“Jcpenney online ordering and canceling is the biggest con and joke there ever has been. If you don't cancel an order within 30 minutes of placing your order then you are out of luck. When you get the order you tried to cancel the very same day you ordered it then you can send it back if you call them back when you get it and they charge you $8.00 to send it back. I argued with a man and a woman for 30 minutes or more about how it doesn't say anything at the bottom of the order about a 30 minute time limit. Needless to say I lost the argument with them and was told to call them back after get my order. They are ripping people off, because they let someone ruin their company and now we are having to pay for it. My Advice To EVERYONE, DO NOT SHOP AT JCPenny, PAY OFF YOUR CREDIT CARD WITH THEM AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AND NEVER BECKEN THEIR DOORS OR WEBSITE AGAIN! RIPPED OFF ONCE MORE!!!”
“Visited the Roanoke, VA store. My favorite. Ddisplay had lovely women pajamas. They didn't have my size. As I was walking away Denise (Manager) was walking but greeted me. Ask how I was doing, did I need assistance. I explained how I loved the pajamas. They didn't have my size. She mentioned they could order. She looked up item on our walk to cashier. Avery the cashier was awesome. I used coupon. Didn't have my Penny's card on hand. Avery too care of me. Also like to shout out Robert for his knowledge of the system which was being complicated that day. Walk out a happy customer receiving great customer service.”

“I went to buy a mattress and boxspring at the Altamonte Springs location. The salesperson was apprehensive with her answers, and couldn’t give definitive answers to my questions. Plus, I was told that it would take at least two weeks for delivery. $100.00 extra for delivery and pick up. Terrible experience here!!”
“Placed an order for bath towels and wash clothes. Received 4 incorrect wash cloths, called 2 times, spoke with 3 different people and for some reason no one could get the return correct. First agent sent me a label to return 9 of the 12 items I ordered with a refund of $31, second agent sent me a label to return 6 of the 13 items with a refund of $16, third agent sent me a label to return 4 of the 12 but it was the wrong 4 items with a refund of $16. After explaining multiple times that I received 4 incorrect wash clothes and wanted to return them the agent still couldn't get the label correct so I just said I'll keep them and donate them to someone and NEVER order from JCPenney again cause it's not that difficult to make the distinction between a wash cloth and bath towel. I also completed the survey and left my dismay on that as well. How can a company promote good customer service when you have agents that don't understand and state it multiple times during the calls.”
“I bought a pair of white airwalk sneakers and 3 months later and not even wearing them everyday I noticed cracks in the fake leather and were defective, I took them back to the store and they would not allow me to return them or give me store credit, they said they have a 60 day return policy, and I have my own policy to cut up my JCPenney card and not shop there anymore, they don't care if they sell you defective products and waste your money, spend your money elsewhere”

“I purchased two suitcases online and picked both up in the store. After submitting my order, I realized I forgot to apply my $10.00 reward. When I picked them up, I asked the clerk I could return one and repurchase it using my reward. I was told I could.
It was a HUGE surprise, AFTER the refund had been completed, to discover the return value was LESS than the actual purchase price. Upon closer examination of my original purchase receipt when I got home (which was online, not a printed), it does state that the return price is less than the purchase price. In total, I ended up paying MORE for the same item AFTER I used the reward money! How can this be even LEGAL???
The return amount should be the SAME as the purchase price, unles there is a clearly stated "reshelving" fee, which there was not the case! There was NO mention of a reshelving charge ANYWHERE!

“I have shopped at JC Penny for decades, with very few issues Until my shopping trip on 8/17/24. On this trip I fell in love with their Liz claiborne wide leg cropped jeans, and they were 40% off, to my delight! However, they didn't have my size, therefore, I had to order them online. I placed the order, and my total was a whopping $71.28! When I asked the salesperson what happened to the 40% discount, I was advised that the discount was for in store purchases only, per their policy! I was flabbergasted, and I never knew there was such a policy! I expressed my disappointment, as it was not my fault they didn't have my size in the store. I was also told that they couldn't cancel the order, in the store, and that I had to wait 24 hours before I could cancel the order. I called customer service today, and was advised that they could not cancel my order, and to contact the store, who always had the ability to cancel the order in the store. I am very disappointed in how JC Penny makes a difference in their customers, with respect to discounts, and the run around that I am getting with respect to rectifying this situation. I can say that I will have to think long and hard before I shop there again!”
“Several times I have placed online orders and received whatever they felt like shipping, not what was ordered. I've also received a package for a recent order and all that was shipped was a bunch of plastic. Customer Service tried to say it was tampered with, but it was sealed. They just stuffed a bunch of plastic in the package and shipped it.
I was able to get a refund, but because the representative refused to resend the item without me placing a new order the item is now sold out.”

“Today is Monday, August 13, 2024. I have been outside waiting for my order since 5:45 pm. They cancel the first time after 30 minutes. They asked you to come back later. I went HEB and shopped for thirty minutes. Now, I have checked in again. The story now is there is a problem with the order and there will be another delay. It's now 7:09 pm and I'm still waiting. No one has come out yet. At 7:10 pm it says to come into the store. Is this the way you treat your customers with handicaps, young children, cripple and disabled. Wow, you guys need to close down permanently.”
