“Specsavers home visits have been wonderful through out.i cannot fault them as my glasses were ready within 10days.delivered and fitted.only slight concern was only rung 30mins before delivery needs to be 24hrs before delivery.”
“I am a long term customer, and have always been happy with Specsavers.
However I found myself in Norwich for the weekend with no contact lenses, I called the local branch, and then got a cab to it (Whitehorse Road), I had 5 pairs of lenses free of charge in minutes! First class customer service.”
“It seems to be a well organised marketing ploy by specssvers to lure you in with a “Free Eye Test” and then offer you 2 for the price of 1 spectacles - then your processed with no mention of overall cost - then your brought to a counter in the middle of the floor to be given the news on what you are expected to pay. You then have a waiting public audience looking at you. Most people put on a brave face and pay with a smile when they really are shocked inside. There then is a sudden switch from your debit card to pay with the credit card. All begins with “Free Eye Test” ends with you paying hundreds of Euro or Pounds.... Am I the only person that thinks this?”
“I called into Westway Cross Greenford. I was early, no problem was seen . I have an anxiety problem both staff members who looked after me were amazing kind and discreet. No hard sell Thank you”
“The offer of 25% off for over 60’s is very deceiving! The 2 for one offer us available to EVERYONE!!!
I do not think the offer is fair and will not come back.”
“Recycling your frames Sir? Oh no! Buy another 2 pairs of the same frame. It's cheaper!
Booked the appointment online which was very easy to do. On arrival had to fill out a survey that seemed geared to push for frame sales in it's questioning. Very professional eye test and given full explanation of the health of my eyes and what was needed. Staff very helpful. After my eye test I needed new lenses. Wanted one of my current pair of glasses to have just the lenses changed as I saw no point in replacing the frame. The frame is a current stock item. was told for lenses only it would cost me £398. Then I was told due to the 2 for 1 offer if I purchased 2 pairs of frames of exactly what I already have, would come out at £222. In this day and age of recycling why oh why are they trying to push out more frames when I already have frames that were fit for purpose and would then become obsolete for use? Even the staff member said it doesn't make economic sense! Politely told the staff member I will not be purchasing any lenses and not use Specsavers again. Thanked them all and left. Clearly Specsavers do not care about recycling or the needs of their customers and are mainly interested in selling their frames. They need to look at the cost structure of lenses only when the customer has a perfectly usable frame already, especially if it is already a current stocked item.”
“The two for one offer is a bit of a con as you can only get short or long sighted glasses not both when I asked about this they were not helpful and said that I would probably need two pairs of reading glasses ,sadly I can only use one pair at a time
Obviously the ROCHDALE branch does not need the custom do back to vision express or boots I go”
“I arrived early. Was immediately taken up to reception where I waited in a clean and well presented waiting room. I was offered a drink whilstbi waited which was, incidentally no more than 3 or minutes. Was then shown in for the first part of my eye examination. The assistant was friendly and fully informative of the procedure shecwas about to carry out. I was then directed into another room whereby my eye exam took place. The specialist was patient whilst I decided which lenses I could or couldn't see out of. I didn't feel rushed at all. She even spoke to me about laser surgery and was helpful in answering my questions about it.
I felt valued when I attended spec savers (which isn't always the case when attending appointments). A thoroughly pleasing appointment.
No nonsense or waiting around. Pleasantly surprised. Well done spec savers.”
“Popped into my local branch in Sale,to hopefully see if my glasses were repairable after the arm came off!! Was ushered in and dealt with immediately by the wonderful Holly, who repaired them flawlessly with her wonderful bright and breezy charm! An absolute credit to Sale branch, exceptional roll model all!
A* service Holly 10/10 🙌🏼😍”
“Specsavers Hillsborough, Sheffield to be avoided. New varifocals received on trying on I advised assistant that it was not possible to read small print, but distance fine. After holding a conversation shouting across the shop with a colleague, in front of other customers, it was my fault as I had had an eye operation. That was why I was getting the new glasses. Besides as she pointed out I did not need to read small print. When I said I did, she was not interested, did not bother adjusting the frame to fit properly and got me out as quick as possible. I now use these new glasses for distance and have to use my old ones for reading. They just want your money and that is it.
The frames are very good design and friends comment on them, but I do tell them not to go to Specsavers.”
“"Liverpool Norris Green branch. Previously I've always been happy with Specsavers. However, my new glasses (less than two months old) are faulty - one leg is damaged. These are the varifocals I use for VDU use at work (so not cheap). I've been told that my local branch of Specsavers cannot order in a replacement pair of frames specifically, and that I will just have to take pot luck and wait for 2 to 3 weeks until a delivery happens to have the correct pair of frames in. This strikes me as totally unacceptable; I spend up to 7 hours a day at work using a VDU and need the correct glasses.Staff rude and seemed untrained. No sense of humour, in fact damn rude. To me they need kessons in courtesy.”
“Fantastic treatment during my visit to the Hillsborough Branch, nice friendly staff and no waiting around.
I was due a new eye test and knew I needed a stronger prescription and kept forgetting to make an appointment. When I broke my glasses I booked in for both test and new glasses. I was expecting to wait a week for my glasses but as I had broken them asked if they could do them any quicker. They rushed them through so that I could pick them up the next day, where I was treated with the same great service.”
“I had my yearly contact lenses check today. Fabulous service in the Wisbech branch. Andy the optician so friendly answered all my questions. I also needed new glasses Kerry the assistant helped me choose a pair, even though I tried on loads she was very patient. Then we sorted out the lenses and paid. All in all a very pleasant experience.”
“Staff in shop were lovely, unfortunately the optician was not. This isnt what i expected and if anything, it is usually other way around.Optician wasn't helpful and didnt answer my questions, i left the store feeling as though i had bothered someone and couldn't wait to get out.I didnt have any money on me so i will have to return to collect/order glasses.Hope i don't see the optician again”
“I have never known a more professional service! Simon, at the Nuneaton branch went out of his way to help me, i can't believe how easily he dealt with my problem, don't think i will ever use another opticians”
“Preston branch eye test incorrect hence lenses incorrect. Second eye test no better they dont seem to have heard of astigmatism Told me they couldn't try three times so that confirms there just profit orientated.Left glasses on counter-"unfit for purpose". Avoid Specsavers”
“Caught out lying.
Bought some specs, as you do, at the Sleaford branch in Lincolnshire.
After a few days the right-hand lens popped out and the lens fell out hitting a concrete floor and cracking a little bit off the lens so, after a while, took them back.
Lady in there 'fixed' the problem by using a self tapping screw but couldn't snip the top of the screw off which looked horrible and, as these were mid range glasses, and only a few months old I said I wasn't happy so she said she would change the frame.
She made a big show of looking through a cabinet and, after a few moments of studied searching smiled hugely and lifted up a new frame.
I went back later to collect and took them home after thanking her for the excellent service.
However, later that evening I picked the glasses up to use them and the other side popped out so, out came my magnifying glass and... You guessed it, the self tapper was intact on the right hand side and the hinge on the left had simply failed, pinged open and, it was only because I was at home with a decent carpet that this lens didn't chip as well.
Absolutely shameful, I shall be back there tomorrow, hope they won't lie to me again.”
