Tried to give meter readings for a change of tenancy for which I am the landlord. The lady was so rude, talked over me, had no customer service skills whatsoever. She wanted information about the new tenants such as their DOB and mobile numbers, which in view of the recent data protection laws I wasn't willing to give her without their permission. When my partner stepped in and said "I never thought it would be so bloody difficult to give a meter reading" she hung up because he has used the word bloody. Would not recommend this supplier if they were the only supplier left on earth, would rather cook and heat on a wood burning stove.

Tried to get SP to resend opening electric meter reading to SSE. Through on-line chat and compliant emails, SP have not once done anything that tries to resolve the issue. They have simply pushed the issue into the long grass hoping that it will go away. They have even contridicted each other. Complete waste of time contacting them. Customer services desk tokk 6 hours to ring back and then put me on hold for 15 minutes - gave up and hung up. Regret the day I signed up with them. DO NOT USE.

Almost impossible to get through. Even calling when they open at 8.00am involves more than a 30 minute wait. The call back option can take more that 2 hours despite the estimate stated of 30 to 55 minutes. Then the call back involves waiting a further 20 minutes. Very frustrating because of the amount of times I have had to call due to errors Scottish Power have made on my account which are numerous. Conflicting advice given. It took me over a year to sort a problem when Scottish Power mixed up meter information and closed down my account instead of a neighbours. There are currently problems over smart meter installation. I've had enough and am about to change to Bulb.

This is quite literally the most stupid and incompetent energy supplier that has ever existed. I have been trying to get the dates of when I moved into my house and therefore my energy bill sorted for about 3+ months now. All they have to do is change the dates so I can pay my bill. I have called approximately 10 times, emailed at least 7 times sending attached images of my meter and my tenancy contract with my dates that I started my tenancy clearly in the document but I keep being fobbed off and even told that my tenancy agreement wasn't clear. HOW MUCH CLEARER DO I HAVE TO BE!!! I have spoken to so many people now and I think I deserve to have my bill rescinded at this point because of this companies clear incompetency to do something as simple as change the date of my bill. DO NOT USE THIS ENERGY COMPANY. Eon is miles better (and cheaper).

What a shambles We are new customers with dual fuel and have had the misfortune of ringing customer services at least 3 times ( not a good experience ). This is all to set up a direct debit which somehow seems very hard to do. Once again the money hasn't been taken from our account, we have never had any trouble setting up a direct debit ever before !. They don't really care and just read from a crib sheet. We will not renew at the end of our year.

Appalling company, getting a refund is like impossible been contacting them for the last 3 years yes 3 years for a refund and nothing so I decided to leave Scottish power and join someone else sense then it got better but still no refund 3 months after my next strep will be to contact the ombudsman and complain against them. If you're thinking of joining them please don't I will regreat it! if I could rate them zero I would but unfortunately Trust Pilot dont give you this Note to Scottish Power, I just want the money I'm owed, nothing more! I'm sure it would be very different if i owed your company money.

What went wrong you ask?! First time with Scottish Power felt their Homecare prices were good but when it came to getting an engineer out, impossible task! They cancelled me twice saying both times engineer had phoned in sick. As I work appointment's were difficult to fit round my day's off. My contract was coming to an end thank goodness and on cancelling with them asked why and then quickly terminated my contract, they couldn't give a damn. This is after seeing Scottish Power on National T.V. For neglecting a family over Christmas who had no heating or hot water I rest my case. Stay clear!

This business has the worst customer services I have EVER experience. I moved house and had to inform them three times that I had done so (all times in writing and followed up by phone)They continued to pursue me for a bill that was not mine to the extent of being there threatening. I eventually paid it to get them of my back and have requested the new owner to reimburse me. I work with old people and am extreme concerned the way the deal with people.

2 issues. **Smart meters. Kept being pestered about smart meter installation despite responding to questionnaire saying not interested. Then SP gave my phone details to a 3rd party marketing agency to carry on pestering about smart meters. Then more emails about smart meters followed by email apologies saying some emails had been sent in error. **Changing supplier. As contract coming to an end, this nuisance encouraged me to check alternatives, decided to move. Emails requiring final meter reading, fair enough. But shut out of the facility to submit online readings, "error 403 forbidden". The meter reading had been requested effective Christmas Day, got through to them by phone 27th December. Told I shouldn't have been sent the request for a final meter reading because that comes from the new supplier. What bothers me, the email demanding the final meter readings said if I did not submit them "you could end up paying more". Bottom line, there shouldn't have been a problem, I was perfectly happy until at the wrong end of their shambolic IT/email communications.

what went wrong? what went right? called to book in for my electric meter to be changed. got cancelled 3 times!! really started getting annoyed at this point. Called and got it re booked in for a time to suit me?! (between 8&12) had a phone call day before from engineer company to confirm my appointment between 12 &^6!? so had to book a whole day off work instead of half day. 5:30 still no phone call or sign of engineer. called Scottish power, apparently no sign of my appointment even being booked in!! as you can imagine i was raving by this point. all the lady on the other end of the phone kept doing was passing the blame, didn't seem to care really. but said i will be sent a £30 cheque- (this doesnt even cover the cost of me having to take the day off work!) i then called the engineer company back to confirm that they made the appointment. to be told that they get given the appointments made by scottish power! but was also told that the engineer tried to call to say he ran out of time!!!!!!! called today to be told no record of my appointment on 19th and no follow up has been done from the appointment made on 10th! it is now the 27th!! i get its december but this is still not acceptable! the guy i spoke to today sounded in the nicest was like a wet fish! next available appointment is for 28th Jan! wouldn't mind if i worked around the corner from where i live but i work 45 mins away so my only option is to take time off! this has also been sent to the company directly in case of deletion! SORT IT OUT!!

Surprised to see so many negative feedback accounts. Was withthe company a little over a year. Call waiting times could be improved but always dealt with enquiry first time and sent an engineer to my address free (I recieved a goodwill cheque to cover it!) as my electricity was coming in over £3500 annually- turns out boiler fault. Now on an affordable plan. Great resolve with complaints. Advice for other people using this company. Take peoples names when speaking to them. It makes them accountable.

Executive Support Team taking over a month to respond following email to CEO. Then advising my instant reply seeking further answers and clarification, using email the sent to me, had not been received. Then confirmed case closed. Despite more emails being sent internally nothing heard. Have now written to both CEO and CHAIRMAN seeking urgent response, but still no action. They either just don't care or are in deep trouble. Posting a 1 star is being extremely generous.

Following email to CEO on 5 November finally got a response from an Executive Team Support member on 4 December. Not happy with response and emailed back, as a reply on email sent to me, on 5 December. Despite other emails sent to them by other support staff, nothing heard until yesterday when I was informed that my email (on an instant reply basis!) had not been received and case had been 'closed'. Have requested urgent response from CEO and CHAIRMAN, and still no response. Do they just not care or is the business in deep trouble? Have posted 1 star but that is being generous.

Incompetent and no one cares. A manager was booked to ring me twice and did not, over a complaint that has been going on for over a month, I have contacted the CEO and I will be contacting ofwat and I will be leaving bad reviews every where.

18 months after leaving Scottish Power they say I owe money even after telling me twice verbally over the phone I dont owe anything. They even sent me an apology cheque of £100 to then start asking me again 6 months later that I need to pay. Their departments dont talk to each other, they dont even update your information like address changes so have been bombarding my old addresses with bills. I have had to request call data to prove my innocence as they say being told verbally that I dont owe anything by Scottish Power employees is meaningless??? They sent the links electronically but they only were accessible for 4 days which isn't helpful. I dont believe anything they say and have no faith that they update my records, I've probably made 30 calls to them in the 18 months and got nowhere, it's so BAD THAT I SOMETIMES QUESTION MY SANITY. Life lesson do not go anywhere near them EVER.
