“I ordered multiple puzzles, got shorted four in box which had packing label showing items shipped in two boxes. I decided to call them as numbers didn't match, one box sent with missing puzzles. They said they would ship missing four, got three and then missing one showed out of stock. Called and was told refund check was issued. WHO DOES THAT???? Well two months later and still no check and keep getting told its coming. Finally contacted paypal and got immediate refund from them for missing item. Company then had the nerve to tell me to send check back to them... First it would have to arrive and then they would have to pay for return shipping... never a problem before this but way to much hassle for the amount of money involved. Felt ridiculous calling card company over this amount but it became a principle thin.”
“I ordered from Bits and Pieces and it was a rather unpleasant experience. The problems were similar to most of the other negative reviews. They take forever to ship and customer service is worthless. Also, don’t believe what the catalog says that they don’t charge till they ship. They did ship one item and immediately charged my card for the whole order, even though the rest of the order didn’t ship for weeks. By the time the items arrived, the event was over.”
“Have not heard anything recent from this company regarding the status of my order. Worse still, my charge card that was used to pay for my order was just hacked, and the only non-local purchase was from Bits and Pieces. Could this be related? Has anyone else had this issue with this company??”
“Your puzzles are overpriced and you send me junk emails for sale on puzzles but those prices are only on 300 pieces. I’ve tried to unsubscribe but you’ve set up your website so I can’t. You send me multiple emails every DAY! PLEASE TAKE ME OFF YOUR MAILING LIST. I will never order from you.”
“2 things:
A few years ago I made an order of a few gift items. The package came without one of the items. It came with a checklist and that item was checked off as if it was sent (it wasn’t). Not only did they not send me this item (and I contacted them), but they didn’t reimburse me. Thieves!
I vowed never to purchase from them again, but my grandma bought me two of their puzzles for Christmas and my bday. I hadn’t seen her in awhile bc I’ve been sick, so I just received them last weekend. I opened one during the week, and it had a mangled piece. I contacted them to ask if there was anyway I could replace it (I was even willing to pay), and they told me no, that they were unwilling to help. I haven’t opened the second yet.
My mom has also had bad experiences with them and they are considered a subpar puzzle company in her puzzling group (I’m not a puzzle expert and find them fine though).
Summary: AVOID BITS AND PIECES - POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND MAY STEAL FROM YOU!”
“After finishing with all the pieces in the box, the puzzle had double pieces and missing pieces. The company did not honor the issue since they insisted they needed personal customer information first. A few photos were sent and and I was left with a useless puzzle. ..for breaking the rule of "satisfy the customer" I will never purchase or recommend Bits & Pieces. Horrible experience - disappointed puzzle maker”
“The website states they want us to be 100% satisfied or you may return for refund or replacement. It does NOT make it clear that the customer is responsible for the return shipping like most other websites. I even requested they take the freight out of my refund and issue a return label as the item is large and they have not responded.”
“In 50 years, I have never had a puzzle with duplicate pieces: This one had 2!! There was also 3 missing pieces. Having read the reviews, I see now this is very common for this Company to have missing pieces. I contacted them because it would be nearly impossible to add extra pieces to a puzzle without it done on purpose. I called BP because the 2 duplicate pieces and 3 missing pieces was so egregious, I wanted BP to send me a replacement. I sent a detailed letter as to why I was contacting them, not Amazon.
I advised that while missing puzzle pieces can happen (though clearly BP has very poor QC given how often it happens in your factory), it is impossible to add extra/duplicate pieces to a puzzle unless it is intended. In my case, there were 2 duplicate pieces! I advised that because of the fact that the additional pieces were intended, or the result of gross negligence, I was looking to BP directly, as the manufacturer, for remedy. Simply, I asked that the puzzle they sold be replaced with one without missing or duplicate pieces.
I received a form email that said I should contact Amazon, as that is where I purchased the puzzle. I re-sent the email, and asked them to read it, as I had already explained why I was not contacting Amazon. In response, I received the exact same email.”
“I wish I had checked reviews before placing an order through their website. Very slow to ship and then Canada Post was delayed and to top it off Canada Post now refuses to deliver packages. I ordered a couple of items from Bits and Pieces through Amazon and that experience was vastly different: shipped and delivered to me the next day.”
“Placed order (for Christmas gift) on 11/28/22 and still hasn't shipped on 12/7/22. Online status shows it won't ship until 12/24-12/29! Really?! Called and their customer service sucks. All they would say is that "it will arrive by Christmas". Couldn't provide a ship date. Totally useless.”
“If you can, order your Bits and Pieces puzzle from Amazon. I made the mistake to order direct from www.bitsandpieces.com and the experience was "poor."
First, the 1000 piece puzzle was challenging but fun. But a few of the accessories we also ordered are not what's depicted on their site. Secondly, the shipping charges are too high. And last, receiving the shipment takes too long. And it's not the shipper. BitsAndPieces.com just takes too long to ship.”
