Disappointing. I was advised I needed a contact lens check by letter (which didn't mention a cost). Got an appointment quickly which was good (no cost mentioned). Once the test was underway, the optometrist asked if I had been told it was £25 for the test. I replied no (though expected a fee). She advised she could waive this fee if I signed up to a monthly subscription for contacts (I pay as I go normally). I felt trapped as I either had to pay a fee and buy my lenses or sign up. Obviously, it made more sense to sign up ( though I only wear contacts occasionally, so I took the lowest package). The assistant who completed the direct debit paperwork advised that I now needed to pay three months in advance. I asked if that meant I didn't pay anymore for three months, and was advised I did, so I was always paying two months in advance. I was told that the first 10 pairs would be sent to the branch for me to collect, and the further lenses would be posted directly to me. I realised on reflection that I was not asked what date I wanted the direct debit to come out of my account. I received a text a couple of days later to say my contact lenses were ready and picked them up. When I got home and opened them, I realised that had been given 30 pairs. Not what I was told. The whole experience I felt was misleading and I signed up because I felt trapped. I am now paying more than before for my contacts.

This is a review about audiology. I was unable to pick up wax protetcers from the Swansea store because they do not stop them. I was promised they would be in the post 3 times and then when they were not told to phone Cardiff where I was told the request would be attended to. It was not. A phone call to HQ promised attention which was a delivery from Cardiff, a call from a "Graham" promising the same (it wasn't) and a message from Swansea saying call for an appointment. What an absolute mess these people are. I paid £1450 for my aids including service which does not exist. I have recently had surgery and do not have the energy to waste on you. The audiologist at Swansea needs a good shake. I shall cut my losses and now go to a different audiologist. NB No follow up from HQ so they are just as bad.

The service is absolutely 100% total rubbish, its starts off before you part with your cash like a professional operation, and then goes south from then on,my sorry tale is has follows,I went to have my eyes tested has I was invited to do from them via a letter,I suffer from migraines and headaches following a full stroke which I had previously had,I had a test and was told that the glasses I had were to strong prescription so new lenses were required the lenses are bifocals,I also had sun glasses made.I collected the glasses and noticed I was having problems the reading part of the lens were such that I had to hold my phone, reading material in the precise distance to be able to read or see correctly this was very uncomfortable the same with the sunglasses which also the wrong tint,I went back to specsavers in Merchant street Bristol.where I was told to take a seat in the shop not in the test room,a very broken pair of test frames were balanced on my face and after dropping one different lens and a lot of trial and fumbling around was put in the test glasses I was asked if this was better it was but is one lens a proper test ,however it’s gets worse I was told I had to leave the glasses for two weeks leaving me with out my spectacles. I can’t use my phone, read etc .after this they will sort the sun glasses out and another two weeks.I want my glasses sorted out including my sun glasses ASAP .if not I want my money back and will take my business to a professional options.unfortanly it’s not the service it used to be. I have contacted the complaint department and I still await the phone call.my advice is avoid ,avoid, avoid

London Tottenham Court Road My first appointment was on 17 July for an eye test, the gentleman who checked my eyes saw me for 7-10mins, returned to collect my new glasses to find that they were not what I ordered in both frames and lenses. The information had been changed on the form from reactorlight to sunglasses! DOH. The dispensing manager Katie was extremely helpful and supportive and arranged to have them sent back and that I would have the right pair within a week. I went to collect them a week later, the frames right this time. After about 2-3days of trying my new glasses at home there was something else wrong. I went back again, chatted to Katie, she checked the lenses and according to the paperwork the lenses were correct! I booked another appointment to have my eyes checked again. Appointment was on 25 July with a gentleman called James. He was baffled as to what the problem might be. I have had optic neuritis in my right eye in the past and because of this he sent me to Moorfields A+E Dept to be checked. Waited 3 hours to be seen and was sent home with eye drops for dry eye, no sign of optic neuritis! So, went back to Specsavers for another eye check on 7 August. This time I saw a lovely lady called Sita. She spotted the problem more or less straightaway. The original form from 17 July had the wrong lens strength typed in, 10 instead of 100!!! After all the backwards and forwards, trip to Moorfields it took someone with the intelligence and patience to spot the problem by reading the inputted information correctly. I would like to say a BIG thank you to Katie and Sita at Specsavers Tottenham Court Road for their patience, diligence and care and attention for dealing with my problem in a professional way. If any management read this you must value and support these two people as they are a huge asset to your company. You should always listen to staff on the shop floor as they are at the front and centre of customer service and need to be recognised for the very good job that they do. Anyone else reading this I can highly recommend Katie and Sita at the Tottenham Court Road Store.

Upstairs at Specsavers in Bolton town centre has the worst customer service personnel. Those downstairs are fine, especially Mohammed. Two ladies pride themselves in being aggressive towards customers as well as shouting at them. Sadly, they do not like it when you ask to speak to a Manager to complain about their appalling behaviour. One of them is supposed to have worked there for thirteen years yet, is happy to put down the phone on a customer that has just spent £200 in the store after shouting at the one for merely asking to speak to a manager to complain about the one's dis-satisfaction regarding a product. What a disgrace - an absolute disgrace!! Such staff MUST be sent on customer service training because they don't seem to know that it is the customer that pays their wages.

Really happy with my recent visit to the Clapham junction branch of SpecSavers. Waiting time was minimal and the whole process was efficiently organised. The staff were all very friendly and I felt very well looked after. Special mention to Natasha for making choosing frames so much fun!

Absolutely hopeless got to wait ages even for a reply from their head office. Should be reported to trading standards for insufficient information and I'm bring kind! Got much better service at boots and everything was explained in detail hard sell at soecsavers they should look through their own blinkered glasses!

Where do I start? Absolute rubbish throughout. My eye test was so rushed I was never asked to confirm that I was comfortable with the final prescription the optician chose for me, and now I’m afraid to buy new glasses. Don’t know what I’m going to get. The optician seemed desperate to scare the life out of me listing anything on earth that was wrong with my eyes, and then sold me some useless products. During contact lenses test I told the optician I had blurred vision, he didn’t care, still sent me home with the test lenses, which are different specs from what I had been using successfully for 10 years, so the test lenses of course turned out to be completely unsuitable for me. What a waste of my time! Everything at Specsavers seems to be aimed at quantity and sales, not quality. Next time I'm going to a proper doctor. I’ll pay more, but will get reliable and trustworthy results.

Blackburn specsavers. Went back to get correct glasses. Was told to come back wednesday. I advised I finished work at 5 and they said fine we are open till 5.30pm so plenty of time. Got to the shop only to find it closed at 4.30pm so I paid for parking for nothing. Thanks specsavers for the wasted journey and expense. What a joke!!!!

Visited Specsavers in Bexhill-on-Sea for an appointment with Optician at 11:30. By 12:15 still hadn't seen the Optician despite other customers who had just walked in being seen. Walked out after complaining to manager who seemed bewildered that I found this unacceptable.

Went to the Oxford branch. Optician was clearly in a rush and very grumpy. Despite being told there were plenty of appointments, I had to wait half an hour despite arriving early. Then pressured to buy the most expensive glasses.

Excellent young optician but total lack of empathy and training in dealing with custmers with dementia even though my mother is a regular customer and known to them in the Milton Keynes branch. The audiology department is excellent. Fortunately I accompanied my Mother and could modify the language used by the optician to express things in a form of language she could understand. A truly stressful experience.

I have been with Specsavers for quite a few years and pay a monthly DD for contact lenses. Because of problems with my eyes I can only wear them for 5 days and not 7 days. They send out 12 weeks lenses every 3 calendar months. After doing calculations I am short of 21 days (3 weeks) of lenses per year. Asked the question and was told I can purchase extra lenses for an extra amount of £ per month so I then have a stock, surely they should be able to send out every 12 weeks and then I wouldn't run out.

Have been a customer of Specsavers for 4 years and generally been happy with their service. But was disappointed with the service today. I called into the local branch to get some help as a screw had come off the side of my glasses and all it needed was a new screw to be put back in. Was refused any help as the frame itself had not come from Specsavers and when I asked where I could go to have it fixed was told "I dunno".

Everyone at Brixton Supersavers was lovely today: the person who greeted me, the two opticians I saw, and Yasmeen the dispenser. They were all run off their feet but kept cheery, customers focussed and efficient. Brixton Supersavers is greta which is why I keep coming back. thank you everyone for doing such a great job in sweltering weather!
