This company is utterly useless, incompetent and uncaring. I would give them zero stars, if possible. Avoid at all costs, otherwise you will regret it. You have been warned.

It it impossible to understand OVO Energy’s incredibly high bills. They make no sense and they add on extra charges without explanation. Is this even legal? The worst big company I have ever dealt with. I would pay someone to independently go through my bills and calculate the correct amounts. In the 15 months I was with them I think, in total, we have been overcharged several thousand pounds. Their call centres are hopeless and I found the wording of the bills we received intimidating. Nothing positive to say about my dealings with OVO.

Which is it? Short of funds totally ineffective or both! Once again FIT Reading give again on the first of the month and 3 months later still waiting for payment.

Customer service are very hard to understand or Can't even speak to anyone.... electric bill has almost doubled with OVO after I was transferred from SSE....

I have been generous in giving a one, this is only because I can not give a minus!! I have been trying to deal with and resolve an issue Ovo Energy for 6 months. They initially sent me an estimated bill for over £1,000. I tried to resolve the issue and sent them photos of the readings. They did nothing and started to call and text me threatening me with debt collection agents and to damage my credit. I lodged a complaint and had an auto-response saying they would respond in up to 5 days. 10 weeks later, I still have not had a response but they continue to harass me. I’ve made 5 complaints but still had no response apart from threatening ones. They will not send me a copy of their complaints procedure or service standards, and without doubt, have failed to stick to them. I’m at my wit's end, I was off work with mental health problems last year and have explained this but they continue to bully and harass me. I’m at the point of wanting to report them to the police and have begged them to take me to court just so that I can resolve this rather than continuing to text and call me just to make threats. I’m sure I can’t be alone, their behavior towards customers is disgusting.

I have no gas was told engineer would be out with in 3hours still waiting on them coming it is now 9 o’clock at night have not been able to cook for the children

Having such a hard time getting my… Having such a hard time getting my final bill sorted, the house was unoccupied for a short period in between tennants, I called to pay the bill, set up an account and submitted the readings, based on the standing charge and the unit rates my final bill should be £47.02 quite simple to calculate but they keep demanding hundreds of pounds every time I call to resolve they tell me a different amount the total on my letters is different from the amount they tell me on the phone at one point they wanted over £600 I have spent probably around 6 hrs on the phone to them over around 7 or 8 phone calls and I’m still no closer, I raised complaints which they have told me have been wiped off the system as the complaint is resolved when it is clearly not. I think they are preying on people to get so fed up they just pay the amount they want. They have actually now got a debt collector to chase me for the money which I am now worried will effect my credit rating. I have read lots of bad reviews on other platforms and I’m not sure how this company is still aloud to keep trading.

I would urge no-one to use OVO Energy. I would have rated them less than 1 but the system wouldn’t let me. They are frauds - they have overcharged my mother -in-law, a vulnerable 86 year old, whose account with SSE, had a credit balance of over £1000 to £5000 in debit when she was automatically transferred to OVO. Her KWh used have trebled whilst she has been with OVO, they have vastly overestimated her gas bills and charged her for two meters when she got a new meter in Feb. They doubled her direct debit to £321 per month. We complained at the beginning of July and have had no phone calls from them, despite being told we would be contacted, our first complaint was demoted to a “billing issue” and we still do not have a resolution. They don’t care. They must be making millions on the interest from customers overpayments. Don’t use them.

Good afternoon I'm over 1000 credit with my gas bill I called todsy to ask to get my 1000 pound bsck in my bank as I had a death in family and need to travel to London from Scotland I don't drive need to grt train so I asking for my money to be refunded todsy

Worst day of my life ... I’m an OAP ... OVO continued supplying even after we changed supplier .. they go on about being right all time ... they have access to national data base .. they can stop other supplier taking over ... it’s a nightmare... wish we had never heard of them. It’s about making money not serving the customer as far as we’re concerned.

We have been with Ovo for about 6 months after being with SSE. we were paying average 180 a month. then we got hit with a 1600 bill on top of our payments so it's cost over 3k for gas and electric for 6 months usage which is shocking. Customer service is no help they just flop you of and they don't even sent you your monthly statements we have asked 6 times we are still waiting. any advice is appreciated with this shocking company needs reporting to training standards Do Not Use This Company Con merchant!

Got new ovo card in post was originally sse no problems with them have been stocking up gas ready for winter to then after being on hold for hour that I cannot use new card till I've used up all my credit I suffer with bad health so stocking up with gas would see me through winter now I'm told I cant do that.the lady was so stand offish and no help could hardly understand her or hear her due to bad reception.help please what can I do

Terrible company. When I was transferred from SSE to OVO all problems started. With SSE I never had an issue. Paid my bills each months with no issue than the sudden swop to OVO and that was the last of a stress free life. Got told I wow £500 and was charged each month by £100s red letters even though I was paying my bills. I rung a few times and after a week they sorted it and I was suddenly £1300 in credit online. It was good while it lasted. I checked and was £1100 in credit in June and checked again and Boom -£780 in debt. How can anyone go from £1100 credit to debt by almost £800 in 2 months. I checked my energy usage and they have changed me £837 electric for June and 700+ for July. And charged me roughly £30 a day for the first 8 days of august. My monthly electric average is between 23-28 pounds. Those people are fraudsters. I would have never known about this unless I checked my OVO account to see how much credit is left. I rung them and they tried to palm me off. At the point now of just not paying anymore and going to court to show they are defrauding people

FiT meter registration is shambolic. Having provided the required information to transfer the FiT meter from a house move I was told there would be a 28 day turnaround. It has now been just under 6 months and despite several emails and phone calls, a wrong payment of £400 which I was then asked to return, and a guarantee that it would be registered in another 28 days 3 months ago, I have still not received contact or registration. I have tried to formally complain and this hasn't been acknowledged. Ovo are currently providing me with no service, untrue time frames for service to start, incorrect payments and then demands for their return and no formal means to complain to seek a resolution. Yes I have an axe to grind with this review but I would advise all to avoid based on my poor experience.

On the 7th August I put £25.00 to top my PAYGO meter. The balance was down to £20.00 so the £25.00 I put on should have brought it up to £45.00. The receipt I received from the pay point at the newsagents confirmed that the 'transaction was successful'. The only problem being that this amount wasn't credited to my not-so-smart meter. So where did it go? OVO's coffee and biscuits fund? Their CEO's Harvey Nicholls charge card? Sandwiches by their riverside HQ? They clearly don't believe me. I tried to call them! Now this is where everything collapses to dust with this lot. Getting to try and speak to someone (I could understand) is akin to buying something from the North Korean Ebay site. All off their phone lines funnel into some form of: " basically we don't want to talk to you so! press this/press that/ Go on Twitter/what's App/social media" et all. Having chewed the stuffing out of my sofa in frustration I gave up. I concluded my pithy letter with a final sentence: Here's 3 words that will improve you business at a stroke: ANSWER YOUR PHONES! Fat chance! for all their blather about protecting valuable customers blah blah blah. They don't give ****. It has been over a week now and I've not had as much as an email - let alone an apology. I'm in the precess of switching to another company - I'm sure whoever I choose cannot be worse than OVO.

Been passed from SSe to OVO, Had my final bill transfer to OVO it was £700+,yet saw my latest statement it was £93. Been with OVo for just two and half months been given final bill of £10000+,called them out a lot of complain and enquiries they drop it three times first £3000+ then went down to £2000+ then again went down to £1000+ now they telling me the last final bill is £2800. I told them iam no longer with OVO they still giving me bill till August.although I was just with them for two and half months. I dont know how that £700 from SSe turn into a £2800 to OVO for just been with them for two n half months.😅😅😅

Almost from day one, I’ve been plagued by the shabby way this company treats us pay by mail users . On the 3rd of January i posted a cheque to OVO , after a week or so I’ m told by email that I haven’t paid .I waited afew more days before going to Nationwide who informed me that my cheque had been cleared on the18th of January . Other cheques have for somereason failed to reach the PO box in Havant . Right now I’m being hounded because , again someone is not collecting the mail from the PO box. They tell me that I need help ? Which apparently involves my giving OVO access to my bank account . No chance!!!

Very poor service, left us without electricity or smart meter when installing a new smart meter. Was told I would be treated as priority for new appointment once electrician sorted the problem. Sorted the same day so called to rebook. Was told I couldn't rebook for the rest of the work to be carried out for 7 days and I would be contacted. No contact within that time so I called to rebook, sorted after a long call to discuss. Next day new appointment cancelled due to lack of engineers and couldn't rebook for another 8 weeks. Might or might not get the smart meter work finished at some point I suppose but will most likely move supplier if that's how they treat customers. Update: And it continues, another booked appointment canceled after complaining and being rebooked. OVO use a 3rd party (SMSplc) to do the smart meter installations, when the appointment is booked with OVO SMSplc just cancel it the next day. Complete waste of time.
