Rude, ignorant staff at Kirkstall Leeds branch. I appreciate staff serve customers (well, sort of) but 2 different members of staff saw me waiting for assistance, neither of them acknowledged me, apologised for the delay or anything at all, they walked straight passed me, a few times! Then the 3rd one, came onto the till, asks who is next, at which point I asked where I can find car reverse sensors. He repeated it twice, looked at me as if I was stupid and said 'we don't do them.' Again, no apology and just arrogant. I used to shop here but never again. Just because I am female does not mean I know what I'm doing! Very annoyed. Customer service here is terrible.

Went for an oil filter for a narrow boat BMC 1800.Asked the person till to cross reference to ensure i had correct filter. No reg so no chance.Went to parts counter and same reply..They couldn't do a thing without a car reg. It was their don't care attitude that got me. Wont be using or recommending Halfords again..That's for sure

I went to the Halfords Walsall auto centre on 24th March 2016 for a Full Service. I left the car at around 1:30 pm and collected the car at 5:30 pm. I was told that my rear left indicator's bulb was changed as it was "too white" (this was done without consulting with me and I was also charged for it). I paid for it since it was already changed. I was also told that there was some issue with the AC which was not fixed and was asked to get my car back on Monday 27th March. I realised that my vehicle's rear left indicator, which was working before was not working anymore. Today (Moday 27th March) I left my vehicle for the AC repair and told them about the indicator bulb not working. I was told that it will be fixed by the evening. But when i went to collect my car, the indicator bulb was not working again. It started working the moment it was unscrewed. I was told that there is some issue with the wiring of the lights and I need to go to some "mechanic" to get it repaired if it stops working again. Its been 10 mins that I have been back and it has stopped working again. This is absolutely disappointing after paying almost 300 quids. Something that was working fine has stopped working now and I will now have to spend more time and money to get it sorted.

I ordered 2 new bike tyres on line (£60 so decent value) and went to collect them from the Chatham store. I asked if they could be fitted and was advised it was £10 per tyre, I mentioned that the rear was flat and might need an inner tube and I was told fitting would cost another £10 so £30 in total for a 10 minute job, and after spending £60 on the tyres. I declined the tyres and went to the Bike Warehouse in Gillingham and paid £40 for similar tyres and £6 for complete fitting of both and an inner tube. I won't be back to Halfords and I will be telling others about my experience.

On 25 Jan 2017 I went into the Lincoln branch on outer circle drive to purchase a headlight bulb. The young lady kindly offered to instal it for me (it took her less than two minutes). I had a shock when I got the bill and she told me the bulb cost £9.99 plus £8.00 for fitting! I was very surprised at this, £8.00 per two minutes equals £240 per hour!! Had she forewarned me of the charge I would not have taken her "kind" offer! I use Halfords for all my motoring needs, from servicing to buying screen wash and I have always felt that I had value for money. Sadly, I am quite disappointed after my Lincoln experience. :( :(

cycle mechanic's have a very basic knowledge of servicing all bikes, and no experience of servicing high end priced bikes bought from the stores. mechanic's are never available in the stores to fix small problems when you really need them the most. even if you have a cycle to work package or servicing deal with Halfords. they have a very basic knowledge of parts and despite selling expensive bikes some parts for these bikes are not available or they don't stock them. and these problems go right through the stores from bikes to cars. I bought a bike on cycle to work scheme as I cycle to work every day, with out my bike I don't get to work, I don't expect to buy a service package to be told come back next week and well have a look at it for you .I've also been sold wrong parts even sold the wrong cd player for a car, and told that parts are not available and discontinued for bikes, I now do all my own servicing because I've been let down by Halfords to many times. useless staff springs to mind. I use wiggle, chain reaction, and others sites now for parts and accessories. Maidstone and Chatham have the worst inexperienced staff I've ever encountered in any retail store.

I brought this for the Mrs. This bike is not all you would hope for considering halfords built most of it. Once it arrived we unpacked it and put the seat/handle bars and front wheel on. All the rest was already done. First test ride showed that the gears were poorly set up, the front brake was none existent, and it had a rubbing noise from the poor set up. The rear was also in a poor condition. We took it to Guildford and had them sort it out. The first time it was given back we was told that the front caliper was not put in straight which was causing the rubbing noise and poor braking. I took it home and tested it the next day when I had time. the gears were now set up but the brakes were still very bad and the front was still noisy. I took it back again. This time when they gave it back they said it only needed adjusting! I then took it out there and then for a test ride, and the brakes were still poor/spongy and the front STILL rubbed. I took it back to them and they said leave it with us. After a few days i went back to get the bike I was told that one of the caliper pistons was not working so they said they stripped the caliper and fixed it. So i tested it there and then again and it was STILL exactly the same, poor stopping power and the front was rubbing as if nothing was done to it. This time what looked like the manager was there so i got him involved with this as I was getting very annoyed by this time. This time they sent one of their mechanics out to do a road test. (why there didn't do this before is a mystery to me). He brought it back and agreed that the brakes were still poor and that the front was rubbing. So I left it with them yet again. They told me they will order a new front brake set and that if the price was not to high they would upgrade the front brake for free. A week later it was finally done, they said that two of their staff road tested it and no noise was present and that they finally bothered to bleed the system on the brakes so they did work now. I looked at the brake levers and the new upgraded one was completely different to the rear brake lever, so to make them the same I had to pay to have the back upgraded also. So its been painful buying a Voodoo from Halfords. Oh and they wont even give me a receipt for the bike so i can insure it with Kryptonite. They said it was emailed, but they can't resend it as the system wont let them.

Ordered a cycle to work bike through Halfords. Someone from the store called me while they were building the bike to explain that there was a scratch on the bike that they would repair and offer me £90 off as compensation. This was acceptable to me until I actually got to the store to see that the 'scratch' was actually multiple deep gouges along the top tube (not saleable in my opinion). I rejected a bike and they prepared another one for the next day. Went back to see the bike that they tried to sell me the day before was on sale for £150 off the price! To add insult to injury, when I got home, I found that the front brake was rubbing very badly on the replacement bike.

The worse service ever!!! Specially coming from a massive caveman that i think is the superviser or manager. Today i run out of an antifreeze engine coolant, so looking for help i went to Halford in Northwich to buy some, so my car wouldn't let me in the middle of the road.???? So i went inside and I asked for the product and some help with this. I asked to one of the store assistant if she could come with me to let me know if everything was ok, but this caveman sudenly just told her that she couldn't as they are not allow to touch the anticoolant system. I said to him, thats fine i just need the advise and which product i need, becuase i will do this all by myself. At the end the cave man said no, but the store assitant said to don't worry i will help you anyway. And indeed she did help and i bought they one i needed. But suddenly i realised that i needed a funnel so i went back to ask to another store assistant if she could lend me a funnel so i could pour the liquid. The girl said yes no problem i will get you the one we use for antifreeze coolant, so i said thank you, but suddenly this stupid caveman took the funnel out of her hand and told her not to lend me anything even though she told him that the engine was cold already. So at the end i just told to the girl "dont worry i will manage". ???? Anyway it was a really horrible experience ???? i am 6 months pregnant and he was just watching me like idiot going under my car looking for any leak and making my own paper funnel to pour the liquid in. ???????????????? This person should not be working in this place. Its a shame that all his employees are better people than him.

Ordered a car seat from Halfords on-line. The wrong car seat came through a couple of days later (wrong - as in age group) - not suitable at all. I was advised to send photographs of the wrong seat and a collection date was advised. On this day the wrong car seat was to be swapped for the correct one. The car seat did not arrive, I was given another date, again it did not arrive. I then suggested, I would go to the store myself to swap the car seat. I was told that the correct car seat would be delivered to the store. Again there was no delivery to the store. After being advised to cancel my order totally (this had gone on for 3 weeks ), I was told that I could not have a refund until the first car seat was collected. However, collection could not be arranged until 4 days after my call. What an appalling service!!! I would never recommend on-line service to anyone. Still waiting for a refund - so I might get the chance to buy a car seat so my child can be in the correct car seat for his age and size!!!! Disgusted

Bought a car battery, but cancelled an order due to wrong delivery option. Spoke to customer service, who advised me all was cancelled, but battery arrived anyway and I was charged. Since this moment for 2 weeks after a lot of conversations and emails to customer service regarding collecting a battery and refund - STILL NOTHING!!! They even don't bother to reply on my emails. AVOID this company if only you not ready for stress and headaches dealing with them!!!

Went to get my battery changed on my Discovery 3. Was told it is not the battery, so I ordered alternator. (Expensive) Next day after charging my battery overnight, car started once, drive for a bit then died, making me think they were correct about alternator. Called RAC, Guy tested battery, told me battery has dead cell, needs to be changed, he tested the alternator for me with volt meter and output was rock solid. Changed Battery, has worked fine ever since. Now have a very expensive spare alternator gathering dust.
