Pick up from airport was delayed. It was dark and inspection of vehicle was archaic- we were handed a torch. Vehicle was filthy on outside and impossible to decipher dirt from other marks. We ended up with £170 because we missed 2 white dots in bonnet of car at pick up. Complete con and rip off company- AVOID

I would not even give this company one star! I rented a car from Cork airport last week end and declined their extra insurances as I have an annual car hire insurance policy. The attitude the guy I was dealing with changed instantly and he kept telling me I would be liable for any marks or scratches and 2,200 was blocked on my credit card. I straight away felt he would do everything he could to find something to charge me for. The paintwork of the car was badly scratched and scuffed in several places but I failed to notice a small nick /dent on the rim of one of the wheels. He straight away identified this mark on my return and as it hadn't been identified on the signing out diagram he told me I was responsible for it. I know that I did not cause this damage to the car but he was having none of it. within 45 minutes( I hadn’t even boarded my flight!!) when I received an invoice for 200 euro! There is no way that this is a genuine quote from a garage and I feel completely exploited by Easirent. Needless to say I will never ever use this horrible company again... they are gangsters and cowboys and will take extra money from you somehow!

Easy rent is a completely unprofessional and disgraceful company. I was told as I am 24 years old I would need to leave a 1800euro deposit by the man I spoke with on the phone. On arriving in Dublin I was told the law had changed the day before I arrived and I would need to leave a 2500euro deposit. I received no email or notification informing me of this and I booked the car 3 weeks in advance. They then told me I would have to take out insurance with them... long story short they wanted 500euros with a 2500eruo deposit to hire a car for 4 days.... I was lucky I wasn't taken for a mug and left to hire a car from Sixt which own the building next door, they were the polar opposite and I honestly cannot recommend them highly enough. I lost a £30 deposit I put down to hold the car and to be honest I am very disappointed in the lack of customer service easirent provided. If you are reading this dont waste your time with this company its not worth the hassle when you are trying to have a stress free time on holiday.

Beware of this company. Shocking insurance excess that is designed to scare you into taking out inflated insurance cover. Combined with shady customer service that is designed to think you're getting a deal - until you see your statement and you realised you've just been fleeced! I suspect their operating practices are probably breaking various rules - Trading Standards need to investigate this company.

NEVER RENT FROM THIS COMPANY We rented a car from the Glasgow branch in February......we tell a similar story to many other people who rent from Easirent....we picked up the car very late one night so it was dark...my husband did his best to inspect the car using his mobile phone torch . We returned the car in perfect condition. However when the guy inspected it he found a dent on a rear door almost immediatly......I couldn’t see even though I was standing there looking at the car door.....they charged us £260....for absolutely nothing....it was extremely stressful for the whole family and left the children very upset. I eventually claimed the money from our supplementary insurance which Easirent knew we had from the beginning....I think they are crooks......I was so concerned with their behaviour I cancelled my credit card once I got home.....MY ADVICE STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY

To echo the scores of bad reviews, I would also like to have left 0 but have had no choice but to give them 1 star. I arranged to hire a vehicle from the Crowne Plaza Gatwick branch. I booked through a broker called Vehicle Rent. 1) There are no proper signs to direct you to the car rental "office". I drove around most of the car park before discovering a tiny little sign indicating that I was in the right place. 2) Upon arrival, the two assistants appraised me with a look of distaste. I thought it was my imagination but what transpired confirmed my initial suspicions. 3) I provided a Council Tax bill, driving licence and passport. This was apparently still not enough ID and proof of address. I was told that I could not use my driving licence as proof of my address and I also could not use my Council Tax! Since when? Absolute rubbish. I was asked to download a bank statement so that they could take my address from there. To me this was wholly unnecessary and a bid to try and find a reason to terminate my booking (which I was threatened with prior to my terminating the booking) but I complied. 4) I was asked to sign terms and conditions authorising them to charge my credit card with up to £2,500.00. I refused as the terms and conditions online stated that the deposit would be £1,500.00. I pointed this out and was told that I did not understand and that it did not say it would charge £2,500.00 but that it was up to. I stood my ground and explained that I understood perfectly well what the words "up to" meant and the fact is is that I was not going to authorise them to charge up to £2,500.00 when I had only agreed to authorise a charge of "up to " £1,500.00. I was told that it was not terms and conditions and that I was not signing for that part of the paper. I again refused to sign as I knew full well that a signature is binding and that they were terms and conditions. I amended the form to say £1,500.00 and was told that I could not do this and the form was taken away from me. I was given a notepad to complete my details on instead. I complied. 5) I had enquired as to whether I could park my own car in place of the rental vehicle for the duration of the rental; similar to how Zipcar operates; I was told that I could. The two assistants also tried to make this a problem but eventually said that I could register my car at the hotel reception desk and it would be sorted out. This offer was later revoked and I was told that I would have to pay for parking. 6) I was asked for my credit card. I was then asked if it was mine (it has my full name on it, not even initials!) I asked why he thought it would not be mine. I was fed up with the profiling at this point as others in the "office" who did not look like me were not being subjected to such questioning regarding their proof of address and whether their credit card belonged to them, but draw whatever inference you will from that. 7) The assistant was dealing with my booking. I was leaning on the counter checking my phone. The assistant leapt up from behind the counter and began to shout claiming that I had tried to take a picture of them. I then laughed in disbelief and said that I was not taking any pictures. The assistant claimed he saw me, to which I replied he could not have seen me as I was not taking pictures of them. He made a comment to the effect that I was lucky that he was not going to check my phone! I said I would like to see him try and at which point I decided that I did not want to deal with the company at all and terminated my booking. The whole experience was a disaster from beginning to end. I would not recommend them at all. I requested the names of the rude assistants who dealt with me and they refused to give them. At one point, the assistant said that there was no point in being helpful to me as I was going to give them a bad review anyway! There is a reason they are very cheap. STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE.

The worst car hire experience ever EASIRENT Belfast International Airport The worst car hire experience ever. Waiting for the shuttle bus to pick up the car was a waiting game. Lots of unnecessary paper work, forceful insurance requirements and in convenient location. Very frustratingly you won't get the car in TIME.Expect at least an hour for the waiting and travelling to and from the car depot and airport, and at least another hour for the waiting in the easyrent office in a remote location for your turn, paper work, insurance payment and car inspection and collection. Absolutely unacceptable customer care. AVOID AT ANY COST, ITS A RIP OFF and should be featured in Rip Off Britain series. The Experience After reading 1000s of unsatisfied customer reviews about easyrent car hire, I have decided to take on the same challenge to see if I can experience the thrill myself. And now, I can OFFICIALLY APPROVE that EASYRENT Car Hire is the WORST car hire experience one can have in EUROPE. I have booked a basic car for a day (to be precise, its only for about 6hours) to collect it as soon as I arrive at the airport @ about 10am. I have arrived at 10am and exited the airport at about 1015. Step (1) There are no easyrent car hire office at the airport location. so I had to call a number provided in the booking voucher. After choosing selection 2 I have been transferred to somebody and he said I have to wait at the airport for few more people to arrive and a shuttle bus will come and collect as a group and take to the easyrent office which is miles away from the airport step(2) After waiting for about 20 minutes I have received any response and called him back. He said the driver is busy helping other customers at the office and leave within 10 minutes. It was freezing cold and storm Gareth was in force.(Appropriate climate for a horror experience) step (3) On the third attempt the customer rep at the desk revealed the big secret the pick up point. He navigated me towards the bus stop and I managed to find it after crossing 4 Zebra crossings and turning right. step(4) No sign of driver or shuttle bus. After the forth call the driver arrived in a stinky 7 seater (Literally stinking like hell! 4D expereince!) and waited for another couple arriving in few minutes. step (5) The ride from hell. Obviously he is the only driver for pick ups and he have to do at least 40 pick ups a day according to him and he was driving very dangerously (what a thrill!) step (6) The middle of nowhere. You arrive at the easyrent office hidden away in an industrial park where one receptionist is explaining the "stories" to terrified customer. I can see the horrified face of the poor lady and the sales man trying to drink her blood. step (7) The waiting game. The salesman asked me to wait outside while he dealt with the lady. He gave me a form to keep me engaged while waiting (A brilliant alternative to a puzzle or crossword). step(8) give all you have to the salesman game. Basically you fill all your personal details including the 16 digit card number, expiry date, three digit from the back of the card and sign at the bottom agreeing that you now legally allow the salesman to take any money he wish from you account as he is renting a car to him for few hours. Remeber, these details are already given including your passport details, licence details, address etc at the time of booking and paid in full in advance . But Easyrent want to give us a special experience. Step (9) At about 1130, its my turn! I was ready to be killed. The sales person requested the form, passport, licence , proof of address, the print out of a carhire voucher and my credit card. He asked me to pay about £55 for the day for a full protection insurance or a £1500 deposit. I have offered the deposit as I already had a full protection insurance from carhireexcess.co.uk. step(10) No credit card No car scenario. Unfortunately I had no credit card in my name and I was happy to use my debit card to hold the deposit.(All other hire companies I have used in the past accepted it and I'm a regular hirer of europcar, hertz etc.) step(11) No credit card No Car. The salesman was not having anything but no credit card no car argument. step(12) The time killing game. it was about 12pm and time is running out. I need to return my car at about 4pm as my check in at the airport is at 5pm. I was thinking, its already 12 pm and I haven't got my car yet, I either have to pay the £55 for the insurance (even though I have full protection insurance), fill the paper work, inspect the car and have it for about 2 hours! or finish with the EASYRENT CAR HIRE EXPERIENCE then and there. I have decided to call it a day and forgot the time, money and energy I have wasted for the Easyrent car hire. Step(13) The waiting game part 2. The salesman started serving the other couple and they accepted every demand by the salesman as they wanted the car for 5 days. The sales man ask me to wait outside until he serve the other customers. step(14) The ride back to the airport from hell experience. Obviously the salesman was not happy that I haven't given him all my money and he was having his revenge by driving me back to airport by giving me a terryfying experience. I was literally holding on tight as he was driving very dangerously and I'm not exaggerating anything here. Step(15) The apology game. As soon as we arrived back in the airport at about 1250pm, he apologised to me and said" I'm sorry that I'm only a salesman. My hands are tied".

No option to award zero stars so I've been a little generous here. I had a terrible experience with these cowboys and I would urge you to spend a little more because, if your experience is anything like mine, you'll ultimately pay a lot less anyway. When I arrived to collect my hire car (miles from the Luton Airport), due to it being dark, I was handed a flashlight and asked to assess the car for damage. I did the best I could and noted down what I could see. Upon leaving, I realised that the car hadn't even been cleaned. It was filthy both inside and out. I found empty Costa coffee cups, half drunk bottles of water, haribos and crisps in the glove box (thanks). When I returned the hire car after 5 days having done very little mileage, I pulled up at the Stansted branch (again, miles from the airport) and went in to the office to return the car. An employee left to survey the vehicle and when he returned, he claimed a tyre had been damaged. I have attached the image of the 'damage'. Several things to note at this point. Firstly, I had not curbed the car. I've been driving for 30 years and never had a single claim. Secondly, the so called 'damage' was so insignificant that, had I seen it armed with my torch night one, I wouldn't have bothered noting it down. Thirdly, the tyres were not in the best of condition anyway and looked in need of imminent replacement. In summary, my cheap hire car for five days was trippled in price with the cost of the tyre replacement and 'admin fee'. Please, I urge you to spend a little more and go with a company that won't rip you off when you return the vehicle.

They don't do 0 star or that's what I would rate as. Crooks took my money on a debit card charged me. I got there to pick it up and could not get it because I did not have a credit card. The guy at the desk said I would get a complete refund in 5 working days. 10 days later still nothing rand them and they are charging me for 3 days even tho I did not get a car. Very rude staff poor service avoid these crooks at all cost.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY EASIRENT WILL TRY TO RIP YOU OFF FOR ALLEGED DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE The worst car hire company I have ever had the misfortune to use. I was forced to hire from them because I had to make a short notice visit to Southampton on a bank holiday because my mother had died that morning, I had arrived early because I was trying to see my mother before she passed away, The Easirent staff said they could not let me have the car early and were very unhelpful so I was forced to get a very expensive taxi to the hospital then return to the airport later to pick up the hire car. The Easirent office is nowhere near the airport and the shuttle bus took ages to arrive, you are then shipped to an industrial estate where you have no other options. The hire 'car' turned out to be a transit van. The vehicle was wet when it was given to me and it was dark so inspecting it was more or less impossible and sure enough when i returned it I was pointed to a number of scratches and chips that I am certain were already there when I picked it up and were from wear a tear, as you are basically trapped on an industrial estate a good distance away from the airport and relying on Easirent to transport you back there or you will miss your flight they have you over a barrel. I was subsequently charged nearly £500 for 'repair of a few chips and scratches on the paintwork, this was an obvious scam I could tell by the way the staff went straight to the alleged damage without inspecting the whole vehicle. having read many reviews subsequently many have had the same experience. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Unfortunately there is no option to leave a zero star review. Have used this company twice in four years and there were multiple problems each time with the vehicle, staff professionalism, inflexibility and intransigence in dealing with the issues and refusal to provide recompense. Avoid at all costs.

If I could give a minus star review I would. I rented a car from this company and paid online. In picking the car up the ‘office’ was nothing more than a dirty room with an old desk and a laptop. I was pressured to take out extra insurance which I declined but told that if they even found a millimeter scratch they would charge me for it. I tried to cancel my booking as they were making me feel so uncomfortable and was told that I couldn’t cancel as it was after the pick up time. I was given a ‘free’ upgrade and asked to go online and give good reviews as his boss would be wondering why he had given me an upgrade for nothing. I didn’t do this. I looked after the car as if it was made of bone China as I was so paranoid they were going to take money from me. On returning the car we went out to check and the man checking it went straight to a scratch on an alloy which was so small you could hardly see. I told him this had been highlighted when I took the car. I signed for the return of the car and asked for the paperwork only to be told that they needed it and the photocopier was broken. Thankfully I took a photo of the original. On return home I discovered that £280 had been taken from my credit card. I’ve tried to get in touch with Easirent but get no reply to my emails. I’ve raised a query with my credit card company who have been in touch with Easirent and have sent me copies of the paperwork. Easirent have added damage to a window on after I have signed. Not even the alloy as I was expecting!!!!! I’ve contacted Easirent asking for proof of damage and proof of repair and previous return paperwork (as I suspect they charge for the same scratches etc time and time again) I’m fighting this as I know this damage wasn’t there and they had fraudulently added things on after I have signed. Don’t do want I did and not read reviews! I don’t know how this company hasn’t been shut down! PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COSTS
