These guys are biggest scam with one of the poor & rudest customer service charged me without even giving me the right information & now not even replying to my emails. I hope the person who is responsible for the company read this message before this culprit staff/members bring your company to loss.

It looks like I'm just one more of the many people who got scammed but I'll post anyway: Total Scam, they cancelled my reservation in Italy even though I called and told them I would be delayed and then they kept my money for the whole month reservation. Fortunately Bank of America back charged their bank and refunded my money after I disputed the charge. Very unethical business. Do yourself a favor and book direct with the rental car company when you arrive at your destination, you will pay less and have the security of dealing direct with the rental car company. I never write reviews but I couldn't in good conscience let other people fall victim to this scam without warning. You're welcome - Anthony Cicerchia

Booked rental car through Rentalcars For December to Jan 2020 and was given a booking voucher to use a Europcars at Tenerife south airport Europcars said they had no booking from rentalcars so had to book another with Europcars which was both more expensive and a downgrade plus additional charges for full CDW . Now fighting with Rentalcars for a refund as they are saying the charges from Europcars are for additional CDW which are £350 !!! and more than the original charge for the car and CDW insurance from Rentalcars together. Rentalcars cannot be contacted directly in the UK by phone or by email ...they have to contact you after leaving a message Complete scam artists and not to be trusted

Hired a car from Firefly car rental Murcia airport last August. Firefly added an unexpected charge of £71 to my credit card. This was for something not requested nor something I was made aware of. Contacted Rentalcars.com who my booking was with, they just said deal with Firefly direct and did nothing to help me get my money back. I will never use either of these companies again, plenty of other choices out there.

We hired a family saloon car for our trip to Dortmund via Rentalcars.com. When we arrived at the Dollar desk, we were informed that we could only have the one car that they had. It was a 7 seater van, meaning that the 1st row of passenger seats were facing backwards. This meant we would not be able to see our baby and toddler in their baby seats. I said I cannot take the car as it is not the family friendly car that we had originally booked. I was told by Dollar to take or leave it. While at the desk, I called Rentalcars.com and spoke to someone who, after themselves speaking to the Dollar staff, confirmed what I was saying, and replied said that I could hire a car from another agency and that they, Rentalcars.com, would pay the difference, and the original booking fee. The only other car I could get was through Europcar and cost about 460 Euros. Before I took it, I again contacted Rentalcars.com and thrice confirmed the refunds due, and then booked the car suited to a family of 4 with two young children. I had been informed by Rentalcars.com, that as long as I show the receipt to them, that I would then get my refund of the original booking, and a refund of the difference in cost of the new booking. So on our return to London, I forwarded the receipt as advised, and then got an email to say no refunds would be forthcoming. I called Rentalcars, and was again advise that I would be due a refund by the different staff members I spoke to, and that they would look into it. I advised them to read the transcripts, and listen to the recorded conversations, and understand that I was told several times that refunds would be due. I was told that they would have to investigate it and it would take up to 4 weeks!? All this despite all the conversations I have copies of, and the conversations being recorded, showing the facts. I am still awaiting reimbursement of the refunds, or any communication whatsoever. Terrible terrible service. I will go to small claims court pending the outcome of their investigation.

ONE OF THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICES I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED I had a problem with a receipt and customer services CHAT was not able to send it to me, so 3 people PRETENDED to have sent that receipt to me via email and ending the chat before I could tell them I had not received that email. SOOO RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL !!!! This unbelievable and unacceptable. I will NEVER use this company again in my life. Also, the Italian company they work with could not provide the car that I was meant to peak up, so instead of a SMART 4x4, they gave me a JEEP RENEGADE.

I rented a car from Manchester Airport In July for 5 weeks. Rentalcars took full payment form my credit card for the hire but when I went to pick-up the car, I was told I would have to pay an extra 17 pound because I was picking up the car early. How early was It?. It was 20 minutes early. I asked if I came back in 20 minutes would I be charged extra, the guy said "No" I came back after 25 minutes, the guy took my details, driving license and so on, then asked my for my credit card for any damages when the car was returned. The company refused to take my credit card because it did not have a 'chip' in the card. This is the same card I used to pay Rentalcars. After being humiliated at the desk, I then had to find my own transport to Shropshire. I emailed Rentalcars on July 15, finally (because they hide there email address on the site) explained what had happened and expressed I would like a refund and explanation, why Rentalcars accepted my credit card but I was not told it would be refused at the Airport. At this moment, 30th November (That is 6 months) I have not had an explanation or a refund. I AM STILL WAITING!

If I could give Zero stars I would ! . Awful service with misleading adverts so beware when you book through them. I booked a car recently, a lesser model was supplied. The car I initially ordered did not have a sat nav so I paid extra for one. The lesser model had a sat nav making this extra cost redundant. So for my many pounds spent I got a lesser car and paid extra for something that was not needed. When I reported to them they said there was nothing that I could do and they could offer me possibly a few pounds off another car hire!! They then had the cheek to ask to be marked highly on any customer satisfaction surveys !! - An awful company avoid !!!

Book automatic car few days before holiday, when I come to pick up it just before go out next morning, I have been told that they don't have it for me. Scamers! They used the company Europcar to provide the car for me and Rentalcars forget to put in ordering documents that should be an automatic. They completely don't car about customers. Only the Europcar try to help me in that situation and they did.

Horrible service, its better to book directly with the car rental company. Should anything go wrong and for me it did several times you are screwed. They will not cover your back in any case. They got their commision and that is all they care about. Even if you provide solid proof such as pictures, documentation they will reject any complaint you might have. STAY AWAY its not worth the trouble.

Watch out! They are thiefs! We booked an automatic audi TT already paid so that we get it in the airport of Bologna once we arrive. We were outside Herz at 7.50 but the office was closed so went for a quick coffee before we are back at 8.10 and we line ourselves in the queue. When our turn came 8.35 they asked us to call Rentalcars so that we change main driver's name cause I had not a credit card. Rentalcars told usctgat the pick-up time had passed and tgey good not do anything. Both Herz and Rentalcars refused ironically to help us with very poor reasons and tgey reached to the point to tell us that we had lost our money! They were robbering us in front of our eyes and they were trying to explain it to us! They even had the courage to tell us that they are going to make an exception and offer us the opportunity to book from scratch another car! Or in other words to trust them and repay them since we were satisfied from the first booking we did !?!?! Guys this is an honest comment and please take it seriously cause both they are not to be trusted! This took place on 25/10/2019 at Bologna airport Herz office between 7.50 and 8.50 in front of cashier 1. I am telling you the truth. Do not trust any of the two companies cause they seem to be professional thiefs!

Rentalcars charged me the double price, that they originaly showed me before. I was not able to cancel the booking when i realised it, because i already was in the car. I would never ever book at any price at this company again. This was one of the worst experiences in my life. It totally ruined our holidays.

One of the worst companies I ever dealt with. Stole £100 from me for a £77 rent, without a reason or even an explanation. And to add insult to injury, their online customer service doesn't even try to help and the phone customer service just disconnect you. It's been a month now and I got nowhere. DON'T USE THEIR SERVICES!!!

I made a reservation with Rentalcars.com, at Athens airport, car provider company was Gold Car, (I made my booking at the very last minute prior to my departure). once I arrived at the terminal there were neither was an office nor reps. I asked the information desk how can I get them they said they had to give a name and contact number, where I didn't have it. I have found the Gold Cars number called 3 times waiting on the line for 20 minutes in total. So I tried to call Rentalcars number, the number on the voucher didn't work. On my IphoneX I have tried to use live chat, but it didn't work as well. Lastly, I sent them an email, where they sent the voucher, I replied that email, it doesn't says no-reply this email, Rentalcars.com. The email has not returned back which meant it went through to the right place. I was expecting them to call me but nothing has happened. I was stressed out 30 minutes at the airport with no support. I hired another car and tried to catch my meeting. Today I used their live chat on the computer, the rep hangs up the chat screen. I asked for a customer support number they just wrote 0333 003 5609 we supposed to know where this company has been based, and know the country code, even I asked for it, they didn't provide. Now they are saying that they cannot refund my money. I am stressed out, with no support, very BAD BAD experience. BEWARE from this company. If you come across a problem you will be alone, no support!!! Never ever again I am not going to use it.

Very poor, avoid these fraudsters. I hired a vehicle with them for a trip to Malaga. I arrived at the airport and was waiting over an hour with all my family for the vehicle to be brought from another branch. When the vehicle arrived we were sent on a wild goose chase around the airport to try and find Goldcars other office, with our 8 month old baby, elderly grandparent and all our luggage. When I returned the vehicle I filled the tank at the airport filling station to make sure it was filled to the maximum. Since getting home I have been charged for fuel and a refuelling fee as well leaving me around £100 out of pocket. Rentalcars are not interested and just keep repeating the same that I signed up to it. When I returned the car the keys were taken off me and when I asked about paperwork Goldcar staff said it wasnt necessary. This is the worst service I have ever had. Will be going with a reputable company next time I go on holiday.

For years I used Rentalcars to book cars worldwide with no problems. BUT now !? We booked a car fir two weeks with Rentalcars at Antalya Airport last September. With Full CDW. Although our flight was to arrive after 11.30pm. The car was from a company called Circular Car Hire. The rental contract stated “Fuel policy” as Full to Full. The car was handed over to us at past midnight in a dimly lit area outside the Terminal building. The Circular Car Hire agent told us the tank was an eighth full !! But would get us to our hotel. We didn’t know the way and he had no map if the area to help ! The following morning in daylight we could see the scrape damaged low down on the rear bumper. Both the scrapes and fuel should have been marked, by the agent on the Turkish Agreement documents ( which contained minute terms and conditions, mostly in Turkish ! ) They were NOT marked on the agreement ! On our return we found a charge on our Credit Card for £56.39 (369Tl). A charge we could not recognise as it was under a different name than Circular Car Hire ? When we queried all of this with Rentalcars (after all THEY chose this company ) they have been less than helpful. Telling us to contact the Turkish Car Hire company for a copy of the Agreement Account. While in Turkey TWICE I emailled this company about the Fuel AND the Bumper damage and they have never replied. So much for Rentalcars Customer Service.

Once I had booked my car, Rentalcars.com sent me the booking confirmation voucher and on it, it quite clearly stated that I could use my Debit card as a deposit to collect the vehicle. However, once I arrived to collect the car they said that Debit cards are not accepted and this resulted in me paying an additional 206-euro. Despite being written in black and white, Rentalcars.com would not accept any responsibility whatsoever. This company, are in my view a complete disgrace to their profession, devoid of integrity and should be avoided at all costs.
