Not a terrible story but annoying and a sign of the type of business that Opodo run. Ryanair refunded £13 because my son does not have to pay the air taxes but Opodo are not giving me the money. I wonder how much money they make by simply not passing on the refunds...

Opodo is an awful company. If you have a problem they don't do anything to help you out. Customer service is like talking to a robot with a default messages. The website crash when I was doing a booking they charge me twice and they don't respond e-mail either. In the end I called the hotel and they told me I had a double booking but Opodo was inform and they did a refund but the refund hasn't been pay ban into my bank account. I will never use this website again

Don’t book with Opodo! I booked a flight and Hotel to Istanbul. Hotel was confirmed but not the flights. I chatted with the support 12 hours before departure. They told me not to worry and to wait another two hours. Two hours, 4 hours, 6 hours the same story: „Trust us your flight will be confirmed shortly.“ 4 hours before departure, sorry we can’t confirm your flight we will refund me. They only refund the flights not the hotel and not the ground transportation! Luckily, I managed to book the same flight directly with the airline, 3 hours before departure for the same price! I have no idea why opodo couldn’t do that, I assume they simply never tried!

Absolute shocking service completely ballsed up my flight then lied to by staff in India on hold twice for hours avoid like the plague Booking request in process (reference: 4933744373)

KEEP CLEAR!they sell flights they don't have and then try and blackmail you into paying more for another flight,which is cheaper elswhere never use the word' cancel' or you will get charged and don't hold your breath for the return of your money you'll have to fight for it

Please DO NOT use Opodo Please DO NOT use Opodo. they are deliberately evasive and unhelpful. Our flights were with Thomas Cook and were cancelled - we received no message from Opodo to say this was the case. When I called to check if the flights were ok- I was told everything was ok. It was only when I mentioned that I was worried that they were cancelled I was told 'oh, yes thats right, your flights are now invalid- you need to rebook'. We are now trying to get a letter from Opodo to say that they will not be issuing a refund. We need a letter to try to claim back from our credit card company, but Opodo will not give us the letter. They say they are waiting to hear back from Thomas Cook. Asked to speak to a supervisor - told we have to wait 50 mins. Left exasperated and extremely disappointed.

I cancelled my booking within the 7-hour free-cancellation period that my flight had when I realized I need a different flight plan. It's possible to do this online, even though Opodo says on some sites that you should call a hotline. Opodo refunded my money to the penny within 3 working days (only downside is that since my account is not in GBP I got screwed on the exchange rate, but that's my bank screwing me, not Opodo). One weird thing is that I still keep getting emails as if my booking was still confirmed and even when I log in to Opodo's site to manage my booking it still appears to be confirmed, only thing indicating a refund is that in the "Billing" section, the mentioned total is "Total: £0.00 Congrats! That's an amazing deal". Aside from this confusion, really good service.

Completely unprofessional, I will never use their services again and I will advise everyone to avoid them. They had cancelled my flight 2 months ago, they rebooked it for a different time and it was practically impossible to reach them to change it to something that suited my plans. I called them twice, every time the answer was, you will be contacted in 48hours to be assisted with a new ticket. I have complained about it and it has been 2 months of them ignoring me. The only way of communicating with them is through facebook messenger where the last 3 times I have been given the same answer: |wait for 24h to be "called/contacted". And of course " don't worry" which has absolutely 0 value in a B2C discussion. Please avoid them at all costs! Thanks, R

I booked a return flight, Manchester to Aberdeen. The same day I received an email saying the outward leg was cancelled. I telephoned to cancel the whole trip but was told I wouldn't get a refund. The call centre (India, I think) was atrocious, kept me hanging on the phone for 45 minutes altogether before they told me it would be £96 to book the same 3 seats on the same plane that was cancelled. I declined the offer and rebooked with Expedia. No problem, instantly confirmed and saved £60. Opodo are useless and they will keep my money for 7-10 days! They should wait for confirmation before taking payment. Furious!

I had the misfortune to contact the Opodo Call Centre to modify my flight arrangements recently. The person who answered my call did not satisfy my expectation of politeness and I found it difficult to hear him above the overheard shouting and noise in the background from other members of staff. Clearly Management supervision is either lackadaisical or lacking altogether. Whatever the reason, it gave an amateurish impression which Opodo needs to address if it wishes to retain Customer loyalty. I was placed on lengthy hold on two occasions and my enquiry was a basic matter. Heaven help anyone who has a difficult enquiry. Opodo needs to up it’s game significantly by ensuring staff receive adequate training in systems operation and Customer interaction.

during booking the site crashed and I didn't receive a final confirmation on the screen. So I thought that I had not booked anything. Booked using different website only to find OPODO have charged me even I had not received a confirmation. Customer services are rude and made me wait for an hour before I got fed up. DO NOT USE THEM. I hope this helps someone.

Avoid Avoid Avoid..... absolutely shocking, booked online but got no email confirmation of booking so contacted them only to find out the money had been taking out of my account without flight being confirmed then to be told flight is not booked and they will refund the money within 48-72 hrs. I needed to book a flight for my son ASAP due to family emergency. So basically they stole money from my account with no flight booked, I am hoping to god the money is refunded and have been scammed out of over €500....shocking company

Operation is a scam sadly. They try and resell add ons that are part of the airfare. Final price is always different and they are still covering up credit card fee charges. One to avoid

Don’t buy from them. I booked tickets by the help of the support and they wrote a wrong name on the ticket. Solving the problem is very frustrating the support isn’t helpful with solving the problem at all. They made a mistake and I don’t have my money nor my tickets!! They lied to me that they guarantee the refund in 2 days. Now it’s not possible and no one answers me to the point. What is your Opodo company’s policy for not completing their guarantees?

i booked flights to Spain, they emailed me a week later to say BA has cancelled flights and airline will issue refund but they will deduct £50 for handling?! and i had a cancellation policy as well!! worst service ever!!!

I booked flight ticket from Cairo to Abu Dhabi with additional 23 kg luggage (1 piece), during check in at the airport I was surprised that it is only 10 kg of luggage not 23 kg as i purchased from your website. my elderly mother had to wait for about an hour to pay for the extra weight which i already paid for !! it was very bad experience and I don't recommend any one to book though them

After countless tiring phone calls I've given up on this company. The airline issues the refund and Opodo have tried all the dirty tricks imaginable to keep the refund themself. The customer service is (and I know this is a bold statement to make) the worst I have ever experienced. They simply don't care. I was lied to multiple times regarding call backs and receiving emails within 10 days. Their tactic is to avoid customer issues and hope that the issue goes away or the customer forgets about it. Good luck trying to speak to the call centre agents. I tried multiple times and was unable to get an intellectual response at all. Perhaps I was actually speaking to a robot on the sub-continent. Of course the call centre is not in the UK, the UK number is routed elsewhere. Impossible to get a refund. When you give these guys money, be aware that the money is gone. Regardless of the level of service received, or if any service at all is received, you will certainly not see your money again. Recommended to avoid this company at all costs.
