Has anyone had a offer of compensation from Wickes and did you accept it? If not what was your next move?

What an awful experience. I spent £25K on this kitchen installation, £15k was from Wickes for their Intelliga Esker Ice and appliances fully installed by their contracted kitchen fitter. In summary: - The kitchen delivery had two guys whose personal hygiene was awful. Marked my walls and kept banging items off of my ceiling lights, even when asked not to. The items were so roughly treated that lead to multiple damages. - The kitchen fitter used an unqualified electrician to sign off my kitchen's electrics. - Neff Induction hob had a 6 inch deep scratch - Neff oven had external scratches to the visible surround - Neff glass hood was cracked - 3 draws were broken by the finish of the installation - 3 doors had damage and/or scratches The kitchen installation manager called me once he realised I was getting very irate, I attempted to engage on 3 other occasions but was ignored. I then escalated and spoke to Wickes complaints who appeared to be taking it seriously. But then wrong items were sent and excuses issued blaming anyone but themselves. I am on the 12th week of installation and have just had the replacement items delivered soon to be installed but unfortunately COVID-19 has put a stop to the reinstallation of broken/damaged items. Overall an awful experience and I would not recommend them for installing your kitchen. They have multiple departments which pass the buck to each other and or don't talk to point of resolving issues for the customer. Mr Bishop Salisbury

I ordered a kitchen from Wickes in September 2019 and what a mistake that turned out to be. Planned fitting date was the 2nd December and the kitchen was to be delivered the 28th November. It first started to go wrong when the fitter called on the 24th to ask if it was ok if he came on the 3rd to start as he had been asked by Wickes to finish another fitters work, no big deal so I agreed, 28th November arrived and the drivers arrived and could not deliver the kitchen but the truck was too big, even though they had been told that I lived down a narrow lane. Drivers disappeared and four hours later I received a call to arrange another delivery date. I agreed on the 2nd December, the day before installation. By 1600 hours on the 2nd no sign of the delivery so I drove to Wickes in Salisbury to try to sort it. The lady calls Northampton to be told the delivery was never authorised by the unit manager. Fortunately the store manager was there and after a lengthy conversation with the warehouse he got agreement that my kitchen would be delivered on the 3rd. Lo and behold the fitter followed by the units arrived on the 3rd...why was I worried??? Two days followed with no issues to report..then on the third day a text from the fitter to say his van had broken down so could not get here, he finally arrived the following afternoon, came back on the Saturday to do what he could. At the end of the day he could not finish due to a shortage of units as well as damaged doors. As we were getting close to Christmas he convinced me to sign his docket to say he had finished otherwise Wickes would not pay him and he wanted to take his son away for Christmas but promised me he would be back to finish after the holiday season. What a fool I was in the end I had to go through the manager at Wickes to get it finished, it was not the original fitter as he was too scared to come and see me. Anyway the upshot is that none of the work tops were stuck down as they should have been and so the second fitter had to re glue as many as he could get to, as well as finish off the original work. Well I thought that was it until I had a plumber around to fit a new radiator and when he went to drain the system he found that the earth for the house had been left unconnected. This being the final straw I messaged Wickes customer service and they responded quickly. The work was finished. All I would say is please do not use Wickes as there are far better companies out there. If you feel the need to use them because their prices suit your pocket just think again. For people in The Salisbury area use other companies. If you cannot go elsewhere then do not use their fitters and in particular PB Carpentry because his workmanship and Integrity are poor.

Order arrived incomplete - excuse from delivery men that I should have been informed. So much time wasted contacting Wickes to chase up. Unresolved. Awful service

If you are self-isolating due to an underlying health condition and you want something delivered please do not buy it from Wickes. My advice is based on very recent experience where I ordered a worktop and a base unit and the driver refused to deliver it. In my view the staff are ill-informed and do not accurately follow government guidelines.

Ordered some paving slabs from Wickes and spent £325 and they took my money, nobody contacted me about delivery and when I contacted them to chase it up I was told to wait for a call from the supplier, Wickes then called me back a few hours later to tell me that the product doesn't actually exist and that they will refund me which will take another 5 working days. Thanks Wickes for holding my £325 for 10 days. Their customer service response to this was, I am sorry but there is nothing further I can do for you. I have worked in customer service for around 8 years and as a customer service manager the least that I would expect is either a similar suggestion of an alternative product or a £5 voucher for the inconvenience.

Fitted tops by their fitters Sheridans noticed a mark shortly after they left. They had disguised this with water spray and took a long distance photo . They are suggesting we did this 1/2 hr after fitting. What a joke good job I didn’t get them to fit the cabinets as well

Refuse to meet their guarantees after the units and facing boards have staretd to blow and crack, three years after fitting, now intend to take them to court, plenty of photo evidence and an independent survey report whch shows that they used materials not fit for purpose in a kithcen. Despite their statement on their website of "our gurantee will ensure yout kitchen looks a as good in twenty years time as the day it was fitted."

I bought a kitchen from wickes. Just over 2 years ago Like the review below the doors have cracked and split. Most doors have a chip somewhere. Even on the inside if the doors. I complained and again like the last review was told it was access water. Or spillage. You can’t get a spillage on the bottom of a door. I am so disappointed.

Bought Sophia kitchen units (MDF fascias) in 2015 and a year and a half later the door of the tumble drier ‘blew’ with a big bulge from heat and moisture. I bought another door as I thought it was the fault of the drier but now most of the other fascias are cracked and suffering from water ingress. I wanted to see if the 5 year warranty covered this but Wickes claim ‘ that the issues raised are caused by a mixture of Impact Damage and excessive Moisture Ingress which will have been from either spillages, cleaning or possibly poor aftercare. In either case there has been excess moisture where it has not been removed.“ The model is now discontinued so I now have to probably replace the lot as a match will be difficult. I feel very let down by the quality, guarantee and customer service and won’t be back to Wickes in a hurry.

Shame I cant do minus stars as they dont deserve 1 star for the customer service offered. Had an £18000.00 kitchen from Wickes. Firstly tiling was awful then once that was rectified found they had forgotten end panels so doors siliconed to wall. Now got to have whole kitchen taken out and reput in and tiling done for 3rd time. Sent email to CEO not heard a word. Store just say no need to worry stress or be upset it will be put right well this is not acceptable.

23 months ago we made the biggest mistake possible and ordered a Wickes Kitchen! The fitters, Andrew Cooper and Andrew Smith of Cooper Joinery in Weymouth were supplied by Wickes. They turned up when they felt like it, left our house and especially the kitchen in an unusable state for over 3 weeks. The workmanship was amateurish. They damaged our property! Tiled up to a door so it wouldn't open, I had to remove the door myself to get into the kitchen! We had 4 pages (A4) of issues! They lied and were threatening and abusive when I refused to sign their "completion" paperwork They were also Fraudulent! I have evidence!! Wickes's Customer Service were absolutely useless!! They lie, break promises and deliberately make matters worse!! The Wickes Installation Manager, Mark Bond, turned up smelling of Alcohol and could see no problems (despite the 4 pages of A4 listing the faults), probably due to blurred vision! He accused me of assaulting the Wickes electrician. Then told someone that he lied!! He is renowned for bullying and threatening customers who complain! Again I have evidence!! The Wickes Regional Manager agreed there were significant issues! Yet it took months to get some of them addressed. I had to constantly chase as contact was pretty much 1 way!! We are still left with major issues which Wickes fail to deal with!! The designer, Mark James, came and was apologetic for the poor workmanship, yet did NOTHING!! He said Customer Services would sort it out!! Mind you he wasn't capable of checking whether the kitchen was square!!! I had to show him how to do it, basic maths, but then he is a kitchen designer so probably measuring and maths are not his speciality!!! We had taken out "Interest free credit", yet despite us NOT signing any completion paperwork because it was incorrect, incomplete and Fraudulently completed by the fitters, Wickes notified Hitachi Finance we had and were satisfied with the kitchen!!! We have STILL NOT signed any paperwork, yet have had to pay for a totally abysmal Kitchen installation. I wrote on 2 occasions to the Head of Customer Services and received no reply from him. I wrote to Wickes CEO who forwarded the letter to one of the people I was complaining about!!! DO NOT USE Wickes!! I, and hundreds of other people have had poor Kitchen Installations, and cannot get satisfaction! Wickes Customer Service is atrocious and also Fraudulent!! Don't buy a kitchen from Wickes!!! Wickes give you "Housebarrassment" not get rid of it!!!

How I wish I had read these reviews before I opted for a Wicks kitchen! People please beware! You do have to add extra for plumbing and electrician I also had to pay an extra £100 as the original plan overlooked a cupboard was slap bang on top of a telephone box on the wall. My installer was amazing but afterwards bits of the edging on the work top flaked off. I was told it was due to heavy impact? It wasn’t it just flaked off! A mend was done but it looked bad., a further bit flaked off, then I was told out of a ‘gesture of good will’ they would replace the top BUT I would have to incur the cost of the installation which would involve the sink, oven and tiles being involved, running into £100’s. all that needed replacing was the edging. My kitchen I may add was fitted 19th December 2019 so very new for this fault to occur. I was told the 10 year warranty does NOT cover this?! I bought this kitchen with money my late parents left me, I am 61, on my own and have been left to feel helpless and let down by Wicks and a product they indorse and happily sell to unassuming customers and for not giving the true picture of what they promote.

Had a kitchen supplied and fitted by Wickes in Aug 2018. The fitting costs I was quoted actually more than doubled when they added on the electrician costs etc. Never again The designer drew up plans which my husband looked over and changed obvious things that you’d think the designer would have realised. The kitchen fitter disappointed us with some of his work ie the backsplash having a visible join. All in all I would not recommend Wickes to design your kitchen or fit it. You can get similar kitchens cheaper and have the kitchen fitted at a fraction of the price.

Was sold a defective product by the Hertford store. Took it back and the manager was very rude and refused to take it back. She told me I would have to contact their customer service department. I did, they were useless also. Told me a pack of lies, which I caught them out on. They then said the store would contact me within a week to sort out. That was a month ago! Disgraceful service. I will never use Wickes again and to be honest I'm surprised they are still in business. Avoid at all costs! As a footnote I returned said defective item as directed by customer service. I left it on a shelf for them to dispose of.
