I always loved Hotter shoes for comfort and style, and have shopped with them for years. But something has changed ... they no longer fit as they did before, the sizing is inaccurate and there's no proper arch support. Even ordering the same style as I used to wear, the fit is completely different with much less toe wiggle room. There used to be reviews on their website and a full description of each pair of shoes, which was very helpful. This no longer seems to be available. What happened? It's such a pity.

My elderly mother has bought a number of Hotter shoes as they are really comfy, unfortunately with each one the soles have crumbled. I have tried to contact customer services on her behalf but they seem fixated on knowing which shop she bought then from. The issue is about the manufacture of the shoes, not who sold them. My mother is on a pension and spent a lot of her money on these shoes, I did expect more understanding from the company.

I have worn Hotter shoes for forty years, always a size six. I buy three/four pairs every year. My last purchase was to replace my slippers with the same style. When they arrived they were much too big I had an online chat with someone who suggested I reorder and this time try a size five. I declined to do this as that would be two lots of return postage if they proved to be too small. I went to my local Hotter shop to try the five for size only to be horrified that every style of slipper I tried in a six are now too big and every five too small. The lady who served me told me my feet had altered as that’s what happens to feet! When I explained that if that was the case then every pair I already own would be too big too she said that the shoes used to be made in India but now they are made in UK and the soles on all the shoes have been altered. I am very pleased that the shoes are now being made in this country but that doesn’t help me if the size has changed too. I am very sad as Hotter Shoes are so comfortable but unfortunately I now need to look elsewhere. Impossible to read or leave a review online now too.

Hotter shoes are now so badly constructed & finished I wish I could give them a minus score! My latest, full-priced pair had rough seams which really rubbed until my heels bled & gave me blisters. The insoles arrived wrinkled which also was painful when walking. I agree, continuous sales indicate to me shoddy products. Why don’t they just lower their prices. Their prices shot up by 50% in 2015 at the same time as their quality plummeted. Have worn the same style for several years but something changed in 2015 - a new Chief Exec who only lasted a couple of years but by then the damage was done & they’ve never reverted to quality since). Ironically Primark shoes last longer than Hotter ones. Hotter have become too greedy whilst their shoes have significantly dropped in quality. Hotter ignore customer feedback but Clark’s by contrast have responded to customer feedback & now offer some really comfy, elegant and durable shoes.

Nothing has gone with previously owned shies say up to three years ago. They are now too expensive even the sale prices. I won’t pay £59-60 fir a pair of shies in a sale. Reviews are becoming poor. Quality not as good as in the past. Why are you always having sales speaks for itself, you are not shifting the goods. You offer too many slightly different styles. But quality and a smaller range with cheaper prices would bring this customer back.

I have many pairs of Hotter shoes, some quite old and still in good condition, but I have also experienced rapidly crumbling soles when the black material turns to dust or breaks off in chunks. The latest experience was yesterday in a pair that I had worn only once before. They felt sticky at first, then left a trail of black "crumbs" and finally large pieces - all within the space of minutes. Admittedly they had been stored on a shoe rack for months but with plenty of air circulation. (A friend who had a similar problem was told it was because she kept them in their original box. Please Hotter change the composition of the soles you use because in all other respects you make a good product and you are losing formerly loyal customers. I know I shall be very hesitant to buy further pairs.

Fantastic Customer service. Mark Kitchener Thank You for making my purchase an oh so easy job. Usually I purchase in store at Worcester and again very helpful assistance. Tho I have to say, Mark Kitchener your on line approach was outstanding. Thank You for assisting me. I shall purchase on line again Thanks to your customer service. The shoes speak for themselves I have more than one pair.

Ordered a pair of hotter shoes online tempted by their “no hassle returns” so extremely disappointed when received my refund, obviously minus my £2.95 delivery charge, but, ALSO MINUS A FURTHER £2.50 return charge. So although they actually provide the return label in the parcel, UNLESS YOU READ THE SMALL PRINT, you will be charged an additional £2.50 if requesting a refund. VERY MISLEADING HOTTER. Avoid at all costs. COST ME £5.45 to find out their sizing.

Definitely NOT what appears to be in catalogs. Sizes are also on a large if you order 10 it’s more like 11 US

Ordered some lark shoes for my mother for Christmas unfortunately due to a lump on one of her feet they didn’t fit right. (I asked her to try before I wrapped them) I returned the shoes with the enclosed Hermes label, just received an email saying that it’s a £2.50 charge to return something!!! No where on the enclosed paperwork does it say it’s going to cost a further charge of £2.50 To return! Hotter shoes are expensive enough without the added cost of a charge to return, I actually don’t think that any reputable company should charge for returns, so it’s actually cost me £5.45 (£2.95 to post £2.50 to return) in postage costs. Would I order again no I flipping well won’t too expensive if they don’t fit. Disgraceful.

When I took A pair of Hotter shoes that I purchased last year and only wore a couple times out of storage for winter use I found after wearing it for a short while the sole started to disintergrate. I have never had this with a pair of shoes before and even though I love Hotter shoes I wont be wasting my money on them again!

Humiliation as brand new boots soles disintegrated on board room carpet! Bought last year in sales and stored. When contacting customer services they used fob off and blocking tactics to get rid of me. Loyal Hotter customer BUT NEVER AGAIN!!!!!

I have been a Hotter customer for over 20 years. Having quite slim narrow feet, I am finding their shoes now are no longer suitable for me - usually far too wide. Their returns policy has also changed in recent months. Not so easy to return if you can't get on with the shoes - so read the small print before you buy and make sure, if you choose to 'persevere' with them a while, they remain as new, or this could affect the chances of a refund. (I don't recall attention having been drawn to this change by Hotter.) Understand company has changed ownership though. Certainly not so client friendly. I won't be remaining a customer - it's time for a change.

The quality of Hotter shoes are amazing. The one star is for the click and collect locations. I am not able to get to my nearest Hotter store as it’s almost 20 miles away. There are parcel shops less than three miles away but Hotter so not deliver there. Sadly, this winter I will not be able to have a pair of Hotter boots. I have reasons for not wanting to take delivery at home or with neighbours. Please Hotter consider widening your click and collect locations. I now have to find a different brand of shoes and boots.

I ordered a pair of boots and the site was recommended by a friend. Sadly I did not notice a huge defect inside in the heal in time and I sent pictures to hotter only to be told I had to send back at my own expense for sharp metal in the heal, and maybe I would get something. They are clearly defective, and they should stand by it. I cut out the metal myself and will not be buying any more from them.

I had been a loyal hotter shoe customer for years. But my last purchase was terrible. The sole of the shoe was so thin I could feel the pavement as I walked. Didn’t really help when I returned in the shop . Saying I should have tried walking on them 1 st . Will be using another make . I did notice on their website customers can no longer leave a reviews ? I wonder why ??
