A few days ago I visited Oxford Currys PC World to buy a computer. The model I wanted was not in stock but I was told it would be there without fail today, which fitted in (just) with my travelling. I went back and the computer had not arrived.Furthermore, they could not say when it would arrive! After a 15 minute wait, I got my refund and then asked to speak with the Store Manager. After another 10 minute delay, he finally arrived and listened to my complaint. I have never seen anyone so disinterested in what a customer had to say - it was actually rude. The story had a happy ending; I could buy the computer at John Lewis at the same price with a two year guarantee and attentive shop assistants.

Purchased my Samsung Tablet from the store at Longwell Green Bristol and was conned into purchasing the Knowhow Careplan which is a complete waste of money. Had to return it with faulty screen which they sent off to be repaired. Collected to tablet which they claimed had been repaired only to find screen now didn't work at all. The sales assistants are all over you when you are making a purchases but need after sales service and they turn on the attitude and don't want to know. On returning the faulty tablet for the second time I asked for a refund which they refused and referred me to Samsung. They have no Know How and no Care in the careplan - I'll now be without my tablet for another two weeks and despite having paid for the careplan and having to sort out the problem myself. Last time I'll shop at CurrysPC world.

Item delivered 2 weeks late at 3rd attempt. Item arrived covered in dents. Delivery man refused to return item to shop. After spending hours on phone told I had to return to shop to get refund. It took 3 visits to shop before they agreed to collect item and refund price paid. Curry's would only collect when convenient for them. It took 3 attempts before item was collected. Hours wasted waiting in for delivery and collection. Curry's not concerned. Then forced to visit shop again to get refund and it took over 30 minutes for staff to process refund. Half-hearted ologies and derisory offer of compensation. Never again!

Next day delivery didn't happen, no contact, every number leads to the same automated service! Found one number to speak to a rep, rang and rang until the office closed and it just cut off! Customer service is so poor it should be sponsored by a Ugandan kid

Bought a washing machine with installation. Waited a week for installation. Two guys turned up but couldn't install as it needed wiring in but neither of them were qualified yet. Went away again and I am still waiting...

Went to Hull Curry's at St Andrews Quay, got a Manfrotto tripod priced at £49-99, got to the checkout and was £75-99. The tripods had been priced wrongly, lots of confused faces, came away without the tripod. Get it right Curry's and if you get it wrong then have the decency to give items to customers at the price on the product. Staff quick to pounce on you to earn commission when you enter the store, yet confused with mistakes and don't want to get involved

bought a 48 samsung smart tv at 459pounds in currys sale .took it home and tested it.the picture was faulty on all modes .pink hue on screen.immediately took it back. spoke to manageress she said they would need to test it half hour later this guy takes it out of box plugs it in and turns it on. picture has pink hue on screen. manageress has a look at and says oh i will have to phone samsung give me your name address and telephone no.at this point my patience snapped and told her under consumers right act i would lodge small courts claim citing her and currys for refund plus costs.she replied oh give me your credit card and you will get your money.after she gave the refund receipt she said have a look around store see if you fancy anything else. i replied your joking i have been in here nearly onehour and that will be the last time i set foot in currys coatbridge or any other stores of that group.appalling customer sevice.

Avoid buying from here if at all possible. You might be lucky, but if you are unlucky enough to purchase faulty goods the after sales service is appalling. Paid £865 for a computer and was unlucky in that it was faulty from the beginning - microphone did not work. Unfortunately only discovered this on 29th day after purchase, Currys would not replace or refund, but sent it away for repair etc etc. Came back 4 weeks later still faulty and they wanted to send it back again! John Lewis for any electrical purchases from now on.

Phoned currys today to get an engineer out to look at a broken dishwasher. When I told the person on the phone it was ten years old he flatly refused to help 'in case they need to order parts' what! How hard is it to order parts! Alex who answered the phone said 'it's not that we don't want to help we follow strict guidelines and anything over 8 years is not worth it' They didn't even ask what the problem was which is plumbing and may not need any parts. Alex came across as we he didn't want to help and didnt give a dam - so much for customer services. Reading other reviews shows a similar bad track record. Shame on you currys!!

The email i have just sent to customer service. waiting for reply I purchased a lenovo desktop computer in November 2014 from a currys store in Corby (NN17 5DT). Everything was working fine until the back end of last year, October/November time when my computer stopped turning on. I went into the Corby store and they were really helpful and able to send it off without to much hassle. Perfect. Until i got LIED to! When my desktop computer had been returned to store to be collected, i was informed by the person handing me back the computer that it had been unrepairable and therefore was given a brand new computer (same model etc). Around 2 weeks ago, i went to turn my computer on to use it, when it would not turn on, i then smelt burning and realised that my computer was alight inside of it and letting off a lot of sparks and a bit of smoke. Once i had taken the cable out the back and blew the remaining sparks out, i took it into your Corby store to be told that there was no damage to it inside and that the best they could do is send it off and see what the repair man would say. Upon being told this, i told the person serving me that this was a brand new computer (as i had been told) and therefore it would have only been a few months old. I was then informed that infact it was the same computer that i had purchased in November 2014 and the first time i had sent it off it had been repaired. LIE NUMBER 1! I was then sceptical about sending it off as the first time i had sent it off, the repairmen had kept it for around 3 weeks and i had important college work to do which i missed the deadline, which i know isnt at all any ones fault. However after explaining this to the person serving me, i was told in fact that the first time round that it had been sent off to the repairs was from the 1st November 2015 to the 8th November 2015. I know this can not be so because i had other work to complete by the 27th November 2015 which i could not do as i had no computer. LIE NUMBER 2!! I then proceeded to ask for the manager upon speaking to the manager and I was informed by him everything i had said relating to the repair and replacement of my computer was incorrect thereby implying that i was not telling the truth. At this point i had to leave the store as i was getting very annoyed and angry at the fact that i was not being taken seriously! Along with this, i am deeply concerned at the fact that one of your products caught a light and even though there was no damage to anything else or person(s), it could have been a serious incident if i had not detected the sparks and flame straight away. As a customer who spends a lot of money in your stores around the country and encourage people to go to your stores themselves as i had thought that you were a good, caring and good priced company, i am now having seconds thoughts and wondering weather i should take my spending elsewhere.

Had a dishwasher delivered and when unpacked after holiday found the door was damaged although the delivery packaging was not, so this was clearly a manufacturing fault – the dishwasher had been packed with a damaged door. Phoned Currys, got transferred to Beko. Spoke to Beko who said “damaged on delivery” speak to Currys. Phoned Currys and was told to speak to Beko to get “an uplift number”. Phoned Beko who said “damaged on delivery” speak to Currys. I said I had and Beko said tough we won’t help or send an engineer to repair it. Phoned Currys and told to speak to Beko to get “an uplift number” and so explained that Beko refused to help. This is where the problem began. Currys told me I could have an exchange or refund. I wanted an exchange but the dishwasher was out of stock until the following week. I was told they would phone me back to arrange the exchange or I could phone back on the day stock was due in. So one hour of phone calls made, and was left still waiting for a resolution. I phoned back on the date given and was told the following: The person I had spoken to the week before had “misinformed” me. They could see a record of my call, but the notes written by the Currys adviser and the recording of my phone call had been “archived” and irrespective of the offer to exchange or refund the terms and conditions meant that it was now too late to return the dishwasher. I explained that a promise had been made to me. Currys accepted this, but….. the person I had spoken to the week before had “misinformed” me. After another 40 minutes on the phone, Currys refused to help, referring me instead to terms and conditions. Their final offer was to refund 15% of the purchase price and would not accept a return of the item because it was damaged. Reading other reviews I see the “the person you spoke to doesn’t work here anymore” excuse is a common one. Buyer beware, despite being a high street shop Curry’s are not a reputable company. Don’t waste your time and money, unless you are willing to go through the pain of claiming under section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act.

Samsung Washing machine. To know this you would need to spot the small Samsung logo. Only found out when cost for above were added to the invoice.Sales staff only explained whn challenged.

Tom in the Maidstone branch was so helpful. Went out of his way to try and find the camera we wanted and was overall amazingly helpful! Better than the staff at the Medway branch who after stating it was not in stock just walked away.

Will never buy from this store again. Bought Hoover product. After first use their was a burning smell and upon inspection the belt had broken inside so the brushes were not turning. Returned the item to Currys in Croydon and were basically treated like criminals trying to commit a fraud. Although we had the broken belt with us as proof they insisted on taking the machine apart (incase we were lying). They had to call the Hoover manufacturer for an authorisation code, the whole scenario took around 40 minutes. There was no apology. We finally got a refund. Never again....

Ripped off by a Curry's Rentsmart agreement - We paid £1,161 for a £299 washing machine - Rep takes advantage of a new mum - Rep incompetent - We don't own the machine - Appalling customer service I'm very disappointed to report that we have been missold a washing machine rental contract by Curry's. I have only recently reviewed the agreement to find that it is an agreement designed for businesses. We paid £1,161.40 to date to rent a washing machine that costs £299 to buy. My wife had our little boy with her after a difficult child birth. She needed to source a washing machine for our flat, went to Curry's to buy one and was sold a hassle free agreement where we could rent the machine for a fixed monthly sum with a service contract to take away any problems that may arise in the future. The rip off sales rep: When buying the unit the sales representative at the Poole branch was aware of the situation, location of where the machine was needed and by all account took advantage. - Supplied a complex contract for her to sign (knowing that there is no way she will read this with a very young baby by her side!), - failed to highlight a 40% increase of rental rate if we did not provide insurance details - failed to highlight that the deal is designed for a business which she is not - failed to record the details correctly so that the machine could repaired through the aftermarket "Anything Happens" contract. The first time we needed to use the "Anything Happens" service contract we were unable to get the service engineer out because the address on the contract did not match where the machine was located. Spent hours trying to speak to an appalling customer service. I'm sick of dealing with Curry's. After further research this evening I have found a BBC "Your Money Their Tricks" story on this exact method of ripping off customers. After chasing Curry's for a few weeks to get this issue resolved they offered us a sum of money to cover the cost of the remaining contract (£116) but are very happy to leave us ripped off by £862 (to date) and we still would not own this washing machine because it is a rental! There was also no mention of who will pay the cost of returning the machine which by all accounts this could be to Rentsmart in Manchester! This offer was declined as it is a horrible way to fob us off after being missold a very expensive deal to a new mother with a crying 1 month old baby. The matter is being taken further. What a horrible company with nasty people in store and in customer service.

Don't buy washing machine at currys. I went to the Cheltenham store to buy one. I asked to look at the manuals of the machines I was interested so I could look at the wash cycles etc and choose the best washing machine for me. I was told NO we don't put them with the machine _ store policy. How can I choose I asked if I don't know what's best for me. No answer. Any way I left the store. Bought my washing machine from ao.com free delivery, free removal of my old machine and all the information I needed to choose the washing machine best suited to my needs

Moved into a new house with no white goods so needed a fridge-freezer, cooker and washing machine at short notice. Ordered all three from Currys as they claimed that they could be delivered within a couple of days and installed at the same time. Unfortunately when the day came the washing machine was missing (the delivery men didn't know why - turns out it was held up at the warehouse for some reason) and the cooker couldn't be installed as there was no RCD in the kitchen, despite there being power points and the Curry's website claiming that their trained installers would do all the correct wiring, etc. They never asked if there was an RCD and if I had known that would be a problem I would have sorted it in time, or got a gas cooker (as I did in the end). Anyway, I called them and ordered another washer to be delivered next day and for the previous cooker, washer and installation charges to be refunded. Washer arrived next day and was installed and I got another cooker from a local store installed straight away (wish I had contacted them in the first place!). Ten days later it turns out Currys had not refunded me the £90 installation charges so I had to call them again and get the refunded. They were always good on the phone and did refund the money in the end but the whole experience was poor, in that I got one of three goods that I needed at short notice, despite their claims that all three would be delivered and installed, and had to chase them for refunds. I wish I had just used a local hardware store and would not recommend Currys to anyone.

Please don't buy from currys,I I bought a washing machine, and it was installed by them, when I used it for the first time it was making a banging noise and when spinning sounded like a train . I phoned them up and they said it wasn't lenalled at fron, so they did that. Then when I used it a second time, it was still making same noise, so know how cam out again, and said it was the rear not levalled. When I used it again it was still making the noise, so out they came again and then not said it was faulty, and bearings had gone. So the manufacture would have to change me out, so they came out today, and said bearings and drum was faulty. But could not replace it as it was over 28 days old, and because Currys had taken so long t find this out, Currys were responsible. So now Currys are saying they will have not replace or refund my money. Although this was a faulty washing machine when sold to me. And their was their fault not saying this when they first came out to me, so I shall non ever buy anything again from Currys, poor customer service etc. And a broken Washing Washine they say won't replace
