This company contracts with other small foreign companies then takes zero responsibility for the service they offer. I rented a car through with a small agency in Italy. The rear passenger panelled got scratched in a narrow alleyway and due to an early flight back to the US I had to leave it there (using the key drop box) before the agency openned in the morning without receiving the final rental contract showing the damage. My insurance people at my credit card company need that one document showing the damage. I have contacted gotrentals.com five times the past nine months to help get this one necessary document and they have done nothing but forward emails to Italy. I begged them saying "Can a human here please talk to a human there and communicate five words "final rental agreement showing damages?" and Denisha said "no we can't." I asked if there is someone higher up who could do this and she said "no" and hung up. They point fingers of responsibility at the companies they chose to contract with (and receive money from) but take zero responsibility themselves and provide zero customer service or satisfaction. They told me (to take responsibility for their chosen partner) and call Italy myself. So there is what you get from gotrentalcars.com. From now on I will only rental from nation companies like Avis or Budget that keep their own records and take responsibility for the service they offer.

We did a reservation for a car in Santo Domingo via Gotrentalcars and it was for an SUV. However, upon arrival, we were informed that no SUVs were available, and we were given a Suzuki sedan instead. We were advised to visit the Budget office in Punta Cana to resolve the issue, but it turned out there is no Budget office there. As a result, we had no choice but to continue using the Suzuki. To make matters worse, the car stopped working after we refuelled it due to a battery issue. Overall, our experience was extremely disappointing, and we would not recommend this service. Also I couldn't find an email to contact customer service for Gotrentalcars and their Zendesk help center is not working either.

Car wasnt available when I called Avis who the booking was through so I cancelled, the had nor ecord of any booking Im still waiting for my refund

I have used this company on a few occasions and not had an issue. However this time it was horrific!! We turned up to collect our car at Savannah airport we went to collect our car, provided all requested documents (which I had previously used in Philadelphia without issue) and was told that my driving was not valid. So Budget cancelled the booking. Went to another supplier two desks down and hired a car without issue!! Due to being refused by Budget GotCarRental refunded some of my money but charged us as a NO SHOW which was £50. I called today to try and see about me claiming back the £50 which was an absolute joke. They were the most unhelpful and rude. I could not understand why this company has charge me for something that was completely out of my hands. MOKTHAR (From GotRentalCar) definitely needs to have a crash course in customer service!! Rude, over talks, patronising. This experience with this company was very unpleasant and stressful. I will never use them again. PLEASE AVOID!!!!

total scam. Bait and switch. Nowhere do they tell you before you get there to pick up the car that there is a hefty ETRA charge if you leave the provence and travel to another provence. So, for example if travelling from Calgary to Fernie but want to take a day trip to Alberta its several hundred added to the cost of the rental. And its a mandatory purchase for the whole week, not just the day of the side trip. Further, the insurance site to which the rental companies' web site directs you and has all the info on the car/truck you're renting doesn't bother to let you know that the total collision it provides is insufficient. No, you find that out when you try to pick up the rental. They won't rent it to you. You're screwed. The facility is a 10 min ride from the terminal. You call when you get in. But, if you want to tell them to pound salt because of their deceptive practices you have to wait until they happen to have a transport going to the airport so you can get an Avis or other company rental. Total time suck. But, of course!, they will sell you insurance at three times the cost to cover the collision requirement so you can pick up the rental. This is a very common scam with this company. While there trying to straighten the mess out no less than four other families were faced with the same dilemma. Stay away!

Do not use this company, the change my car provider in Denver to other one, which was not allowed to use in other sates. Was 10 pm, and i have to find some other rental, that was take me approximately 4 hours, and extra $ 250. This business needs to be close and not provide any rental service.

No car available, left stranded, ruined holiday and lost at least £400 no response, no refund, scam company, criminal, should be shut down before other innocent people are ripped off

I booked my car rental earlier in the year for my holiday in Florida for 21 days, from 27th September 2024. Unfortunately due to Hurricane Milton, which is due to hit Florida, we decided to see if we could get a return flight to the UK on Sunday 6th October. Under these circumstances beyond our control gorentalcars would not consider giving us a refund or credit note for the unused days. I will not be using this company in the future, and will certainly be putting an extremely negative review on TripAdvisor!

Contacted Go Rental after contacted Dollar and they were rude, unhelpful, unsupportive and unsympathetic. I'm too scared to drive car and so worried I will break down and have accident hired a car from Tampa international airport. after 6 days a Oil and Maintenance light came up. no rental company near by. unable to contact directly with any Dollar Outlet on phone waiting to speak to an associate for 2 hours. to scared to drive. should have been checked over before rented out When I eventually was able to speak with someone they said "it's normal perfectly fine unless you are planning on driving 5000 miles". I am not happy not convinced we are safe and all cars should be checked out before rented out

Ein Stern ist noch zuviel. Wir hatten ein Meitwagen gebucht, der auch bestätigt wurde - 1 Tag vorher wurde diese ohne Begründung storniert. Ein Alternative war nicht mehr zu bekommen. Ich kann daher nur von diesem Anbieter abraten

eMAIL sent to GotRentalCars 14th August, provided below provides the background to this review. Today (20th August) I have called them (again) and spoken to "Ikro". This time I was asked to raise a complaint using a link he supplied. I am still waiting for a response ..... not to mention my money! "Dear Sami, I understand from your colleague, "Salma" who I spoke to earlier today that you are her manager, per the job title she confirmed this afternoon. I am writing to formally complain about the truly dreadful service I have experienced from your company. I made the booking below on the 6th January, 2024, and my credit card was debited for £323. Using your online form I cancelled the booking on 12th June, 2024. I had received no refund as at 25th July. I called you on 0207-373-7354 and spoke to "Oumnia". She checked the booking notes, and confirmed I had cancelled the booking. She told me I should have received my refund as at 4th July. She told me that she would send me an email and sort out the refund. I am still waiting. I called again this afternoon and spoke to "Salma", she told me (a) that I had never turned up to pick up the car, then (b) that she thought the car rental company were "confused", (c) that you needed to check if the contract had been cancelled and finally that you would call back within thirty minutes. I am still waiting ....." Date of experience: 20 August 2024

Avoid!!! Had all my details wrong booked over the phone didn’t have a clue messed my holiday up by taking another policy out and to top it off they won’t refund my money claim has been going on for 6 months now in touch with financial embossment team and now taking them to court as they are not doing nothing Avoid!!!!

My husband rented a car from them. Unfortunately he realized immediately after paying that it specified a pickup in another city (the pickup was not well marked). He called to change the city and was told it would be a £50 fee! They also claimed it was the actual car rental company that charged that price. When he called the car rental company directly, they said the fee was charged by the GotRentalCars website. Now when he tries to call the website help line, it hangs up immediately. We're feeling very scammed.

I got charged £50 when cancelled car hire over 24hrs notice. Their webpage states $25 Dollers charge cancelling within 48hrs and $50 Dollers charge if no show or cancel at time of collection Dishonest car rental company

Do not trust GotRentalCars . Do not rent thru them .Imagine having to pay extra to drive from Ontario to Quebec …. Just a scam to get more money from customers ! They subbed my contract to Routes … dishonest ..cheaters ..bait and switch

In summer of 2024, I rented via Got Rentals specific type od vehicle at Europcar and prepaid rental, including insurance in case of damage or theft. When tried to pick up the vehicle they tried to give us smaller car (that after I saw what they gave us) returned and demanded same type of vehicle because we were four. At the counter they tried to sell me insurance and other products. I declined all of their offer, but then they said that they would not give me the vehicle. They said that i need mandatory insurance to drive on UK roads. As we planned to use the car for our hollidays I had no choice as to "forcefully agree" and after I got home (after one week) Europcar charged me additional 300 pounds (cca. 360 EUR).

Absolutely terrible experience, don’t use this company. Wish I had read these reviews before using them but they charged me £383 initially, and then Thrifty also charged me £414. Both companies are terrible in terms of customer service and I’ve been emailing the claims team now for weeks with no response. Thrifty are basically uncontactable. Neither company care and are happy to keep your money that doesn’t belong to them.
