Part exchanged my car at Evans Halshaw Shiremoor .Carl Dunn was the sales rep dealing with me. I have dealt with Mr Dunn on a number of occasions and found him to be honest helpful and efficient. I have only had 1 issue in all the times I have used them ,This issue was dealt with straight away .Never had any problems with staff all very helpful.I have recommended numerous family members to use Evans Halshaw which they have and all very happy with the service and cars they have bought .Would certainly recommend Evans Halshaw to anyone looking for a new or used car

I have never been treated so badly in all my life. I had an agreed deal with Evan's Halshaw Vauxhall in leeds. my old car was valued on site and test driven by them for part ex on a new car. I paid the deposit signed up for the car I even paid in full as requested over the internet at home the same day. They rang me next day saying I had to pay 700 pounds extra as they said the part ex they were giving on my car was not actualy worth it to them!. This is after the deal was done signed up and id paid in full. all that was left was to collect the car. This company is an absolute disgrace. they use very dodgy dealing practices at best and actualy break the law. Trading standars told me I had a legally enforceable contract and they are in breach of it. I am currently dealing with trading standards and taking legal advise as well I get free through my house insurance.

Called in to ask for some information regarding a new purchase Vauxhall Astra at the Hull branch spoke to a James Henderson very helpful chap he said he would look into sourcing a suitable car, that was a couple of weeks ago, received a phone call from another sales person at the branch did not get his name but what an arrogant rude person in fact I did intend to call back in this week with a view to purchasing a new car but not anymore after listening for a good ten min to this so called sales person, the abuse was down to me not giving him a straight answer am I buying or not if not I might as well put the phone down on you that was just a small portion of an arrogant so called sales person, well Evan Halshaw Hull one less customer to abuse, needless to say I won’t be purchased my new car from you.

AVOID!!!!!!!! Would put 0 stars if I had the option! Total CON ARTISTS!!!! Purchased a Mercedes A class from Evans halshaw Gateshead. 11 faults in 11 months not what you expect on a £11,630 car! Only had the car 8 months of actually owning it as it has been in the garage for 3 months! Was told that the car was at Mercedes garage - YET ANOTHER LIE as we contacted Mercedes and asked where our car was to which they replied the car has never been to a Mercedes garage anywhere in the UK! We then contacted Evans Halshaw again for them to turn around and say well actually it’s in a garage in South Shields which is an approved garage, as they could not get my car booked into Mercedes! YET ANOTHER LIE! We rang Mercedes back and they said they could book my car in straight away and we could bring it straight in!!! Once I got my car back, I had not even driven off the forecourt and my engine management light was back on (the issue I took my car in for 2 weeks prior) NOT ONLY THAT... They Wangled the figures when we bought the car - told that this is usual practice so we could justify getting a decent trade in price - told this wouldn’t effect us! YET ANOTHER LIE now when trying to get a refund for this car we were told because of the “wangled figures” that they are offering us thousands of pounds less!! Absolute joke!!! Yes there has been lots of work done on the car, but we paid for a warranty to cover it! Considering I am 6 1/2 months pregnant and they give me my car back after air bags malfunctioning and being told that it had only had a sensor being done on it is an absolute joke! Then to be told from The manager, Matt Potts that we’ve “just been unlucky” is absolutely disgusting when asking if he would put his pregnant partner or daughter in that car! Total lack of respect and disgusting attitude!

Evans Halshaw are a bunch of incompetent crooks who sold me a faulty car and have the worst communication ever. They're unreliable and I will never be buying with them again. Wouldn't even provide me with a temp car whilst mine was being "fixed" even though I was entitled. They are crooks!!

Shameful service Took my car in under warranty and they can not even look at it for 18 days due to backlogs,! They can’t even provide me with a courtesy car as there are none available ! They can sub contract my repair out though through an approved VAT registered garage but they didn’t tell me that I had to find that out myself! This mess has not only affected my disability, it has impacted on my work, my hospital and drs appointments. Told I would receive a call Monday just gone and still waiting 4 days later! When you do try to call the dealership you go through to their call centre instead! Disgusting!

My partner have purchased used Honda at Evans Halshaw Citroen Mansfield. Car came with faulty clutch, noisy engine and notchy gear box. Been advised to go for warranty repairs to nearest Evans Halshaw which is Ford Rotherham. After many repairs all faults still there and found pieces of sealant on oil dip stick and had oil leak after one of repairs. Have sent formal complaint to Citroen Mansfield two weeks ago but got no response....

Where do I begin, so we spotted a really nice looking car with Evans Halshaw Nissan, Middlesbrough. Tried calling them to arrange a viewing no answer so kept calling and I think on the fifth attempt it got answered and they confirmed yes car was here and could be viewed. Collected my parents who the car was for and drove an hour to the garage. Now the fun really began, the car was unsafe to drive due to issues with the brakes however we were assured it would all be fixed, we agreed a price and we also agreed to pay a small bit extra to have the paint work done to a better standard. A week was agreed for collection and off we went very happy with my 70 year old parents purchase. Two days before collection had a call from the sales guy car is here looks great when do you want to collect, arranged a time of 10am two days after the call. The day of collection came we set off nice and early and were well enroute when we received a call to say the car won’t be ready. We turned up anyway assured the car would be done for the afternoon. We paid again we trust people why wouldn’t we it is after all a major dealership. With four start trust pilot rating. So come Friday afternoon now seems the car is still unsafe as it has failed mot and needs a new caliper. Asked for my money back and told it will take days??/? What with Bacs still waiting for either my money or the car to no avail. What a shambles this place is, the staff are pointless and god they are useless. Avoid at all cost go try anywhere else but here.

Tried to move a car from 1 branch to another , filled out online form like i was asked to do, paid £200. Car was reserved for 48 hours but no one picked up the order so car was released and is back on website for sale. Called both branches involved each blamed the other. Hopeless. I will go elsewhere

WORSE CAR DEALERSHIP EVER!! I had my family members tell me about this company being scammers, they experienced this first hand with them. However I left all their reviews behind and walked into a deal with this company, believing in giving it a second chance. I walked into the dealership and they build a picture of pure bliss. This is what Evan Halshaw Ford Grantham did. They promised and guided me to a so called perfect car. An Audi Q7. They sold me a two year warrently which was promised to cover the cost of the car if anything was to happen to it. Which sounds promising right? When I got the car after a week I decided to take it down for a car wash. As I came out of the car after the wash was done I saw all 4 alloys wheels had lost a considerable amount of paint. This was very surprising as it’s been only a week . So I called the company as I had warranty. This is when the troubles began. The company were not compliant at all. They were not accepting responsibility. However after much discussions finally Andrew the sales manager had accepted that they used a cheap quality paint to the alloys hence why it was coming off. After a long wait I was offered a £250 sum of money and was told to repaint the alloys ... (which was never going to be enough for an Audi Q7). However i wasnt left with much choice ... it was either take the money or sort it out ourselves. So I took the money. After few weeks I decided to take my car down to the Audi dealership for a major service. Shockingly they have come back to me with a video of a MAJOR OIL LEAK from the ENGINE!! Which will cost over £5k to repair and it could be only fixed in an Audi dealership. So I contacted the company which is Evan Halshaw who I bought the car from to tell them this is the report I have from the Audi dealership. After my initial call with this issue suddenly my phone calls were being dodged or being passed on from one department to another without any help or service . This was to waste my time and no solution be found. I realised now why they had done this... it was because the period of returning my car was near enough ending and they didn’t want me to return it back so wasting them days by playing this game. After many weeks of cat and mouse I finally was able to speak to Andrew. He agreed for me to bring the car down to the dealership which was 80 miles away from my house . I agreed and dropped my car off to them and after 4 days I was told they can’t find no oil leaks and so I should pick the car back up. However I had a gut feeling that they did not really do a proper inspection so I again booked my car into an Audi dealership to get it rechecked and paid the inspection fees myself. Not to my surprise I was right. There was an oil leak still and I was told by Audi that this will eventually ruin my engine. I don’t understand why Evan Halshaw couldn’t find the fault. Then after seeing the Audi dealership report the second time they agreed for me to take my car down to their dealership (80 miles away) again and they would use their own local Audi dealership and will repair my car in a few days and return it back to me. However again after 5 days they contacted me to say that this repair is beyond their budget and they cannot repair it for me . I find this pure evil as they took my money and signed me up to a failed car . My recommendation is never ever use these scamming rubbish company . You will save yourselves the headache and money loss.

DO NOT BUY FROM EVANS HALSHAW. I bought a car on the 19th of July this year and emailed them the evening I picked it up about 12 faults/issues the car had that needed fixing, one of which was a knocking coming from the gearbox. Up to this day, that car has been to Evan's Halshaw a total of 8 (yes, EIGHT) times, 2 of which times they had it for over a month (they have had the car more than me during my ownership) and it STILL has 5 of the same issues I highlighted on the night of my purchase.. So I came to my final straw when I picked up my vehicle on the 6/12/19 for the 7th time, after being ASSURED that the issues were all resolved, and the knocking was still there along with 4 other issues the car has had since day 1. So I've asked to reject/return my car and either be refunded or exchange this car with something else of similar value. When I brought this to the attention of management I was told, if I chose to go down that route, there would be 'costs to me' and that I have no grounds to reject the vehicle. I have been BEYOND patient with all the staff after their countless lies and failures. I even gave the manager the option to refurb my gearbox and fix the other issues (one of which was a dent in the boot lid that happened whilst the car was IN THEIR CARE) and I would take it back and see out my finance agreement. He said he wasnt willing to do this so I now have to persue court action to reject the vehicle under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. All in all, a horrible experience from start to finish and I would reccomend you look elsewhere for your new or used cars. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Quick to take your money but don't give a damn when you have a problem.

I have delayed writing a review for several weeks to give you a chance to contact me, but shame on you Evans Halshaw Chester. I paid £200 to RESERVE a car, viewed it, confirmed £200 acted as deposit and agreed collection day, which you extended (because you couldn’t provide things that had been promised, basics; like its service history). Outrageously I’m EMAILED late afternoon the day before collection day to advise you’ve mistakenly sold the car to someone else! Worse was to follow; so many broken promises made by the infuriating (that’s as polite as I can be) ‘Sales Leader’ to put things right. I made a complaint, all documented and following your guidelines, to be promised umpteen times that ‘Martin Marsh the Dealer Principle ‘would call me. Nobody has had the courtesy to call me. I am so glad I didn’t buy a car from you, if you think this is an acceptable way for a company to conduct their business, I feel so sorry for anyone who has an issue with a car they actually had the misfortune to purchase from you. An apology, made with some sincerity and by someone in authority would have gone a long way, as it is, I’m left assuming you haven’t bothered to look into, or even read my complaint. I guess one thing that Josh the Sales Leader got right was when he told me if I made a complaint, his response was something along the lines of: They’ll come to me, I’ll say it was a mistake and that will be it. And incidentally, if you’re a potential customer, you may be interested to know that Evans Halshaw does not subscribe to The Motor Ombudsman’s code of practice and is therefore not accredited by them.
