“I have had a very disappointing experience with the services provided by Trip.com. The customer service is of very poor quality, they do not pay attention to customers' needs, and they are only interested in asking for more money rather than helping with any changes to the trip. I would strongly advise against using Trip.com as it has been a complete waste of both money and time.”
“I canceled my booking before tickets were issued but I was charged about $288. I was told by customer care representative to cancel the booking & I will get a full refund but they charged me. I canceled my booking at first then again it prompted me to cancel & that’s were they charged me about $288. No representatives were ready to help me get back my refund.”
“DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM!!! They only have 1 star because 0 isn’t an option.
Their customer service is in India and they do all they can to scam their customers.
We purchased a flight and bags ($81/bag) and come to find out that $81 was for one single leg of our trip! (1 out of 4 legs).
This was not clear during booking.
And when we called to cancel, they would not allow us to. And then after fighting, they would cancel the flights but not the bags. (Which was only good for up to 39lbs).
We have to call our bank to stop the charge (which was only 3 hours ago) and claim it fraudulent because this company is a huge SCAM.”
“Trip.com is nothing but a lying cheating scamming company. They insisted that I purchase checked baggage after purchasing 2 flights in Europe . Not only did they keep my $200 euros for themselves instead of giving the money to the airlines … but the airlines offered me FREE checked baggage . There was no charge ????
Of course since Trip.com had scammed me out of this money they offered no refunds to me ???
Avoid this fly by nite cheating fraudulent company like the plague .
Please pass this along and warn others about them”
“Worst company to deal with. They sent me and email that my payment has been declined. Paid with my debit card and charged my credit card as well. Now they refuse to give me a refund even tho I contacted them within two minutes. Don’t use!”
“Absolute Nightmare – Stay Away from Trip.com!**
I booked six tickets through Trip.com and was issued six tickets. However, a few days later, they cancelled four out of the six tickets after charging me for the full amount, almost $3000. Despite their assurances over an entire month that they would rectify the mistake and issue the missing tickets, nothing was resolved.
This company is a SCAM of the highest order. They took my money and failed to provide the service promised. Their customer service is utterly useless, filled with empty promises and no action. Each interaction was a frustrating exercise in futility, with representatives who either couldn't or wouldn't help. It felt like they were just stringing me along, hoping I would give up.
Not only did they fail to fix their mistake, but their complete lack of professionalism and accountability is appalling. The sheer incompetence and disregard for their customers is beyond belief. I've wasted countless hours trying to get this sorted, only to be met with lies and excuses.
STAY AWAY FROM THEM, AVOID USING TRIP.COM! This has been the most stressful, infuriating, and disappointing experience I have ever had with any company. If you value your time, money, and sanity, do not use Trip.com. They are deceitful, unreliable, and an absolute nightmare to deal with. This company should be shut down for their blatant disregard for customers.”
“I have bought a flight ticket through Trip.com and the flight got cancelled, after 8 hours of delay.
Had one of the worst days of my life.
People who bought the ticket off from the airline website were able to get a full refund, immediately, while I had to contact Trip.com and go through their processes.
Not once I have imagined that they wouldn't refund it, because obviously everybody got their refunds. It turns out that Trip.com will not make the refund.
This is obviously a scam and I will never, ever use Trip.com again. Please keep in mind that all of my friends who bought the same flight ticket through other channels were able to get their refunds right away, while I was being scammed by Trip.com.
Never again.”
“Please avoid Trip.com at all cost! I booked flights along with travel insurance knowing that the flights were nonrefundable, which I am not even sure how that is a thing. The insurance was very misleading. I believed that the insurance would cover me should I need to cancel my flight. I received the policy after the insurance had been purchased and it was only then that I was able to see what was covered, which isn’t a lot. I did have to cancel my flight, I filed a claim with the insurance and my claim was denied because the insurance co claims my reason for cancellation does fit into the events covered. So now not only am I out the $ for my flight but also the $ for the insurance that I purchased for apparently no reason. I have contacted customer service on numerous occasions and they do not provide any support. This company does not have any integrity and I will not be using them in the future. I will be reviewing them on all platforms available to me to get the word out and save others from this unfortunate experience.”
“I booked a holiday trip for my husband birthday & my 60th birthday to India and Dubia flights were good with Emirates but when we got to Dubia there was No TRANSFERS transport which I already paid for 2 way got to hotel mix up with hotel room had to pay fir that night again until it got sorted. Oscar booked a hotel Rotana Hotel which had NO USE of the SPA ROOMS & also said it jumeirah hotel no mention of Rotana hotel the view outside of our bedroom was terrible I couldn't open any windows this was in April 2024
I got in touch with Oscar & explained what had happened he's not refunded my money for the room or the transfers not even a penny for all the upset ad inconvenience I am NOT HAPPY I WILL NEVER BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY AGAIN IT NOT WHAT THEY SAY IS FAKE AD A SCAM COMPANY
Now it's July Oscar said he would sorted
not heard from him won't answer my calls.”
“Booked a return flight and they sent tickets for a completely different departure time and airport for the outbound flight than we chose. Spent hours on the phone with customer service who put the blame on us for selecting the wrong flight when we had checked the flights multiple times on the booking page before payment. Clearly a technical issue or bug on their system which they are refusing to admit. Obviously unable to provide evidence as the issue is within their system! Looking at reviews here over the past few days, it looks like other customers have experienced the same issue. This has caused unnecessary stress and wasted time.”
“Due to the demise of one of my family member, I need to cancel the trip. Checked with airline using the booking number, they said they can refund me the airport tax. But as I booked the tickets from Trip.com, I should liaise with Trip.com.
But when, I liaised with Trip.com, keep getting replied everything is non refundable”
“Scam company with faulty systems
Messed up my flight details and had the audacity to say it was my fault then when I asked for proof said they cannot give proof did not want to offer a full refund. Wanted to give me trip coins.”
“The booking dates were not the same as the input on SkyScanner. The process also transferred me to payment pages that I did not request. It’s either a scam or faulty website with bugs. No one is there to call or talk to - just automated.”
“These guys are scammers. They will take your money and if anything goes wrong they will do everything to keep it. I booked a flight through these guys with luggage as it was essential to my trip. Once my flight was booked and they had my money they told me they couldn't book my luggage. I tried everything they asked to book my luggage but they couldn't. I therefore asked for my money back but they refused again and again and again. Once they have your money they don't give a toss about you and will stew from you. I have used other airlines where they will immediately provide a refund with a problem like this. This company will take from you. I asked to even cancel the flight in the hope that they would at least provide the tax back but they didn't even do that.”
“Never booked connecting flights. DO NOT USE! My family friends (Husband and Wife) just recently used Trip. com to help book roundtrip flights to Vietnam from Sweden (came to about $2200 for 2 tickets) and it happened to be with Swiss Airlines and Vietnam Airlines. They got the receipts, confirmation and everything is correct... until arriving at the airport. The airport counter said that one of the 2 tickets only have one flight booked through Swiss Airlines and that a flight with Vietnam Airlines does not exist in the database (the other one did show). The husband never boarded the flight as Swiss Airlines would stop at Mumbai - which requires a visa for entry, as he does not have because the plan was never to enter Mumbai, he will transit through Mumbai to Vietnam - therefore lead to him being denied boarding at the swedish airport in the first place. Trip. com is refusing to refund, rebook or give any sort of compensation for their mistake. Even though both flights are paid for. Trip. com says that this is out of their control, but what could he have done differently to avoid this situation?? His receipts literally provides flight details with Vietnam Airlines, how could the flight not show up on the airport counters database is my quesiton. My only suspicion, is that they never actually booked it. Here's our experience dealing with them. July 2024.”
“Awful. Using this site to book flights resulted in an extra $1,000 in fees through the airline. Trip.com didn’t even book the connecting flights…which I had to figure out when I got to the airport. If I hadn’t asked the gate agent I would have missed the connecting flight and wasted a whole 2 days of vacation.”
“Dear Trip.com,
I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the customer service I received during a recent trip to Denali National Park.
While I booked a hotel through Trip.com, I was stranded due to park closures and unreliable communication. Despite numerous calls explaining the situation (phone outages, generator-powered businesses), Trip.com did not offer solutions or address my concerns regarding unreachable hotels or alternate accommodations.
After being forced to find alternate lodging with no heat and unreliable electricity, 10 hrs later Trip.com finally agreed to cancel one day of my original reservation, but by then, I was unable to change my train departure.
This entire experience was a nightmare, and the lack of assistance from Trip.com was a nightmare.
Good prices bad support!”
“It is better to book through the airline company itself as trip.com and other agents take a fee if there are last minute cancellations or changes of the flight. They are not ready to make exceptions for emergency illness or not fit to fly situations and have asked if they can make the exception of changing the ticket to a Flexi in case there is no control of when is it appropriate to fly out again. The change ticket has to have an end date and id you change after the departure date they charge exorbitant fees. In their opinion it's not them it's the airline policy and that has to be worked out from customer service of the airline. After a very harrowing experience I would suggest all to just book directly with the airline so you are not incurring two fees for the airline change and the agent fees change. If you book so make sure you are going to be well or if uncontrollable circumstances or sickness because of food poisoning occur then make sure to suck up loads of money to make the flight changes, trip.com doesn't really care or not come up with a policy for this.”
“Beware of this app! Despite its good looks, it's a scam waiting to trap you. Any small mistake will cost you money, and the so-called 24/7 customer service is nothing but a series of apologies for their unclear, non-refundable policies. They keep your money without any accountability. Strongly not recommended.”
