Very poor customer service. Ordered a bike back in June and specifically selected one based on the availability stated on the website. Got an email saying delivery delayed until July... ok, then get another one saying delayed until September. Delivery date has passed with no further comms and when I checked my account online it said I had no active orders. So I contacted them (have had to do this via an online form as they have removed their phone contact details) and response back was that it is now delayed until January. So I am now being told I have a 7 month wait for something that they said I would get when ordered within a month. I purchased this using the cycle-2-work scheme so have actually been paying for a bike that I haven’t got and have no idea when it will actually arrive. I had to contact them again and if I want to cancel I now have to go through my HR to try and cancel this and get back the money I have already paid (which technically has been sitting in Evans bank account this whole time as they get paid up front) then set up a new cycle-2-work with another company get a bike that will actually be delivered. The response from Evans customer service has been so poor. I would advise people to go anywhere else but here if you have a choice.

Two Bikes ordered on 16th June 2020. One bikes was supposed to be delivered in August when i was on holiday, asked them to redeliver on a more convenient date however never heard anything from them for weeks. Emailed several times only got a response last week to say something like : “ As we have migrated our systems we are unable to ship the replacement Specialised Rockhopper and would also need to refund this. As you may be aware the pandemic has seen a huge demand not only from the UK, but Worldwide. Which has a large effect on shipment lead times and of course manufacturing processes which are out of our control. All of our stock availability dates come from our suppliers, which we then use to update our customer orders and our website just as soon as we receive them”. On top of that i got charged for paying the deposit by my credit card as a cash transaction?? they never mentioned this on their website that you will be charged if you use your credit card to pay for a deposit on an interest free agreement. Awful company, poor customer service, no phone number available. Hiding behind covid-19 and misleading their customers. If they can’t fulfil orders why take them in the first place just close your shop and your website until you can take supplies from your manufacturer. I am still waiting for the your finance company to refund my Deposit. When I contacted them they say that they haven’t received anything from Evans cycle yet. So come on Evans Cycle please initiate my refund so that i can take my business elsewhere. By the way I am worst off as a result of trying to buy bikes with you. Thanks.

Absolute utter rubbish!!! Pre Ordered a bike in June for July delivery, it’s now Almost October and my bike still hasn’t arrived!! No one can even give me an exact date. They say when it comes in, it’s still another 14 days for delivery, as if I havnt waited long enough. Quite happy to sell other bikes on a pre order but not prepared to offer me a different model as a replacement, Go figure! shocking customer service who don’t even bother to write proper sentences or proof read responses let alone actually solve your problem, no attempt at finding a resolution whatsoever and will just ignore you when they have had enough. Probably the worst company I have ever have the misfortune of dealing with. DO NOT SHOP HERE!! Disgusting!!!

If I could have given 0 stars I would have. I bought a bike out right from the Bristol store and collected it on Wednesday 24th June. I got it home and found a number of problems with the bike, loose headset, bars not straight, as if the bike was taken out of the box and given to me, had constant problems with it so I took it back, they so say fixed it and I tested it again, still broken so I took it back to be told it cant be fixed and had to have another bike. Second bike came eventually after 2 weeks and I had non stop problems with that one aswell, again as if it had been taken out of the box and given to me. I kept taking it back to be told that one as well was a write off and I needed to choose another. I found another and had to wait another 2 weeks, then another 2 weeks, then another 2 weeks until the point it was not coming and I had to get my money back. I had to do all the running around and chasing up, had to even tell them ways to fix the first bike as it was still in the shop and I was desperate for a bike. The staff do not know what is going on, never answer the phone and tell you what you want to hear to get you out. The bike techs that worked on my bike were shocking, bearings not set right, shock put in the wrong way, bars still not straight on return and loose bolts. I contacted customer relations and got a instore gift card, then I said I'm going to contact them again and got another gift card and asked to keep the issue in store, I guess so customer relations dont find out again. Now I have my money back which I had to do through the bank as they kept giving excuses why they couldn't give it back, I've gone to Trek and got a better bike with better customer service. DO NOT TRUST THIS WASTE OF SPACE COMPANY WITH YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!

So we bought a bike for our 5 year old boy when the lockdown started. the bike was received end of April. just after few months use which is by end of August the saddle (seat) of the cycle has been ripped from the middle and when we went to the store they started telling us that you have smashed the cycle and started taking pictures of the cycle from here and there. The guy at milton Keynes store started smashing the cycle on the ground trying his level best to touch the seat to the ground but when you drop the cycle side ways to the ground the seat doesn't touch the ground (common sense). when we asked him that that's not right they told us to leave the store and kept in taking the pictures of bike while we were walking out of the store. They ignored all social distancing and the guy started pushing my 3 year old out of the store by touching her. this was such an appalling situation and when I told him not to touch her he started saying that my 3 year is coming in his way. very very poor customer service and height of ignorance.

Sorry to hear of so many similar experiences. Like many of you Evans was eager to take over £2700 for merchandise it clearly had no intention of delivering. Email addresses provided by their own shop staff and on social media simply don’t work. No customer phone lines and no response to messenger. I ordered in July with an delayed collection date of 26th August. As with many of you this date came and went with no contact from Evans Cycles. I emailed numerous email addresses. No response. I sent a further email to another email address listed elsewhere. No response. I have sent two messages through Facebook messenger - No response. I have sent two messages through their embedded contact form. No response. Last week I called the store I ordered the bike through and staff said they would try and contact head office to find out what has happened to my order. Apparently the till systems were changed over and information was lost in the process. I didn’t hear back as those in head office did not respond to staffs request for information. I called the shop again today and was told that they still have no information. They suggested I try an email address that doesn’t work. I have had to cancel my order. DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING THROUGH THIS COMPANY- It’s practice’s are extremely dubious. There is a high probability they will simply take your money and that is the last you’ll hear from them.

Like everyone else here by the looks, I have ordered a bike on the bike2work scheme. Ordered in June, told I would have it in August. August came and went, told 12th September, came and went with NO communication whatsoever. The shop now can't track the order, customer service don't reply to e-mails and their customer service phone line is not working despite being 6+ months into lockdown and bicycle sales booming! Totally accept some delays but this is now a farce - I'm making payments and being told nothing. When pushed the guy in the shop (Edinburgh) said you should hopefully have it "this side of Christmas" - feel sorry for the guys in the shop as they're getting it in the neck. He accepted that the last 2 months have been a joke in terms of bikes and their customer service. They will take your money and don't really care if they can get you the bike even remotely close to when it is expected. Will not be buying anything else from here or SportsDirect. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

WORST COMPANY, WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. Purchased a SPECIALIZED mountain bike for my son assembled by Evans Cycles. On the same day i picked it up the front wheel fell off. My son ended up in A and E with a bad cut to his chin. Evans refused to take responsibility and passed the issue onto Sports Direct Head Office who have refused to respond to my e mails for over 2 months now. I am absolutely appalled that no action has been taken considering the seriousness of this incident. All i am asking for is a refund on the bike. Disgusting owners who should be ashamed. SPECIALIZED as a brand should look very closely at their retail distributors. Amature.

I TRIED LOOKING CHECKING MY ONLINE ACCOUNT FOR ANY UPDATES AND THAT IS NOW SAYING I HAVE NO ORDERS PENDING,I HAVE TRIED MULTIPLE TIMES TO CONTACT EVANS TO FIND OUT WHAT IS HAPPENING. NOW TO MAKE THINGS EVEN WORSE THEY HAVE STARTED CHARGING ME FOR A BIKE I DO NOT HAVE OR EVEN KNOW IS COMING. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NONE EXISTING. THEY JUST TAKE YOUR MONEY AND RUN.

poor customer service, over phone,do not respond to emails,if you pay over £100 to have your bike repeared, they find another fault and say its your fault and you will have to pay for it,even though you gave them your bike in full working order apart from one fault,if you have an E-bike dont get Evans to repair it,they dont own up to there mistakes,Chester manager simon has made Evans go down hill, not happy with there service or complaints office and wouldnt advise anyone to use them, used them in the past but since the lockdown and the reopen of the Chester store they seem to not care about the customer anymore,i have been in retail for over 13 years and have never treated or spoke to a customer like they have, wont be taking my bike there anymore

not happy with Evans manager simon he took over £100 for a repair i needed, after the repair there was a fault and the bike would not change gear so took it back to the Chester store, i was told it was my fault, the manager Simon said i will have to pay for the repair, as i have used them in the past when ive had a fault on my e-bike, but for some reason they have gone down hill, they dont reply to emails, answer calls, give rubbish customer service over the phone, not willing to admit there faults but would rather put the fault on the customer, they seem to charge you for a repair then damage your bike for more money and put the blame on you, there custom reations team also states it is my fault and i have to fnd more money to repair the monitor on my E-bike.I would not recommend anyone use Evans unless they want to be ripped off

I am providing an update to my earlier post from 3 weeks ago."It all started....." Customer services set another deadline for 27th August for a replacement axle which they has initially approved my warranty claim for. The claim then became "a gesture of goodwill " and the "user error" has now moved on to "wear and tear". The dispute resolution that they referred to no longer applies- they have withdrawn from this. Their terms and conditions apparently no longer apply. They will not honour the warranty and customer services are being disingenuous in every communication. I have now been without the use of my £3500 bike for around 4 months and they are still telling me to go and buy the part elsewhere despite having this part available on other bikes in their stock. They are a disgraceful company to deal with and paying no regard to the rights of consumers set out in legislation. This company should be avoided at all costs in my view. The only apparent honourable customer services person with any moral fibre gave their view in the reviews below and resigned. Nobody should have to work in an environment where the ethos of the company creates such antipathy towards its staff as a result of their unethical and immoral trading practices.

What went right!, so day of pick up the bike wasent made so had to wait 45 minutes for the bike to be built, riding the new Specialized 2 weeks later the arm of the pedal falls off sending me flying off the bike and badly injuring myself spoke to them they took the bike back and said they wanted to repair it 3 weeks later no update so contacted there head office to be told they want to give me a refund 2 months later still haven’t heard anything back and I am still paying for the bike through there finance I have send loads of emails to there health and safety department and not hearing anything back. Extremely disappointed I though Evans cycles would make me feel safe on the road when I explained I hurt myself the best they could do is say they will give me a refund and £50 voucher I store shocking

Dear Evans, I've had an extremely poor experience with Evans recently, peaking with the delivery of my last order. I ordered the Elite Fly bottles from Evans rather than your competition (who would have delivered not for £5.99 but for free, and FAR faster than you) because, according to the photo descriptions on your site, you were offering the white bottles with black and silver details and black and silver lids. Those bottles match my bike. What you shipped to me was white bottles with silver and big, bright red details and white lids. Those bottles do not match my bike. See attached screenshot of your product page and photo of what you shipped to me. Making this worse is the fact that you have recently started charging £5.99 to collect Web orders from your stores. When ordering from your site I would usually collect from your Maidstone store for free, but as you're now charging the same price to collect as you are to ship, there's no advantage to me to click and collect. Note than none - none - of your competition charges this much, or takes a week to ship their products. They also tend to ship products that are accurate to their descriptions. Making it worse again is that I used a Gift Card, given to me for my birthday, to purchase these items. Not only did your website fail to accept my gift card for 2 weeks because you were updating your system (you've already got the £50, so wheres the hurry in allowing me to redeem the products, eh?), but out of the £50 gifted to me I must subtract £5.99 for the shipping. You also charged £5.99 to ship the gift card to the person who gifted it to me. Thats £11.98 you have taken for "shipping" this order, and that is quite frankly disgusting. And 3 of the 5 items I ordered are not as described! I honestly feel as if Evans have made changes recently in order to distance themselves from their competition (Wiggle etc.), but you've gone in the wrong direction - making yourselves more expensive and making the customer experience worse. There is now absolutely no advantage to me, or anyone else with the internet or a copy of the Yellow Pages, to use Evans over anyone else, and I fail to see how the decision makers at Evans could justify making these changes unless their goal is drive the company into the ground and bury it under a mound of horrendous reviews. Further to that, your prices aren't remotely competitive before you pile on the bad customer experience and exorbitant shipping. And now you've taken away your Price Match service, ensuring that if someone is buying from you they will be paying more than they need to! I assume you're hoping to prey on newcomers to cycling who don't know any better than to go to the website of their local bike shop without shopping around, or ignorant family members of established cyclists who might want to purchase their loved one a gift card. You surely can't be hoping to attract to your website customers who've been cycling for more than 3 months as they have no reason to shop with you over anyone else. As to the bottles, I would return them but as they're £5.99 each it would cost me more money, time, and effort than it would be worth, even if you were to refund the cost of postage both ways. I will simply have to accept this as a mistake on your part and a lesson on mine. I have spent a significant amount of money with Evans over the past few years on a bike, clothing, accessories, backpacks, bottles, tools, workshop consumables, and spart parts - I won't be spending any more without some serious changes being made to your pricing, services, and a general respect for the fact that your customers have a choice as to where they shop (unless of course they're in possession of an Evans gift card - in that case they're well and truly stuck with you). Regards, An ex-Evans Cycles Customer
