First time I used them to send a parcel it turned up a month late. This time i ordered a tin (as in made of sturdy metal) of pencils and it came on time but bent almost in half, despite the fact that it had been wrapped sensibly in two layers of bubble wrap by the seller. Almost all of the pencils inside were at least broken in two if not shattered down the whole length and completely unusable. I've had nothing but bad from them. Even soft packages would probably turn up ripped as the packaging on my delivery was in tatters when it turned up. I would not recommend them under any circumstances

Appalling service. Despite there being no error in the delivery address details, no attempt was made to find my house. I tried to contact through phone and you get pushed to the website. You go on Live Chat and it's anything but!!! Just a robotic machine steering you into a cul-de-sac. There is no facility to speak with anyone, leave a number or even write an email............shocking service!!!

Appalling service, unable to get in touch with their customer service team, locally known as 'My Herpes' because of their atrocious service. Interesting options below for reviewing things: How did you communicate with the company? Live Chat - not an option, Email - not an option, Telephone - automated service that only redirects you to the website, no one to speak to. It does appear that Hermes will do anything to avoid contact with disgruntled customers.

worst company for customer service i have ever had the misfortune to deal with. the only contact is via a chat-bot with limited abiity to ask or answer questions. a two day delivery has been nealy 3 weeks and still not arrived. The first email i received after going thru the awful query process said "dont worry the parcel is on its way". What a load of rubbish. I will never use them again.

As we are in lockdown I opted to use the Dunelm Mill return process provided by Hermes to return two parcels. I booked my first parcel for collection on Tuesday 26th January and waited for Hermes to collect. Around midday I received an email to tell me that there was a delay with my parcel and they would contact me again on Tuesday 2 February. When I went into the tracker I got the message ‘Your friendly local courier tried to collect your parcel today but you weren't in. We'll try again on the next working day’. However I was at home at the time and had never been out. I gave them the benefit of the doubt though assuming I hadn’t heard them, if perhaps they had only knocked the door, not rung the bell. I subsequently had a second parcel to return and booked it for collection on Friday 29th January, with the intention that they could collect this and my first parcel at the same time. Mid afternoon (during my allotted slot) I again received an email telling me there was a delay with my parcel and they would contact me on Monday 1 February. Again, the tracker said ‘Your friendly local courier tried to collect your parcel today but you weren't in. We'll try again on the next working day’. However on this occasion I was sitting in the living room with full view of the front door so I would have seen them arrive. Also my partner was working out front in the driveway the whole time and no one came to the door. So this time I have proof that they never attempted to collect the parcel and I suspect now they never attempted to collect the first one either. I was unable to speak to anyone when I called the telephone number and the customer services chat feature was useless. Needless to say I returned both parcels to my nearest Dunelm Mill store, without any problem, using their external click and collect return. Should Hermes actually attempt to collect the parcels next week all they will get is a piece of mind! Avoid this service at all costs.

Worse company ever! I have uploaded 2 pictures from 2 different orders. Emails saying that I am going to receive my parcels and they never showed up. Today in the track system , I still have the same information. When I call them, I also have the same info: my parcel IS going to be delivered yesterday. Not Was going. Unbelievable

APPALLING customer service .. COULD NOT BE WORSE! APPALLING customer service ... If it works it's ok. BUT WHEN IT GOES WRONG THEY COULD NOT BE WORSE. Hermes lost my parcel. I paid extra to insure the contents to their full value. HERMES made it almost impossible to make a claim. They have squirmed at every turn to avoid paying the compensation they undeniably owe me. This started in September 2020. At every stage, I have been clear and patient. They have obfuscated, delayed, lied and even delivered another customer's parcel to my recipient and claimed it was mine. As they clearly have no intention to honor their contract with me .. to either deliver my parcel, or pay appropriate compensation if they fail to do so/lose it ... my only option is now to make a Small Claim's Court claim.

How is this company still trading .....? Incompetence beyond belief. More than one incident.....leave a package on my doorstep in the pouring rain and lie about where they left it ....took 1 hour to get through to complaints which led to absolutely no resolve ......broken package delivered to my customer with all the necessary wrapping and fragile sticker on .....with over another hour to get through to them......if I ran buisness like these cowboys I would be out of buisness in no time .....why do they even still get contracts for delivering? ? ? ?

*AVOID WHERE POSSIBLE* I was expecting a package from my boyfriend as we haven’t been able to see each other for 4 months and paid over £15 to get it delivered quickly and nothing came in the first week. So we phoned Hermes and the said it had been damaged and they said it has been ‘repackaged’ and should be with me within 48 hours... This was not the case so after being on hold again for another hour, they said that the package had been damaged and disposed of or lost. However, it wasn’t something that could have damaged very easily, I believe it was opened by their staff and stuff taken from it, this is not the first time that has happened with Hermes. Because of the contents probably will not even see any money from them either even though it is insured. Check the ‘NO COMPENSATION’ list as it lists just about everything you can think of on there, therefore your package won’t actually be insured and you will most likely not be compensated. Absolutely appalled, disgusted at their business, customer service and I would be ashamed to work for that company. This is not the first “lost or damaged” parcel and have also ordered from big businesses that use Hermes and the parcels have made it to Hermes but never to me... Stay clear, what an absolute disgrace, not even deserving of one star but have to give it one to submit review.

Worse than Yodel, failed to deliver parcel and said they had access problems. can't call customer service and they never call back. I'd suggest they are fraudulent as they do not do what they claim to do.

Appalling. Mixed up my delivery with someone else so the app stated 'delivered' when it wasn't - it even had a picture of someone's item - not mine. Tried calling numerous times but their customer service is completely closed - impossible so actually speak to anyone at Hermes to resolve the issue. How can you run a service if you have NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. The items were 3 PLANTS - PERISHIBLE items which should have been delivered straight away. Horrible experience leaving me completely helpless to resolve - no doubt I will NEVER see these plants and if they do arrive they will be dead and with no customer service I will never get a refund. WORST delivery company in the UK.

I had 4 good experiences with Hermes previously - november and december 2020 - both within the UK and inernational. This month I dropped off a parcel on 9th Jan to go to Belgium. Tracking service unreliable - for 14 days it listed my parcel as not yet dropped off when I did that myself. Nothing to give me confidence it will be found. Looking t these reviews it appears that hermes is in a complete mess. I am expecting to hear that it closes

Easy to take your money but service and communication is non existent. Had 3 conversations opened with their robot Holly but nothing happens as they just send you a reference number on email. I eventually did speak to someone where i got a refund and i was told i had to go through the buying process again. Being a mug, i did just that. Next day, they arrived and was told that the box was too big for his car. He said he will contact local office and someone will pick up later. What a load of bo..ocks. No one came or no emails to clarify situation. Phoned up another company who promptly arrived the next day in full uniform and a large van with professional logo rather than a scruffy boy in jeans and crappy estate car that looks like it was going to die. Im not holding my breath for a refund or even the courtesy to be contacted. Hermes should be ashamed of themselves for calling themselves a courier company. They should be called Haemorrhoids as they are full of shi*

Two parcels sent internationally, both sent from same location but with several months between each. Both seem to suffer the same fate - i.e. they sit being processed for an inordinately long time - the first it was three weeks - the sender visited the dispatch point and could see it sitting on the table every time he went by. In the current case we are up to 13 days. I have contacted customer services, and to be fair they have been very helpful - that said they are just phone jockeys and have no control over the movement of parcels - I would hazard a guess, given my experience, no one has or wants to. The saying good money for old rope is quite apt here. Contacted live chat again on 29th - get the same chat person, initially very helpful, then announces his shift is over and he is going to transfer me to another colleague - but instead ends the chat - possibly a mistake and my anger level is raised several notches. He was doing well up until that point. Still have no idea when to expect any movement of the parcel. Terrible service and will not be using again and would similarly advise others the same.

I sent a parcel on 7th Jan 2020. this has been picked up by hermes but never delivered. It just says "we've got it" I have tried phoning but phone line is always busy. Can't even send message . I am very unimpressed with this company. Will never use again.

Courier never picked up my package and they did not make any contact. Customer relations took hours to get hold of and were completely unapologetic. They allowed me to cancel, but no attempt was made to put things right.

Do not get next day delivery, it takes the same amount of time to get here as it would if you get standard delivery

I unknowingly ordered from a website that uses Hermes and for the second time they have lost my parcel. About a year ago they lost another parcel they were supposed to deliver to me. I order so much stuff online and they are the only times my parcels have been lost. Absolute nightmare of a company. I will make a point of checking what courier a vendor uses before ordering in the future. Avoid like the plague.
