@EasirentCarHire at #CastleDonington scammed me in Sept 2019 when I signed their EPAD believing this to be for lost keys and failure to refuel. I had a yearly policy (£35.00) to cover damage to their vehicle and they charged me £270 for 2 weeks extra insurance without my consent. Complained to Easirent and got no reply. Complained to credit card company and they investigated, however they were powerless to refund me as Easirent just reiterated that I’d signed the EPAD and purchased the extra insurance of my own free will when I did not. AVOID AVOIVD THIS COMPANY

Do not rent from Easirent! Flat tyre, no spare, no inflation canister, no support. They actually had the nerve to tell me that it was illegal to carry a spare tyre in a rental car in Ireland! (Not true)

I had a lucky escape but NEVER again will I rent from this unprofessional incompetent people! When I first walked into the office I thought I was back in the dark ages! but that was only the beginning. FIrst it was a long wait it what looked like a run down cab office, a few hard signatures, a photocopy of your licence, a hard insurance sale which I vehemently declined, then a trip upstairs to see another incompetent personnel. I really had the presence of mind to walk away but to where? this place is on an industrial estate! no cars or buses and to where would I go at the last minute! Anyway, more paper work upstairs and then a wait back downstairs again whilst this old car was perhaps hand washed, as it came out dripping. A thorough walk around the car followed with every tiny magnifying seeing glass seeing mark looked at (that's when I really started to worry that I might get charged for bird poo on the car) . I was so terrified that I returned the car after two days instead of 4, whilst it was in my possession I hardly drove it and almost parked it under my bed! Needless to say upon return another fine tooth comb look around the car, then the guy said the was a tiny line on the rim of the car! I looked at him with saucer eyes thinking 'you gotta be kidding me right?' in the end after a back and throwing, he let me off, but that was a very narrow escape. Took me 7 days before I got back my £1,500 deposit but NEVER again, and I say NEVER!

Awful experience. I collected my car and because I didn’t succumb to the pressurised sales pitch regarding taking out their additional cover insurance I then had to, using my own mobile phone torch because it was dark outside - search EVERY inch of the body work of the car whilst the salesman stood by with a clip board marking any I found, on paper; at one point I was on my hands and knees! It was raining heavily - and no shelter was offered. The car was parked very far away from any street lighting - I literally had to feel my way over the entire body work of the car, sills and hub caps! He kept telling me that I wouldn’t have to do this if I had taken out their cover. I told him that I had taken out additional cover with the broker and he said that these brokers don’t always pay out despite what they say whereas their cover does. There were MANY scratches and chips all over the body work but despite the dark and heavy rain I was determined to find them all. He kept telling me that the minimum I could expect to be charged for even the tiniest chip was £300! £1,800 was also ‘frozen’ from my credit card and I was also told that they hold on to the money for 28 days. If my credit card charged me for this or any interest payments as a result of the money being frozen - I would be liable to pay the interest. Of course, this wouldn’t happen if I had taken out their additional cover. The entire experience was a nightmare and the worry of the car nearly ruined my Christmas visit. I will NEVER hire a car from this company again. The pressure you feel to take out their cover is unreasonable and the procedure you have to go through if you don’t take it - a nightmare! I will say that Elliot served me when I dropped the car back and he was great. Polite and helpful.

got dirty car and empty tank and chipped car and I was blamed for the chipped of the car what I didn’t do it . The person who claim to be the manager ( Andrei ) he can be anything else but no manager , the only word in English he knew was you did it you pay , no customer service experience and manners. I don’t want to waist my time to talk about this company and this person. Avoid this company better pay bit more and you get better service. Avoid Avoid Avoid.

DO NOT USE, TRUST THE REVIEWS. rented a car with these, via easy jet (so assumed, there would be no issues), decided not to take up the premium insurance on booking, but when collecting car, was advised had to pay £150 insurance or couldn't take the car, so had no choice or would have been stranded, so absolute con.

This company in terms of customer service is the Ryanair of the car rental industry. They have refined the art of trading off good value for abysmally wretched customer service, apparently relishing causing their customers the maximum of anguish in return for being allowed to rent a car from them. This view is based on a number of experiences of renting from their branch at Dublin Airport, Dublin City, and culminating today in a final trauma with the Cork airport branch.

Truly dreadful. They must be the worst company I have ever dealt with in any industry...by a long way. Shame I can't leave zero stars. Avoid at all costs.

We rented a car with them, since easyjet/rentalcars.com are pushing them through their online booking platform and it seemed to be a good price at the time. Boy, were we wrong. Upon arrival at the airport we requested the promised pick-up service only to be told, that they are not operating due to some obscure reason. Already off to a great start! So we had to walk with our luggage to the rent office. The office is a shabby container in which a scruffy employee greeted us. I already regretted having booked with them there. Since we had booked through rentalcars.com, i had purchased full coverage through another party. The employee then told us, that this option only works, if he holds 1,500 pounds on our credit card. So full coverage through rentalcars.com, but 1,500 pound liability with easirent, what a curious combination... Since i didnt have that much on my credit card, we needed (or did we?) to purchase an additional "relaxation" of the easirent coverage, which costs us nearly as much as the rent itself. This option was hard-sold to us and it was pretty revolting. Since we had to get somewhere, we agreed and then got a tour of our car. The damage inspection was done without a flash-light (it was at night) and he asked us, if we could use our smartphone... this is not just unprofessional, it's criminal. We had requested a small car, since we were driving through the narrow streets of Cornwell with 2 people, but got a huge KIA, dirty on the inside... On return I was greeted by 2 people with poor english (and this is a foreigner speaking) and worse manners. I didnt get any confirmation of the end of the rental agreement, either via email or written - even on request. Again no shuttle service to the airport. I have spent a considerable amount of time scanning through other reviews and it seems this is not just a branch that is problematic, the entire company is systemically milking people through hard-selling and scamming (inventing fees on the go, over-pricing tiny damages or bumps, not returning deposits, the list goes on)... I dont know, with all these bad experiences, how this company can still go on existing. It should be shut down and the executives should be jailed. That they are being quoted through easyjet and rentalcars.com is an absolute degrace to these companies and might explain how they can still have any customers at all.

WARNING!WARNING!! AVOID THESE BRUTES. They steal your money by accusing you for damage on the car which was already there!! When we picked up the car it was wet, they just "washed" it they said. Therefore it was very difficult to see all the damages on the car. The guy had an emty paper; whilst normally when you rent a car all the present damages are already mentioned. This time it was a"search and find it yourself" duty. We've made pictures and because the car was very wet, we missed some!! We took the car, drove to our family, parked the car in front of their garage, didn't use it anymore, and after a week we drove back. And then they "discovered" a scratch. We told them that the damage was absolutely not caused by us, and that it had been almost impossible to find all the damages when we picked up the car. But you are catched in their criminal claws and you have to pay. We were already sitting in the van for departure to the airport when we had to go back to the office. We had to pay £195 and £75 ad ministrationcosts!!! One of the guys even showed "paint" on his fingertips, that he found on "our" car. These guys, and also the woman, brute and bitchy, working there..,they know that they accused ypu false, but they don't care at all. They just want to rob you from your money. AVOID these AWFUL, DISGUSTING SCAMMERS and CHEATERS.

Uttter shambolic customer service. Booked AND paid for a van weeks ago - had a telephone call early in the morning; no voicemail; tried to call back and no one answered. Made my journey to Crawley and was advised the van not available and no alternative at that moment, but wait a while and it would be here. Upon enquiry as to why they could not leave a message, was ignored, and also the fact I wanted an immediate refund so I could look elsewhere. This did not happen. I was out of pocket, and searching around elsewhere took a while; lost moving time, and extra cost involved through no fault of my own............ next step Trading Standards.

Don't even think about it, awful. Easyjet pushes this company through their website so booked a car at Gatwick. Took over an hour by infrequent bus service to get to their shabby office. Easyjet knows I am over 70 but their confirmation did not mention any special conditions. Was made to wait for another hour -- Easirent's insurance company had to vet me first. (In spite of my 35 year no-accident record). Result: "you van rent the car if you either pay Stg 136(!) -- for 2 days -- in extra insurance charges or agree to increase the excess from Stg 750 to Stg 2,750". Never again. Hard to understand why Easyjet lends its name to this sham.

I genuinely would warn anyone away from using this company. Utter shambles of an organisation, I cannot even be bothered to go into too much detail. We walked out when we saw the huge queue and heard that people had been waiting over an hour to collect a car. Their prices may appear cheap but they expect you to put a £1300-£1500 deposit down on the car and £100 for fuel. I could see many people baffled by these figures but reluctantly paying the deposit. Save your money and go to a proper car rental company. We walked out and went to Enterprise and had a brand new Fiesta in five minutes, with the usual £200 deposit.
