If I could I would rate zero stars! Awful service. Was sold the sofa's from the Croydon store and advised delivery date of the 27th Sept ( the day previous when we looked at the sofa's , we had been told the 20th Sept). On the 24th Sept I received a call to state the sofa would be delivered the 03rd Oct, to which I responded was not good enough as I had been informed the 27th, hence selling my sofa's to make room for the new ones. I was then informed the 27th was a lead in date...great!!On the 28th Sep, I received a call from the Croydon store, advising he wanted to arrange delivery. Confused!! I explained that I had a delivery date of the 03rd Oct. To my surprised I was advised he had the 10th Oct...I was then extremely annoyed. I was then telephoned by the central store and informed I had 'refused' a delivery date of the 03rd Oct, No, I was annoyed at the date of the 03rd . Why would I refuse and then be offered a later date...lack of common sense here. The guy was useless on the phone. I may/may not get the sofa the 10th, lets see. Not impressed as I am paying £79 for a pathetic delivery service. Sofa was ordered 8th Sept, so I will have waited a month and 3 weeks of this with no sofa's to sit on at home....

Further to my review last week re the awful service by the manager at the Telford branch of SCS it has come to the day of delivery and we have had our other suite taken away , We get a phone call saying they would be there within the hour , We then get a call with what sounds like a pathetic excuse saying we will not get the suite now until the following day. So apart from the awful service in the shop we now have nothing to sit on at home ,,,, We as a family will never use SCS again and I will tell anybody who will listen to save themselves a whole load of misery to avoid them like the plague .

I bought a carpet for my stairs and landing from ScS as well as some LVT flooring for my through lounge. Salesman was fine. Trying to get the carpet fitter to turn up was a nightmare. Friday (arranged three weeks before) a phone call at 0930 to say he has to take someone (?) to hospital so he’s a ‘man down’. I say that’s fine (even though I’d lost a days leave) he said he’d be round Sat morning as he didn’t have any other jobs on. Saturday- no one arrived at the 0930 agreed time. I left it until 1030 then rang, ‘sorry mate we’ve now got 8 jobs in so we won’t be with you until later on’ They couldn’t care less. They then promised to be here 0930 Monday (another days leave). Guess what, no one turned up. I phoned at 10. ‘Sorry mate we’re fitting a door bar an hour away’. Eventually, they turned up at 1100 on Monday. Guess what, my stairs must be made of some magical substance that you can’t attach grippers to! So after swearing, going out for ‘magic screws’ more swearing outside my house walking up and down the road, it was fitted. Never, never ever again will I use these clowns. The LVT flooring- I gave up trying to arrange an ScS ‘specialist’ I got a local firm of professionals to fit it for half the price.

Hello everyone. Bought a couch. My wife was talked out of the one she wanted, it had inferior filling in the seats, better paying extra and getting better seats. So from £295 it went up to over£500. Waited ages and when it came the delivery guys were brilliant, nothing was a bother to them, thank you Willie-220 and Dougie-235. Fantastic service from them. Its a shame that the cushions are so flimsy, Not had it a week yet and its looking dated. The couch is poor quality, I do not reccomend anyone to buy from this company. My ref code is 113-4091253. I will have to go and have the cushions seen to and re-filled to a better quality. I feel cheated and conned. My old settee was better than this one.....you live and learn, so well done SCS, you taught me a lesson. Mr James Black.

went into the Leicester branch and wanted a grey carpet the one I chose was grey but the sales adviser said they had changed the name of it to kingfisher I was shown a photo on his tablet and it was grey I did not get a sample but trusted the adviser and placed the order but when it arrived and 2 rooms where fitted I went up stairs to vac the bedrooms before they laid the other bedrooms and OMG it was blue not grey so I stopped the fitters and rang the store but they will not help so I went to the head office and I a waiting for a phone call. The adviser has now admitted he did know the colour of the carpet but he isn't prepared to do anything

I bought a three piece sofa from scs 2 years ago. It cost £2500. Delivery was brilliant and sofa was amazing, so when I found that there was a problem with the legs on the sofa around 1 weeks later i contacted scs and they sent someone around 2 days later. The man fixed the legs because they had been put on the wrong way and everything seemed great. However about 4 months ago, when I was 8 months pregnant I sat in the sofa and the back leg caved in. I went into the store and they gave me a number to phone. Keep in mind that they advertise 10 year guarantee on the frame. I explained what happened and I was told I would have to pay £70 call out fee and then if the damage was my fault and not a manufacturing problem then I would have to pay to get it fixed. How this would have been my fault I would never know. As I have spent all my money on the sofa, I don't have any money for a call out. I have 3 children and a broken sofa that I cant afford to fix and cant even sell until its fixed. Thanks for your help scs! Ps my last sofa from dfs lasted me 15 years! I wouldn't be shopping here again!

we have recently purchased a new suite from your Telford store and whereas I will praise the young lady Gemma who sold us the suite , I will also say what an arrogant ignorant rude man your manager Tony is his attitude is nothing short of disgusting. He has been rude to my wife on 2 occasions now and I believe that when spending any amount of money in any shop warrants a little respect from the vendor ,But this guy seems to think he is above that. Suffice to say that following the purchase and delivery of the suite we did intend to buy our new bedroom requirements from SCS and that decision is purely based on the attitude of the so called store manager.

Scs Telford. Paid in full for a corner, 1st mistake, advise you hold on to your money or better still shop elsewhere. Rude arrogant manager who is hopeless at his job, no follow up calls and on to a delivery date that is at least 14 weeks wait not the 9week wait sold to us. Avoid, we won’t be using them again

As a 25 year old homeowner I understand people don't believe me when I say I want to buy a sofa, money waiting. However, to be questioned whether I still believe in the Easter bunny and santa clause, patronised and told that all Norfolk women are physcopaths, I was most appauled. My business will be taken elsewhere! Disgusting attitude towards a customer.

The warranty is not what it seems! I was devastated to find that that the beautiful love chair I purchased from SCS had begun to come apart, staples are sticking out of the left hand central line where the chair arm and body meet on the exterior, as it was evening I was determined to contact SCS as soon as physically possible. The next day I made a phone call to ‘Furniture After Care’ department, praying that my 2-year warranty had not expired. After speaking to the lady advising she said it expired in 6 days time… perfect. As I went to book in the work to be done, she told me there would be a £75 call out charge…?! How is this possible with having 2-year warranty on the sofa? That price is extortionate, I may as well pay someone to repair it. What is the point in having a 2-year warranty if they are going to charge me anyway? The reason for warranty is so a customer is satisfied that they will be covered for faults with the sofa, to give themselves security and peace of mind that they are making an honest and worthwhile purchase. I was then advised in the contract, which may I add is not discussed in store there is a clause “11.4. You will have to pay a call out charge of £75 including VAT if you wish to make a warranty claim at any time on or after 12 months from and including the date of delivery of the products” A bit extreme but to get my point across I offered to bring the chair into store, as it is a 'call out fee' surely there would be no charge? therefore not requiring a 'call out fee' and to be fair the cost of getting the chair to the store is would be less than the actual call out fee. In response SCS informed 'the £75 is a charge for someone to come and assess the furniture. Any damage that is then found to be of a manufacturing fault we would then repair it at no further cost to yourself' So actually you are paying someone to look at the product to potentially not even do the work on it, I would like to clarify that this is not a tear this is staples falling out of my chair, this is a defect and if I had a child that would be a dangerous circumstance but I do however have a dog so therefore did not want to incur vet bills should the dog cut himself or even eat the staples, and the fact that I am under warranty of which was sold to me at 2 years. I can confirm to all future customers it is in fact a 1 year warranty with a further 1 year of paying a charge for someone to 'assess' and maybe not fix the product. I can assure you I was not satisfied and I certainly don’t feel like I have been given the level of customer service expected from such a large company like SCS. I just wanted to inform anyone who is potentially going to purchase from SCS so they do not have to experience the same issues I have experienced. No conclusion was found.

My husband and l have been looking for a sofa and chair for ages,we have been all over Lincolnshire you wouldn’t believe how many sofas and chairs our bottoms have sat on and still we haven’t been lucky. The last store we went to was near Grantham with still no purchase and the young man asked us if we had tried SCS we both said no so went outside and googled the nearest store it was Lincoln . Our purchase Was made looking forward to the delivery can’t wait Thank you all especially Brian a lovely friendly shop with lovely staff they all are a credit to your firm

SCS CHELTENHAM BRANCH. Do NOT buy a carpet from this company. WHY: 1. Carpet fitters are outsourced. This is you first challenge. 2. The carpet may ( will ) - not fit as the salesperson measured your room and he is not an experienced fitter. 3. Low grade underlay/ Your carpet looks very cheap. 4. The customer service is designed to hang on to you money no matter what you say and do. 5. SCS take your money - NO SERVICE. Please be careful. Chris

Terrible shame can’t review with minus star (s). An absolute nightmare, stressful experience which I would never ever repeat even if furniture was free. Corner unit and swivel chair ordered and paid in full. Long delay before just the chair was delivered - but wrong chair. Chair re-ordered, again long wait for delivery and collection of correct chair. (Corner unit still not available). Chair delivered - chair is swivel chair with eight seams - not one patterned seam matched - clearly made from off-cuts. Eventually after numerous calls, emails, photos, SCS agreed to exchange for new one. Long wait (still no corner unit). Corner unit booked in for delivery- didn’t turn up. Re-booked, due in morning but arrived early evening. Long delay with 3RD CHAIR - arrives eventually but exactly the same as the previous badly upholstered chair. Endless phone calls, emails and more photos. SCS NEVER RETURN CALLS/CORRESPONDENCE. Finally, they confirm this chair has been discontinued and anyway they couldn’t make one with the pattern matching. 33 phone calls, numerous emails and 8months later decided enough was enough. Accepted £60 compensation. The worst shopping experience ever
