I arranged through CarDelMar to rent a car from Easirent at Edinburgh Airport. I was emailed to inform me of what documents to bring: passport, credit card, confirmation voucher, driving licence. But on arrival at Easirent at Edinburgh airport, they informed me that as I was a UK resident that I needed to provide a paper copy of 2nd proof of address. Online email bills from Amazon etc weren't acceptable.... I didn't have 2nd proof of address so they would not rent me a car. I had a holiday planned, with numerous accommodations tours activities that would not have been possible without a car. More than this I found their attitude and customer service appalling. Before I even learnt of this need of 2nd proof of address the gentleman behind the desk spoke to me without looking at me, then proceeded to get irate with an abusive customer on the phone, then the second employee who informed me of this policy offered no means of help or sympathy or assistance, despite being very aware of my predicament and the appearance that my holiday was disintegrating very quickly. They also told me that no other car rental company would rent me a car in Edinburgh without this second proof of address. The next car company I went to was Europcar who hired me a car without needing 2nd proof of address and at a much more expensive cost!! I have since re-read all the information I was sent prior to beginning my holiday and can find nowhere where I was told to bring this proof with me.

This is not a respectable car rental company. They are a scam! If you have booked and prepaid, they will try to avoid giving you a car on the day (for any possible reason) and refuse to refund you, and if you end up taking a car from them they will rip you off upon returning it. Although they may seem cheaper when you search online, when you turn up to collect the car you end up paying for the fuel and authorising £1250 on your credit card or paying for no excess, and things just add up. Employees are rude and seem more of a rough aggressive bunch than "professionals"! I have rented cars many, many times in the UK and around the world, from companies like (Sixt, Enterprise, ...) and I've never had any issues. I made a MISTAKE and decided to try Easirent Edinburgh Airport. Their office was not with the rest in the car rental centre at the airport, it was a shed in a parking lot 10mins bus ride away from the airport. I had my passport, 2 proofs of address, a credit card, a debit card, an international driving license (in English), and a prepaid booking. Despite that, when I got there they refused to give me a car (small automatic) because my license does not detail any "restrictions". This is the same driving license I've always used everywhere else. And when I asked for a refund, he said he cannot guarantee anything and advised me to e-mail customer.services@easirent, which I did 9 days ago and no reply. I was not the only unhappy customer in the office that day, everyone seemed to have a problem. They cost me a lot of time, effort, and money. A total inconvenience. AVOID AT ANY COST

The worst car renting experience ever! The staff in Crown Plaza, Birmingham is so rude and unhelpful. He is so unprofessional and he pretended not to be able to read the driving license that has Alphabet on it! What a shame!!! The service extremely sucks. Better to stay away from Easirent because it is NOT EASY to RENT AT ALL.

I saw Easirent had deducted money from my account after I had returned the vehicle. I called to request an explanation which they couldn't give so they referred me to their fines department who said I had a fine. They could not give me any details of this fine so asked me to email them. I was then told this was taken Out by error. It took me over a month to get my money back and they were all very rude the entire process. Stay away from this company

I had called to inform the company I had a fire at my property. Therefore I had no utility bills to produce. I was told it was not a problem as long as I had my driving licence and credit cards. Which I did. I then arrived at the airport. I was told to wait at bus stop 3. Which I did for 40 minutes. Apparently it's bus stop 8. Eventually had to get a taxi to the off airport site. Waited for 40 minutes as all the staff were chatting to themselves about their trivial lives. Not one person asked if they could help. After a while I said can anyone help please. There was a huge line of customers waiting. Then told as I didn't have the utility bills my reservation was cancelled. I relayed that the head office had instructed me that this was ok. I was then told I would not be getting my vehicle. After then calling head office I was told to leave the premises and email to get a refund. Also I won't get a car from the airport as nobody will issue one without the utility bills. I arrived at the airport car rental centre and 4 companies told me the same thing. They have clients every day of the week arriving as they have been shafted by easirent. They gave me a car without the utility bills. I was offered the same from every company on site. But was trying to get a cheaper price. I then called easirent to get a refund. And was informed that my booking had been cancelled and no refund would be issued. The staff were rude and unhelpful. It may look like a budget company. But do yourself a favour. Do not book because they are a few pounds cheaper. Or I guarantee, you will regret it. Book a company inside the airport. Save yourself the aggravation. Read up on the reviews. I wish j had.

Agreement No: 525638 Easirent Car Hire Heathrow ARE FRAUDULENT. ***Advance warning do not rent from them*** We hired from them from the 19th of June till the 29th of June 2016 and they came up as the cheapest price of £19.95. Upon returning the car on the 29th of June, the man went round and look around the car (Cactus, reg no is LB15 NUA) and said everything was okay. Next thing he said the car had scratches and a dent to the car and on my record they said no scratches. I requested to see the report from the last hire and this clearly said it had scratches, so not sure what is going on here. They attract customers to cheap rental and then charge you ridiculous prices for nothing. They are now charges us £250 for this and have requested we contact customer services if not happy. This is a fraudulent company and not sure why Sheraton allow them be situated in their building.

This is the most terrible and humiliating experience in our life. We booked Ford Focus Estate and they gave us much smaller car which could not fit the 5 of us with 2 medium luggage and 2 small luggage. The customer service called Danny is a crazy guy which is totally rude. He forced us to take the insurance which costs £18/day. And he got mad when we said we didn't need it because we were fully covered by travel insurance. When we said we would consider to cancel if they could not provide the car that we booked, he immediately typed at the computer and said with very rude manner: done, it was canceled and no refund for last minute cancelation. After arguing we ended up with small car and paying extra insurance coverage £18/day. We spent almost 2 hours at their small office for the whole process and ended up late to pick up our niece at the airport. This company try to attract you with cheap rental fee, but then force you to take the insurance which cost you as much as the rental fee. They also charged £9/day for GPS. So, you would pay much higher than other big brand car rental, and you will be served by the most rude customer service in the world. I wonder how these people can be hired at this service industry.

Poor Customer Service. We had used Easirent Car Hire for our stay in Scotland and never again we will use their services. From beginning to end, very unhappy with their service. We had sent a written complaint and despite their 7 working days policy for answering, we had not received any acknowledgement after 14 days although we had sent a reminder too. Poor Customer Service.

Terrible service, I arrived early, but they were faffing around and made me wait 1 hour before providing me with a car - AND THERE WASN'T ANY CUSTOMER! Found it on a search engine, and paid for the excess. However, they wanted a credit card - and I only had a debit card (UK), and had to pay additional excess because I had to without a credit card. The car was dirty, as I found food wrappers in glove compartments too. Disgusted with service and quality. AVOID #easirent #carrental

BROKE DOWN AFTER 5 MINUTES & NO RESPONSE FROM EMERGENCY NUMBERS *stuff nightmares made of *my opinion= avoid. NOT OPEN UNTIL 00.30 AS ADVERTISED & EMERGENCY NUMBER IS OFFICE HOURS ONLY. Best thing about Easirent is their marketing dept which dupes you into believing the are a bigger company up there with the big guns like avis, budget etc when they are really just a family run outfit with no will or capacity to resolve a serious issue should one arise as it did in my case. See pic, that customer charter is most definitely not put into practice just empty words as i have come to find out. I too had dealings with Customer service manager Claire & Chris with the latter being the most abrasive, obstructive person i have ever spoken to working in this field & the manager was no better then again they are probably brother & sister so well accustomed to displays of camaraderie, perhaps they should put their skills to use & find employment in debt collection where their attitude would be more fitting. I had a legitimate complaint due to Easirent negating to provide a duty of care as outlined in the BVRLA charter, yet they treated me like some sort of free loader even though i was out of pocket due to the breakdown & only asked for a refund of this amount nothing more even though experience ruined the special occasion. Basically car broke down after five minutes, rang branch no answer, rang emergency number provided countless times no answer. frantic after half an hour of redialing in unfamiliar city with disabled son (had disabled badge with me so manager knew that i had 2 vulnerable people as my elderly mother was in car too). had to ring police to ask for assistance as broke down on redlines. no staff from easirent came to aid . got taxi to branch & even though office hours states 00.30 it was closed at 10.50. an airparks staff member had the branch managers private number & she rang him, unbelievably he still did not return. he asked her to give us the keys of an out of hours return car that was unprocessed, dirty & empty of fuel by which time it was now at 1.30 am. eventually got to the hotel nr 3am just 4 hour sleep before cadburys world which the birthday treat was spoiled tiredness from previous night impacting on my sons mood. anyhow following day expected easirent to ring & apologise & make arrangements to swap vehicle for a clean one & category that i had paid for. no call! i rang was told to keep the car i had & i would be refunded for all out of pocket expenses. monday upon dropping off vehicle this is not the case! apparently head office deal with refunds. email head office & customer service manager with evidence of phone calls, scan of documents with emergency, number & where it states vehicle was diesel when in fact it was unleaded! disable badge. got vague response basically blaming me for not ringing emergency number which i proved i had! i emailed again & then again to ceo no further response so unfortunately its now going to the bvrla which 'easirent' is proud to be affiliated with to act invoke conciliation service or small claims if necessary as aside from the absolute duress of this awful experience i am financially out of pocket & evidently easirent do not have the capacity to be a responsible company with a duty of care which they did not provide the night their vehicle broke down not a single gram of care was given! from one end of the company to the other, which i am assuming is small (family run?) as the bigger reputable car hire companies would not conduct business this way. the bvrla which easirent 'prides itself' on being affiliated to, outlines a duty of care code that was not adhered to. only contact threats on twitter to block me if i continued posting on their page! just want people to know what they are letting themselves in for. ps in the name of fairness & balance i should though have mentioned their redress which was an offer of 10 % off next rental with easirent (& it wasn't even april 1st when i received it!) I would rather walk from Birmingham to London with nails in my shoes than go anywhere near this bunch again. Seriously worst customer service ever. Perhaps rather than spending time threatening to block me on twitter if i post again regarding the woeful experience & chasing any negative reviews to put a damage limitation comment they should actually redress a problem of their making. Guided by no ethics thats for sure. Company preservation comes at all costs! theres a thought! #complacency

The worst customer service i have ever experienced. They are a disgrace to the industry. When i went to pick up the vehicle, they did not have the one i reserved. But they did have an automatic, which i had to pay extra for. I paid the upgrade for the Automatic Vehicle, but when I got in the car I discovered it was a manual! The agent at the LHR Branch promised to deliver an Automatic vehicle to my house that evening, and no vehicle turned up. When I returned the vehicle, I complained, and the gentleman at LHR Easirent apologised, and said that he would refund what i paid for the upgrade (£40). He wrote this on my Rental Agreement (An official Easirent document) which i have a copy of. After calling their customer service department numerous times to enquire about the status of my refund, they have said that they will not pay me the refund I am due, as there employee at LHR made a mistake! The gentleman I spoke to from there Customer Services team was someone called Chris - A very rude & unprofessional individual. Their Head of Customer Services (a lady called Claire) has promised to call me back on countless occasions, but no-one calls. Appalling. The fact that she is 'Head of Customer Services' is a contradiction in itself as she, and the company she works for do not know the meaning of 'Customer Service' I will never ever hire from Easirent again.

Con artists, scammers, bullies, and a major rip off operation. Ordered through AutoEurope online but I believe they are a cover for Easirent.com. I specifically ordered a larger car because of the amount of luggage we were going to be traveling with. When we got there they had no car for us but assured me they had one that would accommodate our needs. After an hour they finally said our car was ready. There it was, a car barely big enough to fit two adults much less our luggage. When I raised a major stink in their lobby the guy told me "it's not my fault I'm only the driver". Had to get very obnoxious to get them to agree to the car I had reserved. Another hour went by and still no car. Finally got one as it was returned from the previous customer after 2 1/2 hours. They told me the entire time it was being prepared when there was nothing there. If the guy that returned the car hadn't come in we'd probably still be there. There were four other families going through the same thing as us in the lobby and some still didn't have a car when we left.

Left waiting outside at a petrol station at E.M.A whilst the "shuttle" came to collect me some 45 minutes later.. guy got out reeking of weed and stale cigarretes no sorry or appology he didnt even load the bags into the "shuttle"(or unloaded at the other end)... never explained they were 5+minutes off site.. then hit me with all the crappy charges (made it nearly 4 times the original cost)when your stuck in a tiny shed (office). I explained i didnt want to pay for fuel or need loads of extras adding on to which he really turned quiet rude. I cancelled the booking and booked a taxi back to e.m.a at my own expense. I asked to speak to a manager to be told "i am... its up to you to read your terms init",whilst waiting for the taxi he came outside on his phone telling whoever that "some customers just wasted my time" lighting up a cigarrete and generally blowing smoke in our direction. Truly awful from start to finish. Use only if you like weed smoking, rude and ignorant staff. Hertz sorted me out at a third of the cost without the agro.

Avoid. Don't be taken in with low initial cost. Lots of hidden costs / heavy pressure selling of their insurance / unwilling to accept debit card / forced to take their insurance if no credit card / stick with known national suppliers - easi rent AVOID at all cost.

Exorbitant insurance rates almost quadruple hire cost Whilst the staff are friendly and helpful the same can't be said for the company and their policies. I couldn't remember the pin for my credit card and was told that I would have to take easirents insurance. The hire cost was £29, a little bit cheaper than the bigger companies so I decided to give them a try. I had rented a few weeks earlier with europcar and they had quite happily accepted my debit card for the holding deposit. The easirent staff informed me that they weren't willing to accept a debit card deposit and they would require £75 insurance fee for the 36 hour rental. My first and last experience with easirent in future I will stick with europcar

I cannot emphasise enough how unsatisfactory the experience of renting from Easirent was. I feel stupid for having fallen for the low headline costs of the deal (£85 for an estate car for 3 days). Our final bill was more than £300, including £145 when we returned the car (which was also smaller than the one I had booked) for a "new" scratch miraculously discovered on return. Other charges / revenue-generating opportunities include £25 for fuel (please return empty - always a way to make more money), additional driver charges and excess-reduction payments. Not only that Easirent (presumably named ironically) required not only not one but two proofs of address but a DVLA check code to prove that your driving licence is valid. The process of retrieving that requires a national insurance number as well as a driving licence number. And then once you get to the airport, you have to take a bus to reach the portable cabin that is the Easirent office. Never again. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

We had booked and paid an Easirent car with Rentalcars including the comprehensive insurance. At the car pick-up we were suppose to deposit £ 1 250 with a credit card. Surprise, our French Visa was not accepted as they claimed it is a cash card and not a credit card. We have no other card and our bank tell us it is the only type they provide. Strangely enough on two earlier rental occasions with Rentalcars, but not Easirent, we never had such problem. The consequence was that Easirent threatened not to give us a car if we did not pay £ 90, more than the total we had already paid, for their full cover. On top of that now we have a problem trying to recover the 45 € we had paid Rentalcars for their full cover, on the ground that we knew we needed a credit card. To us these companies are simply crooks.
