Zero Customer Service and Staff who don't know what they are doing and mess up orders, then blame the customer. Clearly they don't more business.

Ordered a few things from IKEA, I live in Cornwall so took a week to deliver (fine not a problem) but wasn't awear that the 35 delivery charge included damaged goods as part of the service otherwise would have avoided! I rang up to find out what could be done I was told I could wait another week and have it sent out for Free (I should hope so) when I asked if it was possible to get some kind of compensation as we have just moved house and was rather hoping to have got things sorted (not IKEAs problem I know) the guy on the phone laughed and said the product is only worth 70 quid, not taking into account our whole order was over 400 pounds worth. All in all definitely not worth the 20 minuet wait on the phone to be spoken to rudely by some obnoxious telephone operator. We all know sometime things get damaged from time to time but just an apology would of been nice. Well now that rant is over I'll resume putting the rest of our items together which thankfully are all fine! Little tip though IKEA.... Put some of your operators through some people skills training.... It could go a long way!

Ordered over £700 worth of bedroom furniture 2 weeks ago. Arranged deliver for today Sunday and had numerous texts saying it will be delivered between 12.30 and 4.30 and that you will be called 1 hour before to confirm exact time. So cleared out bedroom and sat in all afternoon waiting for it and they didn't show up. No call, text, nothing. Customer service line is closed. Absolutely appalling. Waste of a day and no idea where and when this delivery will come now

Do not order a mattress from Ikea. I took a day off of work to stay home for the delivery that never showed. They attempted delivery at a post office instead and when I said I could not carry the mattress home myself they would not refund my money. Do not use IKEA.

Spent 2 hours getting a kitchen designed a couple of months ago only to be told today when we went to get a revised quote that they can't do doors for our washing machine, tumble dryer or dishwasher! Even though the guy designing it assured me that they were on the design when it was done! Absolute crap! Now taking my custom elsewhere.

IKEA CUSTOMER SERVICE IS A JOKE!!!!!!!! I BOUGHT SOME FURNITURE AND ARRANGED FOR THEM TO BE DELIVERED AT HOME. PAID OF COURSE FOR THE DELIVERY. I CONTACTED IKEA TO INFORM THEM IN ADVANCE OF DELIVERY RESTRICTIONS AND THEY REASSURED ME THAT THEY WOULD MAKE THE DELIVERY ON THE DAY BY USING A SMALL VAN SO THAT THEY COULD PARK ON THE SIDE ROAD AND ALSO CARRY THE FURNITURE TO MY FLAT AS I WOULD BE UNABLE TO DO THIS MYSELF DUE TO BEING PREGNANT. THEY REASSURED ME THAT EVERYTHING WAS GOING TO BE ARRANGED AS DISCUSSED. HOWEVER, ON THE DELIVERY DAY IT ONLY TURNED OUT THAT THEY HAD A BIG LORRY INSTEAD AND THEREFORE HAD TO CANCEL THE DELIVERY! I THEN HAD TO SPEAK TO THE DELIVERY DRIVER WHO COULDN'T REALLY SPEAK ENGLISH ENOUGH TO BE ABLE TO PROPERLY COMMUNICATE AND THEY PROMISED ME THEY WOULD COME BACK THE NEXT DAY. UNFORTUNATELY THIS DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE THE CASE AS AFTER SPEAKING TO CUSTOMER SERVICE THEY SAID THEY WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO NOW DELIVER FOR ANOTHER 3 DAYS AND THEY COULDN'T CONFIRM WHEN IT WOULD BE POSSIBLY DONE. THERE WAS NO TEAM LEADER OR MANAGER THAT I COULD SPEAK TO AND THEY COULD NOT GIVE ME A GUARANTEE AS TO WHEN THE DELIVERY WAS GOING TO HAPPEN. I STILL DON'T KNOW. SO WILL HAVE TO NOW STAY AT HOME EVERY DAY WAITING FOR WHEN IKEA WILL DECIDE TO DELIVER MY FURNITURE. IKEA CUSTOMER SERVICE IS SO POOR!!! MY QUESTION IS WHY DO YOU EVEN ASK FOR DELIVERY RESTRICTIONS WHEN NOONE ACTUALLY TAKES ACCOUNT OF THEM???????? DO YOU REALLY EXPECT PEOPLE TO STAY IN ALL WEEK TO WAIT FOR A DELIVERY??????????????? YOUR SERVICE NEEDS TO BE LOOKED AT AND YOU NEED TO HAVE PEOPLE WHO ARE HANDLING CUSTOMERS TO AT LEAST KNOW HOW TO SPEAK ENGLISH AND BE ABLE TO SOLVE THE PROBLEMS YOUR INEFFICIENT SYSTEM ACTUALLY CREATES!!!!!! YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED!!!!!

Finally got round to buying the bedroom furniture for our spare room. Once we decided what we wanted we made our way to a counter to order & were met by a elderly man looking busy on his computer. He took our order no problem but when it came to delivery, which is £25 he said they could deliver between 7-1pm the next day. When we asked if we could have a later date, he abruptly said that's all we have. Take it or leave it. Quite shocked that we were spending over £500 & to be faced with this attitude we just agreed & it was myself we had to sort work to fit around the ikea delivery :-/ The next day I'm up & ready at 7am for my delivery & also ready to get straight to work as soon as it was delivered. But time ticked on & by 1230 I was anxious I wasn't gonna make it at all to work so I rang to see where the delivery was to be told it was running late & it's looking like late afternoon. At this point I explained how unhappy I was & why wasn't I informed of a later delivery?? The guy on the phone did apologise & offered me a refund of £25 which was my delivery charge. The delivery did only turn up 1 hour late but I think if I hadn't of rang it would of been later or not at all. I rang back later in the day once I got home from work (I had to work later due to the later start) & was told after waiting on hold for half ahr I wouldn't be getting a refund as it's not policy. I asked the guy to go & find the 1230 phone call, listen to it & come back & tell me I'm not getting a refund when it was already offered to me. He did listen to the call while I was put on hold and said yes I would be getting my refund & it would be issued back on the card I paid with within a few days. That was 2 weeks ago & no refund has been issued so I've just sat for another half a hr on hold waiting to speak to someone to then be passed from one dept to another. Finally I have just spoke to someone who has taken my card details & has instantly refunded the £25.00. I think for any company whether they sell cheap or expensive products. Customer service should be second to none. All I can say thank god all my items arrived & most items were put together without missing parts. I don't expect a lot when buying from ikea but I do expect to be treated with respect esp when I'm putting my money into your company. I will defo be thinking again about going through this again. I really don't think it was worth the time or hassle :-/

I hope that someone will see this review and think twice about buying from Ikea in Edmonton. Paid for next day delivery and was lucky enough to get it with only 6 things missing - the hinges for the wardrobe. After 3 phone calls and numerous internet chats was promised it would be delivery within 5 working days! Don't charge people for a delivery if you cannot deliver! I will spend longer saving up and buying from a more reputable company that cares about its customer service.

We have had our ikea euro king size bed for 6 years now and it's time to get a new better mattress. Only thing is ikea now don't stock the mattresses in this size in store (any store!!!!) You have to order and pay delivery (£35 and I live 10 min away from store) wait time is 10 days - if it arrives on time, judging by the other reviews we will wait & see). Why can't it be ordered and delivered to store for pick up that would be much better service and less costly to customers. I will think twice before buying ikea again.

Company is happy enough to take your money. If and thats a very big if nothing goes wrong you are extremely lucky. Ive now wasted 3 days for a product that the store colleague misordered. 2 trips to the store and still no sign of the delivery that was guaranteed yesterday. It wont come now until tomorrow they said yet when I was down there (lakeside) trying in vain to get some answers they were taking same day delivery orders for my postcode! As I said they are more than happy to take your hard earned money, but when they make numerous errors be prepared for excuses and non deliveries while you waste days at a time not doing the things you had planned and seeing the people you have made the plans with. Want advice? Use another company that actually care when they are in breach of contract.

Ordered online decking tiles. At time of ordering delivery date was given, a week later (one day before said delivery date) telephoned by IKEA to advise no stock of item. No date for when stock available could be given, nor a new date just that they would be in touch when they know. When asked why it had taken a week to be called they said they only pick order day before delivery so do not know stock levels until this date. They are however happy to take your money and keep it no matter how long you are without the product you have paid for. They do however process orders within 48hrs of it being placed but could not account for why they did not have stock levels at this time. Ikea member who called was rude, totally unhelpful and only apologised out of duty, customer service rubbish.

I had plenty of time to walk around the store. This meant it was much less stressful than previous visits when time was limited. The store is big and if you follow the set route it takes a considerable time to complete the circuit and then visit the warehouse to buy goods. Luckily I found a truly helpful member of staff in the textiles hall who was excellent. Her name is Rebecca Hyman and she deserves credit. She arranged to go and collect an item I couldn't find and brought it to me to save me considerable back tracking and having to leave my full shopping trolley unguarded. Ikea can be a terrible shopping experience if time is short but I have found the staff there in all areas very good.

Useless staff, useless company, totally clueless about customer services. At lease the furniture is cheep when you can get it. The staff do not know the difference between a cupboard base unit and a wall unit. Mistakes are made somtimes, but same mistake twice. Each time ikea make a mistake it is always the customer who suffers. There is no fastrack system to rectify their mistake, the customer has to drive back to the store, the customer has to queue for a refund, the customer has to go back in store to get a new order form, the customer has to queue at the tills, the customer has to wait over an hour again at the warhouse, only to realise that the same silly mistake has been made. Advised at the warhouse to come back next day and start again. Do not put yourself through this, it is not worth it to save a few pounds

I have already been waiting two weeks for a delivery due next week (3 weeks after parting with the money!) and get a message today saying that delivery can't be made, it'll be another almost 2 weeks! I'm also told I shall have to wait in as it is an any time during the day delivery, although whoopee do, they will give me a four hour slot closer to the day. So I've got to muck my employer around - again - and what about the people who were booked to construct the items, that's got to be rearranged. Absolute rubbish - where's the customer service ? Customer service went out the window as soon as they had my money. This is the first major purchase I've made with them - it will be the last.

Went to Warrington Ikea yesterday, a one and a half hour drive away, to buy a balance chair for a grandchild. Haven't been for about 5 years because husband hates it. The chair has to be collected from the nearby warehouse. Two hours and 50 minutes after paying for the chair we wheeled it to the car. The warehouse waiting area was packed with people who looked as if they had lost the will to live. There is a screen with your number displayed, either pink (nothing happening) yellow (being picked) or blue (ready) but no idea of timings. And the pink side got so full that people were coming in and their number wasn't showing at all. One person had taken half his stuff home to Liverpool, come back, and still was on the pink side. You cannot blame the staff, but Ikea seriously need to address these problems because people will just not come back. Or perhaps they don't bother because the store was packed and everyone had a trolley full.

Despite the negative reviews we have still decided to go for an IKEA kitchen. What a huge mistake it was. First of all, the delivery service was just a nightmare. They have given us the time slot. I being pregnant, had to wait the whole day in an unheated house waiting for the delivery. When I managed to reach IKEA by the end of the day, they said the delivery was coming the next day actually. No apologies, nothing. Same happened the next day! and the day after! basically, i spent 3 days in an unheated house, calling them and getting " the delivery is on its way" and then "sorry, some kind of a mistake, will come next day".. Secondly, some of the items have not been delivered and some are just wrong. Mind you, you get c 180 individual items at delivery, so checking all of them and ensuring they all match your kitchen, is impossible. Lastly, when I had to order some extra items that gone missing, the IKEA lost the parcel. They now claim it is my responsibility to go through the neighbors and try to find it! They were so extremely rude on the phone, this is unbelievable. I am shocked. Never again !

Waited 35 minutes to speak to customer services as pax wardrobe had a damaged part. I was told I had to go back into store. I was told I wouldn't have to wait they would have the part waiting for me at customer services . When I walked in and ask the staff member on the leeds Returns counter , Jeri she said in a loud voice 'you need to wait like everyone else,' ... Meanwhile everyone else looked over at me pretty annoyed as it looked like I was queue jumping . I said ok, but I was told to present at the desk and you would have my replacement part waiting for me along with a gift voucher by way of apology , she shouted over in aloud voice , ' has anyone got something waiting for this lady or does she need to take a seat like everyone else ' ....So I sat down very embarrassed , sheepishly with everyone else giving me daggers for trying to queue jump. What a horrible shopping experience .... Let's see what happens when it gets to number 42
