Not a great experience with Go Outdoors and many of these rviews reflect a very similar experience. My issues: 1) Ordered a tend, in stock, paid but then days later they cancel the order saying it is out of stock and so they refund me days later. Seems to be a re-occuring issue that they are taking orders and payment without actually having the stock. 2) I sourced the same tent elsewhere so needed a tent carpet - bought this from Go-Outdoors - no problems here so far. However, the other store Amazon, did the same and cancelled the tent order as there were stock issues. So with no tent once again I try to cancel the tent carpet from Go Outdoors but there is no option to do this online. Had to wait until it was delivered. 3) Take the tent carpet to Royal Mail, cost me £14 to return it tracked! 4)Two weeks later receive a random £8.95 refund from them so i ring to find out where the £44 I should have been refunded is. Spoke to a nice lady customer services agent who tries to investigate, took tracking number and said would confirm that the carpet had been received, will be processed it will just take a month to go through. 5) Now 5 weeks after they had received the tent back (3 weeks since I last called) I had to ring them again to find out where the refund was! Spoke to another agent who confirmed that they had received the tent back, couldn't explain the original £8.95 refund but spoke to their manager and agreed to refund the difference but it will take 3-5 working days! Obviously it was not being processed without my recent call! On top of all the time I have waited plus in all 3 calls to chase them. Judging by their track record I have no confidence it will be refunded in the next 3-5 working days. I will have no choice but to wait and see. Overall, an unpleasant purchase/refund experience in which the onus is completely on the customer to chase/receive money they are rightfully owed.

All the bad reviews are true. The item wasn't in stock even though it stated it was. The delivery time was 3-5 days. Phoned twice after that time. Each time they said that the delivery company picked it up and I should wait 7 days. (Even though on their website say 3-5)The delivery company said they never received it. Go outdoors customer services were clearly lying. Third time I phoned after 7 days they said it was lost in transit. Not good enough. They refunded the item but after reading the reviews I am not holding much hope to get it in 3-5 days. Absolutely shocking customer service. They talk over you, not listening and are very rude. I wouldn't even give them 1 star.

The absolute worst customer service department I have ever dealt with. I will never shop with them again. Garment sent out with a security tag on and although they told me to return through Royal Mail they have not refunded me the cost. This has been treated as joke by them. VERY DISAPPOINTED

Very frustrating experience on my recent order with Go Outdoors. I placed an order 3 weeks ago and after a week or so I checked the status of the order on their webiste. The order status hadn't been updated since ordering and hadn't been despatched so I got in touch by phone twice to find out what was going on. Each time I rang I was told they needed to put me on hold while they looked into it and each time after 5 or so minutes on hold I was disconnected. I gave up on the phone service and tried their website enquiry form instead and received a reply informing me that their system hadn't processed my order correctly and that they would push it through. Since then, many emails went back and forwards to different people, each time I was told sorry their system processed the order wrong and they were correcting it for me. I finally got fed up with the stock response so tried ringing again yesterday only to be told they had cancelled my order as the item was out of stock. The item had been in stock when I placed the order and was still available to purchase a good week or so afterwards as well. I received no contact advising they had cancelled my order (in fact their system even today still shows it as being processed) and no refund had been processed at the time of my call so the lady on the phone processed the refund there and then for me (although I still have to wait several days for it to arrive back). Overall an unpleasant shopping experience and I will not be using Go Outdoors again.

Ordered on 21st February, 2021. 3 parcels later and three conversations with Customer Services and still waiting for five items. Have used Go Outdoors for years but unfortunately must say the distribution is shambolic at present. Promises from Customer Services and nothing happens. Finally told it's a problem with the Company's software but still not got my goods. Unfortunately I would have to advise avoid ordering with the Company at present.

Orders incorrect or missing told I would receive a refund but still waiting have been charged for delivery twice on one item every time you contact them you speak to someone different who trains these chimps I shall never deal with them again.

Not great. Unfortunately a camping table was delivered without any bubble wrap or protected in anyway so naturally the top was cracked when it arrived. Now having big trouble trying to send it back! Have contacted customer service five times so far and they can't seem to arrange a pick up. It's been a frustrating experience so far and customer service has been useless. Won't use this company again. UPDATE - Hilariously even after the 'online reviews team' got in touch after my bad review the ineptitude continued! The broken table is still sitting in my hall ten days after my first call to say it had arrived broken. They STILL haven't arranged for it to be picked up. Have spoken to about ten different people now about it, who the hell is training this shower!! Management if you are reading this you need to seriously up your game. The warehouse didn't pack it properly so it arrived broken and your customer service team is absolutely useless at resolving any problem. Just give me back my money and I'll throw the table if you don't want to collect it!

Returned an item over a month ago and STILL haven't received my refund of £300. I've sent 5 emails querying this and every time I am being told my refund has been requested and will be received within a few days. They have acknowledged receipt of my returned item, so why does it take a whole month to get my money back?! I'm STILL waiting!

I have ordered 40 sleeping bag to hand out to homeless people who sleep on the street. Unfortunately only one bag was received by post. I have called them few times and email them at least 10 times for my other 39 sleeping bag or to refund my money back. They have always replied with some one will contact you soon. Every email was replied to by a different person at JD and from go outdoors. Now im waiting for almost three months. I hope for either my refund or sleeping bags but very disappointed with their service.

Had a small query with a three for two item when I didn’t receive the third item. After multiple emails to their customer services I requested a copy of their complaints procedure. Guess what, I’m told they don’t have one and that customer services decide if an issue should be escalated. So customer service are judge and jury on any issue you raise, hence their poor customer service goes unchallenged. For me life’s to short to try and fix their poor customer service but I wish them good luck in the future looking for employment as this business model will fail. Never again! you have been warned read the reviews here.

Placed an order in store for collection. After weeks of waiting I was told there was an admin error and told I would receive a refund. After weeks of waiting and emails back and forth I have still not received my refund. It is ridiculous, the whole customer service department is a joke. They will not provide you with a contact number to speak to a member of the customer services. Really not impressed. S Hartnett

I brought a tent with many malfunctions, therefore I decided to go to the store and get a refund, when to go get a refund they gave me a gift card in return. When trying to use the gift card it had expired as all stores were closed due to the Pandemic. I then decided to send emails to Customers Services to get my refund or a new gift card back, this whole process took 2 months and I’m still fighting back and forth with Customer services to get even a gift card in return to my refund. I highly advice nobody to use this service at all.

Bought a mountain bike from Go Outdoors rode it once realised that the brakes were faulty. The brakes were allowing air into the lines which led to the brakes failing. Returned the bike to the store who kept the bike for a number of weeks. They contacted me stating they had fixed the issue. I’ve not ridden the bike for one reason or another much, two years on and the brakes failed again whilst riding it. Spoke to the store and they said bring the bike in, they told me the brakes were faulty and needed replacing. Go outdoors weren’t prepared to do this for free as was out of warranty. It took them 5 months to contact me to tell me this. I chased them several times before being told if you don’t come and collect the bike it would be left out side the store. So I still have no brakes on my bike, thanks for your help Go outdoors for treating me as a valued customer. Needless to say I would not recommend Go outdoors to anyone, avoid at all cost

The are the most impolite company who avoid the issue . Your order will be supposedly lost and they wont respond to correspondence .. Check the review ratings of one star which will confirm exactly what Ive said . Its a disgrace

Will never ever buy from this company again. Ordered and paid for a discounted head torch in mid-December. Paid £5 on top to get the discount. "Dispatched" next day. Still had my payment well over three weeks later. No torch. Told eventually after numerous requests it was "broken". Went through 5 different people before I firstly got the answer then the refund for the torch and yet another person to get back the £5. Horrible service. Horrible attitude.

Ordered numerous items but then received emails stating some items out of stock so told them to cancel entire order. Request ignored and items started arriving weekly and despite numerous emails for them to stop they are still continuing to arrive. Made complaint and told to return and would get refund in 14 days but they refused to arrange collection for return despite their error. When they are in touch via social media or email it is always an automated email and if you try to ring help line automated message states it is not manned.

Placed an order 16th December 2020 it was delivered to store, on collection an item was missing. I was told it was out of stock on the day of picking. No notification saying it was out of stock they refunded the money back to my account. Was told by shop assistant to order online again. I placed a second order for the same items 29th December 2020. Without any notification on the 10th January 2021 they cancelled the order and refunded the money back into my account. I placed a third order for the same items 12th January the parcel was delivered with items missing, I emailed customer services to be told the missing item was out of stock and would get a refund. The items are still available to order on the website. I’ve give up, won’t be using them again. Customer services said although the items are in stock when ordering off the website it’s unfortunate they’re out of stock when it reaches their warehouse. Very frustrating.

Ordered a gilet 16th Jan order was cancelled a few days later due to incorrect stock levels. The same item and size is still for sale on their website. I ordered another gilet 22nd Jan in another option again order cancelled a few days later due to incorrect stock levels again it is still for sale in my size in their site. Also. They will refund the cost of the item but you will need to request the postage back they don’t do it automatically. I have given them a fare crack at the whip and will not recommend or use them again. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere.

I ordered a coat and waterproof trousers in December. They were returned as unsuitable by post. Despite proof of postage and return for more than 14 working days ago now at the end of January I am still awaiting a refund. Update 17 days following a my order being delivered back to Go Outdoors ... Following this review I called Go Outdoors was told the issue would be resolved today and I would be called back in 15 minutes. Still waiting 10 hours later. A fourth contact resulted in another representative informing me that I would have to wait a further 5 working days for my refund. Please be aware before you purchase that the returns information stating 14 days was not my experience.

This company should be shut down. Tried to amend an order 2 seconds after placing told no, asked if I could make a small amendment that would resolve the issue told no, asked if they would cancel the order, told no. Your carbon footprint must be huge taking packages out to people who don't want them (and with separate vans for each item!). I am absolutely disgusted. I'm a front line NHS worker and will have to take time out of a busy schedule to send packages back to you which I told you I didn't want. Disgraceful customer services only have one answer - no we can't do that. I would like my £5 back which I paid for my store card, you're the pits! Not sure if to report them for coming to my home during a pandemic when specifically asked not to! Not quite 'essential'- your company is part of the problem and a disgrace to the retail industry. Don't bother getting in touch to tell me you can't help, just let me know how to get this table back to you and my money back! Reading through your reviews it would appear that 0.0001% of your customers who live in Swansea are happy with your service!
