank you for your recent review I apologise for the delay. We here at Eckman only do limited spares. If you purchased your product 2 years ago that would have been from a company called my smart buy who actually went into liquidation . We took on the Eckman brand name but not exsisting customers I will email you my details to see if the part that you were looking for is one that I can get hold of.

1 star is one too many. After many emails chasing a promised refund, after many days of silence interspersed with the odd excuse and delaying tactic not to pay me - I sent one last one today and made reference to my customer and order number. The excuse this time was "let me have your address including post code and I'll look into it" So, they cannot get my address from my customer and order number??!! I've had everything including "we haven't had it back yet" (14 days after the courier they arranged collected it) to "it will take up to 21 days and then another 10 for the refund to be issued" Trading standards, solicitor and credit card company for me tomorrow morning. These people should not be allowed to trade in the UK

In december I order an extending hedgecutter and chainsaw which was delivered but since then I have been waiting for the battery to be delivered. If not received soon will be asking for complete refund with compensation why sell something they know will not work. Would they buy a car without wheels

I ordered 4 15-LED Motion Sensor Light (2 x LED Sensor Light + 1 FREE). When they arrived the free lights had not been included so I got 4 instead of 6. Of the 4 lights 1 didn't work. I rang to complain and was told it was a packing error and they were now out of stock. They would be sent to me when new stock arrived. For the light that didn't work I was asked to repack it and post it back to them. I complained but was told they would not send out a replacement until they had the broken one back. I finally reminded the woman that the law was quite clear on this matter and they were responsible and they should either replace it or refund my money. They then agreed to refund my money for the broken light. I haven't as yet got my free ones or my refund. They were just trying it on and I will not deal with them again.

Following my 2 previous reviews, Eckman still failed to address the problem and following my reporting the matter to my Credit Card company, the money was returned to me on the 16th of April. I have also referred the whole matter to Trading Standards who will take whatever action they consider appropriate. This Organisation should not be allowed to trade in this Country and anyone who is seriously considering making a purchase from them cannot say they have not been warned because you could quite conceivably be saying goodbye to your money, at least for a period of time and they are showing all the hallmarks of going 'BUST,. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

Following my previous comments about the order that never materialised,this is a copy of an email that I have sent to Eckman's on Tuesday the 14th of April which reads:- On Friday the 10th of April, I contacted your Company to cancel an order that I had placed with you on the 25th of March because following an email to you and 2 previous phone calls to yourselves and without you responding as you said you would, you have still failed to deliver the goods. The order no was *****. I demanded that you credit my account with the amount that you had deducted from my credit card on the 25th of March which was £213-97, on the same day. I now find out that in the usual efficient and competent manner which I have now come to expect from Eckman, the following day, the 11th of April, you credited my account with £39-99. Who? Why? What? is there a single person in the whole of the complete Organisation capable of doing the job for which they are paid. You still owe me a balance of £173-98. Where is it? i am not in the Business of being a Money Lender and I now consider that you are bordering on theft and deception. You now have 48 hours to correct the damage you have caused or the matter will be referred to the Police. Chris Shyne P.S. Don't even use a 20 foot barge pole

Thank you for your review as per my previous reply I can confirm that the full refund was completed 16th April, the reason for the 39.99 refund was for the battery that we cancelled off your order and the balance of 173.98 was done on the 16th April. I again apologise for the delay and inconvenience caused in this matter and the hassle that you have had with your order

I placed an order for a 36v telescopic hedge trimmer and chainsaw on the 25th of March 2015 and £213-97 was charged against my credit card that same day. The web site states delivery would be made within 5 working days. Allowing for holidays I rang the Company after 7 workig days to find out where my order as. Told it had been despatched on the 27th of March and it was on it's way. One week later, I rang again and was told it had been despatched on the 25th and they would chase the Currier, Yodal, and would ring me back. All these calls are on a Premium rate charge. No call was made back to me so I sent an email again asking what was happening. Again, no response to email. Friday, the 10th of April I made the third telephone call and was told that they were still awaiting response from Currier. Told them to cancel the order and credit back my payment and told them to do it the same day. Was told it would take 3-5 days to do this and I then threatened them with Trading Standards. I will now see when the credit is done. I have never experienced such appalling customer service from any company I have ever dealt with and as a former Business owner, my advice is go back to basics and learn how to run a Company properly and remember without customers you will not have a Company and you will be all out of work. DO NOT TOUCH THIS FIRM WITH THE PROVERBIAL 10 FOOT BARGE POLE BECAUSE ALL YOU WILL GET IS GRIEF AND HASSLE. Chris Shyne Oldham

I ORDERED A 4 STROKE GARDEN MULTI TOOL ON NOV 22 2014 WAITED NOTHING ARRIVED TOLD IT WAS LOST IN WAREHOUSE WAITED AGAIN 4 WEEKS MUST HAVE SPENT £3 ON PHONE JUST TRYING TO TALK TO SOMEONE AGAIN TOLD THEY WOULD FOLLOW IT UP HEARD NOTHING SO TRIED EMAILING TOLD IT WAS OUT OF STOCK TILL MARCH 23 I GOT A REFUND AND ORDERED AGAIN THINKING I HAD A BETTER CHANCE GETTING ONE,I EMAILED 30 MARCH TOLD IT HAD BEEN SENT OUT AND ALLOW 7 DAYS HERE WE ARE APRIL 10 GOT NOTHING NO ONE SEEMS TO CARE

Very poor customer service rang 3 or 4 times kept being fobbed off with different time scales their e-maiI system says we will contact you in 24 hours nothing happened all I need to know is how much is a battery charger as it has broken with less than 1 years service.

Mine is a more positive review than most of the others, so I thought it only fair to record it. I bought the petrol hedgecotter etc backpack kit. This arrived in 2 packages via Yodel. A substantial well made and finished machine. Unfortunately the chainsaw guide bar was missing - evidence suggests that one package had broken open in transit and in repacking the chainsaw bar got lost. I asked for a spare to be sent but was told that this item not carried as a spare - whole kit would have to be returned. I repacked the packages and they were collected by Yodel, all arranged and paid for by Eckman. I was offered the option of a complete replacement kit, or money back. I had now become aware that there might be a problem in getting engine and other spares after the 12 month guarantee period and I would expect this equipment to be repairable and to be serviceable fior some years so, reluctantly, I opted for money back. This arrived within 2 or 3 days. If I could have been sure about future availability of spares I would have kept the kit, and would have given a five star rating - in the circumstances I give four. Just got and tried their 7.2v electric path weeder and used for first time. Web Description states 40min use from battery but I get about 20 (as it states on box when it arrived). I got it for a monobloc drive, but was lucky to cover about 2sq m before it died. Also on checking the wear on the brush I estimate it has lost about 20% of its life. Certainly not as described and a waste of money. It's easier and cheaper with a path clearing steel brush. Don't buy if for monobloc use, maybe ok for slabs though.

Update on UNBELIEVABLE RUDENESS. Today my wife decided to call Eckman regarding chainsaw part, just out of curiosity, after 15 mins of being held in a queue was finally put through to the parts department. My wife explained the details regarding the other calls I had made and that its was now three weeks and still NO one had called back.The operator took the model number instantly she said the part does not come up on the screen, because that model is an old model and they do not do parts for anymore. ( just to inform you all the part I wanted was for the telescopic chainsaw It's less than 4 yrs old and has been used roughly 5 or 6 times before the drive shaft teeth wore down )......The End ....

UNBELIEVABLE RUDENESS After a number of phone calls to the parts department and being told that someone would call back which never happen, I decided to call again. I was informed by a member of staff that I needed to send a photograph of the part I needed, I completely understand that that was a good way making sure that the correct part was ordered, but I did informed this person that on my last two calls I wasn't told this information and if I had known this I would have sent a photograph earlier, before I could finish what I was saying this woman started over talking me and saying don't speak to her in that manner in the end her rudeness got the better off me so I put the phone down. Even though I reported this to a member of the customer service team and yet another call to find were my part is all I am being told is that the manufacture hasn't got back to them. I believe this unhelpfulness is due to the complaint I put in regarding this staff member, What I would like to make plainly clear is that I suffer from Tinnitus so speaking on the phone sometimes is quite difficult, It wouldn't be to my advance to be rude to someone that I am speaking to on the phone. So now after two weeks of waiting I still have not had a phone call or a price on how much this part will cost and to be perfectly honest I'm thinking of taking my money somewhere else that appreciates their customers.

thankyou for your review I must apologise for the way that your query has been dealt with. Unfortunately we do not supply all parts but we do try and get as many as we possibly can and normally we would of course notify customers to let them know I am apologise that in this instance this has not happened
