Most pathetic service! had text 9.45am, stating 50 minutes arrival time, waited hours, then they call me and say, they can get to me tomorrow! I replied, you get to me by 6pm of there shall be war! they always say they are experiencing high level calls! previous call outs did not arrive for 12 hours, whilst I was stuck in a car freezing overnight! DO NOT USE RAC!!!!!!!

Avoid the RAC at all costs one of their so called partners recovered my car and damaged the steering column during recovery, after several emails asking for an update on what's happening they just never respond, eventually had one guy ring me seemed really helpful but now even he has disappeared no contact numbers to call anyone, worst customer service I have come across absolutely shocking now looking into taking them to the small claims court.

Disgraceful service and communication! Multiple lies told. Our call was logged at 2:20 today, my partner has broken down at the side of the motorway. It’s now 8pm and he’s now SAT in the vehicle, as no collection has been arranged for over 5 hours. We’ve been repeatedly lied to, internal errors apparently and data protection has also been violated. Have a winning spirit– We work hard and are self-motivated to exceed expectations. Act with a servant's heart– We have a passion for making good things happen for all. - this is their apparent mission statement. Appalled to being treated like this and sat here typing knowing the dangers of sitting in a vehicle on the side of a motorway. Shameful service and will obviously be escalated through the appropriate channels in the morning!

After confirming a fault on my car that meant I couldn't tow my caravan and confirming they would rescue the caravan the customer service from this point was awful. My caravan was stranded, they told me after I had made arrangements with the site that it was covered then it wasn't then it was. After many phone calls and many broken promises I found out by accident that a company was taking it to storage, not to my home. I didn't trust the RAC so I got the address. I turned up at the storage facility and it was closed. The recovery agent and my caravan turned up and he said it wasn't his problem he had done his job. If we hadn't been there our caravan would've been left in the street. The RAC think this is ok. They think making repeated expensive phone calls is ok. They think recovering your own caravan is ok.

I'm sorry but I've been left unhappy with my RAC experience on many occasions and their broken promises have left me very frustrated. The RAC makes as much money as possible by providing a cut price and overstretched service that regularly fails its customers by leaving them stranded for many hours and even for several days. The RAC knows that avoiding their responsibilities results in untold chaos and misery. Call centre staff break promises and let motorists down day in day out. 'Customer care' effectively manage this shambles by using complex terms and conditions and a range of 'cut and pasted' excuses to ignore or dismiss any complaint in any circumstance. Sadly. the only 'happy' RAC customer is one who hasn't broken down yet!

My husband has been stranded for nearly 24 hours waiting for RAC breakdown recovery to actually do the job that they are paid to do. He waited in a car park in our broke down vehicle until from 4pm until 3am yesterday evening, whilst waiting to be towed home. He was then told that the RAC could only tow him part of the way and that he would have to be dropped off at a service station to wait for the next tow. The RAC also told him that they were sending him a courtesy car so that he could drive the 2.30hrs back home, later when the car did not arrive at the expected time, RAC informed him that there had been a mistake and his request had been out through to a team that operated only within the hours of 9am-5pm. Thankfully my husband managed to find a safe place to sleep for the rest of the night and then the RAC picked him up at 9am the following morning to tow him part of the way. He was dropped off at the service station with our broken vehicle an hour later and has been sat waiting for a courtesy car since! The RAC then arranged for a courtesy car to be sent to him, he was picked up by enterprise vans on behalf of the RAC to drive ten minutes down the road to collect the courtesy car. The RAC arrived to tow the car to a local garage, to wait until they could arrange a tow the entire way home, whilst my husband was with enterprise vans collecting the courtesy car. The RAC did not wait for my husband to complete the 5 minute drive back to the service station, instead they have left him waiting again. My husband is very patient, however when asking to speak to management about his case he was told that management have a king list of other people to talk to so he would have to wait his turn… what does that say about their services and reputation! This is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable - we all know how busy emergency breakdown cover is, but we pay for a service to get us home… my husband has been waiting to get home now for 24 hours. I will not be using the RAC again, and will be recommending that everyone else looking for reliable breakdown cover goes elsewhere. Please can somebody from the RAC please take some action and do what we pay you for. Date of experience: 20 April 2023

Order a dash cam fitting with RAC. Supposed to be fitted on 02/02/2023. Cable missing. Second fitting, the fitter couldn’t get it to work. Still waiting 19/04/2013. Ring every other day. They promise to phone back. They haven’t, even once. Dozens of emails, no reply. They still have my money.

Avoid this company at all costs. Unfortunately had to have my vehicle recovered by them. When it eventually arrived at my local garage for repair, the handbrake had been totally trashed. Lever bent over and cable snapped. This was documented by the garage. The rac investigation identified that it was in full working order when the first contractor picked up the vehicle, the multiple other contractors involved simply denied they had trashed it, rac denied any liability. If you want your vehicle back in the sane condition you left it, choose a different company.

Sixth day of five working days I got a call to say that it has been picked up and is on the way. They lied. It's still there nearly 24 hours later. It's still not fixed and I have no idea when it will arrive.

I was supposed to be visiting family for a few days in Somerset along with my mum and 13 year old daughter, my clutch suddenly went on a roundabout in Bristol so my mum and myself pushed the car off the roundabout into a slightly safer area. I reported my car as broken down at 1531hrs on Thursday 13th April.  I was told a Recovery Flatbed is going to recover myself the other 2 passengers and my car 200 miles to my local garage where I live, we waited several hours before being told as it's 200 miles away and too far to be recovered I was to leave my car unlocked and the keys in the dash and they will pick it up at 2130 that night to take to a safe lockup and a hire car from Enterprise was arranged for 24 hours to drive us home. We waited until 2130 that night and still my car was not picked up, I had real concerns about leaving it unlocked but I was told again by the RAC that recovery is on its way and should be there in 15 minutes, I began the drive home as I was becoming tired after having been on the road since 11am and it was now 2130, I arrived home at 0130 in the morning (14 hours after first leaving home)  I have phoned RAC a further 21 times since (it's is now Monday 17th April) and not one person has told me when my car is going to be picked up from the side of the road, let alone when it is going to be dropped off at my garage, the car is still unlocked, unsafe and I can't even book into a garage because I don't know when my car is going to be returned and if it is going to be in one piece still, I have had to pay for the fuel for the hire car out of my own pocket, I then had to walk 19 miles altogether to get the hire car back and home again.  I have school runs and work  which I am now unable to do, my mum lives 80 miles from me and now can't get home, and I live in the middle of nowhere so I can't even get to a shop, and still I'm none the wiser as to what is happening with my car. I have been told at least 20 times that my case has been escalated and I am going to be called back from a manager or the Logistics Team, not once in all this time has anybody called me back at all. I have now had to phone my daughters headmaster to tell them I can't get my own child to school as I live in the middle of nowhere with no buses etc and my daughters school is 10 miles away, I have had to call the police to inform them my car is stranded at the side of a housing estate incase somebody reports it as an abandoned car, this is like a living nightmare and I am no closer to getting my car back let alone getting it fixed, I can't even get a courtesy car through my insurance because my car has to be in a garage, but I honestly have absolutely no idea where in the country my car is at the moment, I can only assume it is still where it was left 4 days ago Nobody can give me an answer, and of all the promises of a call back I have not had one, apart from yesterday when an RAC lady phoned me to inform me that the courtesy car was only for 24 hours, which I already knew about as I had already returned the car 2 days before her phone call. Just to top it off, I have been told that if there is any damage to my car, I will be held responsible as I agreed to leave it unlocked and unattended, despite the three promises of it being picked up that night, I had absolutely no choice but to leave it, I had a tired family that I still needed to now drive 200 miles get them back, so all in all an 8 hour drive, and 14 hours in total sat in a car, we'd still be sat there now 4 days later otherwise. After around 30 calls to the RAC and not one return call, finally a lady just now let slip on the phone as to who is now dealing with my car (it is now 18th April 23)not forgetting I have asked this question continuously, she apparently couldn't give me a contact number and acted very sheepishly after she mentioned these contractors name, so I immediately googled them and found they are in Bristol with a 24 hour contact number. A man answered almost immediately and was helpful from the very start, he said my car was only reported yesterday!!!!!! They picked it up yesterday and it's now safe and sound in Sussex near Brighton somewhere, it seems it's all in one piece, they've taken photos, no scratches, no obvious damage and my keys were still in the glove compartment, they will be dropping it off to the garage at some point tomorrow, he was absolutely gobsmacked that the RAC couldn't tell me this themselves, he said that's absolutely rubbish that they don't have their contact number, he said they ring them non-stop, it took a 3 minute phone call for him to tell me literally everything I wanted to know. My car has now been drooped off at the garage, Tuesday 18th April, 5 days after breaking down, what I want to know is why the Logistics company only found out about my car 4 days after it had broken down

Never mind appalling service, I experienced no service at all! I am a lone worker, female aged 66. I was stranded on a remote country road in Wales at 9pm in the dark. When I rang for assistance I was told (twice) that they could not process my request for assistance as I had to go through my insurance company. They then transferred me to Aviva, with whom I am not insured. Who on earth claims for 2 flat tyres on insurance? I am appalled that they thought it was alright to leave a vulnerable woman in the dark in a remote area to fend for herself. I paid for what I thought was roadside assistance and protection-not forthcoming! Do not use them, they simply don’t care. I have now changed my breakdown cover.

VILE, should be shut down. left me my wife and young daughter on the side of the road for 7hrs in freezing February 2023 at night with no updates getting fobbed off every time I phoned. 1am in the morning still no one turned up. Ended up getting towed from a passer by in which I was unsure about but had no option. Have complained via there complaints process, they say they will get back to you within 29 days but as expected, NO RESPONSE Just like their breakdown service. In process with fca to cancel my policy as they won’t let you leave even though they are consistently failing their commitment and policy. Also stealing your money as they are giving the customer no service what so ever. AVOIS AVOID AVOID
