“Bodum's Bistro is inappropriately advertised as both a coffee and "espresso" bean grinder.
It does not process a satisfactory grind for espresso. The grinds are not fine enough. As a result the water pours through the coffee to quickly. Meaning you won't get a silky creamy espresso shot.
I am not satisfied with this product and want to return it. I've written its customer service team, but to no avail. I'll keep following up with Bodum with the objective of getting this problem resolved.”
“I have contacted Bodum repeatedly and sent a video as asked showing how their burr grinder does not work. Bought in November and has never worked. They will not get back to me and it has been a few weeks. Terrible customer service. I always thought they were a good company that cared about their reputation, products and customers.”
“Received a coffee grinder as a xmas gift. Decided to use it for the 1st time on Dec. 27th. Very slow at grinding the beans then motor started cutting out. Machine broke after 1st use. I cannot reach their customer service as their numbers are non existent. Tried to send them an email a week ago to start the return process and I am still waiting to hear back. They offer a 30 day return for any "unused" items. By the time I hear back (if I hear back) the 30 days will have expired. Return shipping charges and a 10% restocking fee are on the customer. They say they offer a one year warranty. What does that even mean when the item has to be in unused condition for a refund or replacement? Very unhappy with this product and with this company. I would not recommend them to anyone looking for quality kitchen products or professional customer service.”
“Awful awful experience trying to return items. Bodum don’t offer any free returns and the returns info is BURIED in a long winded T&Cs section on their site. Why not just make it clear and easy? Snarky replies back from customer services over email when I said I couldn’t find the returns info.
Finally went to return the item at the post office - £13.40 cheapest option due to size and weight of the package. The original order incl P&P was only £20! Plus have seen other reviews saying they dock 10% for a restocking fee. Will not be returning and instead will try to resell or regift. Don’t order from them”

If I had seen the large number of negative reviews about Bodum.com’s Customer Support before I ordered my Travel Coffee Press over a month ago, I never would have done business with them. I already had one, which I liked, but I wanted another one for camping. I ordered it from Bodum.com because they had the best deal online. A week later my package arrived but I was sent a plastic Ice Coffee maker by mistake. Their customer service phone number is only there for show, so I had to explain the order mixup in an email to their Customer Support Team. Two days later I received a form letter asking me to send a picture of the item I was sent and my complete address. The only time I ever had to send a picture of an item was when it arrived broken and I was asking for a refund. So I sent several pictures and my address…that was 27 days ago. Since then I have not received the item I ordered nor have I heard from Bodum’s support team. Yesterday I called my credit card company (their phone worked) so as not to be charged for the purchase. If Bodum.com cared about the service their customers got, they would not accept such incompetence from their Customer Support Team. You can do better Bodum!”
“Please read all of the negative reviews. I wish I had. Bodum offers horrible, incompetent service. Recently, I ordered an item from them, which never arrived. I opened a ticket with the mail carrier, and I contacted Bodum for a full refund. They never replied, so I am filing a complaint with the local consumer protection. Furthermore, I am contesting the purchase with my credit card company. There is absolutely no customer service number to call either. What a sham of a company! They are total charlatans.”
“Horrible customer service. I had to pay out of my own pocket to return a $25 item and plus they deduct a 10% restocking fee. I’ve been using Bodum products for 20 years but they just lost a customer. I emailed them multiple times asking to them to cover my return shipping and they never responded back to me. Just pitiful!”
“I purchased a Bodum coffee pour from a retailer. When I got home I realized I was missing a small piece (the lid for the pot once the coffee filter was removed). This lid is not shown anywhere on the product packaging, except for in the “instructions”. I contacted the retailer, who looked at the only other Bodum pot in their stock and advised that that pot also did not have the lid. I wrote to Bodum customer service and asked for a replacement part (likely pennies to the company). I also offered to buy the missing part. The company response was to NOT read my request and refuse all assistance. Referred me back to the retailer. I did also send proof of purchase with the request. For a small plastic part that costs the company nothing. I have gotten better customer service from literally every other retailer that I have dealt with. EVERY retailer I have dealt with has offered to help and support. Bodum does not stand behind its products or it’s manufacturing (despite its stated policies). I will NEVER buy from Bodum again. Cheap company with no ethics. I feel totally disrespected by the blasé attitude that showed the representative didn’t even read my inquiry. Just went straight to “no”. No wonder Amazon is wiping companies like Bodum off the planet. They offer to help customers.”

“My Bodum travel mug which was made of sturdy plastic was absolutely useless after one year. There are cracks everywhere on the mug, and liquid is getting in between the two layers. I would not recommend this product to anyone. I contacted Bodum customer care and they told me that they dont deal with such request.”
“Terrible customer service. Email after Email trying to return an item which has taken over a week and still no progress made. Each email sent comes with a 2/3 day wait for a response. The return process is confusing and stressful, as well as the cost to return the item. Overall disappointing, would not recommend buying more than one item at a time in case you are unsatisfied.”
“Terrible website. Reached out a month ago on a return as a I checked out directly without PayPal (mistake !). Because I didn’t create an account, there was no information in the invoice/emails nor on the website for me to file for a return. Reached out to them over a month ago via email but no one ever got back to me. Reached out through other channels which someone said they will get back to me but never did! The glasses I ordered were of awful quality with scratches on the cups and looked so cheap. Never will order from the company again!!!!!”
“There is absolutely no customer service here they ignore all service tickets and emails sent to them. There is no Canadian phone number to call so you have no way of contacting the company if you have any questions or problems. I do a lot of online ordering so they have lost a good customer.”
