I have had an order back ordered since the beginning of February. I understand that COVID has wreaked havoc on businesses. However, I go on IKEA's website and see that my items are available online and could be delivered to my home within 2 weeks. However, my backordered items are apparently not available. I have contacted IKEA about this and was told that the items apparently aren't in the distribution center. This makes absolutely no sense when I could go online and order the items and they can be delivered. Customer service is some of the worst I have ever experienced. I was on the phone over an hour--passed from one agent to the next with no help or real answers, and the issue was not resolved. Instead I was just told to wait and keep checking my e-mail. I need these items to finish a project. Once I receive them, I do not plan to ever shop at IKEA again--this has been a horrible process from start to finish.

I have been trying for days to order online for curbside pick up. It keeps saying to try again that they have reached maximum orders for the day. I have tried for many days at all times. I'm sure they just want us to pay the $45.00 delivery fee. After reading the reviews, even delivery doesn't work out. I hate going to this store, I feel is a fire hazard so avoid it at all cost. I will have to wait. They need a new corp. head.

Just tried posting a review,about poor service,bookcase fit only for firewood,appalling customer service,etc.Got to submit review 'page not available' come up! about right for IKEA!!

Ordered item delivered on time,end of good bit,item totally unusable,Contacted Ikea(eventually)robot gizmo useless,got into chat room,offered refund,but got 29.00 delivery charge only.Managed to find CEO of Europe so e-mailed him(twice).He must have passed to a lady who does appear to care about Ikea,was told refund for purchase would be done when item is picked up,sent photographs of scrapwood sorry bookcase and got e-mail saying refund would be given immediately after seeing pictures,which was given within 5 days.Now have to wait until item is collected(whenever that is)Have been informed during e-mails my collection will be soon when collections start.Stores are now open so why not do collections under same conditions as delivery,arrange date and time,goods can be put outside and collected.So at this time packages are 'stored' behind sofa cluttering up my lounge.

I ordered 3 items on 05-25-20, totaling $1500.00, and was told that my delivery would be on 05-28-20. 05-28-20 came and went no delivery. I called and called and called no answer from Ikea. I called the delivery company said it was on a delayed truck, asked if I could get a date she said NO. I dont know that date she said. Called Ikea. Ikea tells me the items are on backordered, i asked if they are on backorder why did you take the money out of my account. This could be backordered for months. Then they had the balls to tell me it would take 2 weeks to get a refund, so I have to wait 2 weeks before i get my money to buy at another retailer, "I don't think so. Called my bank. Guys if you get a refund call your bank and make sure they send you an email saying it was cancelled. The clincher just before she cancelled I received an email saying Yay! Your items are on the way according to the representative not true Backordered. Wow!!!!

ordered and paid on april 23. 5/28 half of order delivered. It is June 2 and Ikea/xpo cannot find 1500 sofa. Go back and forth with no results! the latest wait 2 more days until then we are sitting on floor. UNACCEPTABLE UNPROFESSIONAL THEY DON'TCARE Less than 1 rating!!!

The Ikea you used to know and love is dead. The 2020 incarnation of ikea shows absolute contempt for their customers, incompetance, laziness and pure greed. They'll blame it on Coronavirus - and it's all lies. Here's some highlights: - On the website items are shown as out of stock yet are in stock in your local store. - You'll have to wait months for your delivery once you finally get a slot. - When your delivery comes there will likely be items missing, the delivery driver won't care, you wont get a delivery note, just a shrug. - You can't call Ikea to let them know of their mistakes as their phone lines are closed. The opening hours on their website do not bear any resemblance to reality. How difficult is it to update a website? Did they furlough all their web designers? - The web chat is closed when it should be open. You'll try morning, afternoon, evening, middle of the night, multiple times. Very rarely is there anyone there. - Their social media channels are not monitored, or only a handful of public comments are replied to and customers are fobbed off. Direct Messages are ignored. - If you are lucky enough to get through to Ikea you'll be retreated as if you are a nuisance and you will have to wait a further two months for the missing items on your delivery. - You're not sure if the person on the other end of the web chat is a human or a bot as they seem to follow a very limited script. They will not try and help you using their initiative, they will not call the warehouse/delivery company to find your missing items, they will not check stock in local stores, or they'll do it begrudglingly if you ask them. They don't take ownership of your complaint. - Ikea will refuse to refund you for your order as they cannot collect your items. - You are left frustrated, with several boxes of rubbish. Who wants a dining table with no legs? Dining chairs but no table? - You'll find that your postcode is out of stock for the products, but if you put in a postcode in Peterborough (where there distribution centre is) they could delivery it in 4 days time. - They'll blame the lack of customer service on coronavirus - yet they've got enough staff to open their stores. Surely redeploying staff to customer service to look after their existing customers should be a priority (and it'd keep their staff safer). Instead opening stores to sell yet more products to customers they cannot support is their priority. It's clearly profit before people. - Ikea used to be the poster child for modern retail, trailblazing, efficiency, customer service and great products. Don't be deceived like I was - the Ikea you know and love is dead, shop elsewhere or you'll truly regret it.

We ordered on April 24th 2020 and it was supposed to be delivered on May 25th but it never delivered. No one is answering at IKEA and there's not updates. We purchased $500 worth of products and they took the money a month ago ready. We spent so much time calling and waiting but no one ever answered and chat doesn't work either. They should stop taking orders and deal with the backlog first. Huge disappointment and I don't think we'll be shopping with IKEA again.

OMG worrrrrst online store to order during the Covid. They charged you and provide with a link for tracking number. The link is not working. Their customer Service number is not accepting any calls. They aren’t responding to your emails. You either cancel or never received your orders. I ordered since May 10th. Up to today no information regarding my order. The way you’re treating your customers IKEA is extremely poor annd appalling. And quite frankly they’re the company I know right now with such issues. They do not even deserve my 1 star.

I have tried to place an online order, but it always says thery have reached the maximum number of orders, and whe n you call they disconnect the call after saying they have too many calls. So many businesses are begging for business, but IKEA seems to be begging for you to take your business elsewhere. When the shutdown took place, a lot of businesses were scrambling to put things in order so they could resume business (understandably so), and a majority made it work the best it can, but IKEA isn't one of them. For the size of company, they should have this figured out. The people in charge, including the CEO should be fired. If I performed my job this way, there is no way I would still be employed. Come in IKEA, you can do better than this.

During lockdown I have tried to support businesses. This is the first one to fail me. May 28, ordered online. IKEA emailed me a delivery date of May 31 between 9am-5pm. Morning of May 31 used email's "Track your order" link: delivery is being prepared. Used same link 10 pm: "being prepared." Never delivered. June 1 used link again (twice): "An error occurred. It looks like we ran into a network problem, please try again. If you have any questions, please contact customer service." Phoned 1-888-888-4532; recording recounts IKEA's contactless delivery protocols; followed menu to "Check on delivery" where recording says they can't take any calls, use Track My Order on first page of website. This is the result: Service not available at the moment. Please try later. = I won't. Only email option is cancellation. = I will. Had IKEA stopped online sales during the shutdown, I would have been disappointed but supportive. Now I have to waste time trying to solve their mess and dealing with my credit card company. Cancellation page says shipping fees are non-refundable. If so charged, I will sue IKEA for reimbursement.

I wish there is a "0" star option, I ordered items from IKEA and spent over $500. I placed an order 4/27/2020 and I was told estimated delivery date was 5/19/ 2020. Over a month, nothing has showed up and con not get any info about my order. I called customer service no one taking calls but go online if you have to reschedule or track your order. I go online and the only option available is to cancel your order. I don’t want to cancel my order because my credit card that I paid is expired and of the April 2020. I don't know when or if my order is coming and they have taken the money and not communicated anything to me. I am very disappointed.

I would give 0 stars if I could. I ordered a carpet and some slip covers 8 weeks ago. Everything was in stock. Was patiently waiting as the order was to be delivered end of May . Ikea removed the money right away from my credit card account when the order was laced. Today I receive an email with an attached PDF file, which states that the order cannot be delivered !!!! REALLY!???? THIS IS EXTREMELY POOR SERVICE AND DISHONEST> THEY HAVE MY MONEY FOR TWO MONTH AND DO NOT DELIVER ORDERED ITEMS< WHICH WERE IN STOCK> IKEA HAS VERY QUESTIONABLE REVIEWS _ BUT THIS TODAY SHOWS: DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM IKEA!!!!!!!!!

OMG. Could IKEA just get their stuff together!!!!! I have been trying to order something for 6 days now for click and pick up but they are only taking so many orders at a time, so you can't place your order. Why can't they take your order and then email you when your order will be ready. So, ok I will place the order and get it shipped. That won't work either because something is out of stock but they don't tell you what item. Ok, so I the call 800 number but they are no longer taking calls because they are sooooo busy! Really! IKEA GET YOUR CUSTOMERS SERVICE IN ORDER!! I would give you a zero but that is not an option unfortunately ;(

Worst experience ever. DO NOT BUY HERE EVER OR AT LEAST NOT DURING COVID-19. You won't be able to exchange/return items (even if they delivered the wrong thing) and you will be stock with them until who knows when!!! I placed an order online, I was forced to pay expedited delivery fee because it was the only option available (pick wasn't available and regular delivery wasn't available). Then when they delivered the item, the guy couldn't even ring my doorbell to let me know he arrived even though it was raining and he knew I was at home because he called when he was in route. If is not because I looked at the window and see the truck leaving I wouldn't know. I ran out and told the driver why he couldn't ring the doorbell and he played the "I don't understand card," so Ok I spoke with him in Spanish then to make myself very clear but he didn't care regardless. Then Ikea has a partnership with taskrabbit to put items together but they are not responsible of any fees or issues. Now I also wasted my money because when the guy came, it ended up not only that I was missing the legs of the item that I paid extra for, they got me mix parts so I couldn't put it together. I called the delivery team and they said they are not responsible for this. On top of that, trying to call Ikea is horrible. I called for 3 hours straight but they weren't taking calls. Finally I was placed on hold, explained my issue but they can't do anything other than filling a claim for you. Another waste of time. Then, today I got an email from them saying they can't schedule pick up or returns until Ikea open back up. This is insane. I don't have space at my place to just have useless things sitting around. I should be able to return the item so that I can either get my money back and buy an the item some place else, or be able to exchange it. This is very unprofessional. I am very dissapointed and will never ever again purchase something from Ikea.

In the same situation that everyone else has said! My first time ordering ikea online, on April 18. Got an email saying my order would be delivered by May 13. Nothing has showed up and can not get any info about my order/tracking. Tried calling customer service and the recorded message says “we’ve hit max calls today, try again tomorrow.” Which I’ve tried day after day to get ahold of anyone. It would just be nice to at least get an email about the pandemic slowing down time, or anything!!

Wish I could give less than one star. Our experience is like everyone else’s. No way of getting a hold of anyone via email or calling the customer service line. Understandably, these are unprecedented times, but communication with your customers is just basic training and sucesss for any company. Need better updates when “tracking order”. ANY updates would be greatly appreciated. Seriously disappointed that GREAT customer service has never been a strong principle and it shows now more than ever.

This company can not possible read these rating 1.2 of 5 and feel like you are "sorry it was a bad experience". While I have enjoyed some of the products, I have never dealt with such a convoluted customer experience. The website and customer service is SO circular, UN user friendly, frustrating and uninformative. There are dead ends and loops that take you nowhere. Whoever is at the helm of customer experience needs to go.
