“DID Mountjoy Square has been providing for all our needs in electrical equipment for almost 50 years. When I went along 2 days ago, expecting more of their wonderful service, I felt so sad to see it closed. I'm still feeling a great sense of loss.
Even though it must have been an inconvenient building to work in, it carried a great stock and the staff throughout those years were amazingly kind, helpful and courteous, each with an interest in helping, explaining and providing for our particular need at the time. I wish I could remember the names of all of those with whom we dealt but from the newest, most junior member of the staff to those in more senior positions, the standard of excellence was consistent. We remember Joe from the earlier years and Pete who has been so helpful over more recent years. In sending gratitude for their care and service I send warmest wishes for their well-being and happiness wherever they go. They deserve the best.

“lack of communication. We went to DID to purchase a Xtra large capacity Washer and dryer so we could wash our king size comforters-duvets, blankets. First off, we were told a delivery date, waited all day, then called and was told no - not today. Dryer didn't come in, we are trying to find out , no word then suddenly got a text that a machine was being delivered in an hour! An HOURS notice, then was told by delivery people it was just the dryer? Did DID communicate - NO. Again I had to call, and was promismed again that they were trying to find out what was going on and trying to locate a large dryer for me. There is absolutely NO COMMUNICATION. You as a customer are left hanging and wondering? Washing machine was delivered and being I was in such a bad mood, that was it. It would seem that the customers time is not importang.”

I am warning everyone who wants to buy from them online with the option to pay later using Humm. I bought a dryer from them, I chose the option to pay later using Humm. Unfortunately, the dryer was not delivered because it was suddenly out of stock. They wrote that they would refund the money and I thought that was the end of it.
Unfortunately, Humm has been charging installments since November for something that I do not have. Humm wrote that they have no record that the transaction was canceled. I sent an email to DID Electric, the gentleman said that he would check and get back to me. Unfortunately, until now there is silence. I called DID customer service, unfortunately no one answers. I went to DID in Kilkenny, the gentleman said that he could not do anything because the order was online and so since November I have been paying installments for a dryer that I never received.”
“I bought a washer/ dryer I the Crumlin branch on mom. Last. I had been away with my daughter over Christmas. We came back with a pile of dirty clothes my machine was broken. I knew there was no point having it repaired. So I went to D. I.D. Crumlin. Today is Friday and I was promised it would be delivered today the. Delivery driver was very ignorant to me. I was gifted a Nextbase 522GW. I’m not impressed by the video quality, WiFi connection nor the touchscreen responsiveness. Daytime playback is blurry, you’d be lucky to make out the make of car let alone a number plate until you are on top of it. Night time is considerably worse. If Nextbase is considered one of the best on the market then dashcams need a major overhaul. Don’t waste your money.”

“I am having a bad experience with DID at the moment. I bought a gas cooker on Saturday and when the registered gas installer called to install it he discovered that the cooker was damaged, the glass gone off both the oven door and the grill door, one of the gas tops missing ofc the top, the back bent, badly scraped. The cooker will be replaced and was to be delivered today. So far it has not arrived. I rang twice inquiring about the delivery and am still waiting to find out what time it will be delivered. I feel I am being fobbed off. I have shopped in this store a few times but after this experience never again.”
“Bough an oven on Tuesday and received it sat as requested. The driver Christy was extremely professional and helpful and gave clear arrival timelines. He removed the old oven and as well as the packaging from the new. 10 out of 10 for the service. I am happy to recommend and will shop there again.

“Purchased a Toshiba 50in smart tv November 2022 tv screen started failing 6 weeks ago colored lines on bottom of screen. Failed completely 4 weeks ago. Rang customer service twice 10 and 23 September waiting on the phone for forty mins each time. CS guy was to contact his manager and Toshiba. first told me only 12months guarantee. told him EU COSTUMER PROTECTION DIRECTIVE 2019/771 states minimum 2 year cover on all goods sold in the EU. he then said he was sending an EMAIL straight away to the Toshiba guy. got no emails or answers from him since. Phoned yesterday holding tor 30 to 40 mins no answer DID electrical customer service just want to fob you off and hope you get fed up trying to contact them and just give up.”
“Repair Bought a laptop 10 months ago, battery went and I brought it back for them to repair it under warranty. No contact from them and they have it 10 days up to now. Contact them today and they said they will not have it back for another 28 days. The one and only time I will go to that shop or any DID is to pick up my laptop after a 6 weeks. Beware stay away.”

“If I could leave no stars that would be my choice. I bought a Sony TV in June 2022 and 4 months ago it developed a white line on the bottom of the screen which I didn't bother about, however I now have 2 lines and another halfway up the screen. I contacted Mountjoy Sq and told they would contact AIG as I paid for an extended warranty and I would be contacted the following day but heard nothing. This week I called the call centre and spoke to a person who really had no interest but said I would hear by end of business, again nothing. I called into Artane yesterday and gave my complaint and was assured I would hear by "end of business" again nothing so I will be back there today. A useless company who are happy to take you money but don't want to take care of business. Never again!”

“bought a Samsung TV in June 24. There was already an issue after setting up the TV. I went to the shop in Malahide road and asked if can return it because there. seems to be a fault. I was told return isn't possible, mentioning the terms and conditions. I've never informed about it when I purchased the item. They would be prepared to log a case for me- thy just need my serial number. I send the number a couple of time, just to be told this number is not recognised by Samsung (the details were taken directly from inside the TV info) . Went back today with another issue. Had a little argument with sales person, when I asked to log a case for me. He told me he doesn't know when he can do it, because he might be busy. I asked what would happen if the TV can't be repaired. Would I get a refund? No - it's not DID policy, only a credit note for further purchase. Non of all that have been told me when I bought the TV. Finally they logged a case for me- the TV will be collected next week for check up. Samsung already did a remote check up, result: something wrong with the TV. Thanks to DID policy and no courtesy, I spend hours to resolve issues, and will be without TV for at least 7 days. DID hasn't any influence on this? They are a big Samsung customer. Never again DID”
“The worst customer service I have EVER encountered was from DID electrical Briarhill Galway. Bought 3 large items a few weeks ago, delivery was a nightmare, items arrived separately and none on the day scheduled. One item needed installation and I called to shop on a Tuesday and was told installation guy would be with me on the following Thursday. Thursday came, no call came as promised. I rang and was told I was definitely on his list to call. Late afternoon I called the shop again and was told again I was on list for call. He never arrived and neither he nor the shop made contact since. I eventually got a 3rd party to carry out the work required.
I will never step inside DID again and would advise others to steer clear.”
