Worst customer service I have ever received. Buying the sofa was easy, but as soon as I had a problem (Soft arm Snapped), it was a very different story. I had to do all the chasing around, time off work, no apologies from staff, bad attitude by customer service staff. Sofa still not fixed 2 months down the line.

Furniture Village is what went wrong. Rubbish supposed leather sofa. No response from store or CEO. No response from Guardsman Insurance Company. Both companies total money grabbers selling and supposedly insuring products. Both companies should carry a DO NOT DEAL WITH US WARNING, they are just thieves, pure and simple. Wish we had seen this site before buying. One star is far in excess of what this company deserves, minus 10 would be more accurate.

Great showroom staff, I ordered 7 items. Delivery was in an unmarked old tatty white van. 4 items were faulty when delivered covered in bits of polystyrene and not cleaned off. After that TOTALLY APPALLING service. Would never shop here again. If I could give a minus score I would.

I bought a bed frame from Furniture Village a couple of months ago. They have installed with wrong size base (on which mattress is placed). When I informed the aftercare, they said they will send someone to look at it in the next 24 hours. Nobody turned for a week, when I called, they had not assigned the job to anyone. I was really annoyed but requested to act quickly. A third party person came and had a look at it after two weeks with an appointment, took pictures and left with a message that someone will contact me in a couple of days. After a week, after receiving no response, I called them. Again, the job was not assigned to anyone. Meanwhile, my wife had to go to the showroom but the sales persons are just useless and rude. Now, the customer care is blaming staff shortage as the cause for this. " I will never ever buy anything from this company again, and will not let my friends and family buy anything from here". Hope the inefficient senior management understands the power of mouth publicity and reviews.

Still waiting for products that were missing on delivery 3 weeks ago, no joy, even after 7 phone/online chats, yes 7! Disgusting service, will not shop with them again and would advise other prospective customers to steer clear also.

""I have contacted Customer Services three times to arrange for someone to come and look at my sofa which is a recliner which I bought back in June this year, which has stopped working in July, each time I call I am put on hold. I wait 20 minutes for them to return back to the call and then I am cut off. No one has tried to call me back and I have emailed Customer Services and again no acknowledgement or response from them. Very Unsatisfactory service.

Absolute rubbish company and service quite happy to take your order but have been waiting several weeks for delivery was told by one department it would be delivered on a date only to be rang the day before delivery to say it was not going to be delivered when you ring the shop all you get is fobbed off with excuses and a couldn't care less attitude .WE WILL NEVER SHOP HERE AGAIN and recommend people go elsewhere as this is absolutely abysmal service . Still awaiting delivery of a loaned sofa until what we have ordered arrives

When we were in the store, we were served by a delightful lady who gave us time to mull over the product we wanted to buy, gave us alternatives and was so polite. We were told the product would be with us in a week or two and the invoice confirmed delivery of one week. This was at the beginning of July and we are now 23.8.17 and still waiting. I always thought that if a company went into a contract with a customer, it was binding. This wait is most unacceptable. The member of staff that served us has regularly chased but to no avail.

We have recently purchased a 3 seater Tara leather recliner sofa and a 2 seater Tara leather sofa. Within hours of sitting on the 3 seater sofa the leather stretched and sagged away from the padding on the seating and the back padding has collapsed. We have had an inspector round who says this is normal. Even though the 2 seater doesn't show the same signs of sagging. As we are extremely unhappy with this outcome Furniture Village offered another inspector visit but this time we would have to pay 50% towards it. We'd say that is throwing good money after bad. So beware!! We are now contacting Trading Standards as the 3 seater sofa was bought unseen. Our house is pet and child free and we are average sized people. The new sofa looks worse in the first couple of months than the 17 year old leather sofa it replaced.

Appalling after sales, not interested. Inspection date not adhered to wasted a day off work, apologised but still had to wait a week.inspector advised to puff up leather seats that are flattened, there are other significant problems. My old leather sofa NOT purchased from this company lasted me 10 years, this one is appauling condition after only 20 weeks LOAD OF RUBBISH. Watch this space for feedback on inspection report. ......

Originally ordered a dining table, six chairs, a sideboard, and three side tables. Service in the store at Hull could not have been better. The staff were very helpful, friendly and efficient. We were told at the time our order would have to be made and would take approximately eight weeks to deliver. We were happy to accept that. The furniture was delivered on time with communication from the company and delivery men. Unfortunately after they left we discovered the table was damaged all down one edge. This was not evident until I ran my hands over the edge and got splinters of wood in my fingertips. We contacted Customer Services who asked us to send photographs of the damage, which were acknowledged on receipt and we were told they would decide what to do and contact us. Then NOTHING! We rang and rang but could never get through again for over a week. We contacted the Hull store and they gave us a direct line number on which we were successful. My husband was told a new table would be ordered and they would be in touch. That was in April. We waited for ten weeks but nothing happened until I emailed them again and was told that the new table had never been ordered. They would order a new table for us and offered £50 in compensation for the delay. I suggested that they gave us £200 and I would get the table edge re-finished. That would save yet another delay and the cost of a new table and delivery. Once again no contact until I emailed again and was told they did not agree, that the table came with no guarantee and that they would give us £100 to keep the table, or they would order a new one. It seems they are blaming us for the damage! Surely any customer would expect to receive furniture in perfect condition. The contract did not include 'faulty furniture is the customer's responsibility'. I cannot believe the attitude of their Customer Services and it seems that once Furniture Village have your money they run out of interest! I have indicated to them that we would prefer a new table to be ordered, but of course don't hold out any hope of this happening, and of course I have not had a reply to my email. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY their after care is rubbish. Unfortunately the furniture was paid for through a finance deal so they actually have our money. I was warned about this attitude by a relative but thought the problem was exaggerated, but no.

Having ordered 2 sofas in different designs but the same fabric, in October 2016, they arrived on 11th December but were both the same design. The original order time was 9 weeks, which we accepted as we thought we would have our sofas in time for Christmas. However it then took 16 weeks for us to get our correct sofa. During this time I had to make numerous phone calls to ask for progress with the order. The customer service was terrible - it was as if it was my fault and that I should be grateful that they had reordered the sofa for me! When the sofa finally did arrive on 31st March, no-one could confirm that the sofa had been sprayed with the Gold Elite protection we had paid for, so I had to book an appointment for someone to come out and do this (and take a day off for the visit). Furniture Village offered us £150 (initially it was £100) as a gesture of goodwill. This is on an order that was over £2500. Not impressed and won't be buying from them again.
