“I purchased grocery from Costco.com using InstaCart. I purchased for $172 and the receipt showed $130 from Costco. Another purchase made for $138 and receipt showed $106. Both these deliveries I got after 5 Days. Only then I realized that I was paying almost 30% delivery charges to InstaCart. On top of that I will not get the 2% cash back from Costco. So I am paying around 32% delivery charges to InstaCart. This is outrageous fee when compared to using InstaCart from Kroger. Since I am not getting the 2% Cash back, I am not going to renew my Costco Membership for $120. I am not rich enough to pay 32% delivery changes and $120 annual membership Card. Kroger is much more cheaper.”
“This is really an issue with Instacart, but Costco is partnered with them. I can order from Costco and get the goods delivered in a few weeks. I was happy to get a 3 day delivery recently. Turns out it was through Instacart on the Costco website. The delivery is touted as free-however the cost is $60.00 in additional fees for delivery on my $250.00 order. I'm 30 minutes into the online contract, and see that the free delivery comes with markups and fees. You need to use Instacart for any fresh produce, so be aware that the delivery through them will bring a markup on all your goods.
Costco should be more transparent regarding this relationship.”
“I placed an order on Costco.com. Before completing I changed the Ship to address. Website even suggested the address with the extra 4 digit zip code. When I received the confirmation the Ship-to address was the old address. I immediately went back to my order and tried to change it within a minute or 2. There were no options to change or cancel. I went to their help where it "says" you can change it within 60 minutes of placing. I even had my husband try to see if I was missing a button or something that would allow me to change or cancel and there was nothing.
I called their customer service line, where you hear 4 separate messages to finally hear that due to the volume of calls they are unable to take my call at this time. I went back to their website and tried the on-line chat. Waited for an hour to get someone who told me they would send a message to their "problem resolution" department and have the order cancelled. I expressed my concern that it would not get cancelled in time. I was told that because deliveries are taking 14 days there would not be a problem. Still concerned I tried to call their customer support 4 more times with the same result.
The next day some of my items shipped. I again called Customer Support, and again message after message and no answer. The only option is online chat and these people cannot do anything to help you. I again waited an hour to have someone tell me "I do see a note that you requested to cancel and it was requested" followed by "I do see some of the items have shipped . . . the resolution team is watching that the items get returned to the sender". To which I asked if they will attempt to deliver because if they do, it will get accepted. Her answer: I don't think they will attempt delivery because a cancellation request was put through. Not a lot of confidence here. . .
I also asked if there was another phone number I could call and actually talk to someone who can make sure the balance of the order does not ship. She gave me the same number I called, told me to have a nice day and disconnected.
Note: while I was waiting the hour to talk to someone online I logged into UPS to see if I could change the delivery address from there as I have signed up to be able to do this where the sender allows it. COSTCO does not allow this, so my only option is to rely on them to make sure it does not get delivered.
Yeah I know you can see where this is going . . . Packages delivered to a location I cannot get to. Keep in mind only the most EXPENSIVE items shipped.
So my suggestion to anyone out there that does not want to wait 14 days to get delivery from Costco, try to cancel your order, it will ship right away.”
“Went to Costco on NE San Jose warehouse to pick up a battery for my 2017 Honda Accord this morning (04/23/2020 around 10:30 am) Asked the associate so I can pick up the right battery for the car. He said that his computer system wont be able to do it, I have to use my smartphone to find out myself. So I just left and bought it from somewhere else. Not sure what the associate is there for? What a service. (My phone was out of battery at the time. He said nothing he can do come back when its charge)

It makes no sense for elderly people to shop at 7 a.m. I have Arthritis and it takes me awhile to get going. I workout daily. This is what you should do. Allow elders and first responders to go in first ahead of the line at all times. You will get old maybe, some don't make it and you will then understand. “WE have always liked Costco, but in a COVID-19 world their service has been terrible. We are waiting for 3 orders, and not have shipped. The oldest is 9 days old. I was #156 yesterday in the Queue, and after waitng 45 minutes the person could tell me nothing. I have emailed them 2 times with no response. We are not sure if they will EVER ship what we have ordered, so I am not sure if I shoulld attempt to buy it all elsewhere. Target.com and Amazon are both doing better in this bad time, at least here in Michigan. “We as a couple had a bad experience as a couple at the Nampa, Idaho Costco. When went to check out they make my spouse and I keep 6 feet or more apart from each other as seniors. We could not hear each other we had separate orders. My spouse and I are disabled but we share the same bed. “Purchasing a dishwasher from Costco.com was the worst decision we could have made. We ordered online and it took multiple weeks to arrive and when it arrived it wasn't working. When we tried to get a different dishwasher, we were told they didn't have another. The dishwasher was installed the beginning of February and they won't pick up the broken one till March 31. They have refused to do anything to make this situation right. I would never recommend purchasing an appliance from them.”

However, I am a family of 6 a few people who have bowel problems and then I also am looking after my grandma and my mother and father inlaw as well as my sister and her family. I had placed my order with Costco about 3-4 days ago they showed toilet paper, napkins, disinfectant wipes a few other items as well. It said I would have my whole order by Friday between 12pm-5pm well my shopper was amazing and sweet and understanding to say the least had to tell me at last minute we will not be getting toilet paper or any of those items I mentioned above and that the store got wiped out and did not bother to take the online orders products aside and just let walk in customers take everything. I called Costco corporate and made a complaint. I feel like they just failed and decided that online orders were no longer important and were screwed. I am extremely disappointed to say the least to think my family and 4 other families I am trying to take care of and many others who are immune compromised or disabled or seniors. We all are basically being told oh well sorry. I'm starting to feel like they are not sorry and they do not care!”

“Beware ordering online and returning in the warehouse~ we ordered a TV on sale delivered with huge cracked screen and since it was a gift opted to exchange right away since delivery took 2 weeks. At the warehouse they said they didn't have any like the TV we ordered but there were 20 in stock then they would not honor the price so we were forced to pay $50 more for our trouble for the exact same TV! Seems like the left hand does not talk to the right hand in this organization at the consumer's expense! Definitely not fair to pay more for the exact TV that took 2 hours of our time to complete. The reason we chose to use Costco online was for the convenience but ended up in worse shape. This is NOT RIGHT.
