Tried to order something today out of… Tried to order something today out of the magazine... was priced at 149.00 looked online priced at 200.00 told to call customer service was told that for Black Friday only...? I received the magazine two weeks ago. Asked why the magazine didn’t mention that was told tuff... try again in Black Friday. What a joke.. open gate has way better customer service. When I asked to speak to supervisor I was told to call back in 1 hour. Why they are not available right away is crazy. Oh wait they got one of their friends to answer the call and tell me the same thing. Wouldn’t trust with my credit card. Umber moving forward no thanks! Can’t honor catalogue pricing no thanks.

Expensive tree that worked exactly three years which is the number of years of their warranty. Can’t repair so their option is buy a new tree. A tree this expensive should not be a throw away after three years.

We spent over $1200 for a tree and it looked nothing like the website picture. We also had to cut melted chunks of plastic off several branches. Also, the whole bottom half of the lights did not work. When we contacted customer service they said we could not send back for a refund because we cut the pole 4 inches so it would APPEAR as their website picture did. WILL NEVER BUY FROM THEM AGAIN.

Worst company to buy from. Should had read the 217 complaints with the BBB in the past 3 years before buying. Spent almost $2000 and get a damaged flip tree (bent tree and broken stand). It weighs 115lbs and they want me to box it and ship it back. They should pay to have it picked up. They offered nothing for this terrible experience other than holding my funds hostage until its returned.

Agree with all of the below responses. Don't waste your time on this company. I bought a color/white Balsim Fur tree in 2016 and after less than 2 years over half the colored lights would not work on it. I was within the warranty so they sent me a new tree in 2018. Come 2020 putting up tree and Again over half if the colored lights did not work. Spent hours trouble shooting like they recommend and nothing worked. They said tree was out of warranty (using my original warranty from 2016) to go by. Not the replacement tree sent 2018. Had experience with rude Customer service too. Best they can do is send me 1 white & 1 color strand. I don't even need help with white. They could not send me 2 color to fill the unlit sections at top and bottom of tree. Bottom line is their trees DO NOT last & they will only give you limited help. Don't trust the quality of their product!

We purchased an 11 foot fir tree. After only 3 uses, we noticed melting plastic on the plug, causing a fire hazard. When we contacted the company, we were told that the warranty was expired and the tree should be thrown out. Expected much more from this company. Another crappy experience for 2020!

I bought a 10' Noble Fir flip tree 6 years ago and only half the tree will light. I spent hours changing out fuses, checking bulbs with no luck. Not worth the $1900 I spent 6 years ago. The tree was only lit for 5 hrs a night for 1/2 November and all of December. Don't waste your money.

Whole section of lights went out after Just one year use. Sending me a string of replacement bulbs. Don’t have replacement section. What a Mickey Mouse operation. Customer service very rude. Kept talking over me. Spent a lot of money on what I thought was a high quality tree from reputable company. Could have just as well bought a cheap tree from Walmart. Save your money.

We purchased a tree 4 years ago we had a bulbs that needed replaced that they no longer carry so some of out lights will not work it is the first bulbs by the male plug it is bigger and has a case over it . Very Disappointed will never buy another awesome Hill tree

Paid $900 for a tree five years ago. It looked nice but strands of lights stopped working last year. I’m busy re-stringing replacement lights but it is extremely tedious and takes a long, long, time to do it right. Some customer service reps are not very helpful and not knowledgeable about their products. Overall - expensive product, defective lights and poor customer service make this a poor value.

Their trees may be nice but their customer service is a NIGHTMARE! We’ve been waiting for a refund for almost 2 weeks and all they can say is “we’re really sorry....”. Buy their product but don’t expect a refund if you return it. Complaints filed with the BBB and the Federal Trade Commission

I purchased a tree with colored and clear lights. The second season we went to use it and the colored lights didn't work. I called and they are willing to replace and told me to call back in the fall because it wasn't in stock. I received a message that it was actually discontinued. They are willing to give me $849 for another tree but no other tree compares to what I originally purchased. So I asked if I could pay the difference to purchase another tree that was closer to what I originally purchased and they will not allow me to do that. so I am stuck with a tree that doesn't fully function for almost $1000.00. I will never shop with them again and I will never recommend them ever!!

I bought a tree on sale after Christmas 2018. We were excited in November 2019 to set up and light our new, expensive tree. The top part of our most-realistic, flip tree didn't light. We came customer service and they promised to send a new top. Later, they came back to say they didn't have any tops in stock, but would send us a new tree after Christmas and some lights to put on the topper to get us through 2019 Christmas. 2020, I called in March to ask when our replacement tree was arriving. I was told they were out of stock, but it would arrive by July. In August, I came again to inquire when my replacement tree was arriving. I was told by the first week of September. At the end of September, I called again and was told, this time, my tree was out of stock and they would replace my tree with a different tree - but only up to the price I had paid for my expensive, most-realistic flip tree ($799 on sale). My tree was almost $1900 at full price and the were only going to replace it with a crappy $799 tree or I could use $799 towards the purchase of a comparable tree to mine. So they wanted me to spend another $1000 to replace my tree with a tree we didn't order! Their guarantee is meaningless. I am filing a consumer fraud complaint with our State Attorney General. And I am stuck with a tree that only lights on the bottom half. I wish I could give a zero star review.

The whole purpose of buying this beautiful garland that cost me $159 plus $20 shipping was so that I can hang it anywhere put 3C batteries inside press the button on the battery pack and it work on a timer. I kept this piece over my armoire until August. I put hydrangeas in it you couldn't see the Christmas foliage only the eucalyptus the pinecones and some other greenery the positive side of the battery pack got corroded..mind you batteries lasted 14 days tops it was on a timer to light every day and new batteries always went in and when batteries are removed battery was not leaking or corroded. I was basically told by Adrian to just buy a string of lights and add it to garland..which if that's what I wanted to do I wouldn't have spent this kind of money in the first place. I asked him to send me a new one and I send this back..but because it past warranty which was a premium warranty of 30 days he could not do anything through the computer I asked for manager's name or CEO he could not provide that. They basically have no idea amongst many businesses out there what customer service is and if you charge this much for a product the main part that keeps it lit should be a higher-quality this wasn't a $20 or $50 a piece of Garland. It was never put outdoors. I laugh at their recommendation of only keeping it outside for 3 months. It only last indoors for eight months without bad or weather or humidity. Needless to say I'm going to find every way possible to let people know not to bother with this company save you money go elsewhere or get creative.

Buyer Beware Dealing with BH is difficult to say the least. BH will not honor what their representatives tell you. Chris the "agent" who in a follow up call answeres as a "suervisor". When I called him on it his response was "We can't tell you we are a supervisor when we anwser as an agent" I asked for a supervisor b/c Chris was unbale to resolve my problem. He tells me a supervisor, Kim, will call back. When I called back Chris answers as supervisor. Two (2) sections did not light. BH offered to replace. BH even gave me the month when I would receive them. Never received. I'm not told they have no notes on replacement but sent the kit that was not originally sent with tree for us to try and fix back in Dec 2019. It's now July 2020. They are offering 1 strand of lights for two sections. Chris thought BH was "generous". His term. Look at these reviews. I wish I had. I hope "Ellen" and "Hallmark" read these reviews as they promote BH. They all point to poor business leaving the customer with an expensive tree that doesn't work.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. I bought the 6-1/2 foot Alpine Balsam Fir with LED fairy lights. The tree was avocado green. HIDEOUS! The tree was supposed to be "most realistic." Not sure what planet that qualifies on but it is NOT earth. The branches resembled avocado green pipe cleaners. I didn't even vother to remove it from the box before deciding to return it. Don't waste your money!

In all honesty, this is the one of the most beautiful Christmas Trees around...as long as you don't have any problems with it. Once you have an issue, the customer service, response times, and product knowledge of their CS team is by far the WORST I'VE EVER ENCOUNTERED!! Their support teams are not even provided the tools to help you troubleshoot your issue. They will pass you around to multiple ill-informed agents who start at the same ridiculous suggestion of "did you check to see if the tree was plugged in?" I was forced to repackage and return a 10' tree, and I am still WAITING FOR MY REFUND 2 months later. DO NOT BUY FROM BALSAM HILLS!!

Absolutely pitiful. Do not buy from them. Tre looks like it was wired by a 9 year old kid in Vietnam, Not that there is anything wrong with nine year old kids in Vietnam--they just shouldn't wire anything. Two strands won't light. Changed all fuses, master bulbs--you name it. Still won't work. Strands won't work will plugged in directly to power source. Replacement strand won't work when plugged into tree but works when plugged into outlet or other section of the tree. WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT BUY A TREE ON SALE/CLEARANCE. These trees have a 60 day warranty! Warranty will have expired before Christmas comes around next year! Terrible customer service. Caveat emptor!

We bought a Christmas tree bag but when we tried to use it to store our tree, we discovered that the bag was to small. I tried to return it but was told that their return policy was 30 days or 12/25, whichever comes first. How could I possibly return the bag by 12/25 Christmas Day. I would have had to take my tree down by 12/24 in order to be able to return the merchandise. I will never buy merchandise from this company and would encourage others not to do business with them based on their shady business customer service policies.

The company won't honor what their representatives tell you! I ordered a tree the beginning of December. When it arrived the box was torn and had holes in it. The tree had broken lights, was crooked, wobbled, and turned where it connected. I called and spoke with Trevor, they didn't have a replacement, so he told me to call back after Christmas for a refund if still out of stock. I just called, they are still out of stock, and the supervisor will not give a refund or honor what Trevor said. The supervisor said he would submit a refund to the back office, at the beginning of our conversation, only to turn around and say he won't submit it to the back office. He won't even honor his own word! Don't believe anything they say. They can't be trusted!
