If I could give this company a zero I would . The prices changes constantly and they hold your things hostage until you pay them . Also they don’t value your belongings, your things will be gone thru and your fragile boxes will be thrown around and broken. Think twice before you use this company.

My totes were gone through and in the process silver 4 bars were taken along with gold chains in my wife’s jewelry box. I wouldn’t ever give there name out as a moving company to use. From point of pickup they unloaded 3 times

Well, I have learned a $3200 lesson. I had contracted Midland movers with no exact date and it would be based on sale of my home. They put a sliding date of April to June. But, again, no definite date was set. So when I attempted to cancel since I no longer needed, they refused to refund or even consider a partial refund...even though absolutely NO services and NO packing materials were used or given. I have since learned that NO REPUTABLE moving company demands a down payment. NONE. And reputable movers stated that they would refund when no services were used by the consumer. BEWARE. DO NOT USE MIDLAND. FIND Someone else who does not demand a down payment. Any reputable will not have a down payment prior to move date. Look for these. The questions below: How easy to get a refund? Impossible. The only good is that I learned before I put my things in their hands. Look at reddit reviews and photos. I sure wish I had.

I guess I should have read the reviews first. So so so so many 1-Star. And I now have the misfortune myself of the same experience. What they tell you when they sell you and when they pick up and what actually happens is far from the truth. I was driven by the fact that they are family owned. But if this is true the family really does not care. They make their money and care very little for such a stressful time for most which is a move. They picked up from our house a week ago and we still cannot even receive an ETA on when we will hopefully get our belongings. The girl in the phone told me like I’m stupid “ Mam we cannot give you an ETA on the ETA”. Well that’s just great our option is to wait 21 days or more? Frustrated,Disappointed, does not begin to describe how we feel. And we still have to see if we actually get everything. The stress this company has caused is understandably one of the worst and I’m 60 years old so that says a lot.

Not happy with this company. Gave me a quote for $4,800 even after expressing the size of our appartment. On the day of the move the price doubled. Now we have to pay an elevator toll of 100.00 and an extra 75.00 for how many feet to the appartment. In all, we've paid an extra 5,000. Be careful with this company.

Sales were great, problem was moving day and being lied to by dispatch. I was told I needed a Semi for all my belongings, and a 26 ft truck showed up. I called and they assured me another 26 ft would be there. My furniture sat outside in the freezing weather for 10 hours waiting for a Semi to arrive, and it arrived at 2am. Since there was no furniture in the house, we sat on the floor in the house waiting for the Semi that was promised in the first place. This is all after my moving day being confirmed and it was delayed a day. They were very responsive to my messages UNTIL moving day and there was an issue. Now 30k in and NO responses to their lies and poor treatment. Moving is stressful and expensive enough without being lied to.

I urge you to find another mover. Midland Van Lines runs a bait and switch company who hires brokers to find trucks and drivers. Zero integrity, zero accountability, less than zero customer service. My experience was nothing short of horrible. Too many incidents to site but trust me when I say, if you want a stress free move, find another company. They are not BBB approved and are simply shameless. I hope my horrible experience saves you from making the same mistake I did.

Midland Van Lines (a.k.a. Horse$#*! Van Lines) is a total scam! They have the most incompetent staff on the planet and are totally out to bilk anyone out of money and deliver deplorable service. I would not recommend them to ANYONE! They do not have proper equipment or truck (No 18 wheelers) and have a bunch on non-English speaking Venezuelans and Cubans working for them who are just "taking orders" and help them to scam more money out of clients. Their executive staff should be placed in Federal Penitentiaries. The Three Stooges could run a better company. Tip for consumers: Everyone associated with Midland Van Lines (a.k.a. Horse$#*! Van Lines) should be flogged and executed. Nothing but a scam and I hope Trump deports all of their employees.

If there were a 1/2 Star rating, I would use that!!! Pros: Steve Graf seemed very helpful when booking our shipment and it appeared he applied as many discounts as could be applied (shipping cost was in excess of $5000 for non-premium add on shipping). Customer service/QC Frank was as helpful as possible with the service information available, and he did call us back twice once we were finally able to talk with a human being. CONS: 1. Upcharge at pickup due to under estimation during initial setup of contract ($600+) 2.. Difficulty in contacting a human being to discuss delivery of household goods (finally we got in contact with Gary from customer service who was rude and was unable to tell us where our goods were or delivery date). We were told by the pickup team leader the HHGs were being immediately transferred to a delivery driver and would be delivered in 4-6 days). 3. Tied our two mattresses onto the back of their completely filled box truck (which did not have the agreed upon spacing due to overfilling prior to our pickup). 4. Midland uses contract personnel for outsourcing on pickup and delivery who care about being paid, but not overly concerned about your items. 5. Packing of boxes by Midland resulted in one box containing our small appliances being packed without cushioning (all appliances broken). 6. Delivery was 12 days after pickup and there was an upcharge for delivery ($285). 7. As a NON PREIMIUM shipment, you are not guaranteed a pickup date, delivery date, a location of your goods, and damages are based on 60 cents per pound of each damaged item. 8. The Damage to furniture was minor and we were able to repair ourselves (they don't care). Bottom Line Search for a reliable and reputable shipper who is BBB certified and who won't take advantage of you - Midland Van Lines is not BBB certified and really doesn't seem to care.

Midland Van Lines is the worst company to work with. We were told by James that Midland was family & veteran owned. James had also given an guaranteed delivery date of August 5th to my family. All my lifelong belongings and everything important to us had not shown up. I called Midland several times, and never had anyone pick up the phone. Dominique had finally answered but she was very rude and seemed agitated, she didn't listen to anything we had to say and numerously cut us off and told us our guaranteed delivery date was a typo and regardless of it being a signed contract, that she can't help us and went to hang up the phone. After multiple calls and emails, we were told stuff would be delivered to Virginia on either August 27, or August 28th. Many of our family members changed their plans for the week so our mother could find the first flight out Virginia and help out with the move. It is the night of the 28th and we are now being told our belongings never left, and that we will be getting them A WEEK from now. We have been lied to and deceived by this company and their antics. This is costing us thousands of dollars for our family. Midland will ignore calls and be rude towards you for no reason. DO NOT use this company.

My wife received an estimate from Midlandvanlines for our move from Kansas, KS to Nashville, TN. James Lista was our contact person and asked for detailed information about our moving items over the phone. My wife provided a comprehensive list. After confirming the details, James called my wife around 9:00 pm on November 25, 2024, informing her that we needed to pay a deposit of $3,065 to reserve a truck. He emphasized the urgency due to the end-of-year and Christmas season, prompting my wife to immediately pay the deposit by photo check. During the estimation process, James focused solely on the detailed item list and quantities. He sent us a document for signature, which we reviewed without noticing the total estimated volume of 1,127 CuFT. Trusting the moving company's experience, we assumed this volume was accurate and signed the document. On December 7, 2024, just five days before our pick-up date, Gary Parker, who claimed to be James Lista’s boss, called to discuss the inventory list. He stated that the estimated volume of our moving items was significantly lower than normal for our 5,000 sqft house and asked us to pay almost three times the contract amount. Despite our assertion that the volume was calculated by James Lista, Gary repeatedly pointed out that we had signed off on the 1,127 CuFT estimate. Feeling upset, we requested a refund, but Gary insisted that refunds could only be issued if we cancelled the move seven days before the pick-up date. Since he had called us just five days prior, cancelling was not an option, which made it seem like a planned fraud. Unable to reach James Lista, we contacted Midlandvanlines' customer service. Gary called us back, stating that contacting customer service was pointless as he was the sole decision-maker in the company. On moving day, December 12, 2024, the moving truck arrived at 1:00 pm. The movers checked all our items against the list and demanded we pay three times the original contract amount, threatening to leave if we didn't comply. This turned our moving day into a nightmare. My wife and I felt this was a pre-planned fraud. We suspect that James Lista might not be a real person and that Gary Parker could be acting both roles. Their business model seems to involve: 1) proposing a low price with a virtual name, 2) getting the shipper to sign the contract and to pay the deposit, 3) contacting the shipper after the cancel grace period to demand a higher price, and 4) keeping the deposit without providing moving services if the shipper doesn’t agree to pay more. We WILL take LEGAL ACTION to recover the deposit, and any financial losses incurred if refunding and proper compensation is not made shortly.

ALL OF THE GOOD COMMENTS ARE FAKE. Midland Van Lines is the worst moving company I’ve ever dealt with. While the sales rep, Steven, initially reassured us with reasonable pricing and delivery promises, everything fell apart after that. Frank, another representative, was shockingly rude—accusing me of being a fraud and dismissing issues as a "language barrier." Delivery, initially promised between November 22-24, was delayed to the 26th, and they called at 11 PM on the 24th with no explanation. WE HAVENT'T SEEN OUR FURNITURE FOR 1 MONTH AFTER AND IT ARRIVED BROKEN When the movers finally arrived, they demanded an extra $2,000, claiming their "eye measurement" was better than the dimensions we had carefully provided. To top it off, the lock on the truck was frozen due to the cold, and—unsurprisingly—they charged us an additional fee for that too! Customer service was equally unhelpful and rude. The delivery process dragged on for a month, with constant delays and hidden fees—charges for walking a meter, packaging, long rides, and more. It felt like they intentionally added costs at every step. To make matters worse, every person I dealt with was horrible: Steven, Chris, Frank, Jared W., and Mike provided the worst customer service imaginable. They were rude, unprofessional, and completely unhelpful. And the cherry on top—they broke most of the furniture! This company is nothing but a scam with deceptive practices and incompetent staff. Avoid Midland Van Lines at all costs!

MY UGLY EXPERIENCE WITH MIDLAND VAN LINES MOVING COMPANY I spoke with Steven Grauf on 12/04/24 and gave him the exact size of my storage unit, which I even pulled up from my email and told him was 10x15x8. He intentionally removed 1 from the 15 and wrote 10x5x8. We agreed on $2,382.51 total to move all my stuff from the above unit from Houston, TX, to Tampa, FL. Immediately after they pulled the $982.56 deposit he demanded, Steven stopped picking up my calls and never responded to my texts. Meanwhile, he told me that he was my account manager, that I should call or text him if I have any questions. Today, 12/12/24, a Gary called me and said he's a quality assurance guy from Midland Van Lines and wants to take inventory of my items they'll be moving. I said okay. After I answered all his questions [the same things I previously told Steven], Gary told me that my bill is now $5,800+, and that the bill of lading I signed said that my storage unit is 10x5x8! That I have to pay him another $1,300 deposit [on top of the deposit I previously paid]. When I requested that he should refund me my hard-earned $982.56, he told me no refunds. The next thing, I got a text from him and from Steven's line saying that they have canceled my scheduled service and won't refund me. I am raging in anger right now because these were the same things Steven told me that other moving companies do to folks, and he even advised me to block anyone else that calls me from other moving companies. Steven hurled my ass to sign the bill of lading while he held me over the phone and told me that if I don't sign right away, I will lose the slot, and I won't get scheduled. That they typically don't have any space for a move within 2-3 weeks timeframe, that I was very lucky something popped up and that he needs me to sign and pay immediately to secure the spot, and that it only takes a few seconds to sign. When I told him that I really need to read the contract before signing, Steven told me that I don't need to read the whole document before signing and that I will lose the chances of being moved on December 15th as planned, that I should use my phone and sign on their eSignature platform via the email he/the system sent to me already. Hence, I signed it. Steven never told me that my deposit is non-refundable and that they'll jack up my bill 3 days before my moving date! This was a master-planned scam! TO MIDLAND VAN LINES, I NEED MY MONEY BACK TO MY ORIGINAL FORM OF PAYMENT, ASAP!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! If I could give zero stars, I would. I was given incorrect information from the beginning of this process in June, all the way to the very end in November. This company is completely incompetent in doing anything correctly. This entire thing was a headache. I could rarely get ahold of people. I dealt with Caleb, Gary, Thalia, and Frank. It would take multiple calls, emails, and texts to each person to even get a response days later. Eli, the foreman was nasty and aggressive when he arrived. He added $1k onto my price with cubic feet AND packing supplies which I had already provided. When I spoke with Frank at customer service to see why it was so much he kept talking over me rudely and repeating to me to read my contract and the fine print. He also kept asking me why I signed if I didn’t understand correctly. Eli asked me when I want the items to arrive. I said Friday 11/8, but then I also mentioned how I thought it takes up to 14 days. He said “No, I will get it there on this date.” When Friday came, I called customer service and was advised my items were in storage until 11/8 and how it takes 14 days from that date to arrive. I asked why I was told something else and he had nothing to say. When we finally got our items, we were charged an extra $16, even though we already paid during the first pickup. I understand it’s only $16, but it’s principle that this company will take and take and take any chance they get. They didn’t communicate it was already handled with Eli. The driver wouldn’t start until we paid it and no one from midland vans was answering numerous phone call attempts. Moving is stressful to begin with, and moving out of state is even worse. I highly recommend you do NOT use Midland Van Lines, it’s a complete crock, ran by crooks. They aren’t a moving company-they are a broker who sub out to others drivers, they do not own their own vans or have their own truck drivers. They claim they aren’t brokers, but they 100% are. Save the time and money and do yourself a huge favor and use another company!

AVOID MIDLAND VAN LINES AT ALL COSTS! We have an attorney, contacted the Attorney General's Office, and filed a complaint with FMCSA/BBB. A $16,500 move became a $34,500 move with wire transfers, Zelle/Venmo payments to Russian bank accounts. Derek from Midland offered a contract for $16,500 (partial pack move). Midland Van Lines is not your mover. They broker vendors to negate ownership of their failures. Two days before our move, Midland requests full assessment of our items to assure the right size truck. We are told our contracted quote of $16,500 was incorrect. We owe $26,500. We paid it. On moving day, Deluxe Express (vendor) arrives. They refuse to honor the partial pack as contracted for. We owe them $2500 via wire transfer for service. Upon completion, they inform us, "if we want our belongings to arrive safely and on time, we owe a 20% tip, $2500, to them via Zelle. Two days before arrival at our new home, our driver from AJ Express Inc (vendor) calls. They will not be able to get their truck in our driveway. We owe them $2500 for delivery via wire transfer. If we do not pay the $2500, we must unload their truck & move our belongings ourselves. The night before delivery AJ Express Inc demands full payment via Zelle. They arrive at our home and demand $2500 to unload our belongings off their truck. Our items are damaged / broken. Devastating. Midland Van Lines uses Carrier Global Inc to transport cars. A man arrives to pick up our truck with his own Ford Explorer and Home Depot trailer. His wife communicates with us, angrily, when we ask for written documentation of transport. They refuse. They deliver our vehicle at midnight and were aggressive when we were not available. Midland/Carrier offered no help. All payments were made to the personal Venmo of the wife of driver. Rapid Auto Group LLC transports my Lexus SUV. My Lexus is lost with no communication from the driver or Carrier Global. We are filing a police report to report my Lexus as stolen.

Midland Van Lines is the worst company I have ever worked with. I just graduated college and started a graduate program across the country. I had to move from Chicago IL to Richmond VA, alone, and after experiencing severe mental trauma, I decided handling it myself was too much and hired a moving company. I chose Midland because I saw on a website that they were family owned and veteran owned, two very important things to me. We discussed terms, and were off to the races. After picking up my items on July 28, I had a guaranteed delivery date, as per our contract, of August 5. Two days before delivery I said all my goodbyes, got in my car and took off for my new life adventure. When I got to Richmond, what did I find? NOTHING. After calling many times, I finally spoke to Dominique at Midland, and found she was INCREDIBLY rude and patronizing. I was told that my guaranteed delivery date was a typo, despite being signed by both the company driver and myself, and they would not honor it. Two WEEKS after, and calling them nearly every day, I was told my lifelong belongings were due to be delivered on either August 27 or 28. My mother booked a $900 flight on short notice, as since my classes have started I cannot be present to receive my belongings, and flew out to Richmond. I am now writing this review, the night of August 28, after being told my items never even made it into transit, and are still a week out from scheduled delivery. I have NO WORDS to express how furious I am. I moved across the country to forge a new path, and was made a fool by trusting this malicious, manipulative company. Nearly every day this past month I have called, and have been ignored, patronized, lied to, and manipulated. Do not give this company one red cent.
