We paid over £4,500 for a corner sofa in January 2019 (in cash which was maybe a mistake). When we were sold the sofa the salesman told us it was best leather, hard wearing all the way from Italy. As we have young grandchildren we thought it would be the ideal sofa. How wrong were we!!!!! The sofa was delivered 4 weeks ago. Both my husband and I work and do not sit on the sofa all night long. However, sagging has already started. Went back to FV to check if their display sofa did the same. It didn't. We spoke to the mgr and he told us to smooth the leather and tuck it to the back of the sofa each night................we paid £4,500 to do that!!!!!! mmmmmm I think not!!!!! The mgr told us that a technician from the manufacturer would come to see us to see if it was a manufacture fault. We received a phone call today from FV (and guess what) - it isn't a manufacture fault and FV can't do anything else (apparently). We'll see about that. Small Claims court here we come. We're fuming, we're due to retire and thought the sofa would last a long time. Our last leather sofa (not from FV and not expensive) lasted over 15 years. There was nothing wrong with it so we gave it our daughter. The only reason for a new sofa was that we were refurbishing the house.

DO NOT BUY FROM FV. We got 2 Parker Knoll sofas and a recliner chair which were delivered on 14/12/18. Three months ago a tiny hole appeared in the seat of the chair, we contacted FV and after a few weeks a technician came and of course said it wasn’t their fault and if we had insurance to claim on that. After 3 weeks tried to contact FV and after numerous attempts spoke to someone who told me the lady that dealt with this was stock taking and she would call when she had finished. She phoned today and before she could say anything she would have to talk to her manager. The hole is much larger now and when we have visitors I tell them what has happened and where it came from. People are amazed that as it is under a year old we haven’t been offered an exchange. We took out the Guardsman Policy but apparently they are just the same so it might be the small claims.

Bought a dining table online at FV. After owning the dining table less than 3 weeks the lacquer on the top of the table started to come off. We always used mats on the table and followed the aftercare advice of using a damp cloth to clean it. I emailed the after care team as I was in my 30 day right to refuse as my table is clearly unfit for purpose to be ignored. I emailed again and made a phone call to them asking to get back to me ASAP. FV asked me to send some photos of the damage to them via email and they’re response was that I’ve damaged the table and to use mats at all times. Absolutely terrible after care and customer service from start to finish. Avoid this company! FV I will be taking this further.

I do not usually write reviews but I visited this reviews site soon after (yes, after!) placing our very first order with Furniture Village. We had placed our order online, after visiting the Ipswich Furniture Village, where we saw a lovely dining table set on offer. It was a late night purchase -- we have just moved into a new home with a toddler and our general exhaustion (and a couple of glasses of wine) meant that we did not do our usual due diligence of reading reviews prior to ordering. The following day, on reading the reviews here, both my wife and I were horrified and even contemplated cancelling our order immediately, but as we really liked the dining table set, we decided to "risk" it. Needless to say (from our 5 star rating) that we are extremely happy that we did not cancel our order. The after sales experience in our case was brilliant. We were contacted a few days after placing our order to arrange the delivery (the set we choose was marked for 14 days delivery). We agreed for the first available delivery slot and just 10 days after placing the order, we have our lovely dining table set delivered and installed in our dining room. The delivery personnel, who had driven down from Cambridge, were prompt, efficient and very pleasant -- I would go so far as to say it was a pleasure to deal with them. All in all, we have had an outstanding experience with Furniture Village.

The staff at the hull store are grossly incompetent and don’t bother returning calls. I’m still waiting for them to resolve an outstanding issue and planning to find out how I can formally complain about the pathetic service!

NEVER EVER EVER AGAIN. will i step foot in their shop. Everything is your fault and, every excuse in the book is rolled out. Absolute disgrace to deal with after they have your money. Bought a couch last year, it took 18 weeks to arrive and they it was the wrong colour. Everybody has a second chance and we bought a table of them this year January and arrive April. Its now broken in half (ceramic) and they say its our fault. currently battling to resolve. Avoid these cowboys. #notveryhappy

Shocking after sales My experience in the shop was first class but unfortunately it went down hill from there. I ordered the sofa in September 2018. When my suite was ready for delivery my builders had not finished, so I paid Furniture Village £300 to safely store my suite. When they did try to deliver it, it was damaged, the travel leg had been snapped off and all the back was scuffed and dirty. So I waited another 6 weeks and they tried to deliver the same damaged sofa. They did say it was a new one but it had exactly the same damage as the first one. Even the delivery driver was shocked and thought I had purchased an old shop floor one. Eventually, 12 weeks later I took delivery of my suite and sponged the dirt off and I'm now happy with it. The final delivery was June 2019. But bearing in mind I had nothing to sit on for over 12 weeks and the fact that I paid £300 for safe storage I did not receive an apology or any refund on the storage fees as they said even though it was damaged whilst they stored it, they did store it and I had to pay! It certainly took the shine off my purchase and I will never use them again.

In store service when buying 100%, staff lovely at Cheadle store when purchasing. Quality of product on arrival - terrible. Staff interest after complaint 10%. Now 2 month after delivery, complained 2 weeks after delivery. After sales service...don't go there, its like a soap opera. 'Independant' company, appointed by furniture village, said our suite fine....soft fill meant to look flexible according to store report. Oh but wait, we bought as advertised....densely filled for comfort and lumbar support. Have now passed this complaint on to Trading Standards.....watch this space. But I would avoid furniture village as would all our family and friends who sit on our suite.

Do yourselves a favour and avoid this company. I’ve just come back from the Purley Way (Croydon) store where I can honestly say I experienced the worst customer service in my 50+ years. We went in this afternoon as I’m looking for a dining table and chairs. Came across a particular one I liked with an option of 4 chair colours but there were no clear signs about how much the table was with 6 chairs. Asked the sales associate who went away to check and came back to advise its £1,595 for the table and 6 chairs. As it was the first store we’d gone in to, we wanted to take a look around at what else was available but before we left I confirmed the price (along with some other details like delivery time etc) and I even went as far as explaining that we are undecided on the chair colour between two; sea green and another reddish colour. The price for the table and 6 chairs was again confirmed as £1,595. After about two hours of looking around in other stores (there are many options in the Purley area) we came back as we liked the unusual colour options of the chairs we’d seen at Furniture Village. The sales associate Amin recognised us and was very friendly and welcomed us back. After much deliberation (and even a family poll!), we decided to purchase the sea green coloured chairs with the table. As we sat down to finalise the purchase, Amin’s face dropped when he realised he’d made a mistake on the price; the £1,595 he’d quoted was for the grey chairs only! He said the price for the colour we’d chosen would be closer to £2k! Understandably, we were not happy as even the £1,595 was slightly above our budget. I asked to speak to a manager, not to reduce the price as I knew they wouldn’t, but to show him the poorly priced and set up of the display. There were no prices for the chairs let alone any distinction in prices between colours. Amin called the manager who was on the downstairs floor and explained the situation. The manager (who I now know is called Jason Body) REFUSED to come up and speak to us! Amin put the phone down and advised that he’s not going to come up. We were aghast! He just point blank refused to talk to us! I have never come across a manager with such poor customer service skills, he’s certainly not worthy of the title manager. Amin was apologetic but there was nothing else he could do. I took photos of the display on my way out showing the set up and labels to put in a complaint but I don’t think there’s any point if they can’t even be bothered to listen to customers in store. As I was heading out I noticed 4+ staff milling around downstairs and only one other customer in store. The place was practically empty and I can’t say I’m surprised. I’m still in shock about what happened this afternoon; 2.5 hours completely wasted. All that deliberation, looking at options available across stores and the disgusting non-service by the “manager” Jason. Hope no-one else goes through what we have today. Do yourselves a favour and avoid this store. Would give zero stars if I could.

purchased a chest of drawers and bedside drawers and the chest of drawers has started falling apart when its not actually used and there for looks. Contacted furniture village who were trying to do everything they could to get out of it but after quoting the sale of goods act and some notes on their 10 year warranty document they emailed me and confirmed the manufacturer is happy to replace it. Since then they have called me and said its been discontinued now so if i go in store and choose something up to the value of £517 they will send me one of those. (i have this phone call recorded). When i went in to the store i found something similar and asked the assistant to look up my notes and get this one sent to me. At which point the most rude manager came over and had a go at me saying i have damaged the goods etc and it would never be covered under warranty. i told him theres an email trail and phone call recording of this so after trying to call me a liar he said he will check and if thats true they will have to honour it. i asked what kind of timeframe i could expect to hear back from him and he said early next week (this was saturday i went in) about two weeks later after not having any contact i called up to chase and was told by an assistant that the manager had told them to close the claim and told them not to deal with me... They seem more than happy to take your money but no interest at all in sorting an issue with a product that is clearly not fit for purpose with shoddy quality. Wish i went to IKEA and saved a grand. Currently looking into help of how i can take this further and it seems Furniture Village have been reported on watchdog for breaching the sale of goods act on multiple occasions. Just embarrasing that a large company has managers that speak to you like you're a child, in fairness to the rest of the staff, they have been polite at all times just following their managers instruction. If you're looking to purchase any furniture, please do not use Furniture Village. IKEA quality for 4 times the price...

Do not buy from here!! I have sat and waited all day for a delivery only for the driver to drive past & tell me that he’s been asked not to deliver because there has been an issue with their finance team. After multiple calls & conversations, me being on hold, I am told that despite me waiting in all day, they cannot find the postcode & therefore have moved to other deliveries & will not be delivering to me! So not a finance issue but not being able to follow directions. Having spent thousands of pounds in Friern Barnet store, I work abroad & have travelled back to the U.K. especially to receive the delivery - I am appalled. The lady in store dealing with existing orders was great but seemingly the warehouse of control of orders on the road. I now have to wait at least another week for a bed to sleep on and a sofa to sit on & will have to reschedule my work flights again, at me expense. Appalling!

Everything about our experience of buying sofas from Furniture Village has been appalling. We are still waiting on various issues to be resolved months after buying them. They will take your money and leave you with very poor quality products and beyond belief truly appalling customer service afterwards, you really don't need the hassle, shop elsewhere!

Purchased Piccolo Corner Sofa in May 2019 - now to my regret -Two issues with the sofa which have been examined by their appointed sub contractor yet still no action despite three visits and umpteen phone calls which they never respond to. FV hope by not calling back and on my visits making promises they do not intend to keep it will go away. Even if one issue is the failure to fit an item that I have paid for. Only option is to go through legal action.

Well typical sales staff in the Hull Store only interested if your parting with your money. I was left to walk the full store (clearly they didn’t think I could afford anything as I was in my decorating clothes). I was in the store maybe 15 minutes before I was spoken too. Male and female staff sat at desk catching up on what seemed to be an amusing conversation. Then when I was spoken too the girl had to apologise she couldn’t help as didn’t work in sales, although I did appreciate the only communication I received and the girl was very pleasant she was just wasting her time. I have since gone on to order online and although I didn’t want to due to the Hull Store I fell in love with the sofa. I have called the store 4x to give my feedback but I never get a return call. Well furniture village it’s us little people that keep you in business.

Don't buy from this company they are corporate thieves. Sell things for extortionate amounts of money and give you no after care after only 4 months of use when things go wrong 😡 They send out so called independent technicians to review complaints but always are held in the favour of FV. Did not expect a £3000 sofa to become unusable within 4 months use of 2 average weight adults. Spoke to FV customer services (Hannah Ledingham) who basically has washed her hands of the situation due to company policy. Lets see if they wash their hands when I involve a solicitor or maybe even BBC Watchdog. One very angry never to use FV again customer.

Re. After my review of yesterday I had a prompt reply from Furniture Village. My furniture is to be delivered next week, dead on the 9 weeks estimation. This is the second time I have purchased from them and would definitely recommend them. Shame their phone system was on the blink when I tried to call. Thanks go to Phil and Josh at Preston for their help re the purchase. Mrs Dempsey

Will never buy from Furniture Village again! Bought a new bed frame and mattress from furniture village in October for nearly £2000. Followed all the guidelines but 7 months later found mould on the underside of the mattress. Contacted furniture village who said it must be my fault and have offered no replacement or even as explanation as to how this has happened. Substandard products and awful after sales service. Will not be back and advise anyone to avoid buying from furniture village.

We purchased a Parker Knoll large sofa and armchair from Furniture Village, Jason and Katie gave an excellent quality service, very knowledgeable about the product we bought. Small problem with the chair but it has been resolved thanks to Katie, I would highly recommend Furniture Village and the service we received.
