“Would give zero stars if I could!
Shocking service.
Always late on deliveries I've paid to receive on a specific date and when they finally are about to deliver and I'm inside my apartment waiting, they rather leave a card saying the parcel it's too big for my letter box.
Obviously trying to ring the bell must not be an option! Or even simply leave the parcel outside letter box like everyone else does! (it's a private building, you have to enter main door to access mail room so it's perfectly safe)
Avoid at all costs.”
“I always make sure there's somebody home all day when I know I will get a parcel delivered.
This is one of the many times I've been waiting at home all day just to come out at 7 PM and find the card from Royal mail saying they couldn't leave my parcel because it doesn't fit in the mail box.
It's an en enclosed building and you have to get in from the main door to access mail room.
So what I really don't get is: why in the world wouldn't the mail man just try and ring the bell to check if I'm in so I can just go out on grab my parcel instead of having to reschedule???!!
Or why don't you just leave it outside the letter box like everyone else does??
And the biggest problem is the item reference number is always missing!!!
How am I supposed to reschedule a delivery?
Last time I went to the office to enquire about the missing reference number, the lady at the desk didn't even let me finish the question before starting to talk over me and say that's not her department and there's nothing she can do. What a joke.”
“Terrible service.... package from Scotland to Essex - according to tracking was at Camden on the 3 of July? 7th of July still no delivery??? I could have walked to Camden and collected quicker!! Utter joke of a service, and as for the tracking option?? It will only update once a delivery has been attempted!!!”
“I couldn't fault Royal Mail services, but recently I had trouble with my deliveries and that not because of pandemi. Their new policies seems to not protect their clients, I'm just entangled on this Royal Mail web so nothing can be done. A next day delivery was just despicably handled, so I was asked to go to collect my item. Ouch ! It sounds to me as discrimination and when raised this through customer service today, the lady seemed pretty nervous. I paid for my delivery but I need to make a claim through seller even if are my money. I just wanted to know why the postman could deliver to my next door on the day my delivery was scheduled and why I have to go to collect my item and another delivery attempt didn't take place. They say that no one was home, but because of my condition I don't leave my house. Card wasn't left but the customer service persuaded to receive a card before to go to collect my item. Conclusion, just a massive lack of respect and no -one from Royal approached my property last Saturday, otherwise a card would have been left. Their excuses are just poor. That's all I can do as a frustrated customer to leave an online review maybe Royal Mail will stop abusing due to pandemic. They're great but now it's going downhill. Keep going!!!”
“I understand it is a difficult time but waiting 50 minutes to get through only to have a horrid advisor, who was of no help at all. Looks like they'll have to throw the trainers I sent my son. He was ill with Covid 19, so didn't pick them up in time. Tracking number shows they are trying to find the person who sent them, which is me but advisor was impossible. I have the tracking number but couldn't remember brand of trainers, so I have to call back again and wait another 50 minutes or email which takes 10 days. Is it worth bothering if they are intent on throwing them in the bin.”
“Parcel sent my son in Brighton and was informed when posting it would there sat 4/7 at the latest. 6/7 still nothing, not able to speak to anyone on the phone, (does anyone work there).
Unable to get any help do not know where to turn. This parcel has a tracking number but it appears they have given me the wrong number. More money for royal mail and forget the customer”
“Another update it’s now three iPhones missing in less than two weeks from same sorting office . Royal Mail superb customer service and investigation are on the case . I give you a clue to don’t take Columbo to tell you there is a probable thief somewhere . However they seem to think it’s anything but that . Another investigation another parcel missing . Horrendous company”
“Awful - had two incidents this week:
1. Non-delivery of redelivery parcel: have arranged redelivery online but... it didn't come on the confirmed day and not the following two days either. Then I went to collection address which was shut (this was at 2.30pm) and was told by postmen returning from shift "it's all a right mess here, come tomorrow before 11am if you want someone to give a look"... then I decided to write to CEO which got things moving and today (i.e. 7 days later) finally I received the parcel.
2. Monday afternoon 4.25pm I handed a parcel to Wimbledon post office, tracked 2nd class - today still not delivered at destination... This is from SW19 to SW17 in London...
Sending (and receiving) parcels with Royalmail is like being punished and having to pay for it.
PS: Have of course paperwork to prove it... grrr”
“I am really disappointed the amount of lost items in the post. As an online seller we continuously lose money.
We tried to make a claim for lost items but it is also waste of time. We never got any positive out come from our applications.”
“Not sure what the heck happened with my latest parcel due to be delivered by Royal Mail. It made it all the way to my local Distribution Office and then suddenly the address wasn't good enough and it's now being returned to sender. The only thing that was missing from the address was the name of the village where I live which shouldn't have been a problem since the Post code would have told them that. Any other delivery company would have had no problem delivering the item but Royal Mail couldn't quite figure it out.
I expect I'm going to have to pay another lot of postage to get my item now as the senders will see it as my fault because Royal Mail said the address was wrong.”
“This week I have had deliveries from other companies and all provided tracking info at every stage.
The only info on royal mail tracking is that a tracking number has been issued two days ago. It then tells me no more info will be given until a delivery has been attempted, whats the point of a tracking number at all if you can't track it.
My supplier paid for first class delivery.
I think its probably the worst tracking system i have come across.”
“Still waiting on a 48hour delivery item that was given a tracking number at 11.04 on the 28th of June , tracking number is a waste of time as it gives no info , this item is a pond pump that is desperately needed !!! Shocking service , I won’t shop with anyone who uses Royal Mail as their delivery service !!!!”
“There wasn't an option for a zero star so had to give 1. I posted international delivery but has been a MONTH LATE. when phoned them I was given a invalid number and email address for the receivers country. When phoned again I was told the parcel is not their responsibility as soon as it leaves UK and they even said that they don't have any contact number for them. Not gonna use royal mail again ever.”
“If it was possible to give Royal Mail 0 stars with a review I would so 1 star is a stretch.
I've been waiting for several small parcels which could easily fit through the letterbox beyond the timeframe they're expected; one of which was ordered in May.
I did a test to see if any mail would be delivered by sending myself a letter via a letterbox about 10 minutes from my home; this was posted 3 days ago...
There have been times where important, confidential medical letters have been sent to the wrong address, sometimes an address not even on the same street!
I've spoken to a few neighbours who have said they've experienced similar things, one said delivery had become so useless he doesn't expect items to arrive if delivered by Royal Mail, & refuses to buy anything that delivers via them.
There's no doubt if Royal Mail wasn't treated as the standard form of delivery & had to compete properly, it would go out of business within a month!”
“I sent a small parcel as 1st class Recorded delivery last week from a local post office. I checked the tracking number ever since but the parcel hasn't been delivered. I called the post office customer number with waiting time of 60 minutes!!!! but their line only played music and no one answered the phone!
I think Covid 19 was a good excuse for RM to layback further more and showing their true colours...
Everyone is loosing money by them; sellers, senders and buyers. Royal mail is a shamble and a joke”
