This company has the worst customer service. I was not able to top-up my electricity meter for a month and I called them almost 30 times but still I couldn't resolve the issue. I was able to top-up gas meter and transferred that money to electricity meter. Their customer service is a joke and they waste customers time unnecessarily. They don't know what the problem is and how to resolve it.

Almost non existant customer service, expect phone lines to cut you off 20 or 30 times before you give up. Dishonest staff and lie even during Ombudsman cases. As an elec provider they arent bad but if anything goes wrong you are stuffed, they isolate all contact to make it impossible and train their staff to be abusive to customers :(

If I could munis 10 starts I would. I moved into a property back in July last year. Since I moved in, I’ve not been able to contact them once. The phones on hold for up to an hour and cuts dead. Switching provider to a company who I can correspond with accordingly to keep my kids warm this winter. 4 email sent in this time and have not heard a peep back. Goodness knows what they actually do in their offices. Absolutely disgusting. Do not want them getting another penny out of me. I even tried the emergency lines and nothing. Makes me wonder how many people being looked after by them will suffer this year if an issue occurs in someone’s home. Good riddance to them! I can’t answer the questions in the survey below. Mainly because I got nil response ever!

I was very disappointed in utility customer services felt I got got fob off time and time again when I was on the phone yo customer service i was off the supply for 3 day with out hot water or gas had to go out and pay for heater to heat my own home the enginer who come out zaheer was fantastic very kind and very professional he made sure we had heating on in our property zeheer come out to the property late at night and did a fantastic work and didn't rush the job he really did take his time I'm so happy with everything zaheer had done he even fitted new meter in our property I'm so please for everything our enginer has done for us

I’ve very recently purchased a property and i’m trying to get registered with Utilita. Held on the phone for 1hr 6 minutes to speak to a Customer service Advisor who then asked me to hold. Then another 1hour 18minutes later the phone was answered, took my name then asked me to hold so she could reset the meter. Held on for a few minutes only to be cut off. This is shocking and im really disgusted at this company. I would be obliged if someone from Utilita could explain why this happens. I just want a card so I can get supply until I can change to a Credit meter. Please can someone help.

I have been charged with a standing charge for 5 years on a key meter !! They claim im not & i contacted ofgem to sort this matter out & receaved only £75 from over £900 that utilita owe me on standing charge!! If utilita was not charging me a standing charge why is it that when my mains electric supply is switched off for over a week when away from home that from £5 credit i come back after 7 days to see £2.56 remaining when the electric supply from the mains is switched off !! I am still being charged a standing charge that is breach of contract !! Utilita solution is to get a smart meter that they repeat over & over like a scratched record player !! I cant get anyone from ofgem or utilita to view my meter as proof of standing charge is being taken out daily !! Utilita are conning me out of money !! Charging me a standing charge daily !! On a no standing charge contract !!! I forgot to mention that utilita constantly lie !!

DISGRACEFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE Firstly ive been a long standing customer and do not expect such disgraceful,disgusting, and uncaring service. Utilita us an absolute joke of a Company. 1hr EVERY SINGLE TIME to answer the phone from your South African call centre. Then 40 mins trying to get the non functional to work to no avail!Ive been waiting 7 weeks for a SMART METER THAT WORKS!!!! In the meantime my Gas and Electric have gone off whilst at work as ive no idea what my balance is. Ive phoned half a dozen times for help. Put in formal complaints with Advisor to speak to SUPERVISOR and nothing. Instead one is made to listen to repetative messages about the Award winning Apps -seriously do you not think CUSTOMER SERVICE is more important!!!! Ive tried to change Company but Utilita is NO help! YOUR A DISGRACE OF A COMPANY!!!!

Shady company tell you no hidden costs will that's a lie got standing order charges, swap your taff because you dont pay by direct debit but have never once asked me to, the app doesn't work been sending meater reading but apparently they haven't gotten them so as a result I now have a bill of over £3000 on top of the £200+ a month I have already paid over the 10 months I've been with them so they made me swap to a pre pay meter to pay it off and that doesn't work either , so now me and my family are sitting in the dark freezer defrosting with all our food in it because even when you call them to fix the problem after over an hour wait to talk to someone they put the phone down on you before you even get your post code out your mouth and don't even bother with the live chat because they can't actually do anything or look into anything and again another long wait for the useless and unhelpful feature

Dreadful can't handle customer services I've been trying to pay for my energy since moving in in March 22 No one has managed to sort problem with numerous calls,no response to letters even with recorded delivery ask to email certain member of staff no reply.This company is hopeless customer service the worse I've encountered.My advice not to use them

Everything, smart meter was installed but instead of a credit meter (d/d) I had a prepayment installed, I was told I still had to pay the full amount of direct debit and top up!! I couldn't top up the prepayment meter as I didn't have the card number, complained and the customer service person put me through to the payment and I topped up £50 and it's disappeared... I have spoken with every department as they pass the buck, over the last couple of months I have spent around 4 hours a week on the phone and I still haven't got my money back, been to ofgem and they put me through to utilita again, if I owed them money I would have a judgement against me by now, total disgrace how this company works and treats their customers.. I wish I could swap energy company but it's not advised due to the prices 😕 a complete joke

I telephone Utilita and spoke to Scott the lovely Scottish male and he explained the process very professional about my enquiry with regards to my first bill that I had received and that the housing had not issued me a legal tenancy agreement as my full address was not on the tenancy that I had signed. also I need access to the meter at all times. So I took the advice and will Look forward to telephoning Utilita back when I have received the updated version of my tenancy agreement to arrange either a direct debit or pay as you go card. I would rather tweeze my toenails off one by one then be with this shambles of a company. Each time I have rang up I have been on hold for over an hour. NOT REMOTELY HELPFUL. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

I cannot get them to send me a bill and this has been going on since end of May I don't know what we owe they've put us in utility poverty which we have never owed money in our lives Their customer service is 0 we're an elderly couple and we're at our wits end.They are the worst company you could imagine DON'T USE THEM

Only company I know of that doesn't charge a standing charge, property is empty and no electricity or gas being used, but still getting small bills monthly, send as many as you like not paying a penny. I have photographed meter monthly and look forward to seeing you in court if necessary.

Scam of a company keeping sending me bills for nearly 800 pound spoke to them many of times I have pay as you go meters that I have to top up key and card for to have gas and electric when I confronted them they said it was a mistake and they'd sort it a few weeks later I have another bill for the same amount threatening to go to court and put pay as you go meters in (which I already have absolute morons good luck to who ever answers my call sick of them avoid!!!

Been on the phone an hour and a half now on hold just trying to get a customer number! I have 3 children and I have just moved house to find these idiots are the provider. Been trying to get through since last Thurs they're an absolute joke.. only reason I'm trying to gey these is because my energy supplier from the old house is unavailable due to their systems Been down! Please avoid utilita if you want someone you can contact in emergencies!

Absolutely awful company. I have had problems with them for a couple of years now but the last 6 months has gotten insane. They keep asking for proof of identity to which I have provided on many occasions only to he told its back in the Original owner of the property's name. How on earth this keeps happening is beyond me and now the debt owed is mounting up due to them not being able to correctly update their systems and take payment from me. I am just running round in circles. The last thing I need/want is debt or the stress and anxiety this is bringing. Also have sent me (in original owners name) a bill for the past 2 months of £1200. I live with a 4 year old in a small property and work 5 days a week, their is NO plausible way my bill would be 1200 for 2 months. They can shove it....

Being overcharged. Switched to a credit account at a day rate only from prepayment E7 tariff. But after 2 months they are still charging me for a day rate and a night rate at same time overnight. Can never get hold of them and it’s at least an hour to get through to them at best

Absolute con of a company... They don't answer the phone. My meter is faulty and I'm owed money in failed transactions. They are pure scum. This company is making me more suicidal by the day......
