My dream car turned into a nightmare, and I have Saxton 4x4 to thank for that—along with Ross Chalis and Carl Murphy. They are completely careless. Before buying, they answer your calls and emails promptly, treating you with respect—it feels like a dream. But the moment you have a problem, they disappear. I bought a G63 for £140,000 on August 29th. By September 5th, I noticed that when changing gears, my car was shaking. After insisting, Saxton finally took it to their authorized Mercedes garage—but not an AMG specialist. At first, they claimed it was just a battery issue. But after I pushed them to investigate properly (because I don’t think they even used a computer to diagnose it), they said a rodent might have caused damage to the gearbox. At this point, I was still within the three-month warranty. However, when I tried to extend it, the management held a meeting and decided not to allow me to do so. So, I took the car myself to an AMG specialist. After three weeks of in-depth investigation and sending the analysis to Germany, they confirmed that the rodent issue had nothing to do with the gearbox failure. Meaning, I now have to pay for the repairs myself. I have started the process to reject the car. Please avoid Saxton 4x4—once they have your payment, you’re out of their system. This experience has left me feeling depressed and deeply disappointed.

Very disappointing and unacceptable experience. I would never recommend this place to anyone. My car was initially valued at one price for a part exchange, but on the day I went to pick up my new car and drop off my old one, things changed drastically just two hours before. 1. They told me my MOT needed at least three months to be valid and demanded a £500 deposit until a new MOT was done the next day. 2. They also required another £500 deposit until my logbook arrived. 3. On top of this, they claimed a few thousand miles difference on my car’s mileage and reduced the agreed price by £700. After heated discussions, they dropped the price again by £500 at the last minute, right as the paperwork was being finalized. This felt intentional, as they knew we liked the new car and had come prepared to complete the deal. I went in with a happy mindset, excited to buy a new car, but they ruined my mood and left me feeling cheated. If my bank loan hadn’t already gone through, I would have canceled the purchase on the spot. This kind of behavior is shocking from such a large company, and it’s clear they use underhanded tactics to make money off customers. I left with my new car feeling upset and disappointed. The sales manager, Ali Charmi, is the worst. Don’t trust him. He talks nicely and comes across as professional, but he’s actually very corrupt, trying to take money in dishonest ways. After my bad experience, I asked around and found that many people mentioned his name as well. Be very careful with this guy. God sees everything, and I believe they’ll regret treating customers this way one day. Date of experience: 04 December 2024

Avoid this dealer if you can Avoid this dealer if you can! I showed interest on a car on a Saturday. They convinced me to pay a 1000 pound deposit despite me making clear that I needed to be sure I could insure the car properly. The car was also missing a key. I cancelled my interest on a Monday after telling them on the Sunday that the car was not insurable. They refused to give me my deposit back claiming they had carried works on the car (coating) which clearly never happened on a Sunday! Please avoid and go to a proper approved Land Rover retailer!

AVOID! I called to see if I could come and view a Range Rover I told Heather I just wanted to come and have a look at a few they had on the website. I was told by Heather I needed to pay a £500 reservation fee, I said i just wanted to come and have a look but Heather said they could not guarantee a viewing if i did not pay. I reluctantly paid the £500. The car was a state and I told them I was not going to go ahead and was assured by the manager Ali that I would receive my reservation fee back within 3-5 working days they asked for my long card number and address details for the refund which I found strange as the payment could have been made by bank transfer. It has now been 3 weeks and I still have not had my money back! This is £500 to view a car that I didn’t want to pay in the first place that I still do not have it back. My calls are now being ignored and I am told they will call me back but never get a call back. They are crooks they will make you send them money that they know they are not going to give back! AVOID AT ALL COSTS THE CARS ARE AWFUL AND THEY STEAL YOUR MONEY!

Firstly, I should state that I put up this review six months ago. The manager of Saxton 4x4 phoned me and asked me to remove it "while they sorted the issue". Pretty sure that's illegal. If not then it's unethical. I agreed though as I'm always keen to give someone a chance to fix a problem. However, they have failed to uphold their end of the bargain. I purchased a Porshe Macan in July 2024. I felt I'd overpaid a little but the car was clean and in excellent condition. The salesman assured me it had a full service history and waved away further questions saying he'd send me the service book which "had been mislaid". I did a part-exchange with a vehicle which I'd meticulously taken to an Audi garage to preserve the history so it was something I brought up several times. Fast forward a few months. There's no sign of my service book. I wrote 4 emails to Saxton 4x4 and phoned them twice. Each time I was told someone would phone back in 24 hours. They never did. The vehicle then experienced an Adblue leak. I took it to a Porshe garage who told me that: a) This should have been easily spotted if it had been serviced before I'd bought the vehicle (as claimed by Saxton). b) There was no record of the vehicle having ever had a service in the Porshe network. So I was lied to about this car having a full service record. It does not. It also didn't have a satisfactory service (if one at all) when it was sold. Saxton 4x4 have since been unable to provide ANY documentation showing the vehicle has ever had a service - even in their garage when I bought it from them. In short: If you are looking for a car that's been cleaned and don't really care about it's road-worthiness or history then they do a great job. However, if you want a vehicle that has been serviced professionally, honesty about a service record and any form of post-sales customer service then you should absolutely avoid this company.

I am writing to express my utter frustration and dissatisfaction with the shocking service I have received regarding the vehicle I intended to purchase from your dealership. After placing a deposit on a car, I traveled to collect it, only to discover that the car was damaged. The vehicle was absolutely not in a condition suitable for collection, and I rightfully refused to accept it in such a state. Since then, 20 days have passed, and despite repeated attempts to resolve this, I have been left with no alternative vehicle or acceptable solution. Even more outrageously, my deposit still has not been returned, despite the clear fault lying with Saxton 4x4 for presenting a damaged car. I have now made four separate trips from London, wasting considerable time, effort, and money on fuel, only to be treated with an appalling lack of professionalism. During this ordeal, I have had the misfortune of dealing with your manager, Ali, who has shown a complete disregard for customer service. Not only did he fail to resolve the situation, but he also had the audacity to suggest that the damage to the car was somehow my fault, a claim which is both insulting and entirely untrue. As someone who has purchased five cars from various dealerships in the past, I can confidently say that I have never encountered such poor treatment and incompetence. This entire experience has been nothing short of a nightmare.

Struggling to give even a 1 star review. Very poor before, during and after purchasing a car. If it wasn't the car I wanted we would have gone elsewhere. Before: several calls from different people confirming when we were planning a visit, neither had the information we had previously given. Ok not too bad. However when turning up on the day only an hour early we left after 3 and half hours with only 20 mins interaction during that time. Have a look at the car, change the offer on my trade in several times and sign some papers. Agree to return a week later on the following Sunday to collect the car providing everything agreed. No call received to say finance accepted yet email received to sign paperwork. Had to make a call to check this was genuine. This paperwork was wrong. 3 phonecalls later received replacement paperwork. Every time I rang with a query the call ended with see you Friday and see you Saturday 'no we will be there on Sunday' Arrived Sunday. Signed paperwork, car signed over, there's your keys. Really? No let's look over, are you happy, any questions? Told you'll receive a call or email on Monday regarding the Service and MOT paperwork and will find out where the 2nd key is. I called about 8 times from Tuesday onwards as no calls were made to myself during the week each time saying to not call my husband as he works nights, call my number its my car. My husband had some missed calls, I've not had any. Still outstanding the details for the service, MOT and my spare key. I've given up ringing!!! Date of experience: 14 July

Purchased a defender RK70DYU £50500 with a defective passenger front headlight. On day of collecting Saxton 4x4 informed me they had swapped the light with another defender they had in stock!! After telling me an new one would be fitted? I refuse to complete the sale and end contact by phone from sales person Charley and called a Wanker for cocking!! Keep a lookout for the telephone conversation on YouTube??

Bought a Jaguar F Pace from Saxton 4x4 mid October faced major issues straight away, sent it for repairs for three weeks, got it back in the same condition. Saxton 4x4 is unresponsive to complaints. Discouraged potential buyers from considering them due to poor customer support and unresolved issues. An absolute nightmare!

Dodgy dealers: We bought a car from them in 2017, spending nearly £35,000. Today we went to sell the car and found out this car was stolen and recovered. Saxon bought it from salvage auction, they then repaired it and sold it to us with out informing us about it being stolen and recovered. Whoever bought a car from here please check your car details on this website: CheckCarDetail.co.uk to make sure Saxon has provided you with the correct details. I don’t know how Santander consumer finance is providing financial agreement to a company which sells stolen and recovered vehicles without disclosing this to the customers. Below is the evidence which shows that the car sold to me by Saxton 4x4 was stolen and recovered and also had undeclared damages - none of which was stated to me prior to the sale and only coming to light by another company, when I tried to re-sell the car a few days ago

This so called dealer has to be the very worst I have ever dealt with in over 45 years buying cars. I have been lied to by Brett Robberts , Mo Khan, and Dan Yeomans. I bought a Jeep sold to me with full service history, I have asked for my service book now for over a month, to be emailed very bad copies and then fobbed off every time, I then start looking into Saxton 4X4 to see that they have been found guilty in Essex court for miss selling cars in the past. if you want any good advise just google Saxton 4x4 reviews and you will see just how horrific they are,

AVOID AT ALL COST! AVOID AT ALL COST!! nothing but con artist... get you to sign up for all this warranty and extras and you cant claim on any of them as nothing is actually covered and all the small prints that the salesman should explain that never actually tells you about and there not worth the paper the warranty's are written on!! Had my Mercedes GLE less than six months and had nothing but problems since the day i picked it up. For a company that supposedly does all these checks before selling the cars, i was sold it with a bald illegal tyre it needed new breaks and pads as soon as i drove out the show room, then the car breaks down as has to have the oil changed and clean DPF as apparently it was my driving that caused it to block as the salesman should of told me that i needed to boot it every now and shouldn't do short trips in it all the time. So nearly £2000 later out of my own pocket all because they want there commission!!! I shall now be taking this action legal... if banks cant get away with miss selling packages why should Saxtons!! AVOID AVOID AVOID don't be suckered in by the fancy showroom!!

AVOID!! Can’t be trusted!! I wish listened to all these negative reviews. No were near the standards and customer service of a main dealer!! Spent £31,000 on a Merc GLE. Leant a harsh lesson that for high end cars you can only really trust Main Dealers that have the customer service you expect. My complaint with SAXTONS is 1.Given a spare key which was not for my vehicle. Alerted the sales person within 2 days of noticing. 2 yrs on and they now claim that it’s doesn’t state anywhere that I should have been given 2 keys! The point is i was conned in thinking there was a spare and bought the car under this false pretence. They have refused to replace the ‘dud’ spare key and they have wished me luck in making a complaint with the Motor Ombudsman!! I’ll update on how I get on!! 2. Break wear warning after only 23 days and only 200miles!! cost me £500 to change front brakes. So you should ask for break pad measurements!! Another harsh lesson learnt- this would never have happened with a main dealer!

Saxton have sold us 2 cars that should’ve not been on the rod. These cars were life threatening not only for our family but for those others on the road. The faults were ridiculously dangerous as with the Range Rover I had no breaks 3 times being on the motorway. The other car is Bentley Bentayga and had illegal tyres and breaks and the driver door was opening whilst driving.Saxton have disconnected all the break sensors.SW17WUB is the car number and everyone can see that in December 2021 failed the MOT and next day has passed.Saxton have done another MOT check a day before they sold the car to me and passed. All 4 tyres on the car are manufactured 2016-2017 and were illegal for driving and dangerous due to being overworn. But impressive how they passed the MOT at Saxton. I have used the Range Rover no more than 1 month in the 6 months of the contract so far.I have a tracker on it and can be checked. RAC engineer have advised that Range Rove is not drivable and recommended to be picked up by recovery .Saxon have done this and kept the car for over 3 weeks.1 Weekend after they gave it back I had the same brakes problem,250 miles away from home.RAC inspector came to help and when he connected the tester it shows him over 16 major faults. They picked up the car and kept it for over 1 month.I had the car back and a week later all suspension failed. The car is at my address for the last 6 weeks and Saxton did not take any decision of what to do with it. First I have contacted Mr A. Austin by email and I explained all the problems. He has’t replied back yet. After I contacted Mr M.Freeman and sent him all the evidence and he sent us all the reports after the car was repaired at their garage. He said that the car he sold us is very good. I want to go to court with this matters as it cannot stay like this.My life and my family’s and the road users were put in danger due to this cars.If anyone has the same problems please contact me at cristyaur@yahoo.co.uk so we can make a better case against them

****Warning for Range Rover Sports LG13 SYX **** I bought Range Rover Sports LG13 SYX car from Saxton 4x4 in April 2018. At the sales point Saxton 4x4 never mentioned and hide millage discrepancy of the car, which was only revealed when I went for a part exchange.. The car was sold to me with new MOT and service from SAXTON 4x4’s own garage with a millage of 62253 Miles. Prior sales in August 2017 the actual millage was recorded 96446 Miles MOT centre as well as to GOV.UK website (https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk/?_ga=2.148099390.801955175.1663951342-15108087.1662309007). Due to this mileage serious discrepancy, no one showed their interest to buy the car. I contacted SAXTON 4X4 and ignored and therefore had to resolve the matter legally. I don’t recommend buying any vehicle from SAXTON 4x4 as they are unreliable, fake, liar, unreasonable, unjust and pure scam.

30 minutes after arrival we were shown the car by Mustafa who seems inexperienced and asked us on three separate occasion if we are buying it through finance it seems he was more interested in selling the Bentley via finance 10 minutes of looking into the car another clever salesman bought a couple and literally pushed a couple into the backseat of the car while we were holding the keys looking around the car and preparing for test drive. A minute later we been told that the other couple had put the deposit down They literally taken the key back from us and didn’t give us the courtesy of a few minutes to see the car or to drive and to be able to say yes or no. Viewing was booked days ago basically they told us to get lost on the day. Saxton 4x4 policy is to grab the money and grab it quick, they are not particularly concerned with customer’s who have booked first to view, they don’t mind having low morality and low principles, but for someone selling high value cars they have no respect for customers. I wonder how the after service would look like if we had purchased the car, reviews are there for a reason, we complained to line manager Ahmed who ignored us and explained exact policy of the their owner, in a way it is grab the money and grab it quick, sell it regardless even if you upset few customers on the way And I am sure I am not the first one who experienced a kick in the teeth and won’t be last.
