DO NOT BUY A DELL COMPUTER unless you want to spend 3-4 hours 2-3xs per week With a Dell Techincal Support. I have had my computer for 18 months and I have made 20 technical support calls and had 1 technician come out to fix it. But it’s always a temporarily fix since the computer stops working over and over again. I depend on my computer for nursing school, and I have asked for a replacement since month#1, but they refuse to fix it or send me the parts and ALWAYS REFUSE TO REPLACE IT. They prefer to waste my time and theirs trying to fix it, and the only one hurting is me. I had to stop my online nursing degree since I don’t have a working computer. Thank you Dell - for not helping me when I most need it.

I ordered a Dell Inspiron 15 laptop online. Through Dell's online website (Canada) I added to my purchase McAfee Security one-year subscription and Microsoft Office Home and Student 2019. When my laptop arrived, neither of these were activated. A Dell tech agent helped me to activate McAfee without any issues (done over the phone). Hpwever, my experience trying to get Microsoft Office activated was extremely frustrating and negative. I spent over an hour on the phone the first time with a Dell tech agent, and after going around in circles for the whole time, nothing was accomplished. Dell did set up a call back for me a few days later, but I was at work and after another full hour of going in circles without ever seeming to get anywhere I had to disconnect the call (had work responsibilities to attend to). During this second call the agent barely spoke to me, and a lot of the time I was just on hold and nothing was happening on my screen, despite the tech having remote access. Disappointed with the experience and not wanting to spend anymore of my time on the phone with Dell, a number of days later I called Customer Service to get a refund for Microsoft Office. After another 30 or so minutes on the phone this request was declined because Microsoft Office was already connected to my email address - even though it still had never been activated on my computer. The Customer service rep was polite and sympathetic of my issue, but said that I had to activate my Microsoft Office through Microsoft. I love my laptop, but I strongly advise against bundling any extra products with your purchase. I spent $200 on Microsoft Office and it is not on my computer. Basically gave that money away to Dell.

We contacted them about a server configuration we were interested in. They changed the configuration promising it will work for us. We made the payment. They said they will send manuals and invoices. But they never did. They simply shipped the server. We later figured that it won't fit our need. When we contacted them over refund on the software licenses, they never returned email responses. We tried reaching them again and again, finally got their callback. They said their return policy was 30 day and the time was up. We never received any return policy and not even an invoice. We filed dispute with our bank. Dell forged their invoice to show return policy on the first page and closed our dispute. Our bank won't help. We are entering a big litigation with Dell Enterprise over $25,000USD and all damages that caused us.

I spent an hour on the phone with a Dell rep perfecting a computer tailored for me >$2500. It took 6 weeks to arrive. Apparently I hadn't specifically asked for it to be able to connect to wi-fi, so it couldn't. Who buys a computer that's not wi-fi compatible. Just awful. And then stayed on line over 30 minutes to speak with a rep.

I bought an XPS 17 and a bunch of other things from dell website. They completely screwed up the order and send me an email that it was canceled because it was duplicate. I had to spend over an hour with incompetent support team to sort things out and the mistake was completely on their end. When I placed the order 2 weeks ago it said it would take 1-2 weeks to ship, but now they moved it to August, 2 months after I placed the order. I highly recommend going with a different company and save yourself the headache. If I knew how incompetent and unreliable Dell would be I would have never given them my business.

Dell has the worst customer service in the universe. my lcd screen cracked after 1 month and I understood it wasn't under warranty. but i spent 15 hours just to find out were to send to repair. Five people disconnected me. The voice recognition doesn't recognize voice of numbers or office vs home and they kept giving me the wrong numbers. If I had know before spending 5 hours I would have smashed it with a hammers.

I was just wondering if you have ever heard of customer support? I will be canceling my order since I can't get any info. on my order. It was suppose to be shipped here by today and get a e-mail stating that it would be 2 months till it would be shipped. What a joke. You waited to the day that it was to be delivered and then send a e-mail saying it would be 2 months. I have always heard that dell had award winning customer care. What has happen? A very unhappy Ex-Dell customer. Good luck staying in business you will need it!!!!!!!!!

ONE STAR TOO MANY!!!! DOES MINUS 10 STARS COUNT? EXTREMELY poor experienceS with Dell!!! Amazingly enough the problems did not show up until the 30-day return policy expired. Purchased 2 laptops on the same day. Got 1, then a month-and-a-half later got the other. The second one had to be returned because it died trying to load Windows 10 (should have been my first clue). But I exchanged it for another (silly me). I have had to do complete clean-reinstalls of Windows 10 FOUR times on the 2nd and TWO times on the 1st. I have made about 30 or more calls in to Dell for remote access help. I do not remember how many times I called and asked questions and completed the repairs by myself. They ALWAYS treat me (perhaps all who call in) as if it were the first time and I could barely figure out how to open the box to get the computer out. If they looked at how many times I’ve called in, they would know that I know how to do remote access. I have been trying to get them to reverse a billing/ invoice charge (albeit small) for their mess up. January of 2019, I called in to buy an extended warranty on these two losers. I told them that since they did not have facilities near me and I did not want to mail in laptops if repairs were needed after remote diagnostics, I would buy the ‘Premium’ support (so that the tech would come & do repairs). They issued 2 warranties for MAIL IN AFTER REMOTE DIAGNOSTICS. When I got the emails with the notations, I called and the apologized, cancelled the incorrect warranty and then issued the correct warranties. NOW in June 2020, I get an invoice for a 1-month charge. Invoice date is 6/4/2020 but for JANUARY 17, 2019. No reason other than they think they can get away with it. I called and after an hour-and-a-half of waiting and explaining (3-4 times to 1 person) what my problem was, they decided that I needed to tell someone else, so they transferred me. I explained again, they researched and stated that I should not have been charged and to not pay the bill. Good luck with that!!! Once a credit card gets notice of payment request, they have to let it process, THEN I can dispute it. I have told them that Dell stated that I could stop the payment and they said that they could not – but let it go to dispute. Today I tried to get Dell Warranty Department to discuss with them in the hopes of them issuing a credit to reverse this and I kept getting passed around. Each time I said I want to talk with someone about the warranty problem, I would get “TECH SUPPORT”. I mentioned to each person that I was looking to speak with someone about warranty and NOT TECH SUPPORT. They apologized and then I got tech support AGAIN. This company has no warranty department phone numbers listed on their website. They do not make good working equipment. After having these 2 computers for approximately 1 year, I tried to see if I could use their “Buy Back Program” to return these. The model numbers for my laptops was not even listed. That tells you how bad these are. If I could turn back the clock to BDP (before Dell purchase), I would. I would buy any other laptop out there. When I have reported problems to Dell after a service/ tech support request, they want to talk. I write on the email my problems and I tell them to address the issues in writing and I do not hear back or they call, I tell them that I want it in writing and then I do not hear back. They do not want to put it in writing because then they cannot say “we didn’t say that” or “that’s not what we meant”. You also do not have recourse to notify Better Business Bureau with direct quotes. This is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. There are only 2 or 3 bad companies I have ever dealt with in my lifetime. I would NOT recommend them for anything.

Dell does not care, do not order anything from them. I ordered a £1,700 laptop which didn’t arrive. I am now faced with dealing with a call centre in India, and have now been told to deal with the police. Such a rubbish company, with no support, or customer care. I will never deal with this company again, so be warned.

My review is not with regards to quality of product, as I find Dell's products to be quite good. It is with regards to how ridiculously bad a company can be run, presumably as a result of MBA's designing the functions, policies, processes and procedures of the company. Lat fall, I bought several micro computers for the checkouts stands at our business. They run great, and attach to the backs of the monitors, which eliminates clutter. And we used Dell Business Credit to buy those. I ordered 2 more computers just last week, an d yesterday went online and "bought" a UPS for our server. I couldn't get the transaction to go through, and was told I didn't have an account, even though I could provide info on that account. They suggested I set up another account. I suggested that that made no sense, and discontinued the chat. A "manager" called, and through his thick accent I was able to ascertain that Dell has two channels, business and home, to provide the "convenience" for their customer. Since when is it convenient to spend 45 minutes on a support call and get no answers other than the suggestion to open another finance account? What would be convenient would be to have the product I ordered shipped on the finance account I already have. It's only a $500 sale they lost, as I'm going to buy elsewhere, but how many times in a week does this occur. I understand what they are up to here. These are two entirely different businesses dressed up as one, and the MBA's are too clever by half.

I purchased a Dell G3 for my son six months ago, After four months of light use it refused to turn on. I returned the laptop to Currys under their warranty but they returned it as they claimed it was caused by water ingress, however a local pc repairer could find no evidence. I then arranged an out of warranty repair with them and was quoted £400 for a new screen and keyboard however after they had the laptop for almost two months it was returned unrepaired because they could not source the parts. I am surprised that a laptop that is still on sale at the present moment is no longer supported, is this even legal?? I understand during the current climate that production is delayed however I made it expressly clear that I was prepared to wait for as long as it would take. My son now has to complete all of his home schooling during this pandemic on a ten inch tablet. Very dissapointed.

Be Careful buying Dell service contract and products I bought a Dell Laptop and am having issues with the company. Oddly they are accusing me of fraud as to how the computer was paid. They say I opened an account with them and have never paid for the computer. Each time I send them the proof that I paid for it by using my Visa, they will not listen. Plus they with not confirm who or how the account was open. I’ve tried calling their customer care many times, only to find out it’s closed.

I want to start with saying my first Dell purchase in 2008 was amazing! I cannot say enough good things about the computer, purchase and support. My computer was at the end of it's life. I had such great support with my initial purchase, I decided to purchase another Dell. I needed a laptop for home use. I worked with Sales Support to identify a product. Support suggested the G7 Gaming computer. I ordered a 17", I received a 15". Because, it was critical to get a computer up and running, I called and was/am supposed to get a $100.00 credit for the error. I loaded my programs. Purchased by me. As I was using the computer I noticed I could not see the keyboard due to the back light color. Simple fix, nope. After roughly 8 hours or ore of tech support and personal troubleshooting I found out the G7 7590 has different keyboard back lighting options, which were never mentioned. Using the Alienware option noted on You-Tube to fix the problem is not usable. I now have to return the computer and start over. I am guessing it won't be a Dell. Customer service and sales support are horrible. Tech support tried, but no solution. You cannot get ahold of corporate, you are bounced to their off shore location with no resolution. I don't know why a company that was once a well respected company wants to let go of an excellent product platform. Maybe someone from corporate will comment on this question?

I spent almost $2,000 on an XPS desktop. I had the impression that Dell had improved over the years. THEY HAVE NOT. The computer has been nothing but trouble. First it had to be returned for repair because it would no longer boot up. I live in Mexico so I was without it for 3 months while it was being repaired in the US. Then the Bluetooth and sound systems completely went out. I will NEVER buy another Dell Product. To boot, their Technical Assistant phone line is closed on week-ends. Really? Unbelievable.
