Stuck on motorway 3.5 hours waiting on motorway For RAC still no sign of them.

It took 3 days to recover my car & caravan, I'd taken out extra cover because of the caravan, which they tried to use as an excuse for having no one to send! They didn't care that my passengers were an 81 year old & a bipolar lady. The RAC wouldn't refund the balance of my membership as apparently 72 hours for them is "using the service" My membership number is 200110004738485

Stuck at the side of the road with a flat tyre and my wife and 4 children in the car. Took almost 5 hours for someone to come and the RAC pride themselves that they got someone out within the timescale that they said. When I called after 3 hours she admitted that they hadn't put on the system that I had children in the car. Their follow up emails from customer service were rude and pathetic. Avoid at all costs.

If anyone in UK think you are safe to travel by having the breakdown with RAC think again! There is not such a thing as safety or customer care with RAC. basically, they take your money for many years and when you need them, they will tell you to deal with it yourself. Car broke down on the middle of nowhere and waited for over 10 hours in 30-degree heat with no food no water and no one show up, no phone calls no apology! I was 200 miles away from home and I have to pay privately to recover my vehicle which was instructed by RAC agent. When I've sent a claim to get my money back RAC deny any knowledge of it. Here is the game RAC playing when your vehicle breakdown. 1- If you are brave enough to wait for 2 days, they will send a sub-contractor to move your vehicle from the current location to up to 5 miles radius and leave your vehicle on a private restricted area. 2- Then they promise you someone else will come within 30 minutes to recover your vehicle to your home address. 3- As soon the first sub-contractor off load your vehicle it is customer responsibility simple as that. None ever will show up. I have witness this on the day when my vehicle broke down. I though it was only me having the problem with RAC, but what I found out while I was waiting for the RAC to recover my vehicle I saw few more RAC customers having the exact same problem, leave them the same area and give them the same promise. I asked one of the RAC customer how long has been waiting with your kids for the RAC patrol and the answer was shocked me 23 hours!!! I don’t know what happen with RAC but defiantly I won’t be renewing my contract with them and will never trust this company again. RAC should be a shame for what they do to them customers.

Been sat at the side of the A74m near Lockerbie for 2hours, keep getting updates saying I will be updated in half an hour, bedn a member for nearly 20 years, digusted

Whilst having a beer on the sea front at exmouth I observed the Rac guy carry out a repair on a vehicle at about 6.00 pm which was no minor task. I don't know what the repair was but it looked pretty intensive, t h e vehicle was jacked up and the windy gun was in full use! fair play glad I'm a Rac member Keep up the good work.

Broke down 12 miles from home front brake calliper stuck on, smoke everywhere and disc very very hot, managed to pull onto a closed garage forcourt, called RAC at 18.00hrs, got text message every 30 mins saying they are extremely busy and will update us in 30mins, we were still waiting at 22.00hrs no sign that they were even close !! Decided to leave the car and get a taxi home, local garage will tow car in , all extra expense, RAC are a useless waste of money, will not be renewing with them !! Be warned...

Broke down on saturday 165 miles away from home, patrol officer comes while i go to shop to get a drink for my daughter and wife. Straight away tries telling my misses that the car was on race track due to bubbles on front tyres. Pfaaa rear wheel drive mate so what you on about? Waited 4 hrs in 32°c for recovery to come and say hes only having the car and im gonna have to wait for a taxi or 2 like it ended up happening as the 1 st one did not wanted to take us without money upfront. Whats worst found out today my warranty got canceled due to some **** ringing diler ship expressing his opinion why i needed recovered without even having a foot to stand on with evidence Charged 250 quid for recovery after having gold membership 🤣🤣 Avoid at all costs

broke down at 9pm on a motorcycle in the middle of nowhere after about 10 phone calls nobody turned up eventually they told me to stop ringing them because they had no vehicles available! they gave me a phone number of a contracter obviously because they could not be bothered.i i waited 6 hrs till 3am is this a record ? i am 64 if it had been in the middle of winter i probably would have frozen to death

Have been waiting since 21:30. For starters I was on hold until almost 22h00, 3 hrs later I get first call asking me how far I am from home as they are extremely busy! They suggest they book book me a taxi home after waiting for 3 hrs! I can’t leave car in street unattended I said I would wait for another hr -90mins as they say thus what it’s gonna take. Am still here since 21.30

Called them at 11am this morning to be told they were busy (this is their standard patter). Now 8pm and no sign of anyone. What a useless company. Still, not as bad as the 12 hours last year. We will be moving to another company at renewal. Lots of calls and texts with apologies but no action. Lies upon lies. Avoid signing with them.

Paid £236 for taxi cover - a month later I wanted to change my vehicle details but was told I had to take out a new cover for it so I lost my money - my advice go else where and read the terms and conditions- I will never use this company again .

RAC is useless than it was before, my car broken down due the clutch slave cylinder plastic snap, I was 9 miles from home. Call on online with GPS to tell them where am I. Had a text message at 11.50am to tell me they are coming in the next 30 minute. At 11.20am text alert said sorry it will be other 30 minute because one of my RAC is fix somebody car few miles away. At 11.55am message alert said sorry another 30 minute we will be there this time. At 12.34am no answer, still not turn up! At 13.06pm message alert said this time we will come round 13.45pm. At 14.15pm no sign of RAC! At 15.11pm my parents had to come help me cos I am deaf I don't know what to do they had to towing me home. My Dad complain on the phone a f****** little girl shout to my dad because we had drove them mad by contact too much! At 5.15pm RAC phone me where are you? I said I am home my mum towed me home you are a useless! I would have wait for over a 5 hours from 9 miles to my home this is not in the countryside it is near the city where the hell are they? not enough staff cos the bulls**t Coronavirus? I pay £87.99 for to be a membership what is the reward absolutely nothing! same with AA not much luck with them. I will try Greenflag and see what happen. I was not expect to wait 5 hours I thought it was round at the least 1 hours. Please don't renew your membership with this con people is robbery your money with no service of rescue you!

Absolutely the worse customer service, if any. I tried for days to find a number to cancel my reservation due to COVID-19 cancellation of my trip. After I finally got my email answered, I was told that someone will get back to me. Few months went by and I heard nothing. Email after email, I was told the same thing without resolution. It is now 7 months and I hear that they won't give refunds. That's un-acceptable. STAY AWAY from this company. There is no telephone number and no-one to talk to...
