“Won,t honour warranty, lense fell out when they were around my neck when I was walking my dog.
They say it,s not a manufacturing fault as they could have got damaged being on the chord around my neck. The manager told me they should be either on my face or in the case.
When I asked why they sold me the chord the manager said well the other shops do Honestly!”
“SOS visit to Carlisle branch after my friend had fallen and broken her specs. Lens intact but frame broken so asked if they could do some kind if emergency repair so we could drive home. Young male assistant turned over the broken frame and declared "Sorry not our frame I can't help you". My friends face was bleeding & I said "Any chance of a temporary repair so we can get home?" He then repeated his actions and words as if we were unable to understand. I was shocked and disapointed by his attitude as Specsaver at Workington are always wonderful. Left the store and visited Boots optician who did a temporary fix to get us home. Will remember this lack of service in the future.”
“Specsavers Bedminster Awful service. Stood waiting for someone to serve me for over 10 minutes, 3 people sat at their tables not busy, all ignored me, until I asked for help. When I asked about the cost, the assistant couldn't work it out, and it took 3 attempts to get this right. Waited a week to get my glasses. Picked them up, they had been fitted with the wrong lenses. I was asked to leave the glasses and they would be ready to pick up 3 days later. I phoned before heading down to pick them up, and no one could find the glasses or advise where they were. This is now 1.5 weeks and I still have no glasses. The staff need training on what good customer service looks like. Either your hiring process isn't robust enough or your training or perhaps a combination of the two- but customer experience was beyond dreadful”
“I recently had a terrible experience at the London-Dalston branch. The optician provided me with a wrong prescription and charged me for a test that was supposed to be free.
When I went in for my appointment, I was informed that some of their equipment was broken and that they will need to do the test manually. Despite this, they went ahead and prescribed me new glasses, expensive varifocals was their advice. As a result, my prescription was incorrect after comparing it with the one done at another optician days later, where they told me I didn't need varifocals yet.
To add insult to injury, I was charged for a test that was supposed to be free as I have diabetes. When I questioned the charge, the optician claimed that it was strange that it happened after I reported this before the test and offer me to do a new test, but also asking if I would be interested in any of their frames...
Overall, I would not recommend this optician to anyone. Their inability to provide accurate prescriptions and their willingness to charge for services that should be free is unacceptable. Save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else for your eye care needs.”
“Bridge giving one star, but had to. Waited 4 weeks for specs, no sign so I called. Told me specs couldn't b ordered as they had to be paid for first. Why didn't they say at the time of ordering them. Waste of bloody time and space. Never see a haepenny of my money.”
“On going back to specsavers again negative assistant after asking for help to choose some glasses couldent have been less interested in helping me am sight impaired &all she kept doing was dissapearing to help someone else waste of time”
“Shouldn't have gone to specsavers.
Continuous problems with my specs. Numerous visits but problems not resolved. Spoke to manager who stated that they don't keep records of visits and the best she could do is inform me to pay £160 for titanium glasses. I have never met anyone so negative when it comes to addressing the public. I got these glasses in February 23 through my entitlement on the nhs. I payed extra to make them bifocal.
My opinion is that Specsavers is like a supermarket conveyer belt.
Next customer, next customer, etc.
After being in high management I can say with experience that this manager thinks she's the owner of your franchise and customers are at the bottom of the list.
This is my honest opinion of the Inverness branch that I visited.”
“Went to the yardley branch, eye test went amazing and had an great advisor named Shazia. Shazia was very
helpful and informative, it went very well thank you.”
“Specsavers Goole are excellent such friendly staff. I am totally blind in one eye and not good in the other so was under hull eye surgery. I hadn't been for a while there so Goole Specsavers rang them up and arranged for them to see me. Excellent service. Anne walker”
“Hi I went to collect my new glasses today in brighton when I was supposed to try them on for fitting and to make sure they were ok the man came over and tried them on me in the waiting area .I told him that I couldent see clearly through them everyone was watching me and I felt very uncomfortable the man clearly wasnt interested in the fact that I couldent see properly so I left with glasse that are no good I have used specsavers for years but will not use again”
“Eye test went well , need a slight change in prescription, however the frames all seem to be the same shape ( round ) and have got very flimsy, unattractive and expensive. My prescription will have to wait unless I take it somewhere else.”

“Audiology test with Sasha at Tamworth this morning. Great experience, sasha was very informative, helpful, friendly and explained everything really well. Impressive.”
“Spent £442 on titanium frameless glasses buy one get one free which I was told were virtually indestructible. A leg broke off and a new leg installed as under warranty. The second pair had a leg break off in exactly same place and now the original pair which had leg replaced have broken again exactly in same place. Was informed by manager in Stirling branch nothing he could do as glasses out of warranty and it must be a manufacturing fault. Has anyone else had this problem. I will never use Specsavers again”
“I visited Spec savers in Elgin recently. The company had advertised reading
glasses for 15 Pounds. National advertising.
I went to get some. There was clear pressure to buy designer glasses.
I was then directed to a stand where I was tole the L15 specs would be. There were none. I was given a box and told to put the specs I liked in it. They were all considerably more than L15.
The assistants are clearly trained to do this.
This offer is quite insincere and is a device to get you into their shops
so they can pressure you into buying more expensive specs.
I wouldn't go nearSpecsavers again. They are only really interested in making money.”
