Avoid. Don't be taken in with low initial cost. Lots of hidden costs / heavy pressure selling of their insurance / unwilling to accept debit card / forced to take their insurance if no credit card / stick with known national suppliers - easi rent AVOID at all cost.

Exorbitant insurance rates almost quadruple hire cost Whilst the staff are friendly and helpful the same can't be said for the company and their policies. I couldn't remember the pin for my credit card and was told that I would have to take easirents insurance. The hire cost was £29, a little bit cheaper than the bigger companies so I decided to give them a try. I had rented a few weeks earlier with europcar and they had quite happily accepted my debit card for the holding deposit. The easirent staff informed me that they weren't willing to accept a debit card deposit and they would require £75 insurance fee for the 36 hour rental. My first and last experience with easirent in future I will stick with europcar

I cannot emphasise enough how unsatisfactory the experience of renting from Easirent was. I feel stupid for having fallen for the low headline costs of the deal (£85 for an estate car for 3 days). Our final bill was more than £300, including £145 when we returned the car (which was also smaller than the one I had booked) for a "new" scratch miraculously discovered on return. Other charges / revenue-generating opportunities include £25 for fuel (please return empty - always a way to make more money), additional driver charges and excess-reduction payments. Not only that Easirent (presumably named ironically) required not only not one but two proofs of address but a DVLA check code to prove that your driving licence is valid. The process of retrieving that requires a national insurance number as well as a driving licence number. And then once you get to the airport, you have to take a bus to reach the portable cabin that is the Easirent office. Never again. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

We had booked and paid an Easirent car with Rentalcars including the comprehensive insurance. At the car pick-up we were suppose to deposit £ 1 250 with a credit card. Surprise, our French Visa was not accepted as they claimed it is a cash card and not a credit card. We have no other card and our bank tell us it is the only type they provide. Strangely enough on two earlier rental occasions with Rentalcars, but not Easirent, we never had such problem. The consequence was that Easirent threatened not to give us a car if we did not pay £ 90, more than the total we had already paid, for their full cover. On top of that now we have a problem trying to recover the 45 € we had paid Rentalcars for their full cover, on the ground that we knew we needed a credit card. To us these companies are simply crooks.

By far my worst car hire experience ever, from someone with scores of previous hires to compare with. - I was not told which car I had hired on arrival. Just presented with a list of cars all of which turned out to be upgrades. - There is no "full to full" fuel service, I was told I had to buy £30 of fuel from the rental firm and bring back empty (I hate doing empty returns). - Having waited almost an hour for my car to be retrieved I was in the car ready to leave when the rep came out and told me it was "D-Fleet" meaning it was not in service and I would have to take another car - I was given what looked like a lower spec (petrol Kia Sportage as opposed to diesel and good internal spec + satnav Qashqai) , certainly not the upgrade car I actually wanted, and was told they could swap the paperwork. I was so late for work at this stage I just wanted to take a car and go and simply didn't have the time to argue my corner further - Whilst waiting I watched a distraught woman telling the staff the damage on her car they said she caused could not possibly have been done by her. She was subsequently charged for damage and for "admin costs". - On returning the car I had the same experience, a scratch I am positive I did not cause, that did not pierce the paint work was found. I was charged £95 plus VAT plus £50 "admin fee". I am adamant I did not damage the car when driving it - On leaving I could see the same rep in the forecourt having a significant argument with the next customer returning a car!! Absolutely awful experience and a load of stress and hassle on top of the extra cost. Please, please check Rentalcars when booking a car, if it says "Easirent" or "Rentalcars recommends" rather than stating a hire firm then stay away and get the next least expensive car - you will save money, time, and stress aplenty!!!!!!!!!!!

Shocking shocking shocking This is the kind of company that shouldnt be allowed to operate. Terms clearly state a deposit amount for uk residents but on arrival the deposit has over doubled and to reduce it down would mean doubling the price ro hire the car. Then then wont even refund the full amount even though its their wording misleading customers when hiring. I would stay well away from these clowns

Do not use this company at all costs. They gave my disabled wife a rental car that broke down on second day of rental, then accused her of filling the car with petrol (it was a diesel) despite not putting in any fuel. When car was driven back to depot replacement car was disgusting and full of rubbing. In the evening the manager phoned to say that there was petrol in the tank and then passed the phone onto the mechanic. He then went outside for a cigarette and refused to talk (despite phoning us). When we returned home we discovered that they had charged £340 to our card, despite the deposit we had paid and easirent took upfront in the sum of £1,250 being returned to us as the Heathrow office did not have an issue with the rental. The attitude of the staff at Gatwick is disgusting and I would recommend that no one ever uses this company ever.

Very unprofessional, hidden charges, understaffed, they will drive the car to fill it for you which takes longer as its crowded and only one driver was there, they will force you to buy fuel which no other rental cars do, the whole processing time to get a car takes almost 40-45 minutes. I booked C class or similar they were giving me Mini cooper saying its the same class as C class.

After booking before with Easirent and finding a good deal I decided to, despite the slow service, turn to them once more. But this experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. Having used many low budget rentals and travel options before I have come to expect slow service and sly charges but my last experience went way beyond that. After the rental was returned, with no notification from Easirent, I received an additional £90 charge for something that is not listed anywhere in the rental agreements. When I emailed and asked what the charge was for I was sent an invoice, with no helpful explanation, that was obviously incorrect: the date, car model, and even the name was incorrect (having been taken from my previous rental). The incompetence continued when I enquired about the invoice and I was sent an entirely new invoice with another persons full name, address, passport details, license number, etc. Finally after the third attempt I was sent a proper invoice, but still no information. After trying to ask for more details I have been ignored and am still short £90. I will never book with this company again and I highly recommend that, although the price is enticing, to steer clear of Easirent.

I collected the car from Birmingham airport area. Waited for an hour to be picked up in cold in mid November. I had already paid the charges on line. My card was swiped for £1200 for access twice. So £2400 were taken from card which came back after 1 wk of return of car. I was also charged for reduced access about £90 but still had to pay full access. This product was sold without my knowledge. i brought that to attention if customer service they said it will be refunded. Its Jan 16 and no refunds yet. Emailed them many times. No answers. Phone calls no answeres. The worst ever car rent. Will never recommend. The person on the dest who delt with me was very dodgy guy as well.

A common theme on this website it seems..... Unfortunately it doesn't allow me to give less than a star which probably sums up my experience with this company. We were collected from Birmingham International rail station to be taken to the car rental place which is over 10min away in a car, nowhere near the airport. En route the driver then made a detour to pick up a random person as well, which ended up with me and my very worried girlfriend in a car with two complete strangers. On arrival, the unhelpful attendant informed me that they would be taking £1,200 off my card to cover the deposit (at other reputable rental companies, the maximum i have had taken off is £200). When I refused, he informed me that for a charge of just £25, they could reduce it to £500! When I also refused this, they would not refund me, meaning that I then had to go to Sixt in Birmingham Airport at 9.45pm to hire another car. I still haven't received a refund and have been chasing them with very little or no response and of course, no refund. Long story short, don't make my mistake and book with Easirent. Absolute cowboys.

Do not use this company! Paid to have additional insurance over and above, which I thought allowed the deposit to be waived. Arrived at the rental shed to be told that we were required to pay an excess of £1,250 and it must be on a credit card. I don't have a credit card and after i explained this the man was happy to waive this and let me charge the amount to my debit card. I asked some additional questions because I wasn't sure as to why I paid for excess insurance and still had to pay such a high deposit. The whole process was so unclear and no way transparent! The more questions I asked, the more rude the employee became! After I asked questions, he then decided that I couldn't charge the deposit to my debit card and I would have to take out ANOTHER insurance of £132!!! An absolute con! I didn't trust this man or company at all and we decide not to take the car! I then called the broker we booked through to be told we couldn't cancel because our car pick up was 9am is it was now 9.40am!! So me, my husband and four year old had to make other arrangements as I was not giving this company any more money and certainly didn't feel confident about driving away in any of their cars! Terrible customer service, probably the worst ive ever experienced! Upon leaving, we spoke to other customers who had the same issue. Very unclear and will most definitely be taking this further! Just to be clear, we have rented cars on numerous occasions in the past and never had such issues.

beware...read this before you hire from this company. i put a £1250 deposit on my car. When i was given the car the checkout inspection took approximately 20 seconds. It was extremely superficial. When i returned the car after approximately two weeks of use the check in procedure was in total contrast to check out. It was incredibly detailed and meticulous. The employee got down on all fours shining a torch into all the wheel arches and wheel spokes. They managed to find the most minute of marks on one of the wheel trims...barely perceptible, and certainly had not been looked for on checkout. I was then told this would require a new alloy wheel, and the final bill was £216 which was removed from my account before i gave approval to the quote. needless to say i am in the process of reporting them to trading standards.

To cut a long story short; > I was overcharged by £28.73 which the company won’t refund. > The car had a slight smoky odour when I collected it. > The windscreen was ‘greasy’ on the inside, for which I had to purchase window cleaner so it was safe to drive at night. > Staff I spoke to on the phone were rude. My advice if you intend to use this company is to keep checking the cost and additions when you collect the car. I booked online, through a broker, which said I had to pay £72.00 upon collection. Not an excuse, but after an overnight, long-haul flight I just paid the amount asked at the counter, I was told this included for £25 fuel in the tank, there is also a sign when you collect the car stating this. When I checked the numbers a day later, I had been charged £53.73 over the original £72. Numerous emails went back and forth where the customer rep constantly fiddled the numbers to suit their purpose: First explanation: the £53.73 consisted of £40 for additional driver, and £13.73 for fuel in the car. I pointed out that the additional driver was free of charge… Second explanation: £40 was for fuel, £13.73 for additional driver …again, additional driver should have been free of charge… Final explanation: additional £53.73 was a fuel charge, AND I should be thankful because their fuel card says the tanks should have been £85. Lucky me. But, why wasn’t I charged just £25 as advertised in the office? *also posted on Trust Pilot

I had the worst experience ever in Luton. They are not located at the airport and it takes a while to go by shuttle bus to a car park. They hold a 1250 Pounds deposit on the credit card which is still blocked 10 days after I handed the car back. I had set the limit of my card lower because of safety reasons, but there was no WIFI so I could have changed it and I had to take a high cost insurance with a lower deposit. I have booked a tank 25% full and empty on return. The tank was 75% full and they charged me 30 Pounds. I didn't go far and handed the car back half full with petrol. It took a very long time before I got the car in Luton because a couple in front of me had exactly the same problems. At the end it was a very time and money consuming experience, very stressful, lots of inconveniences and hassle. AVOID THIS COMPANY!

This is the worst rent a car agency I have ever experienced. DO NOT RENT FROM EASYRENT UK!!! I rented the car for 2 days and I paid the extra money for insurance. When I left the car back it was the same good condition as a picked it up with. Off course. We did the inspection of the car together and everything was fine and then I went back home. 2 days later I got an email that they want me to charge 50 punds for tire damage!??? WTF. Tire damage? They also said that without the insurance that would have cost me 250 pounds! This is totally unexceptable. The money was automatically taken from my account without my permission. I have now talked with my bank and we are going further with this case. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with, they are liars and cheap idiots. DO NOT RENT FROM EASYRENT UK

If renting from "Manchester Airport" DON'T BE FOOLED BY THE INITIAL LOW RENTAL COSTS! Firstly they're not actually based at the airport! All other car hire firms are in a dedicated area close to the terminals which has a very regular free shuttle bus service, but Easirent's office is several miles away in a Marriot hotel. They advertise a shuttle car service to their office, but I was told it would be at least 30 mins before they could collect me so I had to get a taxi at my own cost (£7). It isn't possible to walk as there are no footpaths/pavements for large stretches of the journey along/beside the M56 motorway. Also unless you take out their extortionate £16/day insurance they will charge a CDW deposit of £1500, PLUS they will actually take the money from your card (unlike almost all other car hire firms). So you will have to have either that amount of money in your account (if using a debit card) or that amount of available credit (if using a credit card), which of course reduces your available credit balance for the entire duration of your hire! I have annual car hire insurance which is no problem for any other car hire company, but Easirent refused to reduce their CDW deposit unless I bought their insurance. I have read on many other forums stories of them sometimes taking several days to refund customers' CDW deposits and charging customers for spurious 'damage' to vehicles. Luckily I had no problems with the car I hired, but friends who hired from them in 2014 were expected to take a car that had a flat tyre and clearly not roadworthy! On a positive note all of the staff I dealt with were very friendly and helpful. I just hope that Easirent realise their business model of capturing customers with what see like great initial rates then hitting them with hidden costs is highly flawed. I, like many others I'm sure, won't be hiring from them again!

Hello, Same experience for me a few days ago. Returning the car (audi white and black) et they pointed me some marks that were strangely well done. So well done that if they really were at the de parture (not noticed on the paper at the depature) we could think that it was tuning effects on the car ! Even, if i saw these marks, i wouldnt have notice them because i thougth, even at the arrival, that was part of the design of the car ! And i can swear on my dauhter's heads that i took care of the car very accurately and no accident happens ...Thy tooka fee of 250 pounds. Very angry but we were to short to our plane departure that we paid finally. Unfortunately we did not take photos at the departure to proove things... And we had to go. But we are sure to have been trapped by this dishonest society, moreover in seeing your comments . What can we do collectively according to you ?
