The modern and innovative answer to an estate agents, we’re the revolution that the property market needed. Here at Purplebricks, we’re still ‘proper’ estate agents, we just do things a little differently to benefit our customers. We work longer, more flexible hours, we don’t charge commission and we let you take control as much or as little as you want. Our customers can’t get enough of this new way of selling, buying and renting property and praise the way we work after battling with the cons of traditional estate agents for too long. We know the world of property can be stressful, so all we’ve done is made it simple with great customer service and digital access to all the details and paperwork you need, 24 hours a day. Don’t just take our word for it as thousands of people each month leaving purplebricks reviews can’t be wrong. The meeting with the agent sounded wonderful . Houses in my area are selling fast you have 24/7 CONTACT with your manager wont take long to sell . 189 days later and 5 viewings and 3 changes of viewing agent we finally contacted the council as they were doing an empty homes scheme and we are now in the process of selling. It was very hard to get any of the three viewing agents to respond to calls and texts. At one point we had an offer PB rang them up and was so rude the family they withdrew their offer and refused to do anything as long as purple bricks had their finger in the pie . so we had an offer recently which we accepted, PB didnt let anyone know we had accepted . I had to contact the seller and their solicitor then my solicitor i asked why PB hadnt done this they said they didnt now the offer was accepted . Then PB sent me an email informing me that someone had made an offer i said yes i know i told you . There were points along the way where we enquired about using a different estate agents after we reduced the price and we asked PB to inform all the people who had viewed the house the price had been changed , everything was too much of an effort. Initial contact was great then all down hill. I WOULDNT BOTHER USING THEM AGAIN!

Purplebricks get paid to NOT sell your property Purplebricks offer a cheap service because YOU PAY whether you sell your property or not. They get paid anyway so they are not incentivised to do anything proactive and I can truly say they are the worst company I have ever dealt with. Their unprofessionalism, inefficiency and incompetence are unrivalled. I put my property on with them and initially had many requests to view via their app which were cancelled within minutes. The agent dealing left within the first few weeks and her replacement never returned calls, I heard nothing for months and emails went unanswered. It was apparent after the property had been on the market for a few weeks that Purplebricks lost interest. Eventually I took the property off the market and immediately received a bill for £1,999 from a company called Duologi. Apparently if you opt for the “pay later” option Duologi pay Purplebricks and then take on the “debt” so you are effectively entering into a finance contract with them – none of which was explained to me (the agent I initially met told me I only paid when the property was sold or 10 months after if I chose this option) and I naively clicked on the marketing materials emailed to me without reading the small print, a costly lesson learned. To add insult to injury Purplebricks refused to return my keys (which included an expensive chipped main door fob as well as keys to the actual apartment itself) for six weeks, ignored all emails and phone calls and only returned the keys when I threatened them with the police as this was a security issue. I went through their complaints process which took months and then to the Ombudsman but was hounded at home and work even before the case was decided by debt recovery agents who demanded my personal information but refused to tell me who they were so I blocked them thinking they were scammers. Interestingly the Ombudsman had a huge file of complaints about this company which is why they took months to deal with my case. Purplebricks even ignored the Ombudsman’s request to send them their file so the case was decided without it. I would be quite happy to pay if I got a halfway decent service BUT I object to paying for a service that was not only substandard, it was non-existent and caused a lot of stress and in the meantime interest rates went up and the market flattened out. We the consumer should be able to have some redress against a company for negligent performance but it would seem we have not as all I got bleated to me was “you signed the paperwork”. Yes I did but I was also misled verbally and promised a decent professional service which I did not get. I find it hard to believe in this highly regulated world that a company can trade in this way. This is quite unacceptable. Please read the negative reviews on here and also look at the Facebook site “Do Not Use Purplebricks” and you will see many, many other horror stories. Remember, there is a reason this company was sold for £1 earlier this year. Do not believe their strapline or marketing bumf. Please, please do not trust this company and go to an agent with a robust NO SALE NO FEE policy. You will pay more but trust me it’s worth it.

My name is John Ruane from Warrington I was selling my house through purplebricks. I was totally miss sold a service, which was never lived up to. Totally over valued to win the contract, minimum contact, only getting call backs when I chased up progress reports or if they suggested dropping the price on several occasions by £50k. After months of getting no where and terminating the agreement, they still chased the payment. I went through all avenues of their two tier complaints procedure, to which they admitted poor service and failings, I got a reduced agreed payment amount. They then hide behind a payment collection partner, who they do not liaise with. I then found they fraudulently took the wrong amount from my bank, then unbelievably requested this same fraudulent payment again. I had to contact the CEO Sam Mitchell, to resolve, who did not have the decency to reply to my request to help. All the way through this miss sold service, their was nothing but an unprofessional service and issues and then dishonesty. If you have had a similar service with purplebricks I would like to here of your similar experience, has I try to take this to the property onbudman and publicly to show this company for what it is. Have to repeat yourself every time you call- different people. You’re allocated a “case manager” but never get to speak to them. It’s more hassle than worth - pay cheap get a rubbish service! If you agree an offer - it goes to someone else. It’s a really stressful situation as it is. Save yourself some stress and have an estate agent where you can walk into their branch if you need to.

Once buyer was found we never heard from them again. I get a phone call from a debt collector saying we hadn’t paid them! What a cheek, good job I kept all the solicitors paperwork. Avoid these idiots.

Purple Bricks adverts properties on sites such as Zoopla, Rightmove, etc. They provide a telephone number and when you call, an automated voice asks to register at their website for a viewing, which I did. Then, I had a confirmed viewing date. I turned up at the property even 10 min earlier but no agent turned up. As everything automated, you can't get hold of them because their phone is purely automated voice record. One neighbour of the property said, a few other people had the same problem. Basically, they cancel your viewing whenever they wish to, without even letting you know! Is this professional and ethical ?

No vetting etc of so called potential clients , total waste of time . We are now going with an Agency so total waste of money plus market has now dropped so potential loss of any sale and £10’s of thousands of pounds . Purple Bricks sold , retrenchments etcetc , no notification or contact . Unacceptable and Strike company who bought them are just as bad. STAY AWAY !

Purple Bricks are dishonest and incompetent. Our point of contact is not passing on required information to other estate agents in the chain and does not respond to calls or messages. PurpleBricks accepted a conveyancing quote without either informing us of the cost or forwarding us the quote, the quote was over £1600.00 more than the average figure we were being quoted elsewhere. PurpleBricks are refusing to discuss any of this with us . Appalling company. Never Again!

The worst experience ever, do not use them or do business with them!!! Unfortunately we had to deal with this bunch of unprofessional people for a months and a half, and this is for rental (!). This was the longest process to rent a flat ever. We made a rental offer on May 20, on May 21 we received an approval so that day we filled in the application, provided references and paid the initial deposit. By May 23 we received a notification that the reference check was completed. And then the hell started. I had to chase a representative from Purplebricks re the status on our contract, etc and there were just constant lying, I am specifically referring to Areen Nazir. Every time there was something. I was very close to just walk away as we lived in limbo not knowing when and if this move would happen. We finally got a contract on Jun 23 (they wanted us to move on Jun 25!). We received a signed contract on Jun 28 (!) and we were supposed to vacate our old property on Jul 1. Being 5 month pregnant I had literally 2 days to pack my old property in 2 days. On Jun 29, I received a series of patronising emails that I owe Purplebricks - £0.85p (!) as they indicated “a wrong amount on deposit” in our contract. No apology, no explanation (this was Adam Pitt) – just a demand which followed by a new set of docs for us to sign. To top this all up – this £0.85p was a mistake and the initial amount was correct so then they had to reimburse £0.85p… Again no apology (Adam Pitt). I complained and some lady called me back and promised to send everything in writing… still waiting. This is not the end – apparently Purplebricks submitted to Westminster Council and utility providers information that we moved into a property on Jun 25 and now they all asking to pay bills for a week I was not living in the property… I thought our engagement with this horrible company was finished but no I still have to deal with the mess they created for me. Please be aware and under any circumstances do not use this company!

Very poor service. Signed up for top package £1599 Inc vat. Invoiced me for £1808. Ten months still not sold. Have queried the price difference in a letter of complaint. No contact from PB apart from an email saying we will respond in full after 15 working days. It’s now 23 days still no reply. In the beginning I did some viewings myself as they had no staff even though I paid for accompanied viewing. Unable to speak to anyone. I’m putting a package together to send to the Ombudsman

I had an appointment to view a property at 5pm, which I had booked online. However, I received a request to reschedule the appointment to 7pm and received a confirmation email for the new time. I arrived at the appointment and waited for the agent, Luke Saunders, for an extended period of time, but he never appeared. I tried calling him early to confirm the time since I was traveling from Nottingham to Birmingham for the viewing, but he did not answer the call and eventually switched off his phone. He also did not respond to any of my messages. Unfortunately, I wasted my time and effort by going to the appointment, only to discover a complete lack of professionalism. I would strongly advise against dealing with them.
