The worst furniture company in England. The furniture is uncomfortable, the constraction of their furniture is not a good value for money. They deliver a different assembled from wGatwick you saw and sat on in the store. They are unreliable and very deceptive.

Avoid at all costs. We had a faulty dining room table delivered after a 16 week wait. The table is faulty and unsafe. Contacted after and informed to send a video of the faulty table which I did. Contacted them 2 hours later to check it was received. Informed they had received it and it was forwarded to the manafacturer who would decide if it was faulty and I should hear something in 3 working days. Contacted them after 3 days and informed they never received the video. I have now sent this video 3 times and received the same excuses. They are totally incompetent.

After having complained 9 weeks ago to their so called AFTER CARE team, I am appalled at their lack of customer service. It seems that once they have got your money, they do not a toss if you incur a problem. My item IS still within the warranty period, and still not resolved. I urge everyone to email them. That way you will have a copy of the time, date etc which they will try to dismiss if you contact by phone. I had to give 1 star. If there was an option to give a minus rating, I certainly would have chosen it, BE AWARE - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

Sale service was fine and I was delighted when they told me they could fit it before Christmas. Fitter arrived today with no grippers saying they hadn't been paid for. I have the quote including grippers and the price I paid but head office are still saying I haven't. I contacted there helpline and was told I would be phone back, then only seconds later they phoned the fitter and I have had no call back. It not in the order but its on the quote I paid so their order is wrong. So it will be a nice visit to scs on boxing day to demand my money back for the grippers they didn't suppl but I paid for. Can believe they don't have the decency to phone me back.

Whilst their sales were first class their after care has been nothing short of appalling and I would not recommend anybody to use SCS. They go out of their way to get you to buy but thereafter, once business has been secured you’re simply treated as a number. We ordered our sofa and carpets from SCS in Aberdeen mid-September for our new build. We were assured fitting before Christmas, even when we informed them that their fitters wouldn’t gain access until the end of October, early November. Their carpet fitter gained access 3 weeks before we got our keys to measure but at this time we were told our original choice of carpet for the living room would be too short. So back to SCS we went to choose another similar carpet, which was of course more expensive. Our figures now agreed (including the payment for the carpet fitters to be made on the day) we were informed fitting would be unlikely before Christmas. We complained that this was unacceptable and after much stressing it was agreed that upstairs would be laid the day after we received our keys and that the rest (except the kitchen flooring which was supplied by another company on their behalf) would be completed on the Monday (2 days later). The fitter only managed the living room floor that Monday due to another appointment and he returned to complete the stairs and hallway on the Wednesday. The carpet we chose for the hallway/stairs was NOT what was laid. This came to light when the fitter was half finished. Sadly they hadn’t checked and we hadn’t been available to advise. The carpet referenced on the paperwork did not match the labelling on the carpet supplied. SCS have admitted this was an error from their supplier and have offered to replaced the carpet at their expense. We have had to fight them for fitting before Christmas and they arranged for the fitting to take place first thing on the 21st Dec. 8am came, 9am went, 10am without sight of the fitter so I called the shop and was met with a recorded message saying they were closed for the festive period. Fortunately I had the carpet fitters number from his previous visit so contacted him directly and he informed me that another job was first on his list that he collected this morning despite numerous assurances from the Carpets Manager that we would be first as the job was a simple lift and replace. The fitter arrived 4 hours later than expected, with only two of the three required door bars that were missed from the previous visits. We were quoted 9 bars required, we only require 8 but only have 7 until a time when SCS can return to complete the work. In short 4 days before xmas and our main room still looks unfinished almost one month in. Additionally we had issues with the tiles we chose from SCS (albeit they shunt the blame onto a third party supplier) for our kitchen. We contacted SCS about their delivery on the Monday before we received our keys to ensure they would be delivered for the joiner to lay on the Saturday. Eventually on Tuesday after a couple more calls and speaking to the Acting Manager we were informed the tiles we had chosen in September had been discontinued and that we would have to come in and choose new tiles. 3 days before we were supposed to move in, but the new samples from their supplier had yet to be received. So back we went again on the Thursday night, the day before we got our keys to choose our new kitchen tiles. These were ordered the following day but only arrived with us 11 days after we ordered and were finally fitted this past weekend, three weeks after we got the keys. As a token gesture we were refunded the £50 delivery fee, yippie. Considering the amount of money we are giving them this felt like a slap in the face. Furthermore, there was a lack of transparency regarding the costs for carpet fitting. Whilst we were informed that it would be free, the figure is deducted from the overall cost yet we still need to pay the fitters. Whilst a weird set up we got our heads around it and agreed the figure ahead of time so we knew how much we would require for the fitters. Imagine our surprise when the fitters arrived and quoted TWO figures, which amounted to almost double what we had originally been told. Another call to SCS who were adamant they had informed us of a revised figure once we chose the second carpet. This was certainly not the case and why would it change for simply a different carpet in the same sized room? Overall the whole experience has been terrible. SCS incentives were great to lure us in (discounted sofas, 20% off carpets, “free” fitting) but the hassle thereafter and the multiple visits (across town, during rush hour with a sleeping child to speed up orders) coupled with having to change our original choices to suit their stock was incredibly frustrating and disappointing. Moving house is particularly stressful, even more so so close to Christmas and SCS have gone out of their way to make it even more stressful. We have friends and family moving home recently and in the near future who have asked our recommendations and we have been blunt in our assessment of how pathetic SCS have been and they will not be coming to you as a result.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS Cannot believe these reviews of this company are good on here, they are either getting people to write fake reviews or doing them themselves. There’s no way I would recommend this diabolical company to anyone I’m Absolutely disgusted with this whole company, from the moment I walked into the Colchester store a year ago rite up to today. I paid £2000 for carpet that had to be lacies TWICE because of poor workmanship, the state it was left in afterwards was terrible, I tried to complain for two months and had no reply whatsoever. Was always told that I would get a call back and never did. The price I was originally quoted was actually £500 cheaper than it eventually came to. After just a year of it being laid I’ve had to have a supervised come out to inspect it because it’s fraying at the edges and the whole carpet is coming up every time I hoover! I was told I would get an answer in seven days, that was nearly a month ago, when I called head office today they told me no records had been made at all. I’m beyond angry upset and just completely gutted I gave my hard earned money to these cowboys!

Ordered a sofa back in October. SCS promised to deliver it before Xmas. The only slot they offered was 20th Dec whilst I was at work. Not alternative date or time offered. So I have no sofa to sit on over Xmas, as I got rid of my old one in preparation for the new one arriving. Christmas is ruined. They won’t give me a refund either. Manager (Brian) was rude and unapologetic on the phone! Offered me £80 to collect the sofa myself!!!! Not enough to cover the van hire or man power to lift it! Completely unacceptable! Don't buy from this company! Appalled!

I am having quite a bit of trouble communicating with the Darlington store. We were not made aware we could use our own carpet fitter and as such went with the agency fitter, however they can’t fit the carpet until mid Jan. On learning that I could use my own fitter I have asked on multiple occasions if they could investigate earlier delivery so we can live in a carpeted house but they have told me the distribution centre is now closed for Christmas. I struggle to believe a distribution centre has closed on the 18th of Dec for 2 weeks?! The man was just too lazy to look or they have a financial interest in using their own agency fitters. Awful awful customer service, no-one answers a question directly. A company that needs a massive review of its workings. Avoid at all costs.

For the fourth time in 2 weeks, we’ve been let down. Carpets half laid and tenants moving in on Friday. Pathetic excuses, stories don’t add up, fitters not arriving, carpets not arriving. House now has carpet in rolls across the hallway but 2/3 bedrooms not done and stairs not done either. No help whatsoever when you ring - just more lies it seems. I agree they get your money and then don’t give a damn. Never ever again will I buy from them. The stress has actually made me ill. Westwood Cross Scs are ridiculous. I too wish I’d seen these reviews before I brought from them.

wow wished I had read these reviews before buying from SCS! can't agree more. I paid for a new carpet to be fitted into our 34m2 small lounge. first fitter never came as he didn't bother to turn up to work. Sales team were very helpful and i accepted that I would have to wait a further 2 weeks for a new fitter to fit our carpets. At least I thought it would be before christmas and that they had agreed to move the furniture seen as though i had already moved all the furniture out once! Today the second arranged fitting date.... the fitter arrived, saw the furniture in and said he wasn't moving furniture! (sales team failed to tell the fitter of their arrangement with me) so here I am again with no carpets fitted! its the 18th December! I have never heard so many excuses and the buck been passed from 1 department to the other. Even having to hear that they haven't answered the phone because he was busy having his dinner! Really! Don't order carpets From SCS! i am sure there are plenty other companies who take customer service seriously!

Promised delivery of a shock item before Christmas. Mentioned to store that access is tight as on road parking said wouldn't be an issue. Delivery slots are all day so had to get current sofas removed the day before, waited in till lunch time to be told that the delivery was failed due to access to our road as a vechile was blocking road. I was in the street on the call, no issue was there. Have been waiting over 2 days for a call back to arrange recovery wish we have been told may not be before Saturday (road will be as busy) which will mean we will have no sofas for Christmas with guests here. We have 2 small children (one unwell) and ourselves all sitting on the floor. Store manager says it's not his responsibility to get the sofas to our house and they have no responsibility to make sure they can get the sofas to us, they only ask about door access, everything else is distributions issue.. we never get to speak to this department and have been promised a call from them for 3 days which no contact. Customer service line takes you around circles, if you haven't had delivery you can only talk to store which hasn't helped and asking to speak to head office means giving a access code and password. Finally got through to sales director voicemail left contact details and phone number. Store never answers calls so have to spend 15 minutes calling before anyone answers. No one takes responsibility, store not trained to deal with complaints as no process of logging and updating account complaints. Staff don't want to talk to you after they have money.

Sales service is very good, but bad after sales service. Firstly they never answer the phone. I have tried phoning several times for them to send us a sofa cleaning kit which was supposed to be delivered with my sofa order and they always say they will phone back to give us a delivery date, which they haven’t. I had to go personally in store because I couldn’t get through by phone. I have been waiting since September and it’s now almost Christmas time.

Rubbish customer service. I bought some furniture and was told it would be here for Xmas then told January then told before Christmas. Can’t get in touch with the service team they either don’t answer or put me through to the shop. Who just say sorry we can’t do anything about it. It’s says on my paperwork 6 week. Won’t ever go back rubbish liars

The worst company EVER, they delivered my sofa this morning at 7.30, it would not fit through the door so they just left me alone with it outside. The delivery men were swearing and arguing. I begged them to help me to take the arms off to get it indoors, they refused and drove off. I phoned the company and they were not interested at all, the customer service was appalling. The want to charge me £190 to come back on Friday to take the arms off and take it into the house.
