Brought a suite. Love it. But on one chair skin is peeling. Took out their protectiion cover. Waste of money. It does not cover this problem. Contacted ombudsman They say nothing can be done. Disgusting Don’t take out protection cover not worth paper it’s written on.

SHOCKING customer srrvice. You must read before buying from Furnature Village I purchased a rise recliner leather chair on 23/05/23. Cost £1,124. Within six months the leather was peeling off the left arm. I complained at FV Nottm. They said the care and protection chaps would have a look. They came on 26/03/24, 7 weeks after logging the complaint. Chap came asked a multitde of questions including what medication my fathers taking and took dozens of photos. He said it was caused by bodily fluids. He seemed a little negative. I pointed out on the policy it clearly states that body fluids are covered. He said that its possibly caused because my father is on warfarin. He said they would be in contact to set a date for repair within two weeks. Nothing heard. Phoned them on 09/04/24 said they would look into it and call us back. Five weeks had passed and on 25/04/24 we phoned them, we were passed from the repair company to furnature village 8 or 9 times spent almost two hours on the phone. The repair company EMMIERA said they had no record of us. WOW terrible customer service. Booked them to come again. Arrived 03/06/24, this is now 4 months since my complaint to FV. Another chap arrived, he looked at the chair from about 3 yards away and said straight away "not covered for repair because damaged by body fluids" i explained to him that someone from his firm had already been and said that it would be done. He went out to his van to make a phone call. When he returned he immediately said its not covered because my father takes warfarin and that has caused the peeling. I had not said anything about my fathers medication to him but after the phone call he knew about it. Its clear that Emmiera are liers. I said that the policy clearly states body fluids, he said its not covered because of warfarin, i said that it does not say anywhere on the policy that medications are not covered, he replied "its a grey area". I said i read black and white. On the 05/06/24 i went to Furnature Village, Castle Marina, Nottingham. I saw the manager Dave P. I fully explained all the above and the poor treatment. He looked at his computer and said that the care repair had closed my claim on the 30/03/24 after the first visit. He said they had sent my wife the report via email. I informed Dave P that we had not received any report, he would not print a copy of this report for me. He said he would get Emmiera to send it to us. Within the report that Dave read to me, it said that their is no fault of the manufacturers. I said to dave that clearly, a new chair would not peel like it has. Also with all the poor customer service from Emmiera that this is not right. I said to Dave the manager, that i had reported the fault approximately 7 months after buying the chair and had nothing but shocking treatment resulting in extreme stress for my elderly parents. I requested that i be refunded the full price we paid for the chair. His reply was "its not FV responsibility when its bought, its down to the repairers. Dave was very uncaring and not bothered. Its clear to me, that you have our money and dont care. The furnature repairers look for any excuse not to do the repair which would cost about £500. The furnature company should not be asking any customers about their medications. They are not toxicologists. I showed my pharmacist a picture of the damage, she said that taking warfarin would not cause it. It is clearly a poor quality chair, sold as leather. Not leather then colour sprayed. I am very dissapointed with the whole process. If its warfarin causing this damage, my father must be sweating buckets. Also its just the left arm of the chair, surely the right arm and where his head rests would be damaged. I warn others buying from FV and taking out damage and accident cover. Its a con, worthless waste of money sold by FV to remove responibility from them. This happened within months of buying it. Any goods purchased are covered against damage for the first 12 months. The Nottingham store manager says this is not so. Ord num - 29R281412 Date of experience: 05 June 2024

Unfortunately my faux leather sofa has only lasted 3 years and I paid £700 for it. After a year of having it, the material started to discolour and the material is peeling off. Very disappointed

The riser recline chair purchased and delivered on 28th May has the same defects as many others ( see Colin Wise and other photos ) The depressions in the seating area happened within 3-4 days. After several emails and a so called independent expert came and with much effort flattened out the upholstery (so called dressed the seat) The so called ponding came back worse than before. After another few emails I was fobbed of by 3 different customer service persons. The answer was the same as many other customers that it was natural settlement !! I did make the point that if this happens then why was I not told of this at the point of sale?

Have just read the multiple dreadful reviews can’t believe this company is still trading I bought some bedroom furniture in February so far only had bed and side table delivered the delivery has changed up to now three times still no accurate date yet Tried to track order now saying my order can’t be tracked !!???? Phoned the number they show on their website when u can’t track order spoke to customer service who said they have no idea as this was after sales even though they advised to call the number ?? I will never buy from this company again it’s dreadful on the same day as buying this bedroom furniture I also bought some from next was delivered and in place and bedroom been in use well over 6 weeks as yet still awaiting the rest of my furniture and a bedroom that can’t be used If they have such issues with delivery possibly use someone else or be honest at time of sale that orders are taken well over 6 months but my advise spend your money elsewhere

If I could give a score of -5* review I would as this would be more reflective of the experience. I placed an order at Northampton Riverside store, paid the deposit and was advised of the lead time for the item. I received voicemail message from the sales manager on 18 May to say that the order was in and I needed to call up to pay the balance so that delivery arrangements could be made. I tried several times on 18 May to ring the store and every day sometimes several times per day to get hold of the store before contacting your contact centre on 23 May to raise concerns regarding this. To my disappointment all anyone was interested in doing is directing me to the store despite me saying the reason for my call was because I had been trying without success over the past week to get hold of the store, to pay them money! I was assured by the agent that they would contact the store asking them to contact me but nothing came. So I had no choice but to continue my attempt to contact the store and eventually managed to speak to an agent who checked with the sales manager and he could be heard to say the order was ready. I paid the balance on 23 May and again I’ve heard nothing about the delivery despite many failed attempts to contact the store. I called the contact centre again after over a week of not being able to get hold of the store to be told the order is in a container in transit from Italy so not even in the UK and therefore not available for delivery. This is after I had been told 2 weeks earlier the order was available for delivery upon receipt of balance funds. When I sought to query this in the hope of some clarity the agent was interested in doing was kicking the can down the road and passing me back to the store, despite me having made it clear that my reason for escalating the issue was due to struggling to get hold of anyone and frankly being lied to on two separate occasions. I had expressly said that unless the order was available to be delivered I would not be willing to pay the balance and I assured that the order would be delivered upon the balance being paid. I’ve paid £700 and I have no idea where my order is or when my order will arrive. This was my first experience with furniture village and it will without doubt be the absolute last for me anyone else who cares to listen to me. I have never experienced such poor service or dealt with a company that is so uninterested in customer service. This has been a horrid experience and one that on a human level I would not wish anyone else to experience. The thing that sums this company up is that over and above all this I made a formal complaint to customer relation and I’ve not even received an acknowledgement never mind any sort of explanation and/or resolution.

Suite 1 delivered and replaced as foam bases had sunken and offered little support at 3 months. Second suite same issues and time span but this one is as they love to say " natural settlement" and not a manufacturing fault and hence not covered by their worthless warranty. Basically washed their hands of us

The customer ‘service’ is horrendous and the internal communication is appalling. I have had to chase a number of issues for a YEAR. The latest being that a staff member from their repair department tried to steam out a mark on my sofa that he created and left a ‘stain’ as a result. I was told replacement fabric would be ordered to rectify. Having not heard anything for a few weeks I followed up with an email. FV complaints were not aware. Did the report not reach them? Did they ignore it? Even worse is the staff member who created the issue (although unintentionally) has refused to accept that he caused it. I have external and internal cameras in my home which have captured his attendance. Emails seem to be ignored as is the severity of the issue. Why should a customer have to be chasing a company over issues they created? Very stressful and upsetting from a company whose own CEO said in ‘The Business Magazine’ that he believed in serving “customers right, give a customer a good deal and do what you say you’re going to do”

My wife and I ordered a new leather sofa from the Brighton store of Furniture Village. It arrived on 9/2/23 and we unwrapped it and put it in the lounge. At the time we had our grand-daughter staying with us so we didn't really use the lounge. On the 10/2/23 we were awakened from our sleep coughing, the fumes from the sofa were affecting our breathing. On the 11/2/23 we went back to the store and told the branch manager that we wished to bring the sofa back because it was giving off toxic fumes and making us ill. The sofa is on finance and the manager said that it was our property now and there was nothing he could do. As the discussions unfolded and I still needed a way of getting the sofa out of my house, he said that if I brought the sofa back he would treat it as being fly tipped and have it disposed of. The store manager advised us to put the sofa in the yellow box storage unit and that the cost would only be about £20. As our priority was to get the sofa out of the house we borrowed a van and took the sofa to yellow box storage. With the insurance and storage cost I think it was just over £100. Whilst we waited for the so called independent technician to check the sofa the costs were mounting. When the technician did come he said that he wasn’t insured to remove the sofa from the storage unit, so he lifted some of the packaging, took some photos, sniffed it and said it was fine. With the storage costs rising to over £500 we decided to put the sofa in an unused garage at my son’s house. When moving the sofa where my skin came into contact with the sofa it came up in blisters and this was now about 3 months after it was delivered. We decided to take legal action to get our money back. Whilst purchasing the sofa we were led to believe it was made in Italy and it now turns out it was made in China. At the present time we have five leather sofas, two leather chairs and a leather footstool till this day we have not experienced any problems from all of this Italian furniture. The citizens advice/ trading standards asked me to ask which company was protecting our customer rights. The finance company said that both companies were. They also said that they could not answer some of our questions because they were not there at point of sale. To this end we decided to take legal action against Furniture Village. The court date for the hearing was April 2024. The Brighton manager appeared, with my wife and I. Furniture Village didn’t even bother submitting a defence to the court which was obviously picked up by the district judge. They obviously knew that it would be dismissed, because the finance company should have been the defendants. Yesterday we wrote to the finance company to ask how they wish to proceed. I will post again when we hear from them. The reason for doing this review is that you should be able to expect a company with over 50 stores in the UK to sort out such basic problems. The finance company is called Novuna which is a trading name for Mitsubishi H C Capital UK plc. The complaints about Furniture Village are so extreme they have their own web site and even a facebook page. We wish we had read them before trusting Furniture Village. We would urge all prospective customers to check the reviews before using Furniture Village apart from the stress it is also costing us a considerable amount of money to pursue this, out of principal I want Furniture Village to properly test the fumes given off by the next leather sofa that comes from China, it is not possible for any normal customer to have this work done. I spent hours on the internet contacting the labs UKAS recommended but no-one was able or willing to do the work. Total costs so far:- Sofa £1974. Storage costs £518. Legal costs so far £461. Total £2953.00

Absolutely Shocking. Completely avoid. Please read all these 1 star reviews and do not give these sharks your hard earned money. Had two sofas delivered last week with marks on and wrong cushions. No one wants to know - emails ignored and phone calls get you nowhere. Stuck now trying to find a resolution or a refund. Fuming.

Please don't buy any beds from furniture Village the base callapsed and the mattress has callapsed right round all sides, I am sobbing writing this my husband and I are both disabled, we both sleep in separate rooms, the bed was bought for my husband, the technician has sent a report saying my husband and I are both fat of large build, I don't even sleep in the bed, my husband and I have medical conditions my husband has a huge hernia in his stomach that makes him look large then you get a so called technician saying he is large, one technician came out and glued the base together, my husband asked what about the mattress he said I am just here to glue the base together, my son turns the mattress weekly, one technician said the mattress has not been turned in his report, and another technician said it had, we have both reports both technicians sent buy furniture Village the bed is a sleepeezee costing 1449.00, so please avoid buying from this company, looking at other people complaining it looks like it's not just beds. Customer care niki has no time to even listen. He sounds like a very young employ that does not understand people are not always fat it is because of medical issues. Hope this helps someone not to buy a bed from here, we have written proof saying the bed has a 10 year guarantee, and if you can call it a bed it is only 2 years old and not fit for purpose. They are sending another technician out this is just a game to them.

We ordered 2 sofa sets in April 2021 x they arrived July 2021 x fabric set had wrong legs x took numerous phone calls and as last resort a huge rant in the high Wycombe store x fixed eventually x next leg broke on sofa x later that year x eventually repaired x broke again in October 2022 x fixed this tine (that will never move now ) said repairer! December 2023 at Christmas ! Leg broke again ! Repair co couldn’t come out til feb 2024 x when chap said NO can’t repair that x there was a huge hole where the leg should have been fixed to ! You need a complete arm with mechanism x ok how long ? Within a month x NO it’s now 11 April 2024 x we have not had use of sofa this time for 4 months xpreviously repair waits were a month each time at least x so no sofa for 6 months out of the 30 months we’ve had it x last phone call yesterday , helpful chap at cc for once x we have been offered 1,090 partial refund ! An absolute insult and am still waiting for news of replacement arm delivery ! Which I would imagine is not gonna be same colour as a used ( in the loosest possible terms) sofa x the staff are of course very helpful at store before you buy but if something goes wrong don’t expect resolution any time soon x I’ve now got to the end of my tether with this cowboy operation and my husband is taking over x Peter Harrison ! You will be hearing from some very disgruntled customers x I’m sure we’re not alone x they don’t stock our suite anymore ! Wonder why ? Never ever will we go to this place again x quite honestly the worst experience we’ve had with any purchase !

Don’t buy a bed from furniture village Don’t buy a bed from furniture village. They sold my parents a divan bed and mattress combined. Within a few months the mattress was faulty. They replaced the mattress but once again the mattress has broken and is faulty. They have said this is a product fault but will only offer my parents £250 towards a new mattress. They won’t replace the matresss which has a design fault. This is wrong. They have sold a faulty product and will not replace it. Wrong

Sold an ex display adjustable bed for nearly £2000 delivered that exploded a few weeks later. I explained to customer services that I'm terminally ill, can't lay flat and having to sleep in a chair as sent my hospital bed back as I hated the thought of dying in one and asked if this could be fixed asap. Customer services told me I'd be contacted within 72hrs with a technician date, didn't happen. A week later, they had forgotten to raise the repair. Promised a visit the following Monday, no one showed up. Promised again a visit the following week and the bed would be repaired the same day. They turned up just to inspect it where I was told the bed had 4 broken legs, no links, an exploded motor, casing off another and was shocked Furniture Village had sold/delivered a bed in this condition. Another 10 days wait and another no show. Furniture village then finally agreed to refund the purchase price and delivery cost once the beds collected and again promised a call back with a collection date. 9 days on, more broken promises of call backs and I'm still waiting for a collection date! I've spent over £10,000 and can't afford another bed until I receive my refund, my partner's lost 3 days work waiting for technicians and the stress of weeks and weeks of calls and sleeping in a chair, being told by one employee that he hopes I feel better soon is not acceptable! Furniture Village you should be ashamed!

☢️☢️One star is more than they deserve, my parents purchased a light for my new house, unfortunately the light was too big for my room. They tried to return the item to store only to be told they do not refunds as we saw the light in store. If we had bought it online we could have had a refund. I can’t see the difference at weather it was purchased on line or in store. Shocking customer service will not buy from here again and nor will I recommend them to anyone. ⚠️⚠️⚠️
