Utilita is such a joke, tried to get my prepayment meters moved into credit or bill and looked on their website for the criteria. I passes all their criteria online. I called waited 25 mins on phone only to be told I cannot touch my emergency credit at all for 3 months for them to pass me over to a credit or bill payment. I touch emergency because I can't afford to top up every 3 days with current situation. I tried to explain prepayment doesn't work for me as I get paid irregularly so for me a bill works best and I know I can pay it off when the bigger bill comes. Never missed a payment with any other companies. Never known this to be a criteria and it's a laughing stock. Prepayment with current prices is a rip off too, make £45 disappear in 2 days.. only have one clothes wash a week, don't have the radiators on all the time. But somehow use £9 per day?.. sure. I want to switch so bad but current situation leaves me no choice but to sit without electricity in winter.

I think utilita are a joke falsifying information ie the wrong billing amount as it was estimated not actually my bill to obtain a warrant illegally or my start up reading was wrong or somthing has happened I don't know one guy said on the 30/11/21 he found the issue and would not tell me what it was but cos my case was with the revinue team it would not allow him to do nothing about it and passed my Case to the complaint dep 2-3 hour call bk never happend . And today they wa suppose to Iillegally entering my property to fit a meter with an illegal debt update on that they did not turn up, I was on the phone from 9 am today1/11/21 till 2:45 been told they are right I am wrong i asked to speak to a manager non available apparently was told I'm not allowed brething space to put the debt on hold even though I'm on on disability benefits and on there priority list ........ I moved in my property on 2/11/20 I moved out on 14/2/21 temporarily i did not return to the property till 7 months later and the only thing that was left was a fridge freezer turned on I took all my stuff what little I had. I payed £109 on the 1/1/21 £109 that was the first bill I got. I moved out on the 14/2/21 i did not return till 7 months later I then sent a £200 payment so in total iv payed £309 what would well cover any usage but no they say I still owe £710.41 so they say/don't as they say iv been in the property all 11 months and the readings are right that iv given Iv used £1019.41 in 2 and half months after giving a meter reading one month ago till today iv used £98 that over 12 months is £1176 so basically in two and a half months I 100% know that's the time frame I was in the property iv used almost 1 years worth of gas an electric what a bunch of cowboys... If I used £98 this is for gas and electric in one month x two and half months that's £244 I spoke to someone yesterday he said he looked in to it and he can see what's happen as stated already and he tryed to sort it but because it gone to the revision team or somthing there nothing he could do i was then past on to the revision team the guy said he will brake into my house I will bring the police pay me ((NOW)) in full or I will brake in. Even knowing I don't owe the money I'd had inuff and tryed to set a payment plan up he would not allow me to pay £100 then £300 in five days the rest and the remaining on 28 /1/22 that was not good enough so I put the phone down and phoned bk and funny my call was answered immediately by the complaint team I explained the situation he was horrible told me I'm wrong there right he's done that job for 10y and there never wrong never the only thing I go off is what my colleagues say I'm like read the notes no he would not i said I want to speak to a manager no he said I said iv Done a SAR and this call is been recorded he said wait on one min low and behold manger come on the phone I explained my situation again she kept saying the bill is right and kept explaining it but she kept saying estimated I was saying but you have the readings she said ye that's right I'm like what's right you keep saying estimated she like ye that's right I'm like what the actual f she like dont swear I'm like you can not answer a direct question I said what estimated about it she said I'm not going around in circles I'm like what answer the question she would not and just said it's all correct and said she will put it to deadlock and said they noting I can do just go to the ombudsman.

This company is beyond a joke... Iv been on to utilita for the past 2 hours!! Iv been transfered to x4 different departments... & now I'm sat in the dark with a 1 year old baby!! Iv tried topping up £ 100 electricity but meter is rejecting it last reset number they told me to enter locked the key pad so now I have to wait a further 45 mins before I have to ring them back a probably be passed to another x4 departments... I don't know how they expect me to ring them back when I have already informed them that I have been sat in the dark x2 hours with no power supply my phone battery is about to die & I have a 1 year old baby I'm the house with me!! This company is above & beyond a joke!!!

Only sign up with Utilita if you want.... To wait on the phone for hours to end up frustrated and with no resolution. Smart meters installed by them after months of waiting that don't communicate, meaning you are forced to top up rather than pay by direct debit. Engineers who either don't show at appointed time or, if they do, are not the sharpest tools in box (being kind). An offshore call centre that is more focussed on getting you to do things their way than solving your problem. Dreadful customer service in every way. If you're up for the above, use Utilita. If you want to deal with a company that cares, go elsewhere.

I posted that they were the worst company, bar none, that I have ever,ever dealt with. And or good reason. Its like they win employee awards for creating nonsense over there. The priority complaint resolution dept phoned. What a misnomer. They should be called the phone you to argue under the pretense of wanting to help dept. It was like a prank phone call. Just when I thought they could not get any worse. They put more effort into it. A stunningly rubbish company. Stay away. Just look at their customers rock-bottom 4% positive reviews.

Topped up 37 on the 11th by the 18th had £1 electric left Used £36 in a week With no oven or washing machine as I've just moved so it's impossible I've used that much Do not join Company is the biggest thief ever

Can't believe how many bad reviews these have. I nave been with them for years and they are the cheapest I have come across. I had a problem with my meter, went into the app and did live chat, had an engineer arranged for a couple of days later, he came, he fixed, he left. I just did a comparison for SCOTTISH POWER. SP want 3 TIMES+ as much from me for the same amount of gas/electric for the year, so £3,500+ for the year, and that's on their cheapest tarrif with a monthly account rather than pre pay! And the reason I checked was because my daughter changed from Utilita to Scottish power and her bill shot up. She nows owes them £400 in 6 weeks and she has also been paying them £120 a month! I'm just waiting for the price hike like all the others have done but so far I have no complaints about Utilita. When there's a problem everyone likes to complain, so thought I would put my positive review online so people can see its not all bad

Absolutely shocking !! Can never get through to anyone, if you email they take no notice. Any appointments arranged via phone they change at last minute. My advice to anyone is do not bother ! An email them so you have a paper trail. Because funny enough notes go missing !!

Absolute shocking energy supplier , regret the day I was talking into switching there smart metres don’t ever top up ! I have to physically punch numbers into my main power board ,Can’t talk to anyone, contact number isn’t even the correct one on the App, I wouldn’t even rate this company 1 star it should be put out there it’s unreliable and a joke god forbid if you had a major emergency because you definitely wouldn’t be able to get in contact with these as soon As I can switch I will be off ! I actually don’t know how this company is getting away with treating customers like this !

I am not sure how this company have managed any positive reviews, I’m baffled. This is the worst company ever. Con artists. I live alone, in a studio flat and never turn the heating on as it doesn’t work and was being charged £85-£150 p/m. Ridiculous. I never had any excessive use of electricity running but was still charged super high. They sent out an engineer when I voiced my depression but the engineer didn’t help the situation. They would promise to contact me to investigate the issue and high bill and supposed high usage but never would they would continuously lie. Very very expensive and disappointing. I have now swapped providers and I am only being charged £38 and I have not changed any habits.

these are a joke the smart meter is robbing me i’m a single mum with 3 kids, 3 bed house and just using everyday items, on the 27th to the 3rd of nov i put 100 in my electric in one day there trying to say i used £10 no way on this earth i’ve contacted them numerous times as this has been happening for over a year and a half and they say there is no way the meter is faulty as it’s a smart meter and there accurate, ive asked for someone to come out and read the meter to be told no as the engineer as soon as he see’s the meter will refuse to do it as it a smart meter and accurate, i put in for winter warmer discount as i have a sister who has learning disability’s so i thought that having someone venerable in the house i would surely get it but noooppe it’s automatically selected so not everyone gets it, ive tried changing company 3 times only to have letters of refusal off utilita one was for owing them 50p i just dunno we’re to turn, WORST company ever

Here i am a young mother of 3 with my youngest being only 6 months of age whilst this company withholds almost £70 of my money... moved house on the 2nd of Oct 2021 and was in credit on my meter and so far we have gone from 'sending me a cheque' to taking my bank details to do a transfer to npw saying i cant have a refund till i get access to the meter at my old property which sold a week after moving... asked to speak to a manager. Was given a 24/48hr time frame.. was never called... phoned back to see what was going on still no further forward... absolute joke of a company... avoid like the plague!!!

Utilita STOLE my account!! Gas stopped working today (am on a pre payment meter) called my who i thought was my supplier to be told, utilita have taken my supply over almost 18 months ago!! i call utilita who tell me, not only do they have 3 accounts registered at my address but NONE of them have my name or my landladys name on it... they cannot speak o me as i am not registered!! had one agent called tracy who thought it was ok to constantly talk over me and when i finally lost my temper and asked her to listen for 5 seconds put the phone down on me and then called me back to say 'she had lost me' passed me through to the department who can definitely help, to be told, no i cant help you send your tenancy, tenancy sent 6 times and 'not recieved so cannot help me' passed me through to someone else! now i am being told you cant help me and i have no gas stole my account and then refuse to help. DO NOT go with this supplier but be careful you my actually get no choice!

This is the worst company for the warm air discount , I am a pensioner and I am a pay as you go , I have been told the I may not get the discount until march 2022,, that's ok if on a bill and it is deducted , but it doesn't help those that are on a prepayment meter

Customer service is shocking they never answer and you go round in circles with automated services topped up 40pound on the gas and it's not registered on the app or showing up but as come out of my bank and I can't speak to anyone absolutely shocking
